Fourth of July

 

I had to work on the Fourth of July, but I got time and  a half AND I got holiday pay for the day… And when I got home hubby bbqed hamburgers…

I made potato salad… not very pretty in the picture, but very yummy… I used red potatoes and added apple vinegar, mayo, honey mustard, sugar and boiled eggs… I just realized I forgot the paprika on top…

Hubby found some king size marshmallows that he and son2 roasted on the grill with hot dog grilling sticks…

Hubby’s hamburgers are the best… he adds a package of onion soup, Worchester sauce, garlic salt and Ritz crackers… they are so moist, they melt in your mouth…

We had watermelon…

And we walked out of the neighborhood to the main expressway to see the fireworks across the freeway at the waterpark…

We also watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry with Adam Sandler and Kevin James… not very patriotic but very funny…

Alice in Wonderland

This past Spring I enlightened the boys with all the different versions of Alice in Wonderland... I've been wanting to do an entry on all the different versions but keep getting distracted... Hopefully I can remember which one was which...


1951~The Disney Classic~5 out of 5 stars...


1966~Agnes Moorehead, Jimmy Durante, Smother Brothers, Jack Palance and Ricardo Montalban... Wonderful stage props/scenery and classic actors... However it had a laugh track that was very annoying... 3 out of 5 stars...


1972~Peter Sellers and Dudley Moore... A musical version... The boys didn't like the musical versions... 3 out of 5 stars...


1985~Sammy Davis Jr, Red Buttons, Roddy McDowall, Sally Struthers, Scott Baio, and Ringo Star... Musical Version... I think this was my favorite one, although I liked them all... 4 out of 5 stars...


1999~Creatures brought to life by Jim Henson's Creature Shop... Whoopie Goldberg, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Lloyd, and Martin Short... 3 out of 5 stars...


2009~I liked this twisted modern version of Alice in Wonderland... 4 out of 5 stars...


2010~and I was very pleased with Tim Burton's version and that he stayed true to the story... I think his version of the caterpillar was the best of all the Alice's... 4 out of 5 stars...


Here is me in the fifth grade... We had to dress as a character from our favorite book... I picked Alice in Wonderland...
