Exodus 3:1-15

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, I will go over and see this strange sight – why the bush does not burn up.

When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, Moses! Moses!

And Moses said, Here I am.

Do not come any closer, God said. Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. Then he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

The Lord said, I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey – the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the city of the Israelites has reached me and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites out of Egypt.

But Moses said to God, Who am I , that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?

And God said, I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you; When you have brought the people out of Egypt you will worship God on this mountain.

Moses said to God, suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, What is his name? Then what shall I tell them?

God said to Moses, I AM WHO I Am, This is what you are to say to the Israelites, I AM has sent me to you.

God also said to Moses, Say to the Israelites, The Lord, the God of your fathers – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob – has sent me to you. This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

Last night and today, work was good… I was a bit grumpy at first yesterday but now I am settling back in to letting the day take me instead of trying to control the day… so I actually got a lot done last night and today… Tomorrow I go in early so we can set the new ad…

And tonight we change the clocks, so now it is 8 but really 9, which means when I get up at 4:30 it was 3:30… hubby says I’ll be tired tomorrow night…

But then I’m off on Monday and Tuesday…

Don’t know how son3 did on his tests… when hubby picked up from school for his doctor appointment the teacher did mention that he was missing a lot of assignments and he would send home the list on Monday… why can’t he send it home over the weekend instead of piling it on top of all the other homework…

Son3 got all his stiches out just fine… the doctor said in all his fifteen years, that was the longest splinter he had seen yet…

I just realized the other day that son3 will be on Spring break in a couple of weeks…

Hubby made breakfast for dinner and now after watching Bones, we are watching Grimm…

So besides laundry, it’s just TV and work…

Luke 13:1-9

Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners then all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them – do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Then he told this parable; A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?

Sir, the man replied, leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year. Fine! If not, then cut it down.

Yesterday was the longest day… Waiting all day for the District manager to come… he was due at 1pm and came on time… it’s just on visit day except getting ready for the visit we can’t start any big projects so makes the day longer… plus I’m still being pulled back and forth between electronics and hardware… I spend so much more time in electronics when there is so much more to be done in hardware… I never did see the district manager as he was in meetings with the store manager… so will find out today how we did… although it’s not really a visit as just his job to check in every week/month… everyone just panics so much more these days compared to back in the day when the district manager came to help and advise… which is still what they do today but I don’t know why everyone gets so stressed… he’ll be coming the next two Thursdays too for training sessions… I’ll be attending the second session…

Since I went in to work early, I got home early, making the evening longer… which should be a good thing, more time to get things done, but I had a headache again… a little one this time, but I am still so tired this week… so I spent too much time on the computer, ate too much before dinner, although dinner was just soup, got son3 done with his homework and in the shower, hubby picked up son2 from college and son3 and I were in bed at 6:30pm, not realizing it was only 6:30pm… we were studying his spelling words and for his geography tests… then we were watching Family Feud with Steve Harvey… hubby and son2 were watching it in the family room… and I was asleep by 9pm…

1 Corinthians 10:1-13

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the face, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.

Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry. We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did – and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should not test the Lord, as some of them did – and were killed by snakes. And do not grumble, as some of them did – and were killed by the destroying angel.

These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

This morning I was up by 6:30am, headache gone again… got son3 up and studying for his spelling tests… He is ready for his geography test… Hubby has taken him to school… He’s excited as he gets out an hour early today to go and have his stiches taken out… Son2 is still asleep… I have barely talked to him this week, he is always on his laptop, so I’m kind of ignoring him… I have paid the bills, checked email, checked on Facebook and played My Zoo 2… Hubby is asking what I want for breakfast… I don’t know…

It has been raining… because I turned the sprinklers back on for the spring…

I want to make some cards for Easter…

I need to put some blessings in the jar, I got behind for a couple of weeks…

I have Glee to watch this morning before work or tonight after work…

I want to get off this computer this morning and do some things in the house before work…

John 2:13-22

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!

His disciples remembered that it is written; Zeal for your house will consume me.

Then the Jews demanded of him; What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?

Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days.

The Jews replied, It has taken forty-six years to build this temple and you are going to raise it in three days? But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

Yesterday was my day off and I spent all day with hubby…

He got the boys to school and then we went to the grocery store…

I wanted to go to the Dollar Store and we wanted to go for a walk, so we walked to the Dollar Store… it was forty minutes each way… we walked through the neighborhood and along the water canal… I found some cheesy novels, four in all… three scary and one drama…

Then we still had a bit of time before son3 came home from school…

Once son3 was home it was time for homework… he has been getting detentions again last week and this week… for missing homework and one for disruptive behavior (he got caught talking in class)… one of his detentions was for homework that was handed out while he was out with his hurt leg…

I did not eat good yesterday… and I ate popcorn… not having a gall bladder I know better than to eat popcorn… but yesterday I put way too much salt on the popcorn and then while we were on the walk I kept my jacket on and got too hot and sweaty and may not have drank enough water… so by 5pm I had a BIG headache… I so wanted to throw up to feel better… instead I went to bed and passed out til 7pm… I got up, couldn’t eat so had something to drink, watched a bit of TV and then was back to bed…

Hubby took son2 to hang out with his friends to play pool to celebrate a couple of friend’s birthdays…

file003MA17437879-0020

So I wasn’t able to blog or help son3 with his homework or do any of my work that I wanted to do last night… I’ve just felt so tired lately and I guess everything just caught up with me…

Romans 10:5-13

Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law; The man who does these things will live by them. But the righteousness that is by Faith says: Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven? (that is to bring Christ down) or Who will descend into the deep? (that is to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming; That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for Everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved.

image005MA17511289-0020

Today I was still a bit shaky but off to work I went… I’m already behind from Monday so couldn’t miss today… I did my scans this morning in electronics… and then spent a bit of time putting away stock in the stockroom for hardware… then I went to lunch… did a bit of paperwork… received new receipts for electronics and spent the last of the day putting away more stock in the stockroom for hardware… and that wasn’t even a bit of everything that needs doing…

Tomorrow we have a store wide district visit so I have to be at work at 6am… and I have no idea what to expect from the visit… so whatever he finds wrong I will now know that is what he looks for and I’ll know a few more of my priorities for each day…

I’m still feeling a bit frustrated in my new job this week in not being able to get enough done every day… I don’t have time to be creative or socialize or mentor or do my own training…

posy

Son3 got another detention again today for homework that was assigned while he was out last week… now we would like to challenge the teacher but then son3 didn’t bring home the books needed to do the missing work… so how can we help him… today was early day and he was home for almost two hours watching cartoons and taking a shower before he even started homework… and then it was three more hours before homework was done… partly because when I got home I kept finding more homework he needed to do and then after finding out about the detention I had him do more homework that wasn’t due til Friday… and he got a lecture about applying himself and that he needs to spend as much time studying and learning as he puts into TV and video games… we do not allow video games during the week but he does go on his hand held DS and watches TV on school nights… he has not been reading his Halo book during the week cause he spends all his time doing homework so has to catch up on the weekend…

Son3 finishes his antibiotic in the morning and gets his stiches out after school on Friday…

Hubby and I are watching a cheesy horror movie on the chiller channel… The Telling…

And then it’s time for bed… I have to be to work early… and hubby has to take both boys to school… and then he gets a day to himself…

Ephesians 5:8-14

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord, Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: Wake up. O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

Watching The Bible on the history channel… It comes on every Sunday til Easter… hubby has set it to record on the DVR…

mbh

Went to work this morning… I wasn’t there an hour and wanted to cry… not because of yesterday, they actually got the ad set for the day… I knew when I went in today I was going to have to set the hardware ad as it changed over today… of course on Monday is my scanning and counting day in electronics… there is just so much to do every day in every department… electronics, hardware, sporting goods, lawn and garden… I did have two associates scheduled to help today and they got to stay later as there was extra hours since everyone called out yesterday… well two of the three did… so most of the day we put up signs and changed out bulk stacks of new merchandise on sale… I went to lunch late today, into my fifth hour, so that may be a write up… I did spend the last hour or so getting my counts in electronics done and checked my email… I still have online training I need to finish for last month and this month… so many, many things to do, workwise, managerwise… I do still love my new job though… maybe I’m just hormonal as I did tear up on the way home in the car…

Now I am home and off tomorrow… son3 was still doing homework… except for math he only had a bit of language and geography… we had leftovers for dinner and now watching TV… son3 still has to take a shower and get ready for school tomorrow… son2 did his homework for tomorrow… he has been having a bit of trouble with chemistry but is determined to finish the class even if he gets a D… he finished his online homework today which grades it automatically and he got a 95%… Son3 got his progress report last week and it was all C’s and D’s…

The Bible is very good… we are at the part where Moses parts the Red Sea… son3 is riveted and bouncing in his chair in excitement…

Hubby had computer issues today so didn’t get much job hunting done… so he worked in the yard a bit and trimmed the vines out of the tree…

Vikings comes on after The Bible and son2 is taping this one… it looks interesting too…

Time for chocolate cake and get ready for bed… and I’m thirsty…

John 9:1-41

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?

Neither this man nor his parents sinned, said Jesus, but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we mush do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud, with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. Go, he told him, wash in the Pool of Siloam. (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg? Some claimed that he was.

Others said, No, he only looks like him.

But he himself insisted, I am the man.

How then were your eyes opened? they demanded.

He replied, The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.

Where is this man? they asked him.

I don’t know, he said.

They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. Now they day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath. Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He put mud on my eyes, the man replied and I washed, and now I see.

Some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.

But others asked, How can a sinner do such miraculous signs? So they were divided.

Finally they turned again to the blind man, What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.

The man replied, He is a prophet.

The Jews still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man's parents. Is this your son? they asked, Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?

We know he is our son, the parents answered, and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him, He is of age; he will speak for himself. His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for already the Jews had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ would be put out of the synagogue. That was why his parents said, He is of age: ask him.

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. Give glory to God, they said. We know this man is a sinner.

he replied, whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. one thing I do know, I was blind but now I see!

Then they asked him, What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?

he answered, I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?

Then they hurled insults at him and said, you are this fellow’s disciple! We are disciples of Moses! We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.

The man answered, Now that is remarkable? You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. he listens to the godly man who does his will. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.

To this they replied, you were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us! And the threw him out.

Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, Do you believe in the Son Man?

Who is he, sir? the man asked. Tell me so that I may believe in him.

Jesus said, You have now seen him; in fact he is the one speaking with you.

Then the man said, Lord, I believe, and he worshiped him.

Jesus said, For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.

Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, What? Are we blind too?

Jesus said, If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
