Friday on Vacation already...

Yesterday got away from me and all my bragging of being ahead of the day and the computer working were for naught... It was 1pm by time I got done with everything on the computer with all the loading and cranking it is doing while loading each thing... Hubby says I need more memory but I also think that the computer does a lot of stuff without my permission and I haven't completely figured out how to tell it to quit it...

But I am all caught up with reading about everyone and I feel good about that... I ignored the dishes yesterday and we had leftovers for dinner... I did finish paying all the bills and the checkbook is balanced once again... and son2 and I watched a couple of Emergency episodes...

Son2 is thinking he now wants to be a firefighter when he grows up... He was researching it online for a while yesterday... The city college in Fresno even offers a program for EMT/Paramedic... but he is thinking of just fireman... Did you know firemen only work 8 days a month, a 24 hour day with two days off in between... they make between $55000-$70000 a year and most have a second job since they have all those days off in between... Hubby says can we just get through high school... lol...

I did get a bit grumpy yesterday thinking of only two days til back to work... ssshhhhh... I'm not grumpy cause I did nothing on vacation, so that's a good thing... I did eat too much on vacation so now I'm thinking it's a good thing to go to work and not be near the food... I put the Easter candy away yesterday as son2 and I have each finished off a bag of jelly beans... So my chocolate Easter bunnies are safely hidden away in my room for an emergency... and the rest is in the pantry for the boys to forget about along with all the candy from holidays past... and that is why at Halloween and you get Easter and Christmas candy, it is called Trick or Treat...

We keep hearing thumps in the house of things falling... twice we did discover that it was something in son2's room that had fallen... but on Wednesday we heard a thud and couldn't figure out where it came from... I noticed in the yard a whole bunch of feathers and thought oh no, Holly got a bird, but we couldn't find a body... but then we realized a bird had hit the window and that was the thud and he ricocheted into the rosebush losing a bunch of feathers and hopefully flying off with just a headache.... But then yesterday Holly really did get a bird... Took out a bird feeder and a large branch off a rosebush in her accomplishment... Poor little birdie... I see his friends out there now, and Holly is out there some where too being all proud of herself...

Well I am off to get dressed and showered at only 10:20 in the morning and watch Fireproof since no one has wanted to watch any of my movies with me this week... I put in Life of Brian for hubby last night when he grumbled about watching Fireproof, so I went back on the computer... I also want to watch Twilight today and then all the other movies I had planned on watching will just have to wait til other days off... We did watch Bones and CSI last night and I watched Harper's Island while hubby was snoring...

The boys are off on their games... I told son3 he has to read his two library books today and tomorrow... such torture...

Happy Journaling...

READ but didn't he just do that like a couple of days ago and you want him to do it AGAIN... gosh you're such a MEAN MOMMY ;-). I know you hear that alot and huffing.
You're like me well that's not my problem with the comp because I went and got a 1TB (1000GB) external hard drive and then cleaned off my computer so there is only half the memory used on it. I'm like you and think my problem is the AOL crap that I just added a few days ago. I'm hooked on that email still don't like the others and I'm trying to.
I still need to catch up on back stuff with you. I finally got it added to the bottom where I can just click and view maybe that will help now.
Well firefighter is a good job, but I thought most had to do the EMT part too. Doesn't it go hand in hand? I know they work long shifts then off. Nurses do the same thing. I had a friend who only worked three day weekends and was off the rest of the week that is how her and her hubby got out of a sitter. She did weekdays and he did weekends. Of course, you give up life like you know it because you'd never be able to go out on the weekend with your hubby. So has its sucky points too.
I thought Harper's Island was good. I was surprised so many got killed in one episode, but I guess they have to get the ball moving only 11 weeks left.
Fringe was really good. I am caught up on that show. I'm behind on my Heroes and son keeps saying please do a marathon and catch up I'm dying to ask you something LoL. So who knows when I'll do that because Kyan is spending the weekend with me while his parents go to Ohio and I'm surprised they are leaving him. You would think they'd want his family to see him like before. I'm not arguing because it has been since like February since I've had Kyan. Two months at least which is why I didn't have much to write about during that time.
Have a great weekend.

I don't have any idea what my computer might need or want..lol
I have to go to my son for everything.
I know how to turn it on and get to my very limited sights.
It is easy to lose track of time while playing around with this thing..lol
Have a great week-end,
Sheri

I'm kind of blah on blogging these days, but I read when I can, did have to say I hope you/hubby watch Fireproof together. Such an awesome movie on marriage and putting the other one first; I highly recommend it!

I always hated when vacations came to the end and I had to go back to work; now I'm grateful to have a job to go back to :)

thankfully no Easter candy made it into our house; the "benefits" of older kids :)

take care

What a wicked mother you are ~torturing that poor little boy! That poor featherless bird made me laugh, it sounded like it was drunk! My computer has frozen at every click of the mouse for ages, it takes forever to accomplish anything on here! I shall try and get it sorted soon, may need defragging or deleting a few thousand photos may help! Enjoy your week. Jeannette xxxx

Hi Linda...its along time since i read your journal and others come to think of it.Thanx for your comment in my last entry in my journal. It still seems really strange this blogger to me,i feel sort of lost somewhere in cyber space...ha!ha!.I noticed that you read a lot of books,i too have been reading books lately as i can't get to MY computer(when my grandson hogs MY computer that is).At the moment i'm reading "PS,i love you" by Cecelia Ahern and i'm finding myself laughing and crying in places as its funny and sad too.Its a really good read and i'm hooked! MY computer is going nuts all the time too.My daughter came by today and deleted a lot of registry stuff including AOL and AIM that was still on my computer and its running a lot better at the moment as i too had low memory(the computer not me...ha!ha!)

I'm sure you are back to work now, but I'm just catching up on journals from my long weekend away. Vacations go by way too fast. I keep hearing that anything in the medical field is where the jobs are...I would advise a young person to go into that but like you say...he's gotta get through school first. Hope your week is off to a great start.
