November First

Son3’s Jack O’ Lantern… Halloween was great!

We were all off Sunday… Hubby made pancakes for breakfast, the boys carved son3’s pumpkin, and we set up the yard for the trick or treaters… Son1 was home too and girlfriend came over… Hubby helped her carve a Hello Kitty pumpkin and son1 carved a Jeep pumpkin… I have lots of pictures to share in a slide show…

Son3 was a ghoul/crypt keeper but took off the mask to give out candy, got bored with that, took off the whole costume and ended up at his friend’s house next door… So I gave out the candy/pencils/toys… We only had probably about 100 trick or treaters if that… I still have lots of pencils left, a few toys and some how more candy than we started with as we bought two bags in case we ran out… Save it for next year… Although next year Halloween will be on a Monday, we will have to see how that works out with everyone at work and school for setting up the yard… There were still large groups of trick or treaters for a Sunday night but only from 6:30-8pm… Not many houses had their lights on though even on our street…

Our yard got many compliments… and some remembered the werewolf from last year that son2 was dressed as, they were poking it to see if it was going to move… many were taking pictures of him, plus the whole yard this year and pictures with son2 as the scarecrow… Everyone said thank you as I handed out the treats… One girl said thanks for scaring her mom… another little girl of about 3 wouldn’t say trick or treat or thank you, her dad said she was shy… so I just waved good bye to her and when she got to the end of the driveway I heard her say to her dad, I don’t like this… too funny, not her being scared of son2 but that she got over her shyness to leave an opinion…

The star of the show: son2… No one believed he was real until he got down off the post, lol… but then they were just as amazed as he got back on the post to see that he still didn’t look real… I’m thinking he can be the scarecrow again next year as not everyone got to see him this year… So he can do an encore performance…

Today was back to school and work for everyone… but not quite… I was up and off to work, son2 was up but saying he didn’t feel well… son1 didn’t get up and later threw up… son3 went off to school… hubby was home cleaning up Halloween… son2 missed school and son1 called out of his full time job but went to his part time job… he’s home now, feeling better and hungry… son3 had a substitute so even his teacher was off today… I was supposed to be on vacation until Thursday… VIP visit tomorrow… Today was not a fun day at work with everyone getting ready for the visit…

First day of November starting my goals… son3 didn’t have too much homework since he had a substitute… started preparing the Halloween pictures… we watched Hogan’s Heroes… took apart all the Halloween figures… lots of laundry to wash now before packing it away… read a book with son3… now hubby and I are watching  Criminal Minds and getting the boys settled in for the night… we are all tired from all the excitement of yesterday… well except for son3 who is never tired…

Today I ate: vitamins, green tea tablet, water… lunch~chimichanga, yogurt, cola… Halloween cookie… 3 pcs. of candy… tortilla chips and salsa… dinner~turkey burger, sausage hot dog, veggies, water… root beer float…

Not a very good start to my first day but actually less than what I have been munching on lately…

pedometer~14230 steps…

Happy Journaling…

Glad you all had a great Halloween. Too bad that visit interrupted some vacation time for you but at least now that is over. I never put half as many steps in one day as you do. I think that is one good thing about your job. I have lost weight since I quit working though. Today I'm wearing a pair of jeans that I've not worn for a couple of years. I'm glad I didn't throw them out. I hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!
