March Thirteenth

 

Ephesians 2:4-10

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by words, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which god prepared in advance for us to do.

Another day at work that I felt like crying… I’m just being too hard on myself…

Due to the meeting tomorrow, everyone had their days switched around, so people who are usually off today were at work… so that threw me off as usually Wednesday is my quiet day… but since we have others coming from other stores for the meeting, we are in visit mode… and the new shoe lead is having her first visit for shoes as the lead… so while I got all my counts, scans and receipts done today, I felt like I should have been doing other things and more of it…

And someone lost the keys on Monday in hardware so now we can’t unlock any of the cabinets to sell things… as no one knows where the copies are…

Tomorrow is another day…

 

When I got home, I spent some time sitting in the backyard… all the trees are blooming… the roses have buds on them… I had a bit of quiet time…

 

Son3 was finishing up his homework when I got home… Hubby helped him today… He wore his new Zombie ate my homework shirt that I found at Walmart for $3.00… and had more benchmark testing…

I heated up all the leftovers for dinner… and added some popcorn chicken…

Now we are watching The Bible from Sunday and eating Rees’s peanut butter cups…

Son3 is playing with his toys that son2 pulled out to play with today… now son2 is playing his new Game of Throne video game…

March Twelfth

 

John 3:14-21

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believed in him may have eternal life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict; Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.

Today I overslept… I had woken up at 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep til after 6am and the next thing I know it’s 8:15am, the time hubby takes the boys to school… I jumped out of bed ready to fix their lunches but hubby had already taken care of everything…

Hubby came back and we had breakfast and got ready to go to Michael’s and Walmart… I drove and we got gas… Found a few crafty things at Michael’s for Halloween, Christmas and son1 & DIL’s Easter basket… And at Walmart we got lots of Easter goodies…

Then it was home… Son3 had one cartoon when he got home and then it was in the shower… He didn’t have any more homework added today so he finished up what was due tomorrow and he was done before dinner…

For dinner I made Gorton’s fish, french fries, onion rings, peas, cheesy pasta, and heated up leftovers…

Now we are watching Animaniacs but the boys are watching son2’s video game and not paying attention…

I still need to put the laundry away, file my fingernails and sort through the Easter goodies and find son3’s shoelaces we bought today and put them in his shoes… And make sure I have everything ready for work tomorrow…

And my room and all the boxes of cards and memories of all the boys to sort and save…

March Eleventh

 

Romans 8:1-10

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature. God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death; but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ; he does not belong to Christ.

 

Today we were up at 7am… Not feeling the effects of time change… of course the night before I was asleep before ten… but then I was up at 4:30am…

Loving the longer sunshine part of the day already too…

Hubby got son3 off to school…

I took a shower, had hot chocolate, and got on the laptop to check emails and Facebook…

Hubby fixed me waffles and yogurt for breakfast…

And I got started on taxes…

Two and a half hours later and taxes were done… Hubby was afraid with all the changes this year that our refund would be much smaller, but actually we got a bit more…

Son2 moseyed out of bed at 11am and is now at 9pm doing homework for tomorrow…

Hubby was working in the yard and I joined him after the taxes were done…

He’s still cutting up the pile of all the branches and I’m still raking up leaves…

Son2 made lemon aide  out of some of our lemons and some tangerines I bought… It was very good…

I made pork chops with onions and green peppers, scalloped potatoes, veggies and left overs for dinner…

Son3 came home from school, took a shower and has been doing homework except for a break for dinner… he has finished all the work due tomorrow, and some due later in the week… he brought home a list of missing assignments but has not started those yet… I have completely cleared his desk in his room and told him from now on he is doing all his homework in his room… Son2 was remembering today when we had stopped letting him do homework at the kitchen table as it was too distracting… son3 needs more structure to do better homework and get better grades… and more responsibility… and son2 being 19 doesn’t have any better habits… waiting til the last minute to do homework and he doesn’t have any responsibility either… they really need to clean their rooms…

We watched Emergency and See Dad Run since son3 was done with his homework…

And had some ice cream with caramel sauce…

Now it’s time to get everyone ready for bed… son3 has benchmarks (state testing) tomorrow…

And I have another day off…

March Tenth

 

Matthew 20:17-28

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and kneeling down, asked a favor of him, What is it you want? he asked.

She said, Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.

You don’t know what you are asking, Jesus said to them, Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?

We can, they answered.

Jesus said to them, You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.

When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. Jesus called them together and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

I was up bright and early this morning and off to work…

Today was oh so fast… Everyone but one person showed up today so we got the ad done on time and were able to get other tasks done too… except me as I had to go to a meeting to prepare for meetings we will be having later in the month…

I was home early, so while talking with hubby and son2, I made dinner early, but we still didn’t sit down til almost six… we watched Vikings… and now we are watching Lost in Space and Batman… hubby found the METV channel on cable… we had lost it since getting cable… and the sun was still up… best part of changing the clocks, the sun staying up later…

Now we’re having ice cream with caramel sauce…

And I’m off the next two days…
