Jeremiah 26:8-15

But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people, everything the Lord had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, You must die! Why do you prophesy in the Lord’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted? And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the Lord and took their place at the entrance of the New Gate of the Lord’s house. Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!

Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people; The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard. Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the Lord your God. The the Lord will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you. As for me, I am in your hands, do with me whatever you think is good and right. Be assured, however, that if you put me to death; you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.

Didn’t get exactly done what I wanted to at work last night, but I did get things done planned and not planned… I’m glad this week is over though… I was in a mood that I just wanted to be by myself… Work wise I’m settled in the new position, but still settling in with the people I work with and missing the familiarity of the people I worked with in shoes and our daily talks…

dr-seuss-green-2

This morning I slept in til 8am, I was really tired… Son1 called, or I would have maybe slept later… I let the machine get it though and he called son2 around 10am… he wanted son2 to come over and help him do yard work… he found a person getting rid of the grass on the side of their house that would fit perfectly on the side of son1’s house… all he had to do was go dig it up and he could have it… son1’s grass had died on the side of his house and the other people were putting cement on the side of their house…

So hubby made breakfast for son3 and I… scrambled eggs, hash browns, spam and English muffins…

I spent most of the morning on the laptop… email, Facebook… I ordered some vitamins and a work shirt from Walmart… and using my shop your way reward points and associate discount at Sears/KMart I ordered a work shirt and some Joyce Meyer books & headphones for mine and hubby’s Easter baskets…

Hubby cleaned the garage, finally putting away the last of the Christmas decorations…

Son3 was on video games…

I did a load of laundry and put away all the laundry that had piled up… and then cleaned my room a bit… was thinking since the boys won’t clean their rooms and they don’t want me doing it, then I’ll clean my room… and doing so I found son1’s high school diploma… in a place I don’t even remember putting it there or why I would… probably figured that would be a safe place and I wouldn’t lose it… he’s been looking for it as he’ll need it to get into the training part of his new job… I thought I had given it back to him when he moved out but I guess not…

Hubby and I were going to go for a walk around the neighborhood but we got busy in our projects and didn’t make it… it was supposed to be 80 today but it was also overcast… son2 got a bit of sunburn and a headache helping son1 outside all day…

horton

Tomorrow hubby and I are supposed to go for our drive/hike… but there’s a chance of rain in Oakhurst… plus the boys need haircuts and son3 has homework from when he missed school… I also just realized today being Dr. Seuss’ birthday that son3 missed all the special dress up days at school this past week… not that I saw it posted anywhere or did he bring home any announcements… I’m thinking he didn’t want to participate…

Going back to January to our original to do list to see what all we’ve done…

Email Kaiser Doctor as I keep running out of my Gabapentin as it blocks me from refilling til it thinks it’s time, not to mention the week I have to wait to receive in the mail…

Son2’s Birthday is at the end of the month: plan a little something…

Walk room by room and make a plan to do one thing every day this year…

Trim roses…

Trim vines…

Wash bedding…

Laundry…

Dishes…

Cooking/Baking…

Clean out my shirts/pajamas…

Posters in son3’s room…

Save pictures from laptop to flash drive…

Clean out graphic folders on laptop…

Organize desk some more…

Work apron, lunchbox, notebook, calendar ready for work…

Clean both bathrooms from top to bottom…

January birthday cards…

Quickly doing my entry for Friday…

The above bible entries I have been including are readings for lent…

Son3 is off at school taking his Friday tests… I hope he does well… we studied hard for geography but not so much for spelling… he said he knew the words this week because a lot of them are ones he sees on his video game…

Son2 is filling out his financial aide papers…

Hubby has applied for jobs this morning and is now outside surveying his land… hopefully he will be doing some yard work today…

It is time for me to get ready for work… set the ad… bring up stock… closing manager duties…

And then I am off this weekend with lots to do at home… and hubby and I are discussing going for a drive/hike…

Luke 13:31-35

At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.

He replied, Go tell that fox, I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal. In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day – for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Today was a better day at work… I am still in a blah mood though… one of those weeks where you think, which day would be a good day to call out of work… but I don’t… too much to do… today I changed out an end cap… worked on out of stocks… held the manager phone for a bit… and then I was going to work on my monthly training but I ended up pulling some stock to the floor instead…

Son3 got all of his homework done except for one math page that was due at the beginning of the week so I told him that one he can do this weekend and turn in Monday… I was bad though and helped a bit too much on some of his papers… we are teaching him bad homework habits… but he has so much and I can’t see him doing homework from the time he gets home from school til nine at night when he is just in elementary school… right now he is just finishing up showering… and he still hasn’t really studied for his spelling test… we studied for his geography test for a bit earlier… he has not been doing well on his spelling tests the past few weeks… but then all school year the teacher has been having spelling every other week til the last three weeks he’s been having them every week… even when son3’s at school all week we are playing catch up with homework all week… or it’s just me, I have a bad homework attitude…

I’m tired… we watch too much TV and stay up too late… tomorrow’s Friday and I close so I can sleep in a bit before son3 has to get up for school… and I am off this weekend…

Hubby did call the lady from the temp agency that called on behalf of Coca Cola… and she said that they put him on the short list which is good as opposed to being rejected… and that they like his resume… and once they go through everyone, they will then set up interviews… the position is a temp six month position…

Son1 stopped by today… he is loving his new job… he likes getting off early and not working ten hour days like he did at his old job… and working outside… he is working at sites building apartment complexes… he borrowed some of hubby’s garden tools and brought some back…

Hubby has put on Joyce Meyer… son3 has gone to his room to study and go to bed… son2 is on his laptop… I am ready for bed and thirsty… but first I am going to look at books online and then pick a new book to read… I finished my Nora Roberts book, Irish Dreams today…

Romans 5:1-11

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom he has given us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him? For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be save through his life? Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Blah day at work today…

Electronic technology not cooperating…

Could have gotten more done…

Will start over tomorrow…

I think now that all the distractions with son3’s splinter drama is over, I’m now realizing hubby did not get any call backs from any of the new job prospects… so I’m feeling a bit down…

Son3 has a all of the homework from the whole week due tomorrow and Friday… plus a spelling test and geography test on Friday… plus they are getting ready for benchmark testing next month… today was early day and he is still doing homework now at 9pm… although he didn’t get as much done as he should of after all this time, I told him to do as much as he could today and tomorrow and then whatever we don’t get done we will do this weekend… if the teacher doesn’t like it, then I am sending hubby to the vice principle…

Son2 has been playing games on his laptop all day… he better be ready for school tomorrow…

Where is hubby…

I’m tired…

Going to finish the load of laundry I threw in the wash… and straighten up the kitchen… get son3 in bed and then me to bed…

And back to work again…

Mark 8:31-38

He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter, Get behind me, Satan! he said. You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.

Then he called the crowd to him, along with his disciples and said: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for he gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.

Hubby and I were up at 7am… had to get son2 to college… son3 stayed home to rest his stitches… and it was a good thing because son3’s doctor called at 9:30am… he wanted son3 to come in for an ultrasound to make sure all the splinter was out… guess he worried about it overnight… so hubby took son3 to the doctor at 11am… and they didn’t get home til almost 1:30pm… the x-ray department was running an hour behind schedule… the ultrasound came out just fine and all the splinter was out…

While hubby took son3 to the ultrasound, I did the dishes, two loads of laundry, filled out son3’s paper for seventh grade registration, put peas and ham on the stove for split pea soup and vacuumed…

Here’s the view of the clubhouse from our backyard over our fence into the neighbor’s yard that son3 was playing in when he got the splinter…

In the afternoon hubby and I went back to the doctor to pick up son3’s note for missing school and his excuse from PE til the stitches come out on the seventh of March…

Then we went to Walmart… but I forgot the list at home… but was able to remember everything on it… got the milk and eggs… stuff for lunches… a couple of things for Easter… socks for me and son3… bras and panties for me… soap… I still can’t find shirts for work…

Then we picked up son2 from college, got gas in my van, and got Carl’s Jr for son3 as a special treat for all his splinter drama… son2 got some too… hubby and I had pea soup, it was so good, and bean dip and chips…

Now we are watching Madagascar 3… Son3 is sitting with me on the couch…

Tomorrow is back to work… and son3 back to school… I’m not looking forward to all the homework he is going to have to catch up on the two days he missed…

Romans 4:1-5, 13-17

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about – but not before God. What does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a fight, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

it was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

Therefore, the promise comes by faith , so that is may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring – not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written: I have made you a father of many nations. He is our father in the sight of God, in whom be believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as through they were.

We’re watching The Oscars on DVR… can skip the commercials that way…

Hugh Jackman is performing from Les Miserables… I’ll be back…

We will be getting that movie…

Today was a nice fast day and I got all my scans and reports done…

Hubby went to his meeting with EDD which was actually in the mall where I work… it was ten minutes since he had all his paperwork and has been doing everything correctly… those that weren’t prepared were there much longer… they also referred him to Workforce Connection in the mall where he could use their facilities for computer, internet, copy machines and faxing… but he already has all that at home…

He had his phone interview at 3pm… very awkward doing phone interviews as you can’t see the other person’s reactions to your answers… so he felt that could have gone better… it will be a couple of weeks before they make a decision…

The lady from the temp agency for Coca Cola has yet to call back…

And hubby took son3 to the doctors at 4:45… so he is now splinter free… and on antibiotics… and got a tetanus shot, which I was hoping as he needs it for seventh grade registration, so now I can fill out his paperwork and turn it in… and got four stiches… and is much happier and walking better… the splinter was much longer then we first thought… the doctor was amazed and took it to show to all the other doctors… and all the nurses had to come in and see son3 and tell him how brave he was… and the doctor said he would now be son3’s doctor since he was the only pediatrician who was authorized to do surgical procedures in the office… the boys other doctor retired or went to another hospital, I forget, and they had been assigned another doctor but had not seen her yet…

Here is the splinter… over five inches long…

IMG_0011

I am watching the awards instead of writing…

I have a headache again… I think it is from my neck… too much lifting at work… too much computer at home and at work… plus today was my sixth day of working… so glad to be off tomorrow…

We are all home tomorrow except son2… he has to go to college… Son3 will stay home from school again tomorrow til he gets settled on his antibiotics and see how he is once the Novocain wears off the incision site… he’s taking ibuprofen with his antibiotics… plus hubby may have to go back as he forgot to get a note for the school from the nurse and wonder if he needs a note to excuse him from PE… he gets his stitches out in a week…

The Oscars are now in overtime… as soon as it’s done, it’s time for bed…
