August Seventh

Birdhouse

I had a much better day at work on Friday…

Changed out all the sale tables, went to lunch and opened boxes… worked 6-2:45… once home, still in a good mood… checked email… played on facebook… went to son3’s school to check the posting for his teacher and class number… he was happy, a few of his friends in his class… made chicken wings for dinner with leftover hotdogs and chilli… watched a couple of repeat bones on TV… and went to sleep…

son1 spent the night at his friend’s house… and then today had to go to girlfriend’s to go to a wedding…

son2 and hubby were deciding whether to go fishing on Saturday/today… son3 and I did not want to go fishing, we wanted to stay home…

Hubby and son2 decided not to go fishing as hubby wanted to have a family day, so I suggested we go to the antique stores…

So I got up first this morning, checked on the computer, did the dishes and made breakfast… scrambled eggs, corn beef hashed and toast…

Then we were on our way to the antique stores…

Went to the first one, very nice time looking at everything…

Then hubby went into one that we had not been in before… I like looking in the larger ones, but this was a small one person owned one… so in we went… the boys following… and I guess the door didn’t close correctly as the owner walked over to the door, closed it and stated loudly that the air conditioner was on and how rude that we didn’t close the door…

I was Pissed! I have to put up with opinionated customers and then when I am a customer I have to put up with opinionated associates… I told hubby I was done, went out the door, Firmly closing it behind me to be sure I didn’t let the air conditioner out… As I was mad, guess it slammed pretty good… cause the owner came out and called out to me, that wasn’t necessary, but I was too busy seeing red and to the end of the street by then that I didn’t hear him… however  hubby and the boys were coming out behind  the owner and hubby told him to calm down, the owner said something to the effect that I must have been born in a barn, where then son2 told him, that was his mom and that he better watch himself… hubby then told him that they were leaving and to back off…

They caught up with me and we went into another store that was more a ladies boutique but we were just trying to calm down at that point, so we pretended to look and then went on to the train store so the boys could look there… I still couldn’t calm down so I went back outside to wait for them…

Yes, the man was an idiot, and I didn’t catch the name of his store but I would post it every where so everyone would be warned not to shop there… However I am more aware of how much my cycle is way off last month and this month of my mood swings… I know I only have one good week a month and last week was my good week, but phew I am having my rages more often then just a few days before…

So we were able to go on to three more antique stores that we usually visit and the boys found some $1 comic books which was what gets them to the antique stores… and I calmed down a bit but my face and ears were burning all day and I got a big headache…

We then went to get Slurpees, having to pick different flavors as our favorites were not available…

Came home, the boys read their comic books, son3 had read two chapters in his Prince of Persia book earlier in the car, hubby started draining the pool and I swept the back patio and watered the grass…

I made some more BBQ wings for dinner and pulled out all the leftovers from the fridge and heated up some peas and carrots… Did three loads of laundry… Hubby ran to Walmart for a curtain rod for the front living room so we can finally put up a curtain over the top window that heats up that room… and I did the dishes again… Now we’ve been watching The Color of Magic that is a three hour two part mini series and we are about half way through part two… By the same people of HogFather…

Hubby already dozed off once so it needs to finish as it is back to work again tomorrow to set another ad and open more boxes and behave myself…

Happy Journaling…

So sorry that your family day was ruined by someone like that. Sometimes words are hurtful. Hope your Sunday is a great one!

I think my biggest pet peeve is dealing with rude people..and there are plenty of them.
I had to smile at son2 being one of your protectors:)
I think when you work in an industry where you have to please so many others, it's hard not to get irritated when you have to deal with rude people in your off time.
Hope you have a great upcoming week.

sounds like the owner of the store needs to repair his door...if it doesnt shut properly, why take it out on his customers....Oi! simple solution, sorry he was a butt head to you....keep on smiling tho!!!

I wonder how someone like that stays in business, bet he doesn't get many return customers.
I hope the rest of your week is better.

You're right, no customer should endure an opinionated shop owner! It was inappropriate of him to have said anything in either instance. Cin is right he should fix the door! If you ever figure out the shop name remember to post it.
