January Eighteenth

msmm

Here we are…

A lazy Saturday… A weekend off…

The yard work is not done and the house is still dirty, but my attitude is adjusted… For the moment…

I got hubby off to work this morning, settled on the laptop and had an egg sandwich for breakfast…

Put a ham in the oven for dinner…

Washed and changed the sheets…

Put away almost the last of the Christmas decorations…

Moved a few things around in my room to make room for the new treadmill that I am still waiting for someone to assemble…

ATT446

Watched some shows and a few Joyce Meyer episodes…

Got the January cards out of the drawer to sign and mail…

Plus I still have to fill out the thank you cards for Christmas…

Now I’m thinking what should we have with the ham… We already had mashed potatoes this week… I’m thinking more like baked beans but I don’t think we have any… hmmm will have to check the cupboards to see what’s easy to fix that we’re in the mood for…

fetchwb

I was on Pinterest and look what I found…

dcd4585e8eb776086b7e87f7aceeef16

How cute are these to make for hubby… Cards out of matchboxes… We have two large boxes of matches but they are completely full so I’ve been looking online to see if you can buy plain white matchboxes at craft stores… I’ve found the little ones but not the big ones…

I snacked on cookies and Fritos today so now I am having an apple and a pear…

I am back, was finishing up fixing dinner… added creamed corn, black-eyed peas, pork & beans, fried rice, left over stuffing, cranberry sauce and fruit cocktail…

And was talking with son2… he ordered some Xbox games for himself for his birthday… He got home about 1:30pm from his friends… hasn’t worked on homework today… did some yesterday though… he watched Joyce Meyer with me…

Now that son2 and I have sampled the ham, hubby is home and we can eat and watch our shows… I love my DVR…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you learn what you do.

If you worry a lot, then day after day you are learning how to worry even better. If you think about doing something a lot, then you are learning how to think about doing. Every moment you are happy, you are learning how to be even happier. Every time you act, you are learning how to take an action even better. What is it that you've been learning today? What is it that you want to learn tomorrow?

Friday! Yay!

I close tonight… I am off this weekend!!

Hubby is off at work…

Son3 is off at school…

Son2 is now up and on his laptop…

After discovering that Maple has once again chewed through his cable wires…

No matter how much we lock up the electronics behind closed doors, cover the wires, tie up the wires, hide the wires… She finds one to chew…

I am slowly climbing out of my funk… I blame the full moon, hormones, winter, my attitude… and sometimes I just want to be mad… Get my negative feelings out… I tend to hold everything in and eventually explode…

I watched a couple of episodes of Joyce Meyer this morning… She’s honest about her feelings and that we are just children in God’s eyes…

IMG_0002

Here’s the blessing jar from 2013… that is actually a lot of card stock packed together… so even though the jar is not filled, I filled out a lot of papers… We did not read them on New Year’s Eve as planned… We did start going through them one weekend morning that we were all home but as there are so many and some are conversation starters it is going to take awhile to go through all of them… It was a good exercise but a lot of work so I won’t be doing them again this year… I tend to write everything down on my calendar and as I’m filling out the calendar for the new year, I review the old year…

Pictures I took of the full moon this week…

Yesterday I went to work after all… Figured it was better to be grumpy there then stay home and nag at hubby all day since it was his day off…

You do notice though that when he is off I am at work and when I am off he is at work… I know I complained when he was on unemployment that I needed a break from him but isn’t there a happy middle somewhere… Especially since he is working part time at just under thirty hours a week…

So I opened all the new boxes from the truck all day, working out my aggressions…

Hubby made dinner last night… turkey loaf, mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, gravy, bread sticks… It was very good…

Son2 did not drive to or from school yesterday… He didn’t want to in the morning and hubby not only forgot to pick him up but when he did, forgot to let him drive…

Son3 had math, English and science homework last night…

Now that son2 has math, he’ll have homework more often now too…

Son1 stopped by last night to drop off a new cord for son2 that he made to replace one that Maple chewed up…

He also wants son2 to housesit the dogs the weekend of the 25th but that is son2’s birthday weekend so don’t know what he decided yet…

DIL has a session/job to do hair and makeup for a wedding out of town…

DIL is nine weeks today…

This morning I have checked on Facebook ( I have actually cut back on the time I spend on Facebook), read a few blogs (I am trying to spend more time blogging instead), read email, read a bit of my book, had breakfast, researched a bit on colon cleanses, signed up for Happify that I saw at the Oprah website, but may just be more work and time spent online, and did some paperwork that I brought home from work…

index

I have been wanting a treadmill for years but they are so big and heavy and expensive to deliver and break down and expensive… So I couldn’t justify buying one… Especially when our fitness equipment tends to be more of a holder of laundry… so once again a couple of weeks ago I began researching and discovered manual treadmills that only cost $100 instead of $1000… So I ordered this one as it got very positive reviews and it came yesterday… of course it’s nothing like the fancy treadmills with all the electronic bells and whistles but it’s meant for exercising… the reviews said being a manual you have to do all the work and in trade get more of a workout… I’m just hoping it’s sturdy enough and I actually use it and that it’s not too loud so that I can hear the TV if that is how I pass the time while on it… Plus I’m hoping it’s as compact as it claims and I can put it in the corner of my bedroom… It came yesterday as delivery was free and I’m hoping son2 will put it together for me today… Although all of a sudden he claims to have homework…

January Fifteenth

hands

Here I am again…

I have to close today…

I always notice how grumpy I am in the morning when I have to close… I don’t mind closing, or maybe I do… Since I’m so grumpy… I just don’t like the waiting around to go to work… I try to make the most of the morning but it goes so fast… Or I just find myself watching the time…

But then there are some days that I just don’t feel like going to work… I just need a day… But I always go… I’m never sick, darn vitamins and yogurt, that I can’t even call out sick… And then if I pretend to be sick, you then have to play it off the next day and face people… Plus can’t call out today as it’s the last day to make the schedule for next week… I really, really don’t feel like going… I will be fine once I get there and then I figure no matter what little I do, it is more then if I wasn’t there at all…

It’s just my grumpy week, although I should have been done being grumpy days ago… I haven’t had any outside time in a while, so this weekend I plan on doing some yard work, so that may improve my mood… Still after Christmas blahs…

Or maybe because I will be having the first shoe audit of the year on the 31st… And even though I told myself upon returning to shoes that they wanted me back and I wasn’t going to beat myself up over these audits… I think I’m probably eternalizing over it a bit…

Mostly though I am mad at myself for not having any control over my eating… I lost over thirty pounds a couple of years ago and have since gained twenty of it back… seven of it since Halloween with all the candy… and hubby got me lots more at Christmas, plus from work we got candy… I have no self control lately…

I need to wrap my mind around better eating habits again… and I don’t mean eating healthier… just eating for one… portion controls… I am only one person… I don’t need to eat for two or even three…

Hubby is off at work today…

Son3 is at school… He got a B on his first math homework assignment… So he is off to a good start…

He has PE, Pre Algebra, English, Ceramics, Science and Social Studies…

Son2 bought his books for college yesterday…

He has Weight Lifting, English, History of Dinosaurs and Intermediate Algebra…

I was texting earlier with my friend from work that we were co leads together in hardware/lawn & garden… she left the company when we got let go but has since come back as part time… since being back in shoes I lost two of my associates to commission positions… one being my full timer… so as of the 26th, my former co lead will be my full timer… I am looking forward to having her experience in the department, so maybe then we will be ready for these audits…

Yesterday I made hubby a list of everything/everyone that is on my mind every day that needs to be done or needs my attention… It filled six pages… His response after reading it… WOW… I will give him a day or two to see if he has more to say on the subject… Lol…

Still a bit of time before I have to get to work…

Going to finish reading:

Deaduntildarkcover

#1 in the Sookie Stackhouse Series…

Much slower and simpler then the True Blood series…

I’m also reading:

15860532

A bit of a haunting story that I’m curious to see how it will end…

I finished reading:

16158558

I can’t wait til #2 comes out in March:

18527947

I LOVE Nora Roberts trilogies…

it's okay to ask for help.

Sometimes we get overwhelmed with the details and complexities of our lives. Sometimes we need some help to get untangled, to gain a new perspective. Ask for help. Help may come in human or divine form. It may be seen or unseen. Ask, and ye shall receive.

January Fourteenth

How about an entry…

What have we been up to…

Hubby and I: working of course… hubby’s part time job, averages about thirty hours a week…

I, being a supervisor, am always working, it seems…

Either hubby and I are working the same schedules or opposite schedules, so seems sometimes we don’t see each other…

The boys just went back to school after being on vacation for three weeks for Christmas break…

Son3 in seventh grade, son2 in his second year of college…

I had a blissfully quiet day at home today as they were all at work and school and I was off…

They should all be coming through the door any minute…

Son3 will have homework and wants a hair cut…

Hubby picked up son2 but then son2 is driving home…

Just a matter of time now and he will take his driving test and buy his own car… He says by next month hopefully…

Son2 will be twenty in about a week and a half…

Son1 and DIL are still doing great… Son1 will have been at his job/career, a whole year this month… And yes Son1 and DIL are expecting a baby on August 22nd of this year…

I’m happy for them to have a baby and I’m sure it will be fun to have a baby around to spoil…

But I don’t want to be a Grandma, haha…

I will be fifty this year, before the baby is born… I’ll deal with that first…

Forty was very hard… that is when I started journaling… We’ll see how I deal with fifty…

Son1 was supposed to take me to get a tattoo for my fiftieth birthday, haha…

The fourteenth of January already… Lots to do and exciting things happening this year…

But for now I will do the dishes, see what’s for dinner and get son3 started on his homework…

I was thinking the other day, when son3 graduates high school, the baby will be starting kindergarten, at the same school all three boys went to and even DIL…

Happy Journaling…

No matter what we don't have, God's grace will come in and give us exactly what we need in every situation.

"I will always love you, no matter what you do. No matter how many times you mess up, I'm in for the long haul. I'm committed. We're going to work this out together." –God
