20th birthday…

This was son2 this past January…

For a while now I have been wanting to do something special since it was going to be my 50th birthday, something to remember it by…

Something that even if others disagreed it would be something that I gave myself permission to do…

Once I decided what I was going to do, I talked to lots of people at work as they had all done it already… of course they all said I should do it…

I also knew son1 would take me as he has done it seven times before… He even helped pay as it was my present from him and DIL…

He was actually jealous while we were there as he wants another one… lol

Now unless you scrolled down and peeked already, or even guessed, here is what I did…

I got a tattoo!!

Did it hurt… Yes! some parts worse then others, some parts not at all…

Did I smile through the whole thing, yes I did…

Son1 was with me and took the pictures…

The picture on the left was half way through before the color…

The picture on the right was after we got home and took off the band aide…

Son1 took me out for a Slurpee afterwards…

The ankle part hurt the worst and coloring in the rose…

It was hard walking last night but this morning is better…

Kinda like when you get a sunburn, you don’t want anyone to even look at it for fear they will touch it and the skin is tight and pulls when you move..

After a couple of days it will be better, then no sun or submerging in water for two weeks (showers ok) and a whole month before it is totally done healing…

This is after I washed it, the ankle is still swollen…

The butterfly is from a photo that hubby took and the rose is from a photo I took in the yard… then hubby did that art work that he does from the computer to paper… the tattoo artist then made a transfer that he applied to my leg… I had the tattoo artist add the stem for the rose that he did free hand…

It looks like you had a wonderful birthday! Nice to see all the pictures of you when you were growing up. I'm not surprised at all to see you included a rose in your tattoo. 50 is a great age to be. Hope you have a fabulous year !

Love the tattoo!! I too am not surprised there is a rose in it! I remember when son got his tattoo, he had to put a lot of cream on it for the first few days to maybe help for it not to dry out? Can't remember, but he got the tattoo on his back so I was always lathering him up it seemed.

I liked the pictures of you from your younger years; seemed like you always had curly hair?
