April Twenty Fifth-Twenty Seventh

wf

Rush, Rush, Rush…

Work, Work, Work…

I need two days just to clean the house…

A day to organize my thoughts and regroup…

A day just to relax…

And a day just to write in my blog…

I need a vacation…

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of work, boys, dinner, homework, setting up new phones, checking on the laptop, and sitting in a mindless daze in front of the TV…

images

Thursday was a stressful, frustrating day at work…

And then yesterday was a fine day at work…

I did spend two hours yesterday morning before work going through all my work paper piles so I felt more organized when I got to work…

There is just too much to do in a day, and I keep forgetting things as I get distracted, and then there are meetings, and manager duties, and ads to set, and signing, and floor sets, and stocking, and price changes, and scans, and counts, and paperwork, and new receipts, and customers, and every other little thing that comes my way… Plus we are having inventory next month so I am helping the new shoe lead…

But… each week I do have one good day where I see things getting just a little better… it’s just the other four days that are so frustrating… I just keep reminding myself it’s only been three and a half months…

Of course it’s not just work, it’s also at home…

Just doing one thing and it eats up so much time…

I’ve been working on this entry for half an hour already…

And I hardly wrote that much…

Hubby is making breakfast and I should be helping him…

We did watch two episodes of Joyce Meyer to start our day…

I did work late last night so it was midnight before we went to sleep…

My brain is in such a fog from the Gabapentin and not getting enough sleep lately…

I close again tonight…

We did discover that hubby will not be getting a call back from Graybar even though he called them because they have reposted the job opening again… so I guess no one that was interviewed got the job…

He has been super excited since we got the phones though and has had positive thinking on some of the jobs he applied at this week…

I am feeling overloaded with all this technology at the moment and still have not gotten on a routine of reading blogs…

Even son2 upgraded his phone to the one I got and received his yesterday…

Hubby and the boys are hopefully planting all the plants we bought the other day this weekend…

Hopefully I’ll have a moment to walk among the roses before I go to work as it will be dark by time I get home…

I have one big project planned for my day at work today and direction of several projects for the associates today…

Hopefully it will be a good day…

Hopefully I will at least get organized at home and do a bit every day instead of saving it all for my day off and then getting nothing done and getting down on myself…

It’s all just to remind me that I am not in control…

God Is…

Five minutes of communication can save a year’s worth of turmoil and misunderstanding. –Joyce

The habits that are the most difficult to make are probably the ones that will be the most beneficial to you when you have had victory. If a door is difficult to open, don’t walk away, just push a little harder.

Say good-bye to the things that are stealing your peace and joy and get on with God’s plan for your life! -Joyce, "Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits"

God’s Word is our spiritual food and without it we cannot grow and become strong in Him. -Joyce, "Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits"

Remember, whatever you need, prayer opens the door for God to work.

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." -Colossians 3:2

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. " -Proverbs 4:23

Nothing will make sense if you're not centered on God first.

Today can be effortless as you depend on God’s grace to do what He has called you to do.

Decide to be a blessing to everyone you meet today. Forgive anyone who has hurt you, and leave unresolved circumstances in God’s hands.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you are to let grace flow freely from your heart.

Think back over the last few days, - how many times have you felt appreciation towards another? How many times have you thought about another: 'what a lovely smile', or 'she is so nice', or 'such a kind man', or any of a myriad of other appreciative thoughts. Did you express them? Did you come up to her and say: 'you are so nice'? And why not? Why did you stop divine grace from flowing freely from your heart? Do you want to change the world to the better? This is it, this is how you start.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

be gentle with yourself.

When you ask God to forgive you for past mistakes and transgressions, don’t forget to forgive yourself.

Once again the day has run away from me…

Tonight’s distraction was hubby and I were playing with our new phones…

So much to learn and so many buttons and apps to push…

I’ve downloaded Facebook and Blogger and Pinterest and Feedly…

Next I need to put in phone numbers… I do have hubby and the boys and we practiced calling each other and texting…

Now it’s time for bed and I still have to do some paper work I brought home from work or maybe I won’t…

Time to get the boys in bed, they have school tomorrow…

April Twenty Second

I got all my scans and counts done at work yesterday but then not exactly done, done…

I’m always a day and an hour behind at work…

We have inventory in a month and starting to get ready for that…

I’ll be taking inventory in my new department and then helping in shoes too…

Hubby had spent the day, actually five hours on the phone with the tech guy from U verse as the main computer was getting no internet that is plugged into the unit… the wifi was working just fine… so after finding some issues with the computer and cleaning it up, restoring to an earlier date and then completely erasing the whole computer, the issue was still not resolved… so a tech was scheduled to come out today between 12 and 4… I did not want to spend my day off waiting for the tech guy, so I asked hubby if we bought the router to plug in to the USB port then we could just use the wifi and then we could remove the plug from the unit and not have to bother with the tech guy coming…

For dinner we had leftovers and soups and whatnot…

We finished watching season two of Game of Thrones…

This morning hubby got the boys off to school and college…

He went to his interview and was back in just a half hour as the store is just up the street…

It was of course for entry level starting with cart retrieval and odds and ends about the store including cleaning the restrooms… Everyone starts this way at most grocery stores and have to work their way up the chain… he did say that you could be in the position for years waiting your turn to move up… however even though it’s minimum wage you do get at least twenty hours a week and more during the busy times… They’ll be making a decision by next week…

Since hubby was on the phone all day yesterday don’t know if Graybar tried to return his call from Friday, of course they did not call today, although we have gotten quite a few hang-ups today…

Hubby and I went to Walmart to get the router and a few groceries…

The internet came right up using the router for the wifi, however with the computer being wiped clean it’s going to take another five hours just to update everything…

I was up at 6am and still only got one or two things done around the house… It must be me, I can’t seem to get anything done at work or at home…

I have so much I want to do and write about…

I was a bit grumpy with hubby when he came back from his interview… especially since he was only gone 45 minutes… I told him until he got a job that he needed to find a hobby or sign up for a class so he was out of the house for at least four hours once a week so I could have a bit of alone time in the house so I can get some things done without all these boys under foot… including hubby…

Son3 got his homework done quick so he could play with his friend while hubby was picking up son2…

I put the laundry away…

We had lasagna and bread sticks for dinner…

And now we are watching season three of Game of Thrones…

The UPS man just came and brought the new phones… hubby and son2 will take them in to get them activated tomorrow…

April Twenty First

IMG_0007

This morning we had leftover strawberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and spam…

Got the boys moving and we went to OSH to check on arbors for the rambling rose that is almost blocking the side gate to get into the backyard… they didn’t have any but the boys did get some cactus and new pots…

IMG_0008IMG_0010

Then we went to the nursery and son3 wanted some marigolds… so we planted them in a pot for the table so the snails wouldn’t get them…

IMG_0006

And we got these bushes for the front side of the house… we’ve been seeing them all over the neighborhood so figured they would survive in our yard…

IMG_0018

And I got some more gerberas for the front yard…

IMG_0003

Then we couldn’t resist this rose bush…

IMG_0004

And then realized when we got home that no wonder we liked it, it’s just like the ones we already have…

IMG_0005

And the spot we were going to put it was too small so I’m thinking I’m going to pull out this English tea rose as it doesn’t grow like I want it to… it’s branches grow about five feet and then just lay all over the ground… and we will put the new rose here as this spot needs some color…

IMG_0015

Hubby and son2 working in the yard…

IMG_0016

Backyard after son2 mowed it yesterday…

IMG_0012

Back side yard… the very last rose bush on the left has a bird nest in it…

IMG_0023IMG_0024

Closer view of the bird nest… no eggs in it though… although yesterday the mother bird was having a fit on the roof as I was working too close to the nest…

IMG_0008

I’ve been debating back and forth on whether to get me a cell phone… hubby and I had cell phones about ten years ago but hubby barely used it so it didn’t make sense for us to have them if he didn’t answer when I called him… then son1 and son2 had cell phones so if we needed to get them we could call from the house phone or vice versa… when hubby had the temporary UPS job a bit back he would borrow son2’s phone while he was out and about soliciting copies for UPS…

Until recently we’ve been paying for son2’s phone so I didn’t want to add the expense of another phone with hubby not working… and I’ve always given hubby a hard time about us paying for cell phones to use for work… however being a manager and current times it would be better for work if I had a cell phone… and hubby was telling me yesterday that he has passed up lots of job applications that require cell phones and or laptops…

So today before we went shopping I ordered hubby and I phones from Cricket… we like Cricket for the monthly fee and no contracts so we can cancel at anytime…

Son2 is going to upgrade his phone to the one I got, hubby has a simpler phone, and put his account in his name and then we will cancel the account we have for him now and just have hubby and my new account…

And then we’ll see how it goes paying wise with hubby not working and if we use them as much as we should… and maybe hubby will get a job where he needs to use his phone…

IMG_0022

We also got Slurpee's today… they were out of banana and orange so son2 and I had to get cherry coke… hubby got pina colada and son3 mixed everything together…

I made teriyaki pork with bell peppers, squash and zucchini over rice for dinner…

I didn’t get hardly any of what I wanted done this weekend… once again my house is not clean… but we did get out and about and spent time with the boys…

Back to work tomorrow…
