God Wants You to Know…

 IMG_0002

On this day, God wants you to know

... that dilemmas cannot be solved. Sometimes you may find yourself in a dilemma where you are ''damned if you do, and damned if you don't.'' You cannot solve such dilemmas by choosing a side because both paths lead to suffering. The only way out is to transform your perspective to a place where the dilemma no longer exists. This is possible.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's a sin to miss an opportunity to bless and to praise another being. When you see another doing something wonderful, or simply being breathtaking, come out of your shell and let them know how inspiring they are. Yes, even if it's a total stranger. Do not miss these opportunities to let God's grace flow through you.

IMG_0007

On this day, God wants you to know

... that vices can be turned to virtues through awareness. Look for a daily practice to cultivate your awareness.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's good to remember. Think about the times that you felt close to God, when love and joy pulsed through your veins. Dwell on these times, especially when life isn't easy and trouble seems to compete for your attention. Any situation can be improved if you remember to remember God.

IMG_0009

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your seriousness feeds your ego, and keeps you away from God. Seriousness makes you dull and dry. It feeds your sense of self-importance, that becomes a mountain between you and God. Drop your seriousness, and open the path to God.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you have immeasurable potential. Just as a tiny seed can become a giant redwood tree, you have only scratched the surface of your potential. You have the creator of the universe on your team and you've been given the ball, so run with it. Run knowing that you have immeasurable potential.

IMG_0011

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's time to let people see your inner beauty. It's time to let people know the real you. Be who you are, not who you think people want you to be. You are more beautiful on the inside than you realize, and you need to share that beauty with others. Be transparent, let your guard down, let people know the real you.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that sometimes cats are good role models. Sometimes one of the best things you can do is simply take a nap in the delicious sunshine.

IMG_0012

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you were not created to remain within the confines of a building. There is a whole big beautiful world that was created for you. Go forth into it! Humans were not made to be indoor creatures; nature is our true playground.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that strength is available. When you are at your weakest, God is strong. When you are down, God can lift you up. When all seems lost, God will help you win. Strength is available when you need it. Believe it, embrace it and rely on it.

IMG_0013

On this day, God wants you to know

... that encouragement is important. Everybody needs to be encouraged, including you. Keep doing the best you can, you've got what it takes and you are going to make it. Remember to encourage others to pursue their own dreams. Build each other up, encouragement is important.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you feel yourself floundering in the sea of life, try leaning back and floating. Let yourself be supported. Gaze into the beautiful sky and allow time for your spirit to be refreshed. Then when you are feeling stronger, simply choose a direction and start swimming.

IMG_0015

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you can get through a bad day. When you're having a bad day, you have a choice. You can complain and gripe and dwell on the misery, or you can let go of it and look for the good, and maybe, just maybe, even laugh about it.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that hope never leaves. Sometimes you can't see it or feel it. Sometimes hope seems far away. Often the difficulties you face make it seem as if hope has abandoned you. But hope never leaves. It is always there, ready for you to embrace.

God Wants You To Know…

imagesb

On this day, God wants you to know

... that today you should take a vacation from worries. Take this moment to conjure up a fond memory. A time in your life when you were content and happy. Dwell on that moment for a while, let those feelings of contentment permeate your soul. Today is a good day to be content, so take a vacation from your worries.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there is a right time for each of the things you do. If you try to live counter to your personal rhythms, you will expend more time and energy to get things done. Body and soul suffer when you force yourself to wrestle against your own rhythms. Listen to your rhythms and follow them.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. People are always judging each other and, the truth is, they're not very good at it. Don't put a lot of concern into what people think of you. You weren't created to please and entertain everyone. You were created to be you, so feel good about yourself.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that the world never delivers on its promises. Make more money and you'll be happier, get a bigger house and you'll feel satisfied, buy fancier clothes and people will admire you - the materialist's mantra. But there is always a bigger house, someone making more money and a new style that makes your expensive wardrobe obsolete. Pursue things that deliver: take care of each other, love one another and believe in God. These are things that deliver, and that's a promise.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you can find meaning in the storm. At times everyone goes through trials and tribulations. Seek out someone else in a similar situation and give them an encouragement or just a hug. Find meaning in the midst of your struggles by helping another in similar straits.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you can be an encouragement. Everyone needs encouragement, but it's so easy to forget to take the time to give it. Think of someone in your life whom you appreciate today, or someone who made you smile, - and tell them! Even if it's a stranger, take a moment to let them know you noticed.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you were created to be alive. You weren't made to simply survive until you die. Live it up, embrace life. This entire planet exists for all God's creatures, - and that includes you. Don't wait to start living, begin right now, with your very next breath. There are many wonderful experiences waiting for you, so get going.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that acceptance brings peace. Accept your own beauty and your limitations. No sense in trying to be who you are not.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that no matter what happens to you, you always have freedom of mind. That means you always have freedom to choose the path of virtue over the path of suffering, to choose being one with God over being alone.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it is also important to know what you do not want. Sometimes when you go through a period of great difficulty and struggle, it is so that you can finally realize what you do NOT want in your life. Then finally, at long last, you can embrace what you DO want.

Below are my facebook updates about hubby the last few days…

Oct 5th

Back from visiting Bill... He had to have an ultrasound done on his kidneys but they checked out fine, so just reaction from the surgery and it will work itself out in a few days... He was sitting in a chair and shaving when I got there... he called this morning to ask me to bring some tang/lemonade powder to add to his water as the hospital food all tastes yucky to him... lol... he is being such a patient with his wants/needs with the nurses... I walked with him up and down the hall; I made him go farther than they had told him to go the day before... and after getting him settled back in bed they gave him some morphine and brought his lunch... since any medicine they give him causes him to fall asleep, I left early again today... he'll call later when he wakes up though... they are saying maybe he can go home tomorrow...

Oct 6th

Cleaning the house while waiting for Bill to call... they won't let him come home til the bowels are moving... so I'm staying home today so he can concentrate, lol...

Bill just called... he didn't have a good night but this morning he has shaved and brushed his teeth... went a whole four laps walking around hallway... and the air is finally passing causing him to feel a whole lot better... so now just waiting to hear from the doctor if he can go home this afternoon...

Bill just called to tell me he'll probably be calling later to come pick him up but he doesn't know for sure but probably..........

I'm off to pick up Bill...

Oct 7th

Bill had a good night, even slept in the bed, didn't even need to be propped up... Today he has been up and about, shaving, showering, making his own breakfast, snacks, drinks and lots of resting time on the couch... No Nurse Linda needed here...

Oct 8th

Bill Update: It only hurts when he laughs... which is very fun for us...

What I've been waiting for... Bill's first sneeze! It was a doozie... Chris, Frank and I laughed... Bill laughed too... Owwwwwwwwww... lol... we're so mean...

always in love with you

Now this afternoon we have just been watching all the shows I taped all week while hubby was in the hospital… Terra Nova, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Mike and Molly, Hawaii Five O… still to go Big Bang Theory, Person of Interest, The Mentalist and Fringe… Right now we are up to Hawaii Five O…

I’m making spaghetti and meatballs for dinner… made son3 pizza for lunch… made bean soup and fried chicken yesterday… tomorrow I’ll make chicken alfredo… trying to have enough for leftovers throughout the week since I will be back to work and getting off later since I will be taking son3 to school in the morning… son2 will be picking him up…

Son1 and fiance are off to a BBQ… Son2 is watching the shows with us… and son3 is playing his video games…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that freedom is within, not without. Freedom is much misunderstood as freedom from something, as outward facing. Such freedom is illusory. Real freedom is freedom from mental sins of desire, hate, prejudice. Real freedom brings peace, grace, bliss.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when you ask for advice, ask from those who had achieved mastery themselves. Ask advice on relationships only from friends who have deeply fulfilling relationships. Ask money advice only from those who are wealthy themselves. Ask advice on kids from your parents only if you are happy with the way you've been raised.

Below are my facebook posts from the last few days of hubby’s surgery updates… After two nights of sleep I’m starting to feel a bit better today… I was exhausted… So I hope to be back later today with a proper post… I’m having a bit of trouble with the start up menus on my laptop as half of them have disappeared along with half my programs although I see them in other folders so they are hopefully still there just can’t access them from start up… I did back up all my photos to a flash drive just in case… but as long as I can still get online I don’t want to mess with it just yet… may just take it to the Geek Squad so I don’t make it worse… I think it is because I have been hard closing my laptop because it has not been shutting down properly… according to some research I did… I’m getting an error message of 0x8007000d… Off to start my day and get son3 ready for school… It’s still raining… Love it…

Oct, 3rd

Surgery went well... It was done by 11:15am... recovery took longer as he had missed his blood pressure medication causing a rapid heart rate... so I wasn't able to see him til 1:30pm... then it was still 5pm before he was completely settled... and then 7pm before they got him settled in a room under observation for the night... I finally got home to the boys who had done a great job all day taking care of each other and getting Jacob to school, homework done and Frank made dinner... We're now settled for the night and I'll be back to visit Bill in the morning after getting the boys to school... The doctor said he got all the prostate and the lymph nodes and he feels good that all the cancer was got... Bill barely woke up all day with all the extra medication for the rapid heart rate so tomorrow I'll let him know how the day went...

Oct, 4th

Brought Bill his bags he had packed before surgery and some sunflowers to cheer him... He was awake when I got there and had had clear liquids for breakfast... he said he was awake on and off throughout the night so he watched a bit of TV... he is still in the observation room... his heart rate and blood pressure are fine now... however they are keeping an eye on his blood count and still may need some blood before he leaves... and they are watching his kidneys which should improve as he drinks more... he did sit up for a bit with his feet over the side of the bed... and he had soft foods for lunch... I was going to visit til 2pm so I could pick up Jacob from school but they gave Bill some Vicodin and he was falling asleep so I left early at 1pm instead... Thank you for all the wonderful messages, emails, comments, good thoughts and love!!
Bill just called!!!!!!! after I left him and he had his Vicodin nap, they got him up and walking down the hall and shaving and when
he was talking to me on the phone he was sitting in a chair... now he is getting back in bed to get ready for dinner and watch TV...

Oct, 5th

Bill called again last night to say good night... He had a visit from his brother Barry and Mel... and then another three hour nap... which allowed him to be awake for some TV time where as I was going to bed... I'm feeling much more rested today... And it's Pouring outside!! I love it! Two boys out the door this morning and one to go... I have to go to work for an hour or so to make next week's department schedule, then to visit Bill and pick up Jacob as it's early day...

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when the sun rises, it rises for you. Yes, for you. Just for you. Only for you. You are it, everything, the whole universe with all the billion galaxies and stars. The separateness you feel is only a mask you have put on to enjoy this human form. Under the mask, your shape is All. How far can you now feel your Self expand? To your parent?... to your child?... to your friend?... to a stranger on a street?... half way around the globe?

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are to trust yourself. If you do not, then you will forever be looking to others to prove your own merit to you, and you will never be satisfied. You will always be asking others what to do and at the same time resenting their help. Trust in yourself starts with being ok with the consequences of your decisions.

Cute-bear-15

Tomorrow is hubby’s surgery to have his prostate removed due to prostate cancer… Surgery is at 8am and will last about four hours… I worked this weekend and I am now on vacation for a week… Hubby will be in the hospital for about three to four days… I had planned to blog every day to share our ups and downs over the last couple of weeks… but instead I was busy at work and then home to dinner and spend the evening with hubby and the boys… I went through the crying stage and the mad stage… now I’m in the acceptance/numb stage…  My goal now is to just get through tomorrow…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's ok to be there for yourself. Amidst all the expectations, demands, requests, take some time to ground yourself in God. Take some time for yourself.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your ability to receive is equally important to your ability to give. Have you ever brought a special gift, working hard just to get it, only to be refused by the person you were giving it to? That didn't feel right, did it? Our relationships are greatly enhanced when we become not only generous givers, but generous receivers as well. When we know how to accept gladly, wholeheartedly, embracing the gift as an extension of the giver. It takes both giving and receiving for care and generosity to flow unimpeded.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your task is not to seek for love, but to seek and melt all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. God loves you with the very air you breathe, the very light that touches your skin, the very ground that supports you. Love is everywhere, - melt your barriers, and you will have love in abundance.

Cute-bear-22

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you don't go to find meaning in life, you bring meaning to your life. Meaning isn't something out there waiting for you to discover. The meaning of your life is what you infuse it with - beauty or ugliness, happiness or sadness. It is totally your choice, and God wants it to be your choice because God gave you free will.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when you create peace within your own being, it radiates out into the world. The world becomes a more peaceful place one person at a time.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that this world is filled with beauty. Allow yourself time to be nourished with the beauty of this world. Watch the sun rise, gaze at the ripples of water on the lake, listen to the songbirds, feel the breath of the breeze, glory in the colors of the sunset, feel the magic of the moon. This beauty is the air for your soul.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there are no bad people, only people with bad ideas. Have compassion towards such people, and help them sober up from the influence of bad ideas.

God Wants You To Know

IMG_0002

On this day, God wants you to know

... that humans learn only by trial and error, and that includes you. You've got to live life, not think about it. Step into the midst of things, try and fail and learn and stand up again. The question is not whether you will or will not make mistakes - you will. The question is do you want to learn and grow, or do you want to shrink back and be stuck? Take that step you've been avoiding. You can succeed, or you can get feedback that it didn't work, but in either case you are sure to feel alive.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's important to be gentle with yourself. Treat yourself as you would treat your dearest friend. Be kind to yourself. Be supportive.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that God loves you. Yes, God loves you. Very much. Unconditionally. Like a mother loves her child, unconditionally. Even as she slaps her baby's hand to protect from being burnt by a fire, her love infuses her whole being. So with God. God's love for you infuses the whole Universe.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there are times when you are called to be of service. Who could use a bit of kindness and love today? Who would benefit from a phone call, a visit, or an offer of assistance? You can be an angel in human disguise today.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you've been skipping out on God's most important gift to man - love. Love is the blood of the soul. God wants all beings to have healthy and strong souls, so God created a simple law to nourish the soul: the more you give love, the more you receive love. Remember all the beings you love - people, animals - that you haven't thought of lately. Do not wait anymore, reconnect with them today and express your love.

christmas-mats-country-snowmen-xl

One of my mornings where I wake up at 6am and can’t go back to sleep as my brain is thinking so I doze in and out having weird dreams… Up at 6:30am to get the big boys off to school and work, tried to go back to sleep and then up at 7:30am to get son3 ready for school…

Hubby called the plumber this morning and he was here within a half hour and pipes fixed for $90 within an hour… Would have cost hubby as much just to get the tools needed to do the job… and less hassle with the plumber doing it… they were the original plumbers from when the house was built anyway… Now hubby has gotten the rest of the parts needed and has just finished installing the water heater… still less than what the installers would have charged and we probably still would have had to call the plumber as the installers wouldn’t have fixed the existing pipes to the house… now hubby has turned the water back on and just waiting for the pipes to clear so he can check and make sure the water heater is working…

So yay I get to have a hot shower before going to work this afternoon… son1 came home to a surprise last night of a cold shower and hubby and son2 had cold showers this morning… so glad my co worker asked to switch closing days with me as I would have had a cold shower this morning too… so hopefully the night at work goes as smoothly…

The doctor office also called this morning, so no, hubby did not make it to work today with all the water heater and then doctor calling… His surgery is October 3rd… and his pre op appointment is Sept 19th… So I will put in for vacation for Oct 3-9… I am originally off the weekend after his surgery so that works out perfect so I don’t have to switch weekends or have anyone cover my weekend for me… the only problem may be my closing night as the other manager may be out on maternity leave but with all the vacations and medical leaves lately we have all been covering for each other so someone can cover for me too… they will have a temp lead by then to cover for the manager on maternity leave…

Hubby is here now talking to me so guess he is done and the water is back on… so need to do some laundry and dishes before I head to the shower and then to work…

sunflower-bird-house-note-cards-268-p

We watched Thor last night… It was very good and quiet funny…

Discovered yesterday that the reason son1 had made dinner the other night was because whenever I work late hubby usually makes pizza for dinner and son1 wanted something different for dinner besides pizza…

Son1 picked up our new water heater yesterday… hubby installed it this afternoon only to discover that the main water pipe had corroded… so the water heater is installed but not able to work until the pipe from the water heater to the house is repaired… so hubby may have to have a plumber come if he can’t sauder a new pipe himself… he was quite grumpy when I got home today… so cold showers until we get it fixed…

Son2 got a haircut yesterday… he was also nominated at school for best hair for the yearbook…

Son3 didn’t have much homework yesterday and we had time to study for his spelling test and do some extra language/grammar practice… Son3’s teacher chose to leave a phone message for me to call her instead of just replying to my note… I have a feeling she was responding to son3 taking three hours to do his homework instead of my question of him having a detention for not finishing one question…

We are watching Twilight Zone Marathon II from Halloween 1988 that hubby taped…

We did not have our visit at work today, it was changed til tomorrow… More time to get ready… Today was an ok day… I just wish we could get more done in a day or at least look better from all the work we are doing… I wish my associates were more motivated to feel more accomplished instead of just getting through the day til time to go home… I spent most of the day doing price changes… had the manager on duty phone a couple of hours in the morning… had a very upset customer who I never had the chance to help as he just wanted to yell, get more upset and then hang up… went to lunch… finished the schedule… finished the markdowns… opened boxes… and time to go home already…

I had lots to write last night but I was too busy watching Thor and now I can’t remember what all I was thinking…

The kittens are becoming such characters… Indy has a paper fetish especially napkins… she carries whatever paper or napkins she finds around in her mouth… and Maple has an ice cube fetish since she has discovered that sometimes we drop ice from the freezer when we are filling our glasses… so now she comes running even if we haven’t dropped a piece just to wait for a piece to fall…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that YOU are the gardener of your soul. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of expecting someone else to leave you wilted flowers.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your deepest connection to God is through your beloved. You are most open to God when your heart is wide open, and your mind is settled and worry-free. For most of us, this happens in the presence of our beloved.

welcome snowman

I’m so ready for Fall and cooler temps so I can turn off the air conditioner… 92 degrees today with mid eighties to low nineties into next week…

I am enjoying another quiet morning with everyone off at school and work and me having a day off… I have dishes piled in the sink and laundry waiting to be put away… bathrooms need cleaning… and I want to do a BIG declutter of the house that will take the next five years… but here I have sat on the laptop all morning… but I actually feel accomplished… as I have posted picnic pictures to facebook and my photo blog Not Just Roses… and scheduled my entry for  The Motivation Station for tomorrow and posted an entry for today… and I have left comments and sent emails… and even clicked on some facebook games but nothing longer than a minute or two…

I was up early this morning although actually slept til 6am and didn’t wake up at 4:30am waiting for it to be 6am like I seem to do lately, to get the boys out the door… and I needed to print out the receipt so son1 can pick up our water heater today after work… then hubby should be able to install it this weekend and we won’t have water all over the garage floor anymore…

I worked last night so wasn’t here for son3’s homework… another reason for being up early to be sure all homework was finished (hubby and son2 do help him) and everything was signed and I had to write a note to the teacher as I didn’t agree to him getting a detention for not doing one math problem that he didn’t understand… but I think son3 misunderstood when she asked whoever didn’t finish their homework to write their name on the board and son3 figured since he didn’t do that problem he didn’t finish… remember the over three hours of homework from Monday night… and then he gets a detention… I don’t think so… Teachers and Doctors, they really shouldn’t mess with me…

meadow snowman

Monday night after all the homework and we had a good time watching Easy A, there was a tense moment when everyone was cleaning up and getting ready for bed… Son1 has a temper… gets it from his Dad… maybe a bit from me… Anyway he was passing son3 in the hall and son3 was being 10 as he does and son1 was being annoyed as he does… and hubby tried to interject not that we usually do as it just sets son1 off more… remember Twilight Zone where you get banned to the corn field by Billy Mumy… that’s how we feel sometimes… so anyway son1 gets defensive like a brother to us and all parental to son3… so I think ok I’m feeling calm, here’s my opportunity to say something… son2 doesn’t want any trouble and says Mom don’t… but I calmly say to son1 that I’ve noticed how we never discipline or correct or ask anything of him as he is 24 and we are trying to respect him as an adult but how it seems so easy for him to parent/discipline/yell at son3 and son2… so he gets all defensive as to how son3 was acting and I tell him this is about how you are acting… why can’t you just ignore him (we also have this problem with son2 and son3 but they are still both under 18 so we expect it)… and I know they are all brothers and it will happen… but it was my chance to let son1 know that we didn’t need his help raising the other boys as much as just his help living in the house, not that I said it like that exactly… just that he needed to stop yelling at them all the time like they have three parents…

So anyway when I got home from work last night son2 and son3 were already asleep but son1 was still awake… he told me that he had made dinner of BBQed burgers and hot dogs with side dishes and had done chores that I can’t remember cause I was so in shock I can’t remember what all he said and that he was going to use his new truck to pick up the water heater ( we could have picked it up in the van)… son1 can be very helpful when he wants to and offers it all the times but usually only follows through at home if it benefits him… and son2 was afraid we would be banned to the corn field…

And speaking of son2 he did his usual rising of everyone’s tempers when he got home from his friends last Saturday as he feels since he is almost 18 our rules are too strict… mostly because we don’t like him out after dark unless he has a ride so we wanted him home at 8pm and he didn’t get home til 9pm and he did get a ride but didn’t let us know… just like he didn’t let us know that he had fallen off his bike on the way there and scraped up his legs and that his friend’s house had a gas leak and the fire department came and that he had gone to Toys R Us… isn’t this why he has a cell phone just to give us a heads up… and we weren’t really mad until we try to state our concerns calmly and he gets all lawyer on us to the point no matter what we say he defends the opposite even if it goes against what he was just defending… so I tell him we have to get out of this habit of everyone getting angry and raising voices when by time we are done we are all laughing and agreeing and understanding each other… but he is a teenager and has to push our buttons first… I also tell him that part of the problem is we can’t get past this one rule of coming home on time which is a 13 year old rule so we can move on to the 15 year old rules… and he’s almost 18… sheesh… I may never let him drive…

Wow yesterday morning flew since I had to go to work and this morning is so nice probably cause I don’t have to go to work… still ten minutes til I would have to get ready if I was doing a closing shift… but I still have over an hour and a half before I have to pick up son3… then I can supervise his homework while I clean the kitchen and such… I’ve got pork chops thawing for tonight's dinner…

garden snowman

Hubby says that his work bought some programs so he can work in the store now instead of at home… but yesterday when he went in to install them internet explorer was conflicting with some things so today he will try again or be hitting the sidewalk to drum up more potential clients…

We still haven’t heard from unemployment…I need to pay some bills today too but we are still ok for the moment… I would just like to be better than ok someday so I can pay off my credit cards… and not have to always rely on them… One day at a time and God knows the plan…

Yesterday went so fast at work… I got nothing done but then partly as I knew I wouldn’t so I didn’t try… I cleaned the sale tables a bit, I had the manager on duty phone not that it was busy more that I was talking to associates and coworkers, it did get busy when it was time to pass the phone off so I didn’t go to dinner til after 6:30pm, then I made the schedule which made me late for closing duties and then it was time to go home… very fast night… and now tomorrow I open instead of close and we have a visit… so I’m glad I’m there in the morning to get ready as they are coming in the afternoon…

Well I could keep talking all day but I think I will go get some chores done as I still have so much time before son3 gets out of school…

Hubby talked with the doctor yesterday... they had a good talk and hubby feels good about the doctor doing the surgery... the doctor has done both procedures over ten years, we just don't have the robotic equipment at our hospital... and there is a smaller chance of incontinence after the first year with the open surgery vs robotic... hubby asked him about radiation pellets that his boss’s husband had used but the doctor said at hubby’s young age the surgery is the best and the results are usually cancer free and live a full life... which is why surgery was our first choice... so now we are waiting for the nurse to call to set a surgery date and pre op appointment... See it’s better if hubby talks to the doctor and not me…

I did not get as much done at work yesterday that I wanted, actually I think I only got one thing done and not what I wanted… I had planned on working in men’s work boots but started in the women’s clearance and was interrupted with the morning manager meeting, going to lunch, having the manager on duty phone, working with my new associate as the associate I had assigned to him called out sick, organizing a few men’s work boots in the stockroom and then it was time to go home…

Today I have to make the schedule for next week, have the manager on duty phone, prep my associates on what they need to do for the visit from the boss’s new boss for Thursday, go to dinner, maybe start on organizing the women’s fall shoes in the stockroom and then it will be time for closing duties…

Son3 had a ton of homework last night… hubby was distracted with waiting for the doctor to call so son3 only got one page of language homework done before I got home, then five pages of math homework and write his spelling words three times each in cursive… we finally had to break at seven to have dinner, luckily we just had left overs and then son3 finished his spelling after dinner…

We watched Easy A last night… it was quite cute and funny… girlfriend had let us borrow it and so son1 watched it with us… son1 is thinking of getting a different full time job… wants to look for something with chances of advancement… he doesn’t feel the company he is with gives him that… I’m thinking in this economy he is lucky to have a full time job… and girlfriend told him didn’t you just buy a truck, you don’t want to put yourself in a position with a new company of getting laid off… girlfriend started at her cosmetology school yesterday… she was excited and nervous… it is right next door to my work… she works full time and then goes to school at night… for the next eighteen months… I just remembered I’m supposed to call her fiancé now, not girlfriend…

Time to start getting ready for work… I got a couple of chores done this morning and was on the laptop a bit but the morning goes so fast…

We’re watching Paul… Quite funny… lots of sci fi movie quotes..

We decided to go on our picnic tomorrow… to Wawona in Yosemite…

The boys were grumpy and tired from school, and even hubby was kind of of in a mood today, but he’s entitled… I was good and wanted to get some things done around the house so we would come home to a somewhat organized house tomorrow before going back to work and school… if you visit The Motivation Station for our GIT Challenge today and read the comments you’ll see what all I got done today…

Son1 and girlfriend went to his two cousin’s babies first birthday parties today… I was up early helping him find gift bags, tissue paper and cards to wrap the presents… they’re still out and about for the day…

Son2 went off to his friends to play Monopoly… He was supposed to be home an hour ago as it’s dark now… he just called asking if he could spend the night when he knows we told him before he left no spending the night as we were going out tomorrow…

Son3 has been playing his video games all day… He is off to the shower now…

And if son2 would hurry and get home we could have some brownies and ice cream…

And then sleeping time… I’m tired…

On this day, God wants you to know

I am feeling good today… Still yelling of course but to get everyone motivated to get some things done not just yelling out of frustration…
I did not get as much done at work last night but it was  a good night… the system was down so no one has been able to make schedules yet… I also did not get as much scanned in the stockroom as I wanted… but we did get some clearance moved around on the floor to make room for tables of women’s fashion boots to go out today… tonight I’m hoping to get more scanning done in the stockroom and put out a table so we can put out the kid’s slippers… I’ll also have the manager on duty phone for three hours and after dinner have closing the store duties to perform… plus I wonder who I am closing with tonight as one of the other managers isn’t able to work as her husband had to go to the hospital…
Son1 sold his Jeep yesterday for $4500… $4000 for the down payment on his truck and $500 toward the $3000 he borrowed from a friend to buy his Honda many cars ago… leaving $600 he still owes the friend… he was refinanced and now will pay $340 a month which includes full warranty up to 100,000 miles on the truck and he got a lower interest rate than hubby and I got on hubby’s Liberty we just bought due to losing the Saturn when I was rear ended in an accident back on Fourth of July weekend… Son1 has worked 96 hours the last two weeks at his job… Girlfriend starts cosmetology school on Monday…
Hubby said he also had a bit of a talk with son1 about his plan for the next year and that we may need him to help out a bit the three weeks after hubby’s surgery when he’s home recuperating with his catheter… I am planning on taking a week off while hubby is in the hospital and his first days home…
I haven’t really seen son2 as he is asleep when I get home and I say good bye to him as he is the first one out the door in the morning…
Son3 did homework with hubby last night as I was at work… so this morning I went through his backpack making sure all homework was done and covered another one of his books… as soon as he was dressed and done with breakfast this morning we studied spelling words for his spelling test today… as he is in the 350 club at school for GPA 3.4 or better he brought money for the snack bar as he gets a discount when wearing his 350 shirt and badge… he was up at 3:30  this morning with a nightmare so watched Megamind until he could fall back asleep…
Hubby is off at work today… he finished writing up his training seminar and now must give it to his boss for approval… although he is also training them as they hired him because he is the copy expert…
The reason we have decided for hubby to have the surgery to remove the prostate is because it ensures the most chance of removing all the cancer… if they remove the prostate and find no cancer outside the prostate or none shows up in the years to come as it is very small and slow growing and not easy to detect at first then hubby will be cured and live out his life as intended… and understands the chance of side effects of incontinence and erectile dysfunction…
I am also feeling good probably because I have the weekend off… We are trying to decide to go for a picnic to the mountains or to the beach…
Hubby will be going grocery shopping today to get food for the week, stuff for a picnic and ingredients to make comfort stew that I will be putting in the crock pot tomorrow morning before we leave… check out the recipe at my entry at Our Krazy Kitchen tomorrow…
I didn’t think I would have time to do this entry as I wasted an hour at facebook playing Yoville and it kept causing me to lose internet connection and losing all the work I had done on my RV before I had a chance to click save… But here I am almost done and still have a couple of minutes before I have to start getting ready for work… and I even already had breakfast, lunch, vacuumed, cleaned up the dirt where the kittens keep getting in my houseplants, cleaned up the boys bathroom after the kittens as that is where we keep their litter box  and food and filled out a birthday card to go in the mail…

September Eighth

country-days-smooth-sailing
Got the boys off to school and son1 is off at work… I thought hubby was going to work as he was dressed but found out he was working at home writing up a training seminar to give to his fellow associates…
So instead of a quiet morning, I am having a grumpy morning… not that I don’t want hubby here but part of this whole part time job he has that is frustrating me is all the at home time instead of at a job time… so I either get used to him being home and then find out he is off to work or think he is going to work and then find out he is home because he doesn’t think to tell me his plan for the day… Yesterday I almost forgot to pick up son3 even though Wednesday is my normal day to pick him up cause I get so used to hubby being here, I forgot he was gone at work…
After having two days off since I called out sick on Tuesday I had got myself calmed down and had planned to get my mind back into a work mode for my own job this morning… But then hubby being home threw that all off… as he needed help getting into the hospital website so he could email the doctor which caused us to discuss more doctor/cancer stuff  which gets me all upset all over again… he does now have an appointment to talk with the doctor on Monday instead of next Friday on making a plan of what comes next… I understand the whole not jumping into a hasty decision but at least having a plan in place would be enough waiting time instead of just going home for two weeks to think about things… anyway no processes can begin til four weeks from the biopsy and then two weeks to prep hubby’s system for surgery… so the earliest surgery could be would be October 4th anyway… but then at least I could plan work/kids/ emotions if there was a date in mind… we’ll see what we find out on Monday…
My plans for work today are make the schedule, check email, walk my department, see that all the processes were done while I was gone, print out reports, cover the manager on duty phone for three hours, scan the stockroom in between calls, go to dinner, work a bit more in the stockroom, close the store and go home…
Son3 was still mad at me this morning and did not want to go to school cause he did not want to have to tell anyone that I said he could not do choir… I really want him to join something but my boys always pick the things that are the most committed and last all year… choir is also new this year so I don’t want to be subjected to the unorganized of it being new with all that is going on in the house… plus it is part of their GPA so if he has to miss a performance due to hubby’s doctor visits he will get a poor grade… besides he is still not the best student and needs to get into the likeness of reading… his grammar and spelling still need a lot of work… and choir would cause him to miss class time to go to practice twice a week…
I posted my question of the week over at The Motivation Station today…
I scheduled a post for Our Krazy Kitchen for Saturday… a comfort stew that I am planning on making on Saturday…
I am off this weekend so we may go for a picnic on Saturday just a matter of where…
Time to get my shoes on and start getting ready to head out the door for work…

September Seventh

Nothing on TV and no one can decide on a movie… Hubby is watching some nature show and the boys are showering and getting ready for school… Our water heater has decided to start leaking so we will probably be ordering a new one from Sears in another day or two…
Lots and lots going on here… Hard to put it all into words… So many emotions and I don’t even know what thought to settle on and deal with first…
kittens_wallpapers__32
Son3 is no longer playing football… he hurt his arm in a tackle in practice and it kinda shook him up so that he wouldn’t play in the first game and then told the coach he was quitting… the coach was very nice and told him to try again but son3 was sure so the coach told him he could try again next year… So now he is wanting to join choir but it is the entire year and during class… I think he would be good at it but so far he can’t tell me one reason why he wants to do it or what he thinks it will be like… so I’m thinking no for now… he’s mad at me…
Son2 has his list for everything that needs to be done for senior year… first thing done, Senior pictures today…
Son1 continues to plan for his future… he and girlfriend/fiancé just celebrated their two year anniversary… fiancé should be starting school soon… she finally got a payment plan of $500 a month instead of $1500 a month for cosmetology school… so two years of school for her plan… and she is working full time… son1 is still working full time too… all of his previous plans of finding a career are null… except for work helping him get his truck driving license… and the neighbor said he would let him know if any union/journeyman jobs became available… and he has decided to sell his Jeep to acquire the down payment needed for the 2011 Ford truck he just bought on Labor Day… payments for the next six years… he did mention to us that the Jeep was using $100 of gas a week and that he wanted to buy something for around $5000-$7000… but since he gets a discount from work and the car lot approved his loan guess he got caught up in the moment… and this is his idea of planning for the future… hope he still thinks that over the next six years as he is still making payments… meanwhile he still as other bills to pay off and the engagement ring he added recently… all while still living in my front living room… I’m mad as to how he thinks this is ok… I haven’t looked at the new truck nor am I barely speaking to him to show my disappointment not that he can see past his nose that I’m upset as someone told me recently…
wallcoo.com_Maday_Jane_2007_Kittens_Calender-00
Two weeks ago we found hubby has prostate cancer… as he has been monitored for several years now, they caught it early enough… but he still has it… I cried for twenty four hours off and on still going into work for half my shift as I was the closing manager… We went to talk to the doctor a week ago to discuss the next step we thought… but the doctor just wanted to make sure we read the book he recommended and to answer any questions and confirm the diagnosis he had already told us… I was very frustrated with the talk… We had already decided on surgery but he made it sound as if we were rushing into it too quickly and we had choices and decisions to make… he also told us to get a second opinion which was really at the same hospital in a different city two hours away because they did the robotic surgery that we don’t have here… so now we are home for two weeks to have more time to work through emotions, ya think, and decide for sure that we want the surgery… hubby has always known that he would want the surgery as his dad passed away from prostate cancer because he did not have the surgery… so the doctor and I had words…  I told hubby he needs to talk to the doctor without me, told him the doctor would not like me coming along, and make sure he likes him enough to treat him… so a week into our two week wait hubby is going to email the doctor some questions to help him make his decision… I think I have moved to the anger phase now…
wallcoo.com_Maday_Jane_2007_Kittens_Calender-01
i called out of work yesterday as I had a bit of an outburst as I was trying to get ready for work, even made it to the car but hubby directed me back in the house as I was in no condition to go to work in my mood of rage… With hubby's diagnosis it has just magnified everything else for me… and I was so angry about what son1 did… especially with worrying about our own finances with hubby still working part time and no benefits for the six weeks he will be recovering from his surgery… his new boss is sympathetic of his situation as her husband was also diagnosed with prostate cancer however in the past week or so they are getting divorced for other reasons… I am trying to take my work one day at a time… we survived back to school and are still recovering… Lots of people at work are having bad news lately too… such crazy times right now… and I tend to worry about others too and try to think how lucky we are and then at the same time I feel selfish thinking I want special treatment for my troubles right now too… never time to just stop and deal, days keep going, life keeps going on…
Hubby put in a Star Trek movie: First Contact… Son2 has already gone to sleep and son3 is calling to tuck him in… Hopefully I’ll take more time to work through my thoughts and emotions in my blog now…

God Wants You To Know

gbyb

On this day, God wants you to know

... that the great advantage of having nothing is that everything becomes a gain. Losing everything is at the same time the scariest, as well as the most liberating experience you can have. When you have something, - anything, you've got to protect it from disappearing. And so worry becomes a resident in your heart. When you've got nothing, your heart overflows with gratitude for every offering you receive.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your remedy for anxiety is the question: 'Will this matter in a year from now?' All too often you get so involved in things that you look at life through a microscope. Amplifying manifold, an invisible speck becomes an insurmountable mountain. Put down the microscope and imagine yourself a year from now looking back at today: 'Does this really matter?'

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when an impossible must happen, put it on God's to-do list. Well, if you can't make it happen, and no one else can, there is only thing left to do, - finally look up and trust in God to make it right.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that circumstances don't make you, they reveal you. How you respond to the life God offers you is what makes you.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's important to appreciate and respect the young ones. Let them feel your love. These children and young people will inherit our earth, and as they have been treated, so will they treat others.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that one good deed can shift the balance of the whole world. Never underestimate the power of your goodness and kindness.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are only as free as you imagine yourself to be. There is nothing ''out there'' that's holding you down, - you are limiting yourself only with your own imagination. And your greatest limits are not even the ''cannot'' and the ''should not'', but the places where your imagination hasn't yet gone at all. There has never been a better time for you to open your eyes, let the imagination soar and see what more is possible.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that until you learn how to say 'no', you will never be able to fully say 'yes'. Unless you know how to set boundaries to form your safe space, you will always be concerned that saying 'yes' might put you in danger. So you will always pull back a little from saying 'yes' with your whole heart. Paradoxically, knowing how to say 'no' to form boundaries gives much more power to your 'yes'.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that a lot of things you think are important, are just urgent, but not important. Focus on what really matters. A phone call for example is always urgent - it rings only a few times and is gone, but is often not important. If you are in the middle of something truly important - playing with kids, being present with your loved one, - do not stop just because a silly phone rings. Stay present with what's important now.
