Mark 1:12-15

At  once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals and angels attended him.

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. His time has come, he said. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!

The cat pictures are from my new calendar and all the blooms are from today…

We have waited all day and the rain has finally arrived this evening…

Son3 and son2 are home from school… son3 is doing homework… fifty math problems and two language pages…

I am making dinner… a recipe that I found on the side of the corn flakes box this morning at breakfast… I had most of the ingredients so thought I would give it a try…

Easy Chicken Casserole

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup of milk

dash white pepper (I used black)

3 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed and drained

1 can mushroom pieces and stems, undrained ( I didn’t have any mushrooms)

3 cups Sunny Select Corn Flakes cereal, crushed to 1 1/2 cup (I crushed a bit but was making a mess)

2 Tbsp margarine or butter, melted

1/4 tsp ground thyme (I used rosemary, didn’t have any thyme)

Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease 2=quart baking dish. Combine soup, milk and pepper. Stir in chicken, vegetables and mushrooms. Pour into prepared dish. Combine cereal, margarine and thyme,. Sprinkle over top of chicken mixture. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brown and bubbly.

Makes 6 servings.

Today started with hubby getting the boys to school…

And spending time on the computer…

IMG_0008

I spent a lot of time talking to hubby today…

Discussing, motivating, planning…

I want him to feel good about himself while still not working…

I want him to find something to do for himself…

I want him to get lots of things done in the house…

I want him to get the boys to clean their rooms…

IMG_0009

Since hubby is all done being sick, I washed all the bedding, blankets, pillow covers from the bed to the couch… I used the fancy attachment on my new vacuum and vacuumed the couch and the chairs… I hooverd the house a bit, I can say that because I have a Hoover again… I cleaned both bathrooms… I washed five loads of laundry… I helped son3 with his homework… I made dinner… and set up this entry…

Dinner was very good…

We’re watching Mike & Molly, 2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother and Raising Hope…

I have a headache now… don’t know why… I feel like I’m forgetting something… I didn’t sleep well last night… the night before I slept great and then found out in the morning that hubby had slept on the couch since he wasn’t feeling good, meaning I had the whole bed to myself… last night not so much… lol… of course I kept waking up every other hour… hot, then cold, hot then cold… so now I’m tired…

You did remind me to tell you about work yesterday…

I’m wondering if I would have stayed in shoes if I would have gotten the compliments then that I have been getting now… Nah… I like my new job… and the associates in shoes are still being manipulative to the new supervisor…

I feel bad for the new supervisor and even though I have no time I need to help her out once in a while…

She went out after work the other night with the shoe supervisor that I replaced… and unloaded how overwhelmed she is right now… they talked for four hours, stopping only because it was almost midnight…

She showed me an email she got from little orange man, shoe district manager, that told her that her reports were only at 70% when my reports were at 90% and to get with me for some training… I wondered if he was going to miss me since I was gone, since he never seemed happy that I replaced the last supervisor…

I think I told you that my store manager told the new district manager the other day that I was an on task manager and he wished that more of his managers were like me…

And then yesterday he told me that another one of the associates from shoes came to him to complain about the new supervisor and he told them that I worked harder and supported them and cleaned up after them and maybe if they would have worked harder maybe I wouldn’t have wanted to leave shoes… and he asked them if they ever worked hard enough to sweat like I did before they went home… wow… I guess he does notice what I do… even though when I was in shoes I was all on my own…

And the drama continues in the shoe department…

Meanwhile yesterday I got a bit of work done… had lunch… went to a couple of meetings… and ran out of day to get everything done I wanted to… I have this weeks work to do and still a bit of work from last week that I haven’t finished… and the meetings we had were to make a plan for the work to do next week…

Time to get the boys to bed… and me too, I’m so tired… and thirsty… and hot… but it’s 42 outside and 65 inside…

It just started raining as I was reading your entry, LOL :) thanks for sending the rain our way!

You are a hard worker, plus you've been there for so many years you know Sear's ways so to speak; I think you are a valuable employee, I'm just not sure they valued you when you were in the shoe department. Seems like your replacement is having a hard time "making a go" of it so to speak.

Hope you don't get what hubby had!

It sounds as if you really did make the right move when you did with your job. It is nice to be appreciated! Just when you least expect it a job will come for your hubby. He does need to keep positive about it all. Hope you don't get sick now. Take good care!

I think you made the right move too You're a person who always does more than what is expected of them. That is a great quality, one not everybody has.
I'm just getting over a viral infection. Being sick is the pits so hope you don't come down with anything. Have an awesome day.
