February Ninth

It was a very fast week…

I was thinking today was Friday…

It’s Saturday…

I got to work early today instead of closing as another associate needed to trade shifts…

tumblr_mfshnqwsg31s1lhrno4_500

I made a quick dinner of soups and leftovers…

We’re watching Impractical Jokers, Raising Hope, Arrow and Supernatural…

Son1’s last day at his job was yesterday… Monday he starts his new job… He’s excited…

Son2 got all his homework done… has just a bit of something due Tuesday… He’s been reading his graphic novels that he’s been collecting the last few months… He got a certificate from school for the Dean’s list… a 3.0 GPA…

Son3 had a good week of doing homework… He’s still reading his book consistently… His class went to the high school yesterday to perform Binky Barns by Marc Brown for the Peach Blossom… he now has a three day weekend…

I finished making hubby’s Valentine present… and almost done making his card… told him to decide if he wants to go to the zoo on Tuesday or work in the yard… we are celebrating Valentine’s on Tuesday since I am off that day and the boys are in school… so we get the day to ourselves…

I’m going to bake son3 pumpkin bread… and then I want to bake spice cookies and peanut butter cookies but try to make them heart shaped…

Son3’s having a Valentine party at school on Thursday and wants to bring his usual frosting cookies from the grocery store bakery that he brings to every party… he’s not bringing cards to exchange… I’m thinking this will be our last school party unless they do something at year end as this will be our last year with one of the boys in elementary school…

I bought the boys heart shaped frosted brownies for their school lunches next week…

Work is still coming along… I was a bit whiny and grumpy this week… my cold is just about gone so I’m feeling better and adjusting my attitude… I just can’t seem to get into a routine, my time is not my own and there will never be enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to be done… Guess that means I know my job now… my replacement is coming along too… however she is not quite yet stepping up to her manager duties for the store… and she is my closing buddy… she doesn’t have her keys yet so I loaned her mine last night… long story short I had my locker key on me and not my key chain since she had them and when putting my lunch away in my locker I set the key down too and locked the key in my locker… so hubby had to drive out at 8pm and bring the spare key as not only was my lunch in my locker but my car keys too…

And of course everyone is in a tizzy as we meet our new district manager next Friday so need to have the store looking its best…

Time to get ready for bed… back to work again tomorrow…

And I still have lots to do at home too… need to make hubby a honey do list…

Hubby made a cheesecake today with blackberries… I don’t like cheesecake but I had a bit and it was OK… I had peach pie with vanilla ice cream instead… mmmmmm…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

working together is good.

We are meant to support one another in this world. Let go of the feeling that you have to do everything alone. Ask someone if they want to join you.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

until you learn how to say 'no', you will never be able to fully say 'yes'.

Unless you know how to set boundaries to form your safe space, you will always be concerned that saying 'yes' might put you in danger. So you will always pull back a little from saying 'yes' with your whole heart. Paradoxically, knowing how to say 'no' to form boundaries gives much more power to your 'yes'.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

we all need the validation of love to feel safe, secure, and at home in this world.

Don't withhold your love and appreciation. Love abundantly.

I’m sick… just a head cold… stuffy nose, scratchy throat, headache, low grade fever…

I was whiny at work yesterday but made it through the day…

Luckily today is my day off… however hubby and I went to Michael’s and Walmart… I needed things to make his Valentine present and we needed toilet paper and cat food and more cold medicine…

Last night I went to bed at 9pm… felt good this morning… now I’m feeling yucky and tired…

Son3 is doing his homework and hubby went to pick up son2 from college…

Clean out the fridge leftovers for dinner…

Hubby got an email today saying he had past the online assessment for a job he applied at and if he fit further criteria they would be calling… we’re excited for the recognition no matter how small… one baby step closer to hubby getting a job…

Son1 dropped off the parts for the boy’s bathroom yesterday… now they too will have a quiet bathroom fan and a fixed tub faucet so it won’t leak anymore…

When hubby was up on the roof taking down the Christmas lights at the end of January, he found a bullet on the roof… probably from New Year’s Eve when people celebrate with fireworks and when those run out shoot their guns in the air… crazy people… luckily it landed on the roof without causing damage by putting a hole in the roof and by not going through a window and hurting one of us… now the boys understand why we don’t hang around outside after the fireworks are done… we now look around the neighborhood wondering how many other roofs have bullets in their shingles… hubby called the police and they came out the next morning taking the bullet and a report on the information hubby provided…

Son2 is home from college… he had a rough weekend of doing Chemistry homework… he missed some assignments online that he did not know he was supposed to do online… as he was focusing on the class assignments… and then he was having trouble with one of the concepts that he was not understanding… he is telling me now that he has to write a paper for Archeology… for Thursday that he has known about since last Thursday… but he was busy doing the Chemistry homework… and of course going out with his friends and then going to the surprise party and then Superbowl… he really needs to manage his time for homework better… most times he doesn’t even start it til after 9pm the night before class…

And he still hasn’t fixed/cleaned/finished his room since he moved into Son1’s old room and we moved all the rooms around…

Jelly bug border

Son3 got his papers for registering for middle school… first hubby has to make an appointment for him to make sure all his shots are up to date for seventh grade…

He is half way through with homework… two math pages to go…

We got distracted with homework because we were playing with this:

0001305

I got the purple one at Michael’s today… when we were kids it had a red cup on the end instead of the ball… we all tried it and I was actually able to do it… son2 finally got the hang of it… it didn’t help my sinus headache though… lol…

What I really want to find is one of these:

SpirographBox

I had seen a little one years ago at Target but it came with a slinky and silly putty and I just wanted the spirograph…  wish I would have gotten it now…

They also had calendars at Walmart for half price making them only $2… so I got son2 a Hobbit one and Son3 a Halo one… and I got me this one:

Gary-Patterson-Cats-Calendar

Son3 is now working on math so time to get dinner heated up…

Lots of shows taped from Monday night to watch… Bones, Castle, Hawaii Five 0, How I Met Your Mother, Two Broke Girls and Mike & Molly…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you need to have faith.

No matter how deep the abyss or how powerful the storms you face, everything can change for the better in a day, a moment or an instant. Hold on and know that your current circumstances will pass.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you matter.

People need you. People you love and even people you have never met are depending on you. You matter to God as well. No one else can be the person you were created to be. Do not think for a minute that you are not important; - the world needs you. God needs you.

February Third

super-bowl

Hubby and son2 are one quarter into the Super Bowl… Son3 is munching on snacks on the computer… Snacks consist of pizza, pot stickers, various chips and bean dip…

I am listening to the game and having a bit of computer time…

Not that I haven’t been on and off the computer all day…

FootballBorder

Hubby made pancakes for breakfast…

I tore my room apart looking for son1’s high school diploma, he’ll need it for his new job, but he has until March… I can’t find it… I can’t remember if I put it somewhere or if he has it… although he has looked for it too…he found his graduation souvenirs but not the diploma… I’m sure he can contact the school about a replacement copy but still would be nice to know where it has gotten to…

I went through all my work papers and made a binder and I am now ready to tackle all that needs to be done the month of February… lots of setups and sales…

I filled the birdfeeders…

I filled out the cards to be mailed for February…

I watered the plants and emptied the cat box…

I need to work on hubby’s Valentine as we are going to celebrate Valentine’s on the twelfth since that is my day off and I work on Valentine’s…

I am thinking of something like this:

The cats are being stinkers…

Miss Holly just won’t let us love her… she growls, hisses and swats everyone… usually after she has allowed you to pet her…

Miss Indy insists on digging up the carpet in front of the laundry room… I have a rug on top of the carpet with a brick holding it down… and she still digs to get under the door that is open… I think she is looking for her toys or wants the padding to make as a toy… she likes to play with twisty ties and any piece of fuzz… I find them under the bathroom rugs when I clean the floor… or in the pantry where she bats them around at night and they go under the door…

Miss Maple is the worst… she chews wires… we have had to buy new laptop wires, usb cords, Ethernet cords, TV cords… and now this morning we discovered that she has chewed all the wires to the game computer… she chewed the mouse wire, keyboard wire, monitor wire and the computer wire… the computer comes on and the monitor comes on but the mouse and keyboard are gone… so hubby had an extra mouse and keyboard… but now the computer is not working… son2 is trying to reinstall windows and what not but it is not recognizing anything… so is it because of Maple or that the computer is twelve years old… it was our very first internet computer…

I, who has not been sick in years, has a cold… nothing big just a stuffy nose… I think I am not used to the hardware dust… I became immune to the footwear stockroom dust and fungus after eight years…

49ersheaderlarge

I’m feeling sympathetic and guilty at the same time about something at work… my work is restructuring the management positions in some of the smaller stores… the person that I replaced has been affected by this and was laid off… they are able to apply for the new structured management jobs and he was able to come back to our store as a part time sales associate… I feel guilty cause he was so excited about his promotion and I now have his old job… and I’m sympathetic as that it happened to me nine years ago this summer and how I lost my management position and became an associate in footwear…

FootballBorder

I’m trying to remember what else I was going to write about… some things I jot down on sticky notes to remind me and some I do not… these are the ones I did not… It was probably about the boys and homework… I’ll remember for another entry…

Son1 is watching the Super Bowl with DIL and friends…

Son2 couldn’t decide between watching the Super Bowl with friends or with us… He chose us…

Son3 wanted to go to the neighbors to watch with his friend but they had lots of company already so we said no…

Hubby is disappointed that the 49ers are not doing well… Score is 21-6… He was hoping for a closer game…

I’m blogging, snacking and drinking Arbor Mist and watching the Super Bowl commercials…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

peace can be found in unlikely places.

Even in the darkest storms peace can be found by those who seek it. When turmoil and tension tear at your heart, pray for peace and most often you'll find peace in prayer. Of course there is no need to wait for a storm, pray for peace right now.
