August Seventh

IMG_0002

I am ready for school to start…

I want some structure and organization…

Son3 starts school on August 13th…

He has Art/Drawing (Home Economics for the second semester) Social Studies, Science, Math, PE and English…

Son2 also starts school on August 13th, night classes, math and English…

The boys have truly enjoyed their summer…

Lounging and playing games, son2 did go to a concert in Hollywood (Baby Metal) and hung out with his friends at least once a week; son3 had his birthday sleepover and talks to his friends every day on XBox…

DIL is due two weeks from tomorrow…

I’m hoping to take some vacation the end of August…

The last month has been a whirlwind of son2 getting a job with the school district as a computer tech (our school district is getting I Pads this year), getting his driver’s license, getting ready for city college to start and shopping for a car… and to do all this, son2 still needed hubby and I to drive him around… This week he bought a 2000 Saturn, only thing is, it is a stick, so hubby and I are now teaching him to drive a stick (he is very apprehensive) but after two lessons, he is up to second gear… He needs to be up to fourth gear by Saturday because hubby and I both work on Sunday and he starts his new job on Monday…

Hubby and I are looking forward to Monday when son2 will officially be independent and out of the house a few hours a week…

I didn’t get any of my projects done over the summer that I wanted to between all the going to work, parties and catering to the boys…

We were all off today…

Hubby and I went to Big Lots to get the calendar agenda at the top of the entry and I found a blanket for the baby plus hubby got some Halloween lights, yes Halloween stuff is out already with all the back to school stuff… Then we went to the grocery store to stock up on dinner stuff and school lunch stuff…

It is soooooooo soft and matches the western theme of the baby room…

And was only $6.00…

We are thinking of doing the headless horseman this year for Halloween…

Hubby took son2 out for a lesson earlier and I made garlic and herb chicken with rice and peas…

We have pried son3 off the XBox for dinner…

Son2 is saying he may attempt to drive his new car tonight to the apartment to hang with his friends…

This is huge being yesterday he was so upset with himself at buying a car he didn’t know how to drive…

He says the other cars will just have to be impatient as the hardest part is pulling away from a dead stop…

Dinner time, I’m hungry…

I am on day two of eating good to lose ten pounds

Happy Journaling…

You can do it with eating good to lose those pounds. Don't tell son2 that the hardest part is taking off on an incline :) He'll get the hang of it. And its like riding a bike; once he gets it, he'll never forget how to drive a manual transmission. Good for him though for getting the independence that he's getting!

I like your theme for Halloween if you go with the headless horseman.

Son3's classes sound like a good mix. Glad he had a good summer, but you are right, it is good to get back to structure.

And soon you'll be holding that new grand baby of yours!

Eating good is always a good thing. Just take it slow and easy and it usually works. I guess we all need to do more of that. I am guilty of not. I hope everyone has a great start to the new school year and that you get your vacation time. It will be so exciting to have a new grand babe there in your family !

Your son is absolutely correct, tell those other cars to be patient and wait. He'll learn and get it. Trial and error. I remember years ago, my ex-husband and I went to a car lot and purchased a vehicle and then the realization hit that I'd have to drive it home because he had the other car. It was a stick shift and I had to drive home in rush hour traffic. He said he had whiplash from the number of times I stalled out, LOL. Oh that was an experience but I eventually got it. He'll do fine.
