I give you son1 when he was a baby, way back in 1987…

And now he is ‘patiently’ waiting for his baby…

We just finished a twelve week course at work that took up all of the last twelve Mondays, with only half the management staff attending, the other half will have a crash course but everyone is expected to jump in to action with all we learned… Mostly it was every job aide in the company and we all learned each others job… Come February we will all be tested by the district manager and accredited… I asked what if we don’t pass, the store manager said we would, I said but what if we don’t, he said we will…

Maybe I’ll get fired from the company for the third or is it the fourth time and not get to stay this time… I am so trapped in the company with 34 years, medical benefits, pay… But how I would like to go out in the world and see what else is available to me…

Most of the management is disgruntled and does not want to be there…

This was my week to be mad and I let everyone know it yesterday… We have more and more and more put on us with instructions to just do it… And no matter how many things you do right, you never get a thank you, but the store manager made a comment to me on Tuesday that pissed me off… Now I have known him for at least 14 years way before he was a store manager, so I know how he is… But he is also a workaholic and I am so over working all the time and trying to prove myself… I have yet to get my vacation approved, which I couldn’t have this week and I’m trying to get for next week, but I will have to work Sunday and Monday for the holiday… Even after all the vacation I have/haven’t taken this year plus next week and hopefully a week at Halloween, I will still have 60 hours to still take in January as I won’t be able to take any in November or December…  and the comment he made was just in reference to a sales floor leader task I was doing, but it was not necessary and it just put me over the edge this week…

At home we have been fighting ants, black widows and roaches…

I have made a new plan for myself to set a goal of getting two things in the house done each month…

Which means by next summer I will have twelve projects done instead of none…

I am a little behind as this month is ending this weekend, but I have almost completed the first two goals…

Goal one of the month was organize the paper piles…

I have cleared out the above drawer and gone through the files…

 IMG_0001

And filled two bags and a box of shredded papers…

IMG_0003

Even my desk is all clean now of papers that were just getting thrown in and never sorted…

I just need to sort through the files a bit more, make sure they are all labeled and put them in alphabetical order…

I have also been utilizing the desk in the computer/art room for my laptop and sitting on the exercise ball…

Goal number two was get the backyard ready for winter…

IMG_0007 IMG_0008

Due to the drought we are only allowed to water twice a week…

IMG_0009 IMG_0010

So I cut all the roses way back…

They have not been blooming any way since it has been so hot…

IMG_0011 IMG_0012

Next week we are having the big garbage pickup that they do twice a year so hubby can put all the branches out for pick up…

IMG_0013 IMG_0014

I still want to rake all around the backyard and that will finish goal number two…

And then I will decide the next two goals for September…

But in the meanwhile there are only 63 days til Halloween…

I have been writing this entry throughout the day, as today was my day off…

I cleared up the dishes and did a load of laundry…

I even read a couple of chapters in my book Warrior Woman by Johanna Lindsey…

Mostly I have waited for a text saying it was baby time…

Son2 went to work and school today…

Son3 is on the XBox and has a math quiz tomorrow…

Hubby had work today…

We need to go to the grocery store…

but what if we get the text while we are at the grocery store…

Although at this point in time whether she goes into labor tomorrow or is induced on Saturday, we will all be there on Saturday as we all have the day off…

Tomorrow we all have work and school and we won’t know til it’s over how long she will be in labor…

So for now I have laundry to put away…

And my phone just beeped at me that it needs charging cause if we do get a text it will be in the middle of the night, cause that is when labor starts but babies are born during the day hours, at least all my boys were…

12:15pm, 9:15pm, 5:30pm…

Happy Journaling…

You know how first babies came be. If you are shopping, you'd have time to get home and get to the hospital. I wondered if the baby was born yet; thanks for the update! I bet everyone is getting more excited than they have been especially your DIL who I am sure is just about done being pregnant :)

Cute pictures of Son1 as he waits for his son1 :)

Its hard to know what to do job wise; you have time in that company and you know the good, bad, and ugly about it. Might not be so good to start elsewhere having to learn the ropes.

There are drawbacks to working for the same company for so many years. But you do have a steady income and that is something to be thankful for and the benefits are a plus too. I hope are off for the birth of your 1st grandchild. I got to go for the birth of my first one but it meant an airplane trip and I arrived a couple of hours after the birth. Still it was exciting and I got to hold her when she was just a few hours old. It's going to be an exciting weekend for you !

Sorry I'm arriving late - today is the big day for you if the baby hasn't come since you did this post. How exciting!! I 'll be watching for an update soon!

Love the baby photos of son 1 :)

I can totally relate to how you feel at work. I'm in the same situation with the school board. I am seriously considering not returning when my medical leave is over. The hardest part is the benefits. I don't know how I'd ever be able to afford medical insurance on my own *sigh*

Anyway, can't wait to see your new grandbaby! :)
