April Tenth

These pictures of the roses and the kittens are all from today…

It has been weird being off today… but then after having two days off now I want more…

I had plans of getting a few things done today but it turned into a family day, son1 and girlfriend came over, and play with the kitties all day… and did some laundry…

I did fill out some recipe cards for son1 and copy all my notes from work that I have been writing on scratch paper into one notebook…

We did come up with names for them… Actually girlfriend helped the most as she got our brains moving as we couldn’t think of anything… so we started with candy names, flower names, color names, spice names… after much laughing and surfing through google… and we are pretty sure they are sisters… actually son2’s kitty is turning out to be a calico as her colors are really showing through now… Son2’s calico is named Maple, like maple syrup… and my tabby kitty is called Indy, after Indiana Jones… She was almost Ivy or Hershey… and son2 was thinking cinnamon or ginger…

We were up at a better hour this morning, 8am… although Danny had us up at 3am as he had to go out… of course my mind started thinking about work… but I finally fell back to sleep… when I get up and moving I don’t think about work but a bit early to get up at 3am… Hubby made pancakes for breakfast… son3 got his homework done… just finish a couple of definitions and finish drawing a picture… Son1 brought son2 home about 11:30am… They played with kittens… and then girlfriend came over to play with the kittens too… We had dinner of lasagna, veggies and garlic bread… son1 and girlfriend have now left and we are watching Rocketman…

Son1 is very serious about joining the military and has even decided I think on the Navy… he and girlfriend have worked through their feelings and girlfriend is feeling better about it now… she will be busy going to cosmetology school… they both agree that son1 going in the military and her going to school will bring them both to the next phase of their futures together…

The hard part is talking with son1’s roommate… actually son1 is disappointed on how their roommate situation is working out… he feels like they are in a relationship like when he moved in with his first girlfriend… more like they are married than roommates… his roommate is constantly texting him when he is coming home, what are they having for dinner and why aren’t they hanging out together when son1 is with girlfriend or even visiting with us… although son1 feels bad about telling roommate that he wants to join the service and leave roommate hanging after they just got the apartment together for just a couple of months now…

So son1 has some plans to make, talk with roommate, give notice with apartment, he wants to wait til after girlfriend’s birthday in May before signing any papers with military, and he needs to organize storage, move back in with us before finding out his bootcamp plans and orders, plus study for the test to join the military… plus give notice to his job… so lots of changes coming up for him…

Lots of changes for all of us this spring… final change….. it’s hubby’s turn to find a new job now too…

Indy and Maple tired from their day of playing…

Time to get the boys in the showers and start getting ready for work and school tomorrow…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that God doesn't give you what you want, God gives you according to who you are. Change who you are to change your life.

Happy Journaling…

I think son1 made a great decision! I'm sure there will be ups and downs about it in the months ahead, but I do think it is a good decision! I love the names of the kittens, Maple and Indy seem to suit them!!

The kittens are so adorable Linda! I think the military is a wonderful option for son 1.

Have a great weekend :-)
