John 4: 5-26

So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her: Will you give me a drink? His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.

The Samaritan woman said to him; You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink? For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.

Jesus answered her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.

Sir, the woman said, you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water! Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?

Jesus answered, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

The woman said to him , Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.

He told her, Go, call your husband and come back.

I have no husband, she replied.

Jesus said to her, You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.

Sir, the woman said, I can see that you are a prophet. our Fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.

Jesus declared, Believe me, woman a time is coming when you will worship the Father, neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

The woman said, I know that messiah called Christ is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.

Then Jesus declared, I who speak to you am he.

Watching Prometheus… Very confusing…

We’re DVRing the Oscars…

I’m noticing I’m very forgetful this weekend… first son3’s lunch and then today my work apron with all my keys and approval cards left at home this morning… I kept looking at my hands thinking I was forgetting something but I had my lunch and my book so I was good… So I called hubby at 6am from work and he brought it for me…

Hubby’s all ready for all his business tomorrow… his meeting with EDD, which is actually in the mall where I work… and then his phone interview in the afternoon… and then hopefully the other agency will call back with good news…

Today was another long day at work… didn’t quite get as much done as I needed… tomorrow I have lots to do and the day I’m sure will go very fast…

Earlier today son3 was playing at the neighbor’s in his friend’s tree house and got a splinter in his leg… his friend’s mom took it out for him and put a big band aide on and son3 went back to playing… I got home from work before he came home… when he did come home he was limping but still be bopping all over the place… so finally just now I finally cornered him to let us look at it and take off the band aide which is probably why it is pinching so much… so hubby got to looking and the splinter is still in his leg about the size of a toothpick… so I’m underreacting and he’s overreacting… hubby’s first response was to cancel his appointments tomorrow to take son3 to the doctor… actually his first response was to take him to emergency… so I’m annoyed with hubby because since no one was concerned earlier today then it is not an emergency room situation and he can not jeopardize his chance of getting a job tomorrow when son3’s injury is not life threatening… and I’m feeling guilty because I am not offering to call out of work tomorrow and take him because I am short handed tomorrow and have all my reports to do that are due Tuesday and I am off on Tuesday… plus I don’t like doctors and hospitals… so anyway we are both feeling guilty and snapping at each other… but too many times also we have run to the doctor too quick with the boys when they are well enough to go to the doctor during the day time… so anyway son3 will stay home from school tomorrow… son2 will be home with him… I will go to work… hubby will go to his 10:30 appointment… be home for his 3pm appointment… and still have son3 to the doctor before they close and it could all be taken care of before I get home from work… or the latest Tuesday morning… we’re sure they are going to have to do a bit of a procedure to get the splinter out and he’ll probably get a stich or two…

Of course if we should be irritated with anyone it should be the neighbor’s mom… not only did she not send him home, of course he convinced her that he was fine and wanted to still play… even though he told us that his eyes blurred and all the voices got far away, I’m thinking he almost fainted from the pain of it going in… and yet she did not insist on walking him home or even getting us… plus in order for her to put the band aide and ointment on it, he had to drop his pants… he said it was ok he still had his boxers on… if it was her son we would have personally escorted him home, it’s only next door and had his mom put a band aid on…

I’ll check on it again in the morning and make any changes to our decisions before I go to work… but I know he’s fine and he’ll be fine because I’m his Mom… and we’ve been to the emergency room and the doctor too many times with son1…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

the quality of life is a result of many small actions.

It's not New Year resolutions, nor big promises that make or break life, it's the innumerable small actions you take every hour that compound into a life well lived. Look at how you are living moment to moment to know whether at the end of your life you will be looking back with pride or sorrow.

Hope it all works out with the splinter; it is always hard to judge when something is serious like this or not, but you now your son and the situation so much better; but it seems like everything can get done with it with what else has to be done tomorrow.

Hope all is ok with that splinter. It's upsetting when the plans we make get turned around. Hope all goes well and you get to work, your hubby gets to his appointments and the splinter waits till after that to get looked out. It would be wonderful if a new job was on the horizon for your hubby. Hope your Monday proves to be a good one!
