*Saturday*

Ahhhhh it's Saturday... and I have a chore list a mile long, lol.... and yet here I sit... I have been deleting pictures from AOL photos and photobucket, cleaning everything up for a new start... no need to save them for the journal that will soon be gone since I have them all saved on CD's... I have such mixed feelings though... It's sad deleting everything but I knew I did not want to migrate, besides there is no way all the pictures on my journal would have migrated and my entries won't make sense without all the pictures to refer too.... The main entries I will miss are all the photo scavenger hunt entries, lol... but then if it wouldn't have been for all the themes and entries to be written I would not have all the photos and memories to look back on in my photo cd's.... and with all the entries that were written and the loading and reloading of pictures into the journal the all the better to remember what each photo was, lol.... So I'm looking forward to the clean slate of all the new photo challenges and entries that are created not just cause life happens but cause if we 'did this' it would make a good journal entry, lol...

And yesterday the whole four hours wasn't spent just working with making slide shows but I was shopping.... I was over at Current Catalog, shopping for goodies for the trick or treaters and then to DoubleDay for new books for Christmas... Tomorrow we are going to start building the grave decorations for the front yard for Halloween and start putting out a few decorations... It has been way windy the last few days, which I was thinking it usually is this time of year cause just when everyone starts decorating for Halloween the wind comes and blows it all down.... Our temps have been so nice in the 70's but we will be back to 85 by Wednesday.... It was nice weather for the fair, I even wore long sleeves thinking fall thoughts... We got there about noon and started working our way to the food stopping at exhibits as we went... The Jr exhibit, SPCA, the Gem exhibit, then lunch, the advertising/business exhibits, agricultural exhibit, horticultural exhibit, waterfall, pirate ship and fort and then on to the animals... By 5pm I was pooped, so we headed home and had banana splits for dinner since we were still full from lunch, lol...

Did you notice the fried foods... would you or have you tried... poptarts, oreos, spam, frog legs, avocados, veggies, zucchini, twinkies.... I always have the zucchini and I would definitely try the veggies and probably the spam and even the frog legs before I would try the poptarts or oreos.... can we say heart attack.........

Ok I'm getting the hang of putting in the pictures and dragging them, just have to do them one at a time as you write each paragraph... of course we all know that I am far from a one picture at a time kind of person, lol.... So lets see what have we been up to this week... I have barely been working with the supervisor but one day a week as we have no hours but it has been better cause I get so much more done as we are not talking... some management changes coming up again in the next month or so, not the supervisor but her boss... Still haven't heard from son1, don't know what's up... Son2 has been showing his teen horns lately... so grumpy and no patience for son3... Son2 has been wanting to go to the football games, paintball, friends house... I'm all for him going out, gives us a break from the grumpiness, lol, but he doesn't get all the information until it is too late to go... So we're working on his communication skills.... Son3 has been getting in trouble again... twice this past week, once in class and then in after school care... it's not so much the getting in trouble, just boy stuff of goofing around but the shutting down and refusing to come or go to punishment when the teacher tells him... puts fingers in his ears or turns his back on teacher... and we are learning it's not just the zero tolerance that the teachers are dealing with but the fact that their hands are tied when it comes to discipline too... can't be politically correct on discipline and expect zero tolerance... so hubby and I are still figuring all this new school politics out... so different from when son2 and son1 went to school... of course the school or teachers don't come straight out and say their hands are tied, just what we are seeing... I did however make a mistake when talking to the daycare teacher when I said son3 does not act like this at home and why he is pushing the teachers on defiance... cause hubby pointed out that son2 acts that way with us so that is where son3 is getting it... cause no matter what we ask son2 to do, he takes his time about it or just forgets.... so even though son3 is grounded again from video games, both boys are in trouble for rudeness and inappropriate behavior to adults....

Wow this is the most relaxed I have felt all week, lol... Actual time to just write.... I just wish I had more time than just once a week... As soon as I get caught up with all the new blogs to read then I might just feel organized... Of course all the new fall shows to watch, take up time... So far we are watching: Terminator TSCC, Fringe, Bones, Criminal Minds, CSI NY, Smallville, Supernatural, CSI, Ghost Whisperer and Numbers.... And then whatever comes from Netflix... We have the original Lost Boys to watch now and Don't Mess with the Zohan comes today and a Goosebumps for the boys... Plus homework, although son3 is doing good with homework and son2 never has homework although he is reading The Hobbit for a book report and he just finished a report on Edgar Allen Poe that he got a 48/50... His goal, not ours, this year is to get a 4.0... His progress report just came and it was 3.57; 5 A's and 4 B's... I haven't had any time for yard work or taking pictures... The pictures in Not Just Roses are from last month that I am just now putting in.... I need to do some serious house cleaning like dusting and bathrooms.... Son3 wants to make cakes, brownies and a cake today... He and son2 are watching the original Terminator movies today... Plus I want to cook some dinners for the week... So I best get busy with some chores, dishes, laundry and catching up all the reading of everyone's new blogs all before hubby gets home from work... I just work in the morning tomorrow to set the ad and then home to decorate for Halloween....
Happy Journaling...

Still sounds so busy over there - but a relaxing kind of busy I suppose.

I have been so lazy about things lately, ever since trying to get all this AOL to Blogger stuff taken care of. I think I'm finally done and think I'm also caught up on everyone's blogs.

The boys went to the homecoming game last night, teen son is going to the homecoming dance tonight, the little one will be pouting because he doesn't get to do something special too ::rolling eyes::

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday - and don't forget to get some food photos while you're doing your cooking! A new challenge Fantastic Food challenge will be posted later this evening or tomorrow! :-)

It sounds like you have a full schedule on your hands. It's nice to hear you do actually relax! I have never heard of alot of those things fried, I don't think I would want to try too many of them either. Happy decorating!

good grades for son2! that's awesome!! son3 will get the hang of it and hopefully will realize its better to behave then to keep losing privileges and being in trouble; who knows about son1, chances are things must be going good with him or he'd be asking for money? (oh wait, that's just my kid, LOL)

glad you had a good day off :)

I'm so glad to hear from you. A real entry. Don't feel bad I haven't heard from Kait either it's two weeks. Haven't seen Kyan either. Sad about that, but I don't want to do anything about it until Wednesday because if he sees me he'll want to stay and I have appointments through Tuesday so it sucks. Our weather has been about the same here too. Now it's back in the 80s, by Halloween we'll be freezing again. Ah, the joys of raising BOYS! Thank goodness I only had one that was enough. They all are the same. Son3 really fingers in ears, turning backs boy he's gonna be in big trouble with Santa. He's so damn cute though how can you be mad at him. I'd have to laugh. See I'm no good at displine especially now that I'm grandma I think everything is no big deal. You watch a lot of the shows I do. Congrats on the good grades son2 wow. That age is always last minute stuff none of them know what planning means and it takes twenty calls to find out what time and where. I remember well or the plans change every five minutes. Teen life. Yum send me some brownies. You guys smash a huge pan all by yourselves. I love that you had banana splits for dinner that one night whoo hoo a family after my own heart. I knew I loved you guys for a reason.
Hugs, Chrissie

How did you save your journals to Cd's?

I'm mostly known as 'MA' said...

Fair food is always good it seems we go to them to eat and little else. I've yet to get the pictures right. It seems they are always at the top of my entry. I'll have to try dragging them. Hope your Monday is a great one!

Seems like you are getting it all under control over there.

You will get used to the new set up here in no time. There IS something refreshing about a clean slate once in awhile.

I'm glad you still say, "Happy Journaling..." :)

I discovered Photobucket early on, so what pictures will disappear isn't going to be that drastic. I was surprised how atattached to my journal and some of those entries I was. I'm relieved Vish was able to restore the deleted journal long enough for me to migrate it. I had so many milestone moments in those pages.

I think Blogger is easier as we get used to it. As for the fried oreos and pop tarts, I agree a heart attack waiting to happen. You would think it was enough those things were high in sugar without added cholesterol to the mix.

Here's to hoping you can continue to relax and take it easy. Me? I'm suppose to be painting my computer area, sigh...someday this house will be done. (Hugs)Indigo

Yes, it's tough learning all this at Blogger. AOL sure did make life easy. I'm wondering why my little avatar I guess you would call it isn't showing up under my journal name. Hmmmmm. I'm going to have try to figure that one out.
I'm with you on the transfering thing. I was going to try and do it tonight, but I'm wrestling now. I still have time to think about it and make a decision. I have saved my entries about losing my Mom and some other important entries.
I hope the boys "level" out soon. Would make life so much easier right? lol Boys will be boys though :)

Have a great night!
Huggers,
Gayla
