July Thirty First…

IMG_0010

We’ve been having a lazy Saturday… Started the day helping an old friend I hadn’t seen or talked to in a great while… She’s learning about a business she wants to do in her spare time, she had to get ten people to volunteer to help her practice with the trainer… so this morning was my turn… not sure if I will sign up to use the products but it is great reconnecting with my friend and we will now keep in touch…

Hubby made fried eggs and pancakes for breakfast… I cleaned the kitchen and he worked in the yard… the boys have been on their games… and the day is just slipping away… nice and quiet though… just another week or so and the boys will be back to school…

Tomorrow is another work week… this past week went by fast too… supervisor was on vacation, all the back to school shoes are coming in… so I didn’t even have time to notice she was gone as I was quite busy and the week just flew…

I’ve been wanting to do this entry since the boy’s birthdays… so let me see if I can remember what we did…

Son3’s birthday was a whole week ago today already… he turned nine… He had a Bakugan themed birthday with just us… Got to open all his presents after breakfast… His one request for his birthday was he wanted to go to a restaurant… so after he watched Planet 51 and assembled all his new Legos, we were off to AppleBees… we didn’t think about it til we got there that they sing Happy Birthday if you tell them, so son3 wasn’t shy and spoke right up and said it’s my birthday to the host who seated us… he said ‘OK, we’ll have to be sure and sing’… the waitress came, took our orders, the food was great, kept the flavored lemonades coming, the boys had milkshakes and we had a great time… of course no one ever came to sing… but we were ok with that… we did see the host as we were getting ready to leave, drinking a soda and talking to a girl… told son3 would he like to kick him, but he said no, lol….. we still had cake at home and we were going to sing Happy Birthday and that was all he needed… We then went to Toys R Us to see about spending birthday money… Legos were buy one get one 50% off on certain themes so he chose two from the Atlantis theme… They also had a lot of backpacks for back to school so he found one he liked and chose a Bakugan lunch box as they were free with the purchase of any back pack… Back at home we had banana split ice cream cake and I can not even remember what we watched for a movie… The water park across from us was having fireworks and put on a great show just in time for son3’s birthday, that was even better than their fourth of July fireworks… I remember now we watched Popeye on Friday night, that is what I was watching when I went into labor with son1 and then Saturday night we watched Whose Line is it Anyway…

Son1 turned twenty three a week ago tomorrow… he spent his birthday weekend with his Dad that he hadn’t seen in seven  months as he is a truck driver and on the road a lot back East… originally he was supposed to go camping with girlfriend’s family… so we didn’t make plans for his birthday but he had a couple of presents that hubby picked up for him, tools for the Jeep and we ordered a banana filled cake that he requested… so I figured he could open his presents Sunday night or even Monday night…  unfortunately emotions were a bit high that weekend as I was having a grumpy hormone week and feeling a bit overwhelmed with both boys having birthdays and I’ve been a bit miffed with son1 in not following through on his responsibilities…  so when he showed up with girlfriend, that I was not expecting, Sunday at 6:30, when he had text and said he would be home at 5, and that they had already eaten with his Dad, which I had expected, but for some reason I was not expecting girlfriend, cause I thought she was camping…. I got an attitude… so of course son1 asked what was wrong and I said nothing which even young guys kn0w means something, lol… so finally hubby came home, we were ready to open presents and son1 was crying… I’m sure more for the emotions of the weekend of seeing his dad then me being mad at him, I just didn’t help the situation… I did explain to girlfriend that I was not mad at her but that son1 NEVER tells me when she is coming over… and of course it’s always on the day that I didn’t clean or fix much for dinner… cause on the days that I do go all out for dinner, they are no where to be seen… son1 did open his presents and we had a nice time until he and girlfriend went to spend some time with their friends and son1 did not come home again until the next night after work… this weekend son1 and girlfriend are off at the beach celebrating their eleven month anniversary…

I’m back… Dinner was good… now we are watching Hercules Season 1 with Kevin Sorbo… we have been on a watching old TV shows kick this year… started with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Emergency… then Bones… Star Trek Next Generation… I’ve put several other shows on Netflix too… Whose Line is it Anyway, Quantum Leap, Beauty and the Beast, Lost in Space, The Wild Wild West, Hogan’s Heros, Babylon 5…….

Just a week and a half til the boys start school again… Time to get back into a regular routine… no more video games, TV and no showering for days… lol… so many books I wanted to read with son3… we still have ten days…. son3 needs to get in a bit more pool time before we take it down… we’ve had a busy crazy summer this year… from working to playing, to going to the movies, day trips, working for my TMS entries on Thursday, watching too much TV, I read a few books, cleaning the boys rooms, getting son2 moving and keeping up with son1….

I’ve been so in the mood for blogging again… however no quiet time in which to think to type… I have all kinds of thoughts all day but by night my mind falters… or like now the boys are playing Nerf sword fighting right in front of me…. now Nerf rockets are flying over my head… I think it’s time for some boys to hit the showers… I have to be at work at 6am, maybe everyone should get up at 4:30am, ya think… and tomorrow is August First, time to kick my weight loss plan back in gear… my goal is to do an entry tomorrow all about that…. so we shall see how the day goes then…. til tomorrow….

Cheese Bread

Last week Mr. Food from ABC was on the TV in the break room at work and he made this cheese bread so I thought I would give it a try… It was very easy and yummy!

1/2 cup milk

1 egg

1 1/2 cups Bisquick mix

1/2 cup shredded cheese

some onion and parsley…

mix all together and pour in round pan

pour 2 Tb spoon of melted butter over top and

sprinkle another 1/2 cup shredded cheese over top

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes

Today I had planned on making teriyaki chicken only to discover I was out of teriyaki sauce as I was putting the chicken legs in the pan… So I invented Chicken Surprise or Clean out the fridge chicken…

I added two cans of chicken broth, finished off two bottles of honey BBQ sauce, finished off a bottle of Italian Dressing, finished off a bottle of Soy Sauce, added some Worchester Sauce, added a can of Mandarin Oranges, and sprinkled in some garlic salt and Lawry's seasoned salt and brown sugar…

Boiled/Simmered it for two hours and served with rice and peas…

Everyone liked it, even son3 had two chicken legs… It just fell off the bone…
