IMG_0023

Friday… Home from work… Hubby made dinner… I have had a wine cooler and some Arbor Mist… We are watching lots of episodes of How I Met Your Mother… Girlfriend and son1 are here too…

IMG_0027

I have decided that why I don’t like Thursday is because it is my Monday cause today I was just fine… can’t handle my mood swings…

IMG_0028

Actually I was contemplating calling out today… I only have one attendance point for the year, we get twelve… but of course I went… spent most of the morning talking with associates on my team… work stuff and personal stuff in between… so I didn’t get much work done before lunch… after lunch I made the schedule and finally for the last hour of the day I finally got motivated and opened boxes for an hour… and made a list of what I am going to get done this weekend at work…

IMG_0031

We are still watching How I Met Your Mother… I’m watching more than typing…

IMG_0033

And sharing some more pictures from our trip to Monterey last month…

IMG_0034

On this day, God wants you to know

... that shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow. There is no need for you to go it alone. There are people who love you, and who are ready to give you much needed support. There are even more, - way more than you can possibly imagine, people who CAN love you if you give them a chance. Make 'share joy, half the sorrow' your motto for today.

July Seventh…

IMG_0001

Thursday already… of course it’s Monday for me, as I work the next six days in a row… I close tonight… I don’t have to close this weekend though, so that’s good… On Monday I have to go to Merced to help them with inventory… So I volunteered to drive the van as there are five of us going… We have to be there at 7am and it’s about a 90 minute drive, give or take…

Sharing some of our pictures from when we went to Monterey last month…

IMG_0002

The boys have been on summer vacation for four weeks with five weeks to go… They have done Nothing but lay around and play video games or watch TV… Son2 did read Eragon and has started Eldest… Son3 read a chapter of a Star Wars book and that was it… He hasn’t realized yet that reading can be fun and isn’t just homework… Son2 was in Middle School when he discovered reading was fun…

I just finished reading Nora Roberts In the Garden trilogy… So Very Good and it even has a ghost in it…

IMG_0016

Hubby and I are still not liking his new job… He did bring in one $400 job and got $23 commission for it… And now that the owner is back who hired him, he got his mileage check… He has only been there six weeks, feels longer… Will see what kind of feedback he gets now that the owner is back… I still don’t like that they don’t give him any resources or have any equipment to do the job, since it is a trial position to see if they can bring in the work before they buy the necessary items to do the jobs… Big Catch 22 going on here… and that he is part time, just over minimum wage and he is having to do the work from home and carry son2’s cell phone… Hubby is not a cell phone kind of person and I am not going to get him one just for him to use for work…

IMG_0017

I am still liking my job partly because the things that do annoy me, I knew they were going to before I applied for the job… I just wish I could feel accomplished when I leave work each day… but it is a never ending battle to get anything done… Always a mess to clean from customers and always boxes coming in of new shoes… plus every day reports and processes to do… and never enough time in the day… Tonight I have to put the hours in the schedule but won’t have time to actually make it until tomorrow as I am the manager on duty til 6pm… then dinner… then have an hour to do something… and then time to start store closing procedures and go home…

And maybe I would feel more accomplished at work if I felt more accomplished at home… My house is a mess… partly from the kittens as they are in toddler stage and getting into everything, so I have boxes and paper and whatever will entertain them all over my family room so they will stay out of my stuff.. And Maple is such an ankle biter… she is under my chair now, attacking my feet… and they both chew on wires, they chewed up my printer wires… so we have wires and blind cords all rolled up as high as they will go… but yes, they are so cute…

So my bathrooms need cleaning and my kitchen is never clean as it is the main walkway through the house to get from each room… I have kept up on the laundry but not put away… Hubby hasn’t been back to any of his projects in the yard since he’s started working and that it is in the 100’s now… another aspect he doesn’t like of his job, as he has to be outside walking/driving from business to business, sweating in his long sleeve dress shirt and tie…

So hubby and I are in a rut with our jobs, when we were so looking forward to change and new possibilities… And it’s nice that we don’t have to worry about school and homework with the boys at the moment but since our parenting is lacking with all that is going on, they boys are not helping out around the house at all… I’ve made them lists that they ignore or when we ask we have to ask several times before they even start to budge, including son3 who is going to be 10 and asserting his independence at the moment… Restrictions need to be applied to get them to act but I’m tired… and hubby will apply them on his day off but then not act again til he has another day off… because even when he is only working 4 hours a day, it is all about work with him…

I co-host a Motivation Blog and I can’t even find my motivation at the moment…

IMG_0021

Son1 is also busy as ever… I had to get up at 5:15 this morning to take him to work, his Jeep is in the shop to have some gears put in for the 4 wheel drive since he replaced the rear differential… So I had a nice drive in the Nissan Sentra rental car we have, I’ll tell that story in a moment… Son1 still has plans on joining the military… he has found a friend of a friend that is a teacher and has been tutoring him… even texts him questions every so often just to keep him on track that he has to answer back… he and girlfriend have also been looking at wedding/engagement ring sets as part of their plan was to get engaged if they stayed together for two years, plus him joining the military is a factor in that decision too… she will start cosmetology school in the fall…

IMG_0022

So back to the rental car… when I was coming home from work on Friday in the Saturn, I was involved in a four car accident… the car in front of me had just stopped at the light and I stopped behind her as it is a bit of an incline at that intersection so I remember thinking ok don’t roll back… I then heard a Big Bam but as I looked in my rear view mirror I wasn’t able to see anything because my seat broke and I was now laying down, thinking I need to stop the car as it wouldn’t stop rolling back and forth hitting the car in front of me… I realized later that I did have my feet on the brake and clutch all the time as the car was still running so it didn’t stall out… the lady behind me had been pushed into me because the van behind her did not see us stopped and slammed right into her… a young man who had borrowed his parents car without permission to give his younger sister a ride… we called the police who called tow trucks and asked if anyone needed an ambulance… when the ladies’ family behind me arrived they took her to the doctor’s as she was a bit shaken and banged up…we all exchanged information, the young man who caused it was very polite and stepped right up to take responsibility although he has a big lesson to learn now, and the girl just a bit older than son1 who I hit took control as she was a manager in retail on her way to pick up supplies so she was actually on the clock, she got a bit teary eyed after the first initial shock but with my support we were all able to remain calm and take care of each other… I was able to use her cell phone and call hubby…

The car was towed to storage for the weekend… the accident happened at 4:45pm and I was home before 6pm and on the phone with AAA by 7pm… we picked up the rental car on Tuesday, the Saturn was sent to the repair shop, who called yesterday to let us know that it would cost $4111.02 and that they would begin working on it… the front/rear bumpers, hood and driver seat were damaged that I know of… I was fine at the time of the accident until the adrenaline wore off and then the muscles in my back and neck were a bit sore, but I could still move around just fine… I even did my work as normal at work of opening boxes and no aches or pains showed up… No problem sleeping either… I researched whip lash online and it said it could take up to six weeks for all the muscles to recover and to take ibuprofen… I can already move my neck all the way around now… just still have a burning sensation in the middle of my back and back of my neck like a sunburn would feel… it goes away when I take ibuprofen though… still feeling better every day though and glad that nauseous feeling went away…

I’m back… Had a bit of a chat with son2 and son3 about chores and responsibility and how they affect others in the house when they don’t do them… and that computers and TVs will be taken away if things don’t change… which means the boys are up now… son3 already had breakfast, now son2 is looking for breakfast and we are out of milk this morning… and almost time to start getting ready for work and everyone will be wanting lunch…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that your soul is always in communion with God. When you feel lost, or afraid, or sad, - feel into your soul to find the strength of Divine presence.

Son1 is hooked on How I Met Your Mother… And has all of us hooked on it too including girlfriend… We just finished season 2 and now are starting season 3… Barney is so funny…

IMG_0006

I had the weekend off for the 4th… Put the pool up for son3… Had to work on the 4th, but that’s ok as it’s time and a half and holiday pay…

IMG_0004

Aren't the kittens so cute… of course they are asleep… all children are cute when they are asleep…

IMG_0004

Maple says peek a boo… who wants to go on a picnic… they are so curious… she knocked the nylon cooler over and crawled in… son2 had to lift the lid to see her inside, the bag was on it’s side…  we are constantly closing them in closets and rooms… then have to follow the mew to find them again…

 IMG_0009

Hubby made his burgers on Sunday… Visit Our Krazy Kitchen this Saturday for my entry at Simple Saturday… I made potato salad, corn on the cob, beans, french fries, and salad… And visit me at  The Motivation Station tomorrow, for Thursdays with Linda…

IMG_0035

Son1 bought some fireworks that we lit off on  Sunday and Monday… and we were able to see the water park fireworks from our driveway…

IMG_0003

Son3 chilling in his pool…

Maple and Indy are always sleeping like this…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that everything that irritates you about others, is your key to understanding yourself. What angers you in another person is an unhealed aspect of yourself. If you had already resolved that particular issue, you would not be irritated by its reflection back to you.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that life is not meant to be a speedway. Slow down to savor the gifts that God has already showered you with.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it is okay to play! When you work too much without interspersing some play into your day, you lose your vitality. Play keeps your heart light and your spirit lively.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it is more than okay to live your joy. Whatever makes your heart sing is what God wants for you! Of course it's okay to be happy! Of course it's okay to fulfill your heart's deepest desires! What your soul most dearly and deeply desires is the very thing God wants for you.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang the best. Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right'. Start where you are, work with whatever is at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. And a time always comes when you discover that you have two hands: one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are loved and you are not alone. Even when you feel alone, know that you are surrounded by divine love. Like God, love is not visible, but that does not mean it is not there. You are loved.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that nothing is exciting if you know what the outcome is going to be. You keep wanting to know how things will play out, keep asking to see the future. God doesn't give anyone the power to know the future, because life becomes maddeningly boring when you know everything upfront. So, instead of struggling, enjoy the uncertainty - to be alive means to not know.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are not to shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find and keep. The quickest way to find love is to give love. If you want it too badly, you will not find it. The most secure way to keep love is to give it space and care to grow. If you hold it too tightly, you will lose it.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that recession is also a time of great opportunity. Time and time again success has its roots in failure, because failure knocks you down from top of the hill so you can then climb a mountain. Yes it's unsettling, yes it's scary. But this can be your greatest opportunity in life, - if you choose it. The recession has cleared the space of clutter, - think what have you always wanted to do but brushed aside from the top of your hill? Now is the time...

IMG_0096

Another week gone by and I have not felt organized enough to post… Or by time I get to posting on my list, another day is over…

Pictures are from our trip to Monterey/Pacific Grove… Still more to come…

I close at work today and tomorrow… Day off not til Wednesday…

The boys are enjoying their summer vacation video gaming and watching movies… Have to remind them to shower and get dressed once a week… lol…

Son1 is busy as ever; work, girlfriend, friends, Jeep, never sits still…

Hubby is still not liking his new job but has brought in one client so far… Having to do the job from home as his work has no programs on the work computers in which to do the things they hired hubby to do…

Hubby is making pancakes, then time to get ready for work…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you do not see things as they are. You see them as you are. When you look, you see reflections of your being. When you listen, you hear echoes of yourself. If you don't like something about what you see and hear, no point in smashing the mirror, change who you are becoming.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are to let grace flow freely from your heart. Think back over the last few days, - how many times have you felt appreciation towards another? How many times have you thought about another: 'what a lovely smile', or 'she is so nice', or 'such a kind man', or any of a myriad of other appreciative thoughts. Did you express them? Did you come up to her and say: 'you are so nice'? And why not? Why did you stop divine grace from flowing freely from your heart? Do you want to change the world to the better? This is it, this is how you start.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you could see with the eyes of God, this world would be filled with goodness. Goodness is within you and every living being. Let your goodness shine.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you desire something, offer something. Offerings can come in many forms: a gift, a prayer, a smile, flowers, food. Offer something from your heart.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's never too late to get back on track. Never has anyone gone so far on the wrong path that they cannot return to the right one. Never has anyone become so wayward that they cannot benefit from the true light.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there is no such thing as conditional love. Love is either unconditional or it's no love. You might like someone conditional on their personality or behavior or circumstances. But love accepts no boundaries. So never say 'I love you because', for love has no cause, love comes from God.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that work begins when you don't like what you are doing. Little children can do the most amazing things with such joy and fun. You were little once too, and knew how to turn everything into a game. So, turn your work into a game, and you will find joy and satisfaction in it. What are some ways you can start being playful with work?

Vacation is over… It’s back to work today…

sw91052blbeachballred__28531

I’ve been trying to write an entry all week… But that’s still not going to happen… So I’ll just write a note…

We went to Monterey Saturday and the zoo Sunday… Pictures hopefully coming soon…

scan0001

Son2’s tennis picture… The boys are now on summer break…

Clam Chowder dinner for hubby last night for Father’s Day… and son1 has us hooked on Season One of How I Met Your Mother…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that no matter how good you try to be to others, you will occasionally hurt them. Forgive yourself for it. The same will happen with them. Forgive them for it.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are not alone. God is always with you, seen or unseen, saint or sinner. Giving you air, supporting your footsteps, nourishing you with sunshine, God is here with you. The separateness you sometimes feel is an illusion, in truth you are never alone.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that Love is the most important thing. It's not about how much you have, how much you know, or how much you do. It's about how well you love. Love is what matters most.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that God is there for you to hold on. Hold on to what is good, even if it's a handful of earth. Hold on to what you believe, even if it's a tree that stands by itself. Hold on to what you must do, even if it's a long way from here. Hold on to your faith, even if it's easier to let go. Hold on to God's hand.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there is no way to happiness, happiness is the way. Happiness does not come from seeking new landscapes, but from having new eyes on the same life you've always been living.

On this day, God wants you to know

... wealth does not come from your bank account, wealth comes from the depth of your heart. What you really want is happiness. You might believe that a fat bank account will get you there, but that's false. Happy people are happy rich or poor, unhappy people are unhappy rich or poor. Money simply masks your real being by giving you activities to occupy your mind. Don't fool yourself, recession or not, your true wealth comes from your heart and is always only there.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that to love is to be vulnerable. Love is the opening of the heart, the welcoming of your beloved. Loving is not secure, authentic loving is risky. Security lies behind the walls of a closed heart. You either invite the union by opening in love, or you secure the isolation by closing down.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you've been missing out on delight that God has sent your way. Think back over the last day, - what could you have taken with delight that you just skipped over?

On this day, God wants you to know

... that every relationship rests on three legs: accepting, supporting and challenging. That's really it, isn't it? You want your relationships to be grounded on accepting each other as you are. On supporting each other through the inevitable ups and downs. On challenging each other to become more, to grow, to flourish. Which one of these is the more difficult one for you, and how are you going to practice it in the next 24 hours?

Last Day of School!!

IMG_0015

Son3 off to school this morning…

IMG_0022 copy

Hubby and I went to his award ceremony this morning… and son3 got an award for 3.0 or better grade average…

All my worry of fighting with him to do homework… he stopped participating in the reading program for the last half of the year… I have to tell him how to spell every word when he writes sentences and remind him to put capitals and periods… we never did have the conference with the teacher after Christmas for our concerns…

And he got a B average for the year… Maybe I’m too strict… good thing I’m not the teacher…

Hope he remembers to turn in his library books he still has on the last day of school, that have been in his backpack all month and everyday I tell him to turn them in…

Hubby is home today… He has a tummy ache and is doing training on the computer at home… Not that they are expecting him at work, as he just goes around town handing out pencils, candy and flyers looking for businesses who are in need of copy services… he keeps track of his hours, working four hours or less a day… we are hoping when the owner gets back from disability leave that we will feel better about this new job… that the manager just doesn’t want to deal with hubby as she has her own job to do and doesn’t know what all the owner is expecting as she created hubby’s position… I want to be excited about his new job and I am not… I don’t mind him having a part time $9 an hour job… but one that he can punch in and out at and not continue doing at home on his own computer, using our cars for travel purposes and only getting credit for working one or two hours a day sometimes, as they don’t need him… so we shall give it a bit more time… but I’ll be turning some of the job website alerts back on…

Yes, I passed my certification… I got to work at 8am, found out my boss was expecting me at 6am, would have helped if she would have told me that… the district guy came at 9am… and left at 11:30am… started good, got a bit stressful in the middle, left on a good note… we missed three questions out of 54… would have passed one if I would have faked it instead of being truthful… the second I expected to miss as the stockroom locating did not get finished… and the third was sizing which we would have passed if he wouldn’t have gone in two other areas for two different questions that weren’t sized after he had checked us off for being sized in the areas he checked for the sizing question… actually he was quite kind as several of the questions were iffy in passing and yet he passed us… and I would have agreed with him for the nos… he did say it was a training/coaching certification and not a crucifixion… I’m just glad to start doing my job now on a day by day basis and not a stressful is everything ready for the visit day…

After he left I talked with my associates and fellow co workers all inquiring about the walk thru… finally went to lunch at 12:45… printed out my reports… spent two hours doing the schedule for next week… back downstairs to post the reports… was going to open boxes for an hour but looked at my watch and it was already time to go home… thus the reason that I came in at 8am and not 6am…

Now I’m waiting to go to work as I close tonight… 2-3: check email; 3-6: manager on duty and open boxes; 6-6:45 go to dinner; 7-8: open boxes; 8-10: close store… at least that is my plan… I’m sure I will have lots of interruptions along the way… and work will fly by and I will get hardly anything done…

The kittens are even bigger and can get into more stuff… They can jump up on the kitchen counters now, and are trying to reach all the blind cords no matter how high I put them up, and are getting into the house plants, and keep knocking the dog food bowl over and bat the dog food all around the kitchen, and knock off all our papers off the tables and bat the pens and pencils around… they have lost my brand new roll of 100 stamps that I am still looking for somewhere in the house… But they are oh so cute…

I’m off to get a few chores done before I have to go to work…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there is no such thing as a problem without a Divine gift hidden within it. You have these problems because you need the gifts they carry within.

castlemist

It’s almost over…. or is it… only if we pass… we busted our buttes today… of course helpful that we got extra hours and helpers… we’re still no where near perfect… but maybe we will look like we know what we are doing… I still have three more people coming in at 6am as I only have two closers tonight… and then he is coming at 9am… I go in at 8am… have to get my numbers first thing and walk the floor… then walk the floor with him and my boss… 54 questions… can only miss 5… I already know that a couple or three are definitely no’s as we couldn’t get to everything…

Son1 and girlfriend were here for dinner… we watched How I Met Your Mother from season one…

Son2 and son1 have gone for a walk and are working out on the weight system…. and drinking their power shakes…

Son3 went to the water park today and had a blast… he went on seven water slides… and around the lazy river on a tube… and drank sodas… and forgot to have lunch that was provided… of course shouldn’t the teachers have had the kids all meet for lunch to check in at least… he just got a bit of sunburn… he’ll probably crash early tonight… he’s in the shower now… tomorrow he is bringing books to read for Read and Feed day…

I am tired… I still need to clean out my work apron… and go over my list one more time of the questions for the audit… by noon the visit should be over and I can go to lunch… then do my regular work for the month and start the schedule and go home on time… I worked a bit late yesterday and today…

I’m not worried or stressed… kind of scary…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that true faith flowers from and through doubt. If you never questioned your beliefs, - you are just a puppet dancing to somebody's strings. If God had wanted your mindless obedience, you would've been created without mind and without free will. But you have both so you can come to God of your own accord. Just look at the lives of saints, - most of them had gone through a dark night of the soul, and that's why their faith was so strong. The path to true faith always goes through doubt. So ask those questions you've always been afraid to ask, and find the answers, and then your faith will become unshakable.

country-days-smooth-sailing

One more day… til this visit… I’m feeling fine for now… although I did come home with a headache… but a cola and three ibuprofen and dinner and it is gone… I had lots of help today but we are so behind in everything… I had old supervisor and another supervisor… and our boss… a couple of associates from other departments… they will all help again tomorrow… plus I was able to add hours to my associates today and tomorrow… and I worked a half hour overtime today… and we were so busy… we would set a table and then it would be shopped and out of place two minutes after…

Son3 just came in from the shower and brought a tooth that came out… and he says he has another loose tooth… I thought I counted and all his baby teeth were out… but guess I was wrong as this is like the fourth one since then…

Son2 is working on his painting for art class that was due days ago… with only three days of school yet… oops kittens running across the table and his painting…

Son1 is no where to be seen… probably with girlfriend…

Hubby is not liking his job very well… actually he had a good day and is doing the job… but not what he would like to be doing… he is mostly out the whole time being a sales man of pushing copies… he doesn’t even punch in and out but tracks his time and miles driven… of course the owner is still out on leave and the manager doesn’t really know what to do with hubby… told him he could still keep looking for a job while doing this one…

We watched a couple of episodes of Angel… the boys are bickering… son3 had me up at 3am with a bad dream and I didn’t really get back to deep sleep thinking about work… so tired and thinking of ice cream and reading my book… son3 is off to bed to watch his TV… and hubby and I will probably fall asleep to Twilight Zone again…

Did I mention only one more day…………….

On this day, God wants you to know

... that today you have a cause for celebration. Today, you should celebrate what an unbelievable life you have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make you stronger. Just as a gem cannot be polished without friction, nor can a life be perfected without trials. Take a time to acknowledge your life and to praise yourself.

Two more days til the visit… I’m actually doing fine today… we are working the best we can and that is all we can do… see what we can do the next two days… my boss actually told me today she was finding me some help from within the store… so have at least one extra associate tomorrow til she finds more… and my old supervisor will be helping… of course we have been torn up from the weekend again so will start from the beginning again tomorrow…

I have learned a few things… one being maybe we should have just done business as usual instead of trying to get ready for the visit the last two weeks… especially since we are more behind now anyway… and of course we probably wouldn’t have been all stressed out… also learned a bit more about each of the associates and how I will assign tasks… and scheduling… I can’t wait to be on vacation next week but then so much to still do at work after the visit… one day at a time…

Last week of school for the boys… son3 has game day tomorrow and is bringing the Pirates of the Caribbean Life game… Tuesday is the water park field trip… Wednesday is reading day, they are to bring books, magazines, comic books and snacks… Thursday is the last day and yearbook signing day… son2 has finals but a couple of classes he is already done with… like Geometry, he got the highest grade in the class and doesn’t have to take the final…

We had leftover lasagna and salad for dinner… son1 was here and borrowed season one of How I Met Your Mother so we watched a couple of episodes… so funny… especially Neil Patrick Harris….

Rain stopped for today… but clouds are moving in and windy with 70% chance of rain again tonight…

Need to get the boys and the kittens settled in for the night… and have some ice cream and watch Twilight Zone with hubby… we fell asleep last night while watching…

And as soon as this visit is over if not now… I am back on my weight loss… I have gained three pounds the past week on top of the eight pounds I gained at Christmas that I have been trying to lose to get back to my 33 pound weight loss…

The rain has started already and it is lightening and thundering…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you will get back to solving all the wrongs in a moment, - how about taking a moment to treasure what is right. All too often we focus so intently on solving the problems, that we forget to zoom out and celebrate what is good in our life already.

Happy Journaling…
