March Third

February in Pictures...

In February new books came... I am reading The House of Reckoning by John Saul, very scary and suspenseful... In spite of the voices and bodies in the basement, I am more worried if the main character will ever get away from her mean foster parents...

Holly was able to enjoy a day of sunshine outside...

I made a pork roast with carrots, celery, zucchini, onion, red potatoes... I thought it was very colorful...

Morning Doves on the patio...

Those peculiar yellow birds came back again...

They don't eat at the feeders but enjoy singing in the tree...

Blossoms were blooming...

Pork roast and potatoes was very tasty...

Son3 discovered that we have Captain Underpants books and was very excited... He has started reading the first one, let's see if he finishes it...

I ordered son3 through his Scholastic book order at school... Today he brought home another book order form... I love Scholastic... I have already seen a few books to order... Son2 and I want the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series... Scholastic books however are not as cheap as they used to be and they sell the books more in groupings now instead of individuals... I rather buy one or two books for two to four dollars each then sets of five to ten books at fifteen to twenty dollars... plus in some of the sets there are books we already have...

I got the Fireproof movie, book and the Love Dare book... I really liked the Fireproof movie when I saw it... Besides Kirk Cameron most of the people in the movie are not actors... But you watch the movie for it's message... I am reading The Love Dare for Lent... I am not keeping up on it daily like I want though... But it is not something you can just read once, but over and over for renewal...

The seeds are growing like crazy... these are the sunflowers...

more sunflowers, cosmos, California poppies and zinnias...

The clouds come and go bringing rain... It is raining again today...

The birds have eaten over fourteen pounds of birdseed in the month of February...

The birds eating in the rain...

I got two Nora Robert's books in February... The Stephen King books came at Christmas... I am set for reading for a while..

More rain clouds coming...

Or are they going...

The seeds still growing...

Hubby bought these at the dollar store...

And one is coming up, since this picture two more came up...

More clouds and more rain...

The Snow Moon...

Sunset on the last day of February...

It is now 4:15 and I have been working on this entry since 1:00... But I have picked up son3 from school.. (ok now it's 4:45)... son3 and I did his homework... son2 came home... hubby came home... I made pork chops, beans, lima beans and mashed potatoes for dinner.... with leftover chicken and rice... and bread... son1 is at work... talked with hubby... hubby is now talking with son2 about doing homework to improve his grades... just passing the tests is not enough... I am regretting getting son2 an XBox for his bday... son1 has acted like he is five instead of twenty two... buying games and accessories for son2's XBox for himself to use... getting mad when we ask son2 to put the XBox in his room since there are no video games on school nights... son1 getting mad cause why can't he play... his room is the front living room and the XBox is blasting... besides it's son2's XBox not his... I feel he has completely canceled out son2's 16th bday with his selfishness... so what has he done now... he found an XBox with games for a good price on Craig's List and has now bought his own... so son2's XBox is now in his room and he is now watching son1 play his XBox.... I wish I never heard of XBox!
Son3 is watching Electric Company and not reading his Wimpy Kid book... Dinner is ready... hubby is still talking to son2... We have Cirque de Freak: The Vampire's Assitant to watch tonight... I have been looking forward to seeing it, hope it is good...
It's pouring outside... where is the thunder...
I'm off to eat dinner... It's 5:10...

Happy Journaling...

I've been reading a lot of Debbie Macomber books and enjoying them

I'm betting you are hoping Son1 sometime (soon) finds a place to move out to. I know you love him, but sometimes time for them to move on (or at least that's what I think sometimes with son here :)

enjoyed all the pictures of February, can you believe it is March already??

I too have read alot of her books and enjoyed most of them. I saw a couple of familiar ones in your stack. So nice to see Spring happening out there at your house!

I think the sun will sine most of the day here so maybe it will melt some snow.

those boys of yours are really challenging their Mom right now...

Take care!

Great pictures! Those sunflower seedlings look a lot like watermelon sprouts.

Love the pictures..especially the one of the Feb.sunset..very pretty.
Oh yes, those game systems can create
havoc...If only we could get kids to put as much energy into other things as they can put into those games.lol.
Have a great day!

Loved all the pictures of birds, books, clouds and plants. It is good to see things growing, it has been a warm for us winter, still I am ready for spring.
Sorry to hear Son1 is being such a pill, it is hard to live with adult children I know from personal experience. Seems like it is worse when they move out for a while then come home and want the freedom they had on their own and don't want to abide by any rules the family has in place. Hope things get better soon. hugs.

Your header picture is so beautiful. I love how you put it together with all these bees :)

Awesome pictures of February! The flowers and birds are beautiful, but the sky ones are my favorites. I just love the clouds and especially the moon.

I feel for you on the whole xbox thing. That would be tough.

I am so over video games too. I feel like we live in a video arcade or warzone some days.
Great post, cute picture of your beautiful cat and your plants look wonderful. Thanks for the fab photos.

I see how many feeders your wild birds have. I just sprinkle a yogurt cup size a day on my front lawn and the squirrel gets some also. Across the blacktop are single rows of corn that the Wildlife Reserve land has let standing in fields for all animals. I guess that is the reason I only see one squirrel. During the fall when the pecans are in season there and at least 6 of them running around. There are small birds of prey also. I saw one catch a cardinal in mid air years ago. This past year I saw one swoop down and miss. My slow dial-up takes time to open blogs so I have been visiting a little at a time. Mostly I have been outside as much as possible cleaning up my property from vines and other piles of metal from the previous owner and myself. I also have downed trees still to cut up and a pear tree to try to save hopefully. mark/salty

I wish I could get some California poppies to grow in my yard. I see them all over, along the highway, etc. but can't seem to get them started here. Maybe they don't like my dirt. I do have lots of daffodils blooming and everything else is sprouting. I love this time of the year! Linda
P.S. hugs to Holly
