March Thirtieth

fetchhbt

What a nice day off today…

I was up at 6:30am… didn’t want to miss anything…

I checked email and Facebook…

I even read some blogs… Since Google reader is going away come this summer, I have already found another place to read blogs called Feedly… It took a few times of clicking around but I think I have it figured out and it’s actually much nicer for reading blogs…

gb

Hubby and the boys were up not much later and we had pancakes and fried eggs for breakfast… had a Saturday breakfast talk with the boys that we haven’t had in a while…

We then had showers, got dressed and I started baking… discovering that I was out of vegetable oil…

We brought out the baskets for the boys and we all opened our baskets…

I did have enough oil to make the carrot cake and hubby went and got me more oil after we opened our baskets… I’ll share pictures of the baskets tomorrow or so…

Throughout the afternoon the boys were on their games, hubby was watching old movies on TV, hubby and the boys also colored eggs and I was baking and back and forth from the backyard to the laptop…

IMG_0004

The very delicious ham we had for dinner… with garlic cheese mashed potatoes, stuffing, creamed corn, cranberry sauce and rolls…

IMG_0054

Coloring the eggs… we tried Kool aid this year adding the egg color tablets to the lighter Kool aids like lemonade…

IMG_0065

Very pretty…

IMG_0066

IMG_0067

I baked brownies, lemon bread in mini bundt pan and pumpkin bread…

IMG_0068

I baked a carrot cake but it stuck to the pan a bit and the frosting was very soft and was melting off the cake not because  the cake was still hot but because it was hot in the house… Partly from the oven being on most of the day and partly because it was 85 outside today… we turned the air conditioner on for a bit this evening as I was sweating… Now it’s very windy outside and much cooler and it might rain tomorrow…

IMG_0060

The yard decoration on the right was in my Easter basket from the dollar store…

IMG_0059

These wind chimes I got from the dollar store last year and never did anything with them so today I finally hung them in the yard…

IMG_0061

A butterfly and dragonfly…

IMG_0062

We put some snail bait out in the yard today as these pesky little guys ate all the pumpkins that had sprouted up and are eating all the new leaves and buds off of son2’s orange tree…

GT02548A

There was still lots more I wanted to do today… go for a walk, watch some movies, do more on the laptop, read more blogs, go through my work papers, finish the laundry, clean my room… but there is just so many hours in the day…

GT02569A

Now dinner is done and we are watching TV… Raising Hope, Modern Marvels: Underwear, Grimm…

Hopefully to bed early tonight as I have to be to work early tomorrow to set the ad…

John 19:17-30

Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull. Here they crucified him, and with him two others – one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: Jesus of Nazareth, The King of the Jews. Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. The chief priest of the Jews protested to Pilate, Do not write The King of the Jews, but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.

Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.

When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece form top to bottom.

Let’s not tear it, they said to one another. Let’s decide by lot who will get it.

This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, They divided my garments among them and cast lot for my clothing.

So this is what the soldiers did, Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother. From that time on, this disciple took her into this home.

RooPaintsEggsRoxy

Hubby needs to boil eggs today so the boys can color eggs tomorrow…

And the Easter baskets are still waiting to be assembled… Why is it Easter and Christmas we are always up til midnight the night before getting ready when we have everything for weeks, months even, that we need…

Be determined to know God—not to just know about Him. (Phil 3:10)

Don't give up! God has not given up on you.

Today is “Good” because so many years ago, the result of that day—Christ's resurrection on Sunday—was good!

We are in for a sad life if we let other people determine our level of joy.

John 13:1-17

It was just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world; he how showed them the full extent of his love.

The evening meal was being served and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariout, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal; took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he pouted water into a basin and began to wash his disciples feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, Lord, are you going to wash my feet?

Jesus replied, you do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.

No, said Peter, you shall never wash my feet.

Jesus answered, Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.

The, Lord, Simon Peter replied, not just my feet by my hands and my head as well!

jesus answered, A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his fee; his whole body is clean. An you are clean, though not every one of you. For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. Do you understand what I have done for you? he asked them. You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger, greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

It was off to work again this morning… I was still in a bit of a mood…

Of course the morning did not go my way… Technology was not on my side and the handhelds were just not working for me…

So the only thing I could do was adjust my attitude and be thankful for the day…

So after going in circles all morning I finally got one and a half things done and went to lunch…

-easterblink3

I had lunch and am now reading the third book in the Vampirates series…

I then just stayed in the break room and worked on all my paperwork…

After that I put up some signs and did some counts…

-easterblink4

I ended up staying late at work to talk to one of my old associates, give my closing associate instructions for the night and then I bought some jammies for me and batteries for my pedometer…

Once home I checked email, heated up leftovers for dinner and now we are watching Arrow and Supernatural…

-easterblink5

Two more days til Easter… Hubby got a ham today and eggs to color… I still need to get the baskets all together for the Easter Bunny, oh that’s me now according to son3… I need to do some baking of cakes and cookies… I think I will put the ham in tomorrow morning before I go to work and then hubby can take it out when it’s done… That way on Saturday while the boys are coloring eggs I can do some baking… We’ll also be having our baskets on Saturday and eating the ham… We’ll actually be having Easter on Saturday as I am off then and have to work on Easter Sunday…

Now we are watching Hawaii Five O…

I am going to process the pictures from the zoo…

Each time we act to improve the life of another person… we send forth a ripple of hope in what appears to be a hopeless society.

Our weakness is one of our greatest excuses. We may be weak, but God is strong, and He is willing to be our strength.

Having faith is not complicated, it is simply leaning on God in trust and confidence.

Everything we do is sacred if we do it unto the Lord and we believe that He is with us.

God forgives us for more than anyone could ever possibly owe us, and we must learn to be as merciful and forgiving as He is.

“Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good…” -Psalm 37:3

Matthew 26:14-25

Then one of the Twelve - the one called Judas Iscariout – went to the chief priest and asked, What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you? So they counted out for him thirty silver coins. Form then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?

He replied, Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, The  Teacher says: My appointed time is near, I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house. So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. And while they were eating, he said, I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.

They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, Surely not I, Lord?

Jesus replied, The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. The Son of Man will just as it is written about him. But woe, to that man who betrays the Son of Man! Iw would be better for him if he had not been born.

The Judas, the one who would betray him, said, Surely not I, Rabbi?

Jesus answered, yes, it is you.
