1 Corinthians 1:18-31

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.

Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of God? Foe since the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him. God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the work to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He hose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify then things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written; Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.

Work went very well yesterday…

It is better when I don’t chase the day and just let the day lead, still following my lists of things to do however…

I think Wednesday was a Monday, since I had been off for two days and everyone was on a different schedule, although I still had Wednesday things to do…

I have five things I want to complete tonight plus closing manager duties… but I will just start with one and see where the night goes and if I get to two and three…

New shoe lead had her visit yesterday… she got a 72 on her audit… 94 is passing… I remember not too long ago I got a 74, so she didn’t do too bad on her first one… it gives him job security to treat us as if we need training… her sales are up so she is getting the hang of things…

Son2 went out to lunch with friends during his college day yesterday…

Son3 had no homework except study for Geography… but then I checked his backpack this morning and found his daily language that he forgot about… so he did that this morning… with a bit of tears as I yelled at him… son2 remembers tears with homework so maybe it’s good that son3 has a few too… I remember tears when growing up with homework too but that was in higher grades… then we studied for his geography test some more…

Next week is at risk teacher conferences for son3’s school… we have not gotten a request for a meeting so then son3 must be doing ok… he still has all his missing assignments to get caught up with this weekend… and read his Halo book… last weekend he read over twenty pages…

Son2 is now up… and off the next four days… he has a new habit of sitting in my spot on the couch with his laptop… instead of in his chair… he has a week off coming soon too for spring break…

But first St. Patrick’s Day is this Sunday… we have the corned beef… hubby will get the red potatoes and green beans today… we don’t do the cabbage… I am off on Sunday…

Hubby has started his job searching for the day…

All the cats are in their sunny spots sleeping…

I’m off to shower and get ready for work, take a walk in the backyard to see what new is blooming and see what needs straightening in the house…

Worry is like a rocking chair: it keeps you busy but it never gets you anywhere.

Cast your care on God and enjoy your life while He works on your situation!

Just because you are in a certain situation right now doesn’t mean you have to stay there for the rest of your life.

God is not calling you to be anyone other than yourself!

Don’t mistake what you possess and what you can do for who you are.

God’s love is His free gift to you, and it will heal you everywhere you hurt. -Joyce

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

most of your words are unnecessary.

All too often you speak simply to fill the space with sound, because you feel too uncomfortable with the silence. But this silence is golden. Only in silence you can hear God speak to you. Only in silence can a real prayer, a heart prayer be born. Next time you start chattering, stop and feel into the silence, feel its shape, its texture, and then slowly and silently say only what really has to be said.

I'm sure the new shoe lead's next audit will be better; she can only go up, right?

Keep forgeting St. Patrick's Day is coming on Sunday; I've never had much luck cooking corned beef. Glad you have the day off though on Sunday.

Tears and homework; I think sometimes they do go hand in hand.

I would imagine it is tedious for hubby to still be looking for work; we're trying to figure out a new strategy here ourselves (thinking to branch out and see what more hubby could pick up music wise since the business side of his experience is panning out for jobs)

I'm fixing a beef roast for St. Patrick's Day. I do love cabbage and I am having that along with some mashed potatoes. I would think it would be like a Monday after going back to work with 2 days off. Weekends aren't the same when your work a schedule like yours. Hope you have a super Saturday!
