November Eighth…

ChristmasSnowmanwithbirdonhat

I am feeling better… and it was mostly due to hormones…

Now son3 is home sick today… he told me that the bad dream he had yesterday morning that had me up at 3am, had all the scary movie characters in it… Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Tommy from Halloween… not that he has seen those movies… last night he had me up at 1, 2:30, 3:30 and then I got up at 4:30 and then he threw up getting hubby up at 5am…. we should have realized yesterday due to he didn’t eat all day, except for dinner he had two corndogs… he hasn’t eaten again today and has finally fallen asleep at about 4pm… so he may not be at school again tomorrow… with Veteran’s Day this week, they only have a three day week and four day weekend…

It was a long day at work today… I scanned for missing displays, scanned for missing signs, went to lunch, and organized and scanned the women’s shoes into the stockroom… I also had a couple of supervisor’s helping to rescan the stockroom to correct the locating… Now tomorrow our VIP visitors will be coming about 1:30pm unless their flight is cancelled, we can hope…

Since we are open this year for Thanksgiving at my job, hubby and I have been trying to figure out when/how to fix the turkey that week… Son2 was there so I included him in the conversation and boy was he MAD that I had to work Thanksgiving… I was telling him we would just have the day on my day off and he said NO we couldn’t celebrate on the non holiday day… Plus I had thought I might have Wednesday off since we will be going in on Thursday, we could get ready for the Friday sales then and so we would cook on that day but then I found out today that I will work on Wednesday night from probably 3-11pm to set the ad for Thursday… and then Thursday set the ad for Friday… and then probably go in at 3am on Friday… I probably work 7-3 on Thanksgiving so we’ll eat when I get home but prepare the food throughout the week… although son2 said that wasn’t right either as all the cooking should be done on Thanksgiving…

Only 5:30 and very dark outside already… and only 61 degrees today… Snow in the mountains even… Son1 works both jobs today and son2 is doing History homework… no homework with son3 today… yay… poor guy being sick… Going to heat up the left over soup one more time and maybe make some sandwiches… Hubby put in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea season 1 and Rules of Engagement, Castle, Hawaii Five O and all the Monday shows come on tonight…

Today I ate: vitamins, green tea tablet, water… lunch~chimichanga, yogurt, cola… Lays chips, 4pcs of candy… dinner~split pea soup, top ramen chicken soup adding zucchini and squash, ham and cheese sandwich, water…

Pedometer: over 6500 steps…

Happy Journaling…

Son2 was cute with adamantly saying food needs to be cooked on the holiday (perhaps he could cook for you while you are working, seeing how he is in home ec this year :)

I have to work all the holidays if it is my scheduled day to work and unless I ask for it off and then they can only give so many the day off since the work has to be covered. Management requests that everyone just ask for one day off to make it fair for others so I rotate what day to have off but have worked Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. It is all in the mindset with the type of business I do in that people need their medical reports. Not sure if people need to go shopping on Thanksgiving, know what I mean? yet people will be out there and that's why the stores will be opened. Sorry that you do have to work since you still have young ones at home.

hoping son3 feels better soon!

It looks like a really busy schedule for your Thanksgiving. Hopefully your hubby and boys will help out getting things ready for you while you're working. It's too bad they decided to open on Thanksgiving Day. We always go out shopping the day after, but not at the department stores...we go to a huge craft festival in one of the little towns and then the candle factory that is located there. We don't like the big sale day at the stores so stay away from that. Hope your son is feeling better.

I'm glad you're feeling better:)
It always sucks to have to work the holidays. I am dealing with people right now that want the day before and after Thanksgiving day off. We just can't accommodate all with this.
So many people are getting sick right now. Hope son3 feels better soon:)

I think my hubby will be on call Thanksgiving week and am hoping he isn't called out that day but we'll have to see how it goes. I may have my sister and family here but not sure yet... waiting to hear about their work schedules also. Hope the day works out for you with the cooking. That is so cool and traditional that son 2 wants the cooking done that day. Maybe you can put turkey in b4 work and finish sides when you get home and son will smell the turkey while waiting for you. Hope little one is feeling better. I am just like him... I have nightmares if and if I don't watch scary movies. So I don't watch any and still have some from time to time.

Sounds like your work schedule is crazy this year. I will be interested to see how you fit everything in. I am sure you will do it, and do it well...
