John 9:1-41

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?

Neither this man nor his parents sinned, said Jesus, but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we mush do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud, with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. Go, he told him, wash in the Pool of Siloam. (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg? Some claimed that he was.

Others said, No, he only looks like him.

But he himself insisted, I am the man.

How then were your eyes opened? they demanded.

He replied, The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.

Where is this man? they asked him.

I don’t know, he said.

They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. Now they day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath. Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He put mud on my eyes, the man replied and I washed, and now I see.

Some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.

But others asked, How can a sinner do such miraculous signs? So they were divided.

Finally they turned again to the blind man, What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.

The man replied, He is a prophet.

The Jews still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man's parents. Is this your son? they asked, Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?

We know he is our son, the parents answered, and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him, He is of age; he will speak for himself. His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for already the Jews had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ would be put out of the synagogue. That was why his parents said, He is of age: ask him.

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. Give glory to God, they said. We know this man is a sinner.

he replied, whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. one thing I do know, I was blind but now I see!

Then they asked him, What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?

he answered, I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?

Then they hurled insults at him and said, you are this fellow’s disciple! We are disciples of Moses! We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.

The man answered, Now that is remarkable? You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. he listens to the godly man who does his will. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.

To this they replied, you were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us! And the threw him out.

Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, Do you believe in the Son Man?

Who is he, sir? the man asked. Tell me so that I may believe in him.

Jesus said, You have now seen him; in fact he is the one speaking with you.

Then the man said, Lord, I believe, and he worshiped him.

Jesus said, For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.

Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, What? Are we blind too?

Jesus said, If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

Hubby and I went for a walk today around the neighborhood and through the orchard behind the school… the following pictures are from our walk…

IMG_0021

This morning I was awoken again by the phone ringing… at 9:30am… this time it was work… Three of the five associates that were scheduled did not show up for work this morning nor did they call… the other supervisor that I work with was calling to see if I could come into work today… I did not call her back… she messaged me on Facebook this afternoon to call her, I have not called her yet… I did not want to go into work today… even if I did, I would have had to take a day off later in the week, so what good would that have done… they were scheduled to set the ad today… I was expecting to go in tomorrow to set the ad anyway as the tool sale was extended through today too so I’ll be resetting the tool ad tomorrow plus all my scans and counts and reports…

IMG_0022

Most of the day I wasted talking about work… I did not feel guilty about not going in, it was my choice… actually talking about things in general with hubby… we don’t make anything a priority for ourselves… it was 1pm before we got ourselves out the door to go for a walk… and all we did this morning was have breakfast and shower and get dressed…

IMG_0026

We were back from our walk by 2:30pm… Son3 and I cleaned out son3’s pants… he now only has four pairs of pants and zero pairs of shorts… he has outgrown everything… then he had a shower and I cut his hair… he read his Halo book while we were on our walk… son2 also had a shower and I cut his hair also…

IMG_0028

I was in such a mood today that I sent hubby to the store for deli chicken with all the fixings…

IMG_0029

Today felt all of ten minutes long… I didn't do anything I wanted to do…

IMG_0031

I’m frustrated with work… I’m frustrated with home… I’m frustrated with the boys… I’m frustrated with hubby not working… I’m frustrated with me for eating so much and not exercising… I’m frustrated with me for forgetting to talk with God instead of being frustrated… I’m frustrated for all the things I say I want to do but I don’t do them…

IMG_0034

Hubby is fixing chocolate cake that he bought with the chicken… chocolate fixes everything and tomorrow is a new day and I can start over again…

IMG_0043

All these clouds on our walk spoke of rain but they have all blown away and the weather man says no rain til Wednesday…

Son3’s sundae he made the other day… he’s having a milkshake now…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

the more you are, the more you can be for others.

You cannot give to others what you do not have yourself. First, make yourself emotionally, physically, spiritually wealthy, and then freely give to others.

I'm glad you didn't ruin your day off by rushing in to work. Just because others are irresponsible you shouldn't have to make up for it. I loved seeing all the Spring blooms around your house. How nice !!! The sun is coming up here this morning but still it was only 15 degrees. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

((((Linda))) But I'm proud of you for not going to work and taking the day off that you were scheduled to take. You would think with how hard it is to get a job these days that those associates would have at least called in that they weren't coming (will they be let go?)

It is so hard not to be frustrated about things; I had a day of it on Saturday. I am trying to really live a life of gratitude now, I'm realized I've stopped thanking God for things; need to get back to that because I do have a lot to be grateful for; so I want to focus more on that and not what I don't have.......

do take care of yourself!
