Saturdays

Another Saturday coming to an end... I have been lazy today... Not even looking at my list of things to do... No pressure, lol... Last night I cooked beef enchiladas, cheese quesadillas, corn and salad for dinner... It was a burn day so I started a fire in the fireplace... We had planned on watching part two of John Adams, started watching The Untouchables and ended up watching Underworld... I fell asleep at one part but made it through most of it this time... I fell asleep right after it though and hubby fell asleep half way through Numbers... We were in bed fast asleep by 11pm with son3 calling out at 3:30am for someone to turn on the hall light... He sleeps with a small light on his room and the hall light, which we turn off and hope he doesn't notice til morning... I was then awakened by a cat meowing at 6am, thought it was Holly but she was asleep with son3 so it must have been one of Holly's gentlemen callers outside...

We need to get her fixed as soon as possible, she is drawing attention from all the male cats in the neighborhood that are not fixed... I'm also wondering if she has a bladder of steel as she never goes that I can see... She does not use the litter box, she refuses to go out unless we go with her and then we don't see her do anything... We have only found a couple of accidents in the garage and one behind the chair in the front room, so what, she only goes once a month, lol...

Today hubby had to close to cover for another associate who had a family matter to attend to, they gave hubby a thank you note and gift card for McDonald's for switching his schedule to accommodate their vacation... So he was home this morning for family breakfast time and we got to sleep in til 8am... So talking with the boys, showering, trying to get son3 to pull his tooth and getting hubby to work was the extent of the morning...

Yesterday son3's school called me at work... During lunch recess he bonked with another boy hitting his mouth and causing his two month long loose tooth to bleed... I was like yay it came out but no it is still hanging by a thread... The poor lady in the office was flustered as he would not even let her look at it... So I got them both calmed down and went on with my day... Meanwhile it poured all day yesterday with flooding and thunder even... So hubby was worried about the boys getting home from school... Then at pick up son3 got in trouble for lying to his teacher that he had the missed work in his backpack from when he was in the office cause he thought he would get in trouble from us for bringing home classwork cause he was in the office.... When he wasn't in trouble til he lied and got in worse trouble... argh.... So no computer games for him last night and he had to do the math page as soon as he got home even though he has three days off... Of course then meanwhile the tooth is barely hanging by a thread and he still won't pull it out or let us touch it... So he was on a time out this morning, threatened him with no movies and no games, but nothing works... so the latest is I told him he has til tomorrow, but Monday me and his dad are pulling it out the hard way... with drama and trauma.... the new tooth is almost all the way in...

So this afternoon he and son2 played Heroscape, although son2 is grumpy and snappy today, watched Madagascar 2, Space Buddies (son3's fourth time), son3 is playing computer games, son2 and I watched Bones, and now son2 is doing his chores and as soon as I finish this entry I'm off to do a second load of dishes, fold laundry and watch Ghost Whisperer...

I also cooked tomorrow's dinner today... I don't really follow recipes... I use what I have, maybe look up a recipe for temperatures or seasoning suggestions... But usually I just experiment with the basics... Hubby says my experiments always come out good.... So I took 3 mini tri tip roasts and put them in the big turkey pan with two cans of chicken broth, apple vinegar, seasonings, can of pineapple with juice, potatoes and carrots and cooked it for about two hours.... I sampled a potato wedge, mmmmmmm, gonna be good....

I also mailed out the bday cards today and spent awhile on facebook and read through some blogs...

Not too much at work, I have mostly just been opening boxes to be ready for inventory next month and I am still getting used to these later hours... Tomorrow I go in early to set the ad and then work til 2pm...

Happy Journaling...

These kids can sure keep you busy without them even trying. Hope you have had a good weekend so far. Hugs, Janie

The dinner sounds so delicious!!!! Oh the tooth story has me cracking up... poor little guy afraid to have anyone look at it... he needed to hear mom's voice first... so sweet!!! What a darling! Sounds like a nice Saturday and as always great movies to watch at your house. Hope you have a fantastic day and way to go hubby for getting that McD's card. Always nice to get a gift card. He deserves it.

Hey Babe, know what? Everybody says Blogger is not the same as AOL. Well, it is the same, 'cause we are the same people! We just need to make it a little more community oriented here somehow. And we will.

But we ARE the same.

Thanks so much for your comment in my blog. John is going in for treatment this coming week. His cancer is not back, but his immunities are down, his antibodies. So he needs something called IVIG. It is human plasma cells. So it won't be a bone marrow transplant, but it is kind of serious, in the sense that some have had bad reactions from it. He did the first time he had it. But then he had something else going on to. So I don't know which ended him up in the ICU, the IVIG or the other thing. He was hospitalized for a month though, last time. At least I think. So prayers please!

You know, you are the first I've told about this outside of parents, Val and one blogger friend. Why did I choose you? Because you left such a nice comment showing you care. Others will probably learn this week, when I blog about it. I hope I do. I have been doing so many things I haven't had time. But I need to blog again. Oh, I wasn't keeping this about John a secret -- we just found out a few days ago.
Gotta run!

your dinners sound delicious..totally cool that Bill got a gift card and a thank you note....Chad went to the dentist once for a cleaning and the dentist pulled two baby teeth that Chad had never told me were stuck....and both the 2 adult teeth had come in OVER the baby teeth and he had been in daily pain...he was so relieved when the dentist pulled them....it has rained here and the ice and snow seem to be melting. Oh my goodness, you have a lot going on! I don't know how you do it! The impromptu recipe actually sounded quite good! I wish I had that kind of talent. You will have to let us know how it turned out. Blessings!

There is something good about skipping the "to do" list once in awhile. I'm sure you were far from lazy though...that just doesn't seem to be a word that describes you.

Your roast experiment sounded REALLY good.....

Good for you on skipping your list, we don't need to follow a list everyday!!! Your meals sound delicious - I wish I could be creative but I don't even do well when following a recipe.
Enjoy your Sunday, leave that to do list go again ;)
