February Third

super-bowl

Hubby and son2 are one quarter into the Super Bowl… Son3 is munching on snacks on the computer… Snacks consist of pizza, pot stickers, various chips and bean dip…

I am listening to the game and having a bit of computer time…

Not that I haven’t been on and off the computer all day…

Hubby made pancakes for breakfast…

I tore my room apart looking for son1’s high school diploma, he’ll need it for his new job, but he has until March… I can’t find it… I can’t remember if I put it somewhere or if he has it… although he has looked for it too…he found his graduation souvenirs but not the diploma… I’m sure he can contact the school about a replacement copy but still would be nice to know where it has gotten to…

I went through all my work papers and made a binder and I am now ready to tackle all that needs to be done the month of February… lots of setups and sales…

I filled the birdfeeders…

I filled out the cards to be mailed for February…

I watered the plants and emptied the cat box…

I need to work on hubby’s Valentine as we are going to celebrate Valentine’s on the twelfth since that is my day off and I work on Valentine’s…

I am thinking of something like this:

The cats are being stinkers…

Miss Holly just won’t let us love her… she growls, hisses and swats everyone… usually after she has allowed you to pet her…

Miss Indy insists on digging up the carpet in front of the laundry room… I have a rug on top of the carpet with a brick holding it down… and she still digs to get under the door that is open… I think she is looking for her toys or wants the padding to make as a toy… she likes to play with twisty ties and any piece of fuzz… I find them under the bathroom rugs when I clean the floor… or in the pantry where she bats them around at night and they go under the door…

Miss Maple is the worst… she chews wires… we have had to buy new laptop wires, usb cords, Ethernet cords, TV cords… and now this morning we discovered that she has chewed all the wires to the game computer… she chewed the mouse wire, keyboard wire, monitor wire and the computer wire… the computer comes on and the monitor comes on but the mouse and keyboard are gone… so hubby had an extra mouse and keyboard… but now the computer is not working… son2 is trying to reinstall windows and what not but it is not recognizing anything… so is it because of Maple or that the computer is twelve years old… it was our very first internet computer…

I, who has not been sick in years, has a cold… nothing big just a stuffy nose… I think I am not used to the hardware dust… I became immune to the footwear stockroom dust and fungus after eight years…

I’m feeling sympathetic and guilty at the same time about something at work… my work is restructuring the management positions in some of the smaller stores… the person that I replaced has been affected by this and was laid off… they are able to apply for the new structured management jobs and he was able to come back to our store as a part time sales associate… I feel guilty cause he was so excited about his promotion and I now have his old job… and I’m sympathetic as that it happened to me nine years ago this summer and how I lost my management position and became an associate in footwear…

I’m trying to remember what else I was going to write about… some things I jot down on sticky notes to remind me and some I do not… these are the ones I did not… It was probably about the boys and homework… I’ll remember for another entry…

Son1 is watching the Super Bowl with DIL and friends…

Son2 couldn’t decide between watching the Super Bowl with friends or with us… He chose us…

Son3 wanted to go to the neighbors to watch with his friend but they had lots of company already so we said no…

Hubby is disappointed that the 49ers are not doing well… Score is 21-6… He was hoping for a closer game…

I’m blogging, snacking and drinking Arbor Mist and watching the Super Bowl commercials…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

peace can be found in unlikely places.

Even in the darkest storms peace can be found by those who seek it. When turmoil and tension tear at your heart, pray for peace and most often you'll find peace in prayer. Of course there is no need to wait for a storm, pray for peace right now.

I think the best commercial was the M&M one :) It was a good game eventually; I was routing for the 49's too!

I don't think you should feel too bad about what happened to the guy whose job you got hired to replace him. It was done fair and square; I do feel bad it worked out that way for him but good thing at least he got back as a part-time associate; who knows where he may end up, right?

I'm sure you have to get used to all the new "germs" at your new place but sorry you aren't feeling super good.

all in all sounded like a good weekend!

I hope you find the diploma. I hate it when something goes missing like that. I can't tell you the hours and hours I've spent in the research department. We are to get more snow here today and tomorrow. I woke up to a winter weather advisory going off here early this morning. It's really a shame that things worked out that way for the person you took over for. Why do they do things like that??? You shouldn't feel bad though as it wasn't your decision. Hope you feel better soon.
