November Twentieth…

prod_1176_45963

Thirty One Years ago today I started working at Sears as Christmas help… This Friday will my 32nd Black Friday… Thankfully this year we will be closed for Thanksgiving… Last year I worked on Thanksgiving… We will however work Wednesday night to get all the signs up for Fridays doorbusters… And Friday I will be working twelve hours as I am the footwear lead now… We have all the tables set and continue to fill the floor with new receipts… I just have to write up a plan of who is in charge of stocking what and who will be cashiers and what time everyone will be able to go to lunch… Meanwhile we wait and then after will be the BIG CLEANUP…

I had this weekend off… It is my last one til next year… Yesterday I was busy cleaning the house to get ready for our Thanksgiving… The turkey and all the fixings are bought… Hubby will make pumpkin pies on Thursday… I will make some pumpkin bread… The turkey is in the fridge thawing…

Hubby is doing great! He was supposed to be back to work this week but the owner is out again with medical issues of her own… and the store manager is out on maternity leave… so no one to receive hubby back to work and give him instructions for the holiday season… so we will see this week if he gets any hours… meanwhile we still have unemployment and hubby continues to fill out applications looking for another job that is more stable…

Son1 and girlfriend have put a deposit down on a place for the wedding for Oct of 2012… I however don’t think son1 realizes what he is getting into as they want to invite 200 guests and the place they chose for the wedding site is not cheap… so thinking he and girlfriend need to communicate a bit or maybe I am the one being left out of the communicating…

Son2 and son3 are on vacation for a week now for Thanksgiving break… so it has been all video games and no showers all weekend so far… and the making of the Christmas lists for Santa…

Dinner is ready… Pizza and clean out the fridge leftovers…

Watching Season Three of Sanctuary…

Finished Season Two of Soap last night…

Happy-ThanksgivingHDR

Happy Journaling…

So thankful for an update, Linda! So glad to hear hubby is doing well! Too cute about Son1 and GF, I guess they'll start realizing things when more details and money are discussed. But how exciting to plan a wedding! Sounds like a gruesome day of work for you on Friday! I bet you will be tired when you get home! I do hope hubby can find something a bit more stable work wise; I know that will bring lots of relief to you and him. Hope Son2 and Son1 enjoy their break! Can't believe it is Thanksgiving already.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving Linda and family!

I've been stopping by a few times anxious for an update and love hearing how things are going for you and your family. So glad to hear hubby is recovering!! I am so impressed you have been on the same job for 32 years... that is almost unheard of these days. It shows what a fine character you have Linda!! We have the lists going here too for Christmas... it's so much fun for me to see what they want.
