The new baby cubs at our zoo in the above picture from Facebook…

They are only a couple of months old… They are only able to be viewed by a TV monitor at the zoo… but I still want to go see them…

Meanwhile I just worked the last six days in a row…

Finally a day off today…

And now it is over…

This morning hubby got the boys off to school…

We then had breakfast and watched two episodes of Haven…

I finally got the taxes printed correctly… I guess with the closure of the government it delayed taxes this year, so all forms were not available right away…

Sent hubby off to work…

Had lunch while playing with the Smart version of the smart TV… really nothing to do there as it seems each app I click on costs money…

Filled the birdfeeders…

Emptied the dishwasher…

Did two loads of laundry…

Picked up son2 from college…

Lectured both boys on responsibility…

Son2 only went to one of his classes even though he was at school for over seven hours…

Son3 forgot he had a test today in history… he got a C but what would have happened if he studied…

Lectured them on chores… and how to do them without having to be told all the time…

Of course I was frustrated with myself too as I don’t get all my chores done all week either but that is because I am at work…

Son2 only goes to school two days a week, still doesn’t drive and has only filled out a couple of job applications… he prefers to play video games and be on Reddit…

He is twenty years old…

Son3 did his science homework…

I did my paperwork from work…

I made catfish and potatoes for dinner… I forgot the stewed tomatoes… tomorrow with the leftovers…

I have been adding blogs to my reader… I don’t have time to read the blogs I do have… but now I have more…

9780758226853_p0_v1_s260x420

I read some of my book today… Isn’t that a great book cover… A skeleton, a swing, a cat and a book…

My friend, you may recognize her too, has just put out her second book… I can’t wait to order it… It’s the first in a series she will be writing… and she designed the cover…

I am off this weekend…

My footwear audit is on Tuesday the fourth…

We are expecting rain for the next four days… I hope so…

I think I will go read in my book til hubby gets home…

But first check on the boys…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

fear results from doubt.

When you are not sure, when you hope for the best, then you will fear the worst. When you are absolutely certain, even if it is a certainty of suffering, fear disappears, and strength flows in its place.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

faith is exactly what it takes to get through uncertainty.

Faith is not necessary when you know how things are going to work out, - that's knowledge. It's in the time of unknowing that having faith is what sees you through to the other side. Faith is what gives you strength. Faith is that light in your heart that keeps on shining even when it's all darkness outside. Now is the time to keep that faith alive!

Pictures from the yard from a couple of days ago…

IMG_0002

When I was first over being sick I was so refreshed and rested…

IMG_0003

But Tuesday the crazy lady came back and I was so grumpy…

IMG_0004

Then Wednesday til now I just feel down…

IMG_0005

I stopped taking my green tea/berry tablet and I don’t feel so fat and bloated… plus I have continued to eat better and less since being sick… so I may have actually lost 7-9 pounds depending on the day…

1655907_10152268990012384_222401494_n

I want to have positive thoughts and take one day at a time… but there is so much to do at work and so many visits/audits coming… and I know in the past we had the same thing and failed the visits and yet we are all still here… but I just want to feel accomplished… Every day I say I will only worry about today… so I go to work, do my paper work, hold the manager phone, try to give direction to bodies that are also running crazy, open a box or two and then the day is over and we start all over the next day with nothing to show that we did anything… or anything checked off the list to get ready for the visits/audits…

I spent over an hour this morning doing paperwork for work on my own time and I text and called into work to give direction… I now close today, tomorrow and Sunday… we’ll see if I am able to get anything done in the department with my closing manager duties for the store plus being the weekend so my associates are busy ringing at the cash wraps instead of being in the department cleaning and assisting customers…

See I sound so negative… I will be positive… We can do everything!

IMG_0006

Hubby finally got a minute to work in the yard and cut down more of the lemon tree…

IMG_0007

Even hubby is working 35-38 hours at his part time job… we are so grateful for him to have a job and to get so many hours… but just seems all we do is work… probably with working retail we do not have a set schedule so we can’t tell the difference between a work day and a play day with someone always at work or school… we don’t have “weekends”…

Speaking of which… time to get ready to go to work now for me… hubby is already at work…

Remember when I complained he wasn’t at work… lol… I’m glad he’s at work… but now he’s not getting his chores done around the house…

I’ll be glad when the sun says up longer… I noticed we change the clocks, I think, next month…

Above is the monkey and flowers with hearts that I got for hubby… They are on his art table so he can see them…

IMG_0004

The matchbox cards that I made for hubby… the one in front is a larger matchbox that I decorated and filled with chocolates… the small one in the back on the left is a small matchbox that I decorated and the one on the right is a small matchbox that I made from a template that I found at Pinterest…

IMG_0005IMG_0007

The card hubby made for me… on the left is the front that he decorated with a paper doily that he cut up and then used paint to write happy valentine’s and look like it was the same as the doily… on the right is the inside where he used papers to make like a flip card to read the sentiment…

IMG_0008

And then some candy hearts I got for us to share…

I was back at work today…

I had a good day…

I did tire easily as our store is huge and I had the manager phone in the morning…

But I got everyone back on track and got a few things done and got some paper work done even though I brought home a pile to sort through..

Guess who I found sick on the couch with a 103 temp watching YouTube on my smart TV when I got home from work…

Son3…

I kept telling him yesterday it sounded like he was getting sick, but he would say, “No”…

So I got him settled in his bed with some Tylenol and YouTube on his computer…

His temp is since down to 100 and he has had a pumpkin muffin and a soda…

I just went in to check on him and he was asleep… of course I made the mistake of turning off his computer and he woke right up… I said go back to sleep… he said turn on the TV… I said give it five minutes… He’s sleeping now…

I’m off tomorrow and hubby is off on Wednesday, which is good as I’m sure he will be missing a day or two of school… although he said it is not good to miss school in jr high… I’m sure he was referring to all the work he will have to make up…

Son2 went to Monterey to the aquarium today with a couple of friends… They are just on their way home now, so it will be a couple more hours, so I’m nervously waiting for him to get home…

But the house is so nice and quiet… hubby at work, son2 out with friends, son3 asleep…

Although I’m surrounded by cats… and I’m sitting on my exercise ball… should I be worried…

I think I’ll go read til hubby gets home…

Hubby and I finally exchanged our Valentine’s today…

I will have to take after pictures later as my camera batteries have died and all my spare batteries have been used up by son3 for his gaming remotes…

Hubby made eggs and toast this morning…

So I am starting to eat solid food again…

I did manage to somehow lose about 9 pounds while sick, so I’m going to use that as a motivation to keep on track…

Right now my stomach is growling… Hubby has gone off to get deli chicken and sherbet… I will have a small bowl of sherbet, chicken wings and spinach salad… no pasta salad…

I am also sitting on my exercise ball as I type…

IMG_0003

On Friday night while I was sick, hubby moved the extra computer into son3’s room since he mostly uses it… This is a special treat and we can ground him from it at any time and then it will sit there and taunt him in his own room…

IMG_0002

Today I set up my laptop in the art room next to hubby where the old computer was…

IMG_0004

So now my main desk in the dining room will be for paper projects instead of online… So I can go in the art room for quiet time when online… I have since dusted and straightened the desk but lots of paper projects need addressing…

IMG_0005

Son2 on his laptop today…

Yesterday when he checked the mail he found a ladies' wallet stuffed behind one of our bushes on the side of the house… Of course all the money was gone and no credit cards but her ID and social security cards were still inside… We thought maybe someone in the neighborhood but when we looked up her address, she lives all the way across town by the city college… So hubby called the police today and they sent a car out to pick it up… She may have reported it stolen and our house is where the ‘stupid criminals’ dropped it…

IMG_0006

Son3 on his XBox live… He had downloaded or clicked on so many things that he has crashed it twice now… so once again son2 has cleaned it up and got it running for him…

After me being sick and hubby at work and no one paying much attention to son3 I realized he would never get off his XBox if we didn’t make him after 8-9-10-12 hours… so today I told him for now he can only be on for two hours at a time and then he has to take a half hour break… so he has had one break today and actually read some of his Wimpy Kid book… Now he is on his second two hour shift… lol… I don’t think he got off to pee or have a drink yesterday and was on from 9:30 to almost 8:30pm… He did fix himself some left over pizza, a chimichanga and some pizza rolls…

IMG_0007

Candy box and Balloon that son3 and son2 each got… These were son2’s… Son3 already ate his candy yesterday… oh yeah that’s what else he ate yesterday…

Hubby is back from the store…

Dinner is ready…

Who is going to tell son3 he has to get off XBox again… It’s for his own good…

Then again we also have to pry son2 off his games…

Maybe we’ll just let them eat at their games and hubby and I will have a quiet dinner…

Maybe I can get him to watch Fireproof…

I’m sick…

I’m never sick…

I even had to call out of work for two days…

Which means after tomorrow I will have been off for four days with my days off…

If I was at work and someone else had called out I would think they were trying to get a long Valentine’s weekend…

722810_default

But really I’ve been sick…

With the flu…

Hubby has slept on the couch for two nights now so he doesn’t get my cooties…

cute-happy-valentines-day-sayingsfriendship-happy-valentine-day-funny-quotes---quoteko-ggm7gh8a

I was off on Tuesday and hubby and I went to the grocery store before he had to go to work…

On Wednesday at work I kept having weird chest pains/flutters… thought it was just my usual freak out self lately that I can’t relax…

On Thursday, my day off, I woke with a sore throat, stuffy nose… by the afternoon when I picked up son2 from college, I had a fever…

All day Thursday I ate well… oatmeal for breakfast, tomato soup for lunch, chicken noodle soup for dinner that son2 brought to me on a tray as I was starting to feel bad…

happy valentines day

Thursday night I had a temp of a 103, body aches, headache, coughing…

By Friday morning my fever was down to 101 but I felt like a truck had run me over…

So I called out of work…

And slept most of the day…

Today I have been up since 5am after all the sleep…

I still have body aches and a cough…

I’ve been eating applesauce and jello and apple juice and toast…

I’ve also hobbled around the house a bit but am still wobbly so called out of work again today…

I’m feeling better but not…

In bed but bored…

Can’t find anything to watch…

I feel blah and stuff makes me feel blaher…

Happy-Valentines-Day-2014

I haven’t had a nap today so will probably fall asleep early which isn’t good as hubby gets home later in the evening today…

But he can sleep in his own bed tonight…

I’m past the contagious stage…

Son2 is here keeping me company now…

We’re waiting for the sheets to dry so we can put on non cootie sheets for hubby tonight…

Hubby and I still need to exchange our Valentine treats…

I gave the boys a monkey balloon and box of chocolates with a monkey on the box this morning…

Hubby and I were supposed to go to the zoo and out to eat tomorrow but since I’ve been sick that’s probably not going to happen…

We’ll go another day just because…

And we can still get a special treat for dinner tomorrow…

And I can eat a bit if I’m in the eating mood by then…

I’m thinking with all the craziness I’ve been feeling lately, God decided I needed a minute to regroup and that life goes on cause I’m not in control, he is…
