November Twenty Eighth

If only I could blog from my car I would write more entries… Seems when I am driving to or from work is when I think of everything I want to write in my blog…

So what have I been doing…

The kittens chew through my laptop cord so hubby finally found a universal one at Best Buy and I have power again… Although my laptop keeps telling me it won’t run as fast with this cord that it does not recognize… the package says it works with Dell laptops… which it is as I have power… And we moved computers around instead of buying a new one to put the house internet on… Our main computer is eleven years old and crashed at least twice and runs as slow as can be… So we replace it with the boy’s game computer that is only three years old… Hubby had to order more RAM for it though so we are waiting for that to come in the mail… And hubby bought the new 2012 Norton that I need to put on it so we have been limiting our online time… the old computer and my laptop have Norton but my disc is from 2006 even though I have upgraded every year online… the disc was too outdated to put in the new computer… my subscription expires in a month for Norton anyway so just bought it a month early and now have an updated disc… it says able to use on three computers so we can maybe put it on son1’s computer too… And the kittens chew through the Ethernet cord for the computer so hubby had to plug in our really long one to get internet again on the family computer… Darn those kittens…….

Working mostly… I kicked Black Friday’s Butte… My sales goal was $46,000… We did $68,000… We did $46,000 before the door busters were over at 1pm… And working twelve hours wasn’t bad at all… Seemed more like one hour ten minutes as the last hour was the longest… I got in over 24,000 steps on my pedometer… Saturday was another busy day but I got off early at 3pm… Sunday was continue to clean up the mess day… And today too… I have a day off tomorrow…

With the time change by time I get off work now I’m able to see the sun set… And all the leaves on the trees are orange, red, yellow having just changed a couple of weeks ago… And the foggy haze makes everything even more pretty…

Hubby has put up all the Christmas lights outside… and brought everything in from the garage to start setting up inside…It has been two weeks since his surgery and he still hasn’t gone back to work… He called again today and they have something they need him to do that he will do from home tomorrow… but that has been it… the owner still hasn’t called him yet though like they keep saying she will…

Son1 has barely been here lately… He works 6am-5pm… And then hangs out with friends after work… and is with girlfriend all weekend… Leaving us to take care of his dog and fish… Hmmmm… He’s owned his dog for about six years and I have taken care of it for about three… He hasn’t brought up any more wedding plans lately… he has jury duty this week but only has had to call so far…

Son2 and son1 went back to school this week… Son2 already had foggy day today with a two hour bus delay… And son3 has a substitute this week and through December til winter break… It was back to homework today… and now the boys are showering to get ready for school again tomorrow… I need to remind hubby about Toys For Tots as usually this weekend is the weekend that the Marines are at the Mall and son3 is having a canned/dried food drive at school this week so need to get a bag together for him to bring…

We have been watching all our shows… How I Met Your Mother, Mike and Molly, Hawaii Five O, Castle, Glee, Raising Hope, The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Bones, and Supernatural… Movies from Netflix: Super 8, Red Riding Hood, Jeff Dunham Controlled Chaos, Sanctuary Season 3, Cars 2, Soap Season 2… And we started watching Christmas movies: The Muppet Christmas Carol and Jingle All the Way… Getting an early start this year as we always run out of December before we watch all the Christmas movies…

And fighting ANTS! Ants in the bamboo plant in my bathroom, ants in the cat food in the boy’s bathroom, ants in everything in the kitchen… we had put borax and syrup in jelly lids traps around but alls it did was control the trails and feel as if we were just feeding the ants as they just keep coming…

Time to tuck the boys in and go to sleep myself…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that everything passes. Nothing is eternal, even the sun will one day disappear. Remember this simple truth whenever you are suffering, - that the suffering too shall pass, - and it will become easier to bear.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's time to start living in the present. Letting go of the past is not easy, especially if you have wounds that have never properly healed. But, the past is past and living there may be preventing you from fully experiencing the present. Likewise fear of what may be looming around the corner can also prevent you from fully enjoying the present. Live in the moment and look forward to eternity with God, now that's a great present.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that beginnings are only possible where there are endings. Clear acknowledged endings are as necessary to intelligible life, as pauses between notes to intelligible music. Although endings sometimes feel like the end of you, take them for what they really are, - the end of a stage in your life. Here is to new beginnings!

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you cannot accept failing, you cannot succeed. Nothing truly meaningful is achieved on the first attempt, and if that's where you stop, then failure is all you will have.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you cannot accept failing, you cannot succeed. Nothing truly meaningful is achieved on the first attempt, and if that's where you stop, then failure is all you will have.

Happy Journaling…

Wow, you really did kick Black Fridays butt...lol..Great job:) You definitely put your pedometer to work..
I have the Norton system. Now my son has to install it on his computer too.
It's too bad hubbys boss doesn't call him back..sounds a little irresponsible. I really dislike waiting for any type of call..
Hope your week goes well,
Sheri

Glad to see you survived your Black Friday doing so well. I can not imagine working in any store at this time of year. I try to avoid shopping even unless it's the grocery store. Hope your hubby gets back to work soon. It's great though that he's done so well. I hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

Oh no with the ants! That is never fun to fight them; they usually seem to win!! You rock girl with those steps at 24,000 plus on Black Friday plus those sales! That is awesome!! I did hear on the news that it was record breaking sales this past weekend, so that is good!

Sounds like you are busy, as usual! Glad to hear the Christmas lights/decorations are up! I do hope some resolution happens with hubby's work so at least you know what to plan for, or not, in the new year!

We had those ants a few times and had to put all kinds of traps out... and finally it seems like we've maybe got to whereever they were coming from... I had to put traps outside too on the hills... wow what a busy Black Friday but you did it! Way to go! I was wondering how it turned out for you. Love hearing about the movies you have been watching... and I think it was you who inspired me to give netflix a try and I just LOVE it LOVE it LOVE it!

I think ants ate the worst to get rid of them. Have a good day.

You did well for the Black Friday sales, Linda. Sunset here in northern Scotland is at 3.45pm at the moment, so people coming away from work do so in the dark at the moment...
