Happy New Year

IMG_0001

I am feeling really good this New Years Day…

I got off work at 3 yesterday, came home to check email and started in on cooking… I made a big pot of black eyed peas with ham, tomatoes and onions… A big pot of tortilla soup with chicken, zucchini, corn, onions and tomatoes… and Chinese food that hubby picked up from the frozen food section at the grocery store…

Stir fry, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken…

For Christmas I had a bottle of fruit flavored Arbor Mist with lemon lime soda… For New Years I am having the blackberry flavor… which holiday should I have the peach flavor with…

My plates from New Years Eve… tortilla soup and Chinese food… There is a big dish of corn bread in the oven now to go with the black eyed peas tonight and any leftovers we want from last night… and I am making bean dip for son3 to go with his tortilla chips…

This mornings hot chocolate with chocolate covered peppermint marshmallows from the Christmas basket…

One of the mom’s from son3’s class works at a preschool and the preschoolers made calendars for his class… I hung it up today…

Today I was still in a cooking mood… So I made gingerbread cake…

Since I’ve lost weight, I haven’t been able to wear my wedding rings as they fall off… I really miss them… first thing on the to do list when hubby gets a job… resize rings…

Holly says let me in, it is cold and wet out here….

Last night we watched Vampire Sucks and so did the movie, lol… for some reason son3 liked it and watched it again today… we then watched two episodes of Hercules… the boys were on computer games… I was on face book games and fell asleep at one point… so did hubby… son3 was bored with all the waiting for the new year and didn’t see what all the excitement was about… we toasted with Dick Clark with sparkling apple cider… son1 texted Happy New Year from girlfriend’s… we still have yet to see him since he left yesterday…. he has a three day weekend… Today hubby and the boys watched Speed Racer the movie… The corn bread is now done and we are going to eat and watch The Big Bang Theory Season One… Back to work tomorrow but only 30 hours this week, but still lots to do… But good getting home early so son3 and I can finish his Mission project… the boys still have one more week off…

Happy Journaling…

You really were in a mood for cooking. It all looks so good and the cookies sound yummy too! I enjoyed seeing the new slimmer you. I guess I'd have to look twice now to make sure it was you. Happy New Year!

Your photos of the food dishes look so appetizing and colorful that your family appreciates you for on these special occasions. You look wonderful as you described having been on a diet recently. I was up to 250 pounds at one time and have gone up and am back down. Thank you for the comment on my home addition. I could not do all that work again. I have learned a great deal I think since doing it, but I am still no carpenter. It gives me satisfaction and my younger worker has learned things also. Hoping you and your family have a great year in 2011. mark/salty

I'm finally stopping over from Show and Tell - look at you and your skinny self going to town in the kitchen! You really were in a major cooking mood to kick off the new year!

Seeing Holly just reminded me to tell you we have a new kitty that's been hanging around and coming up to eat every night - she looks exactly like Holly :-)
