Happy Grandparents Day…
It’s funny that hubby and I now fall in this category…
Son1 posting pictures of grandbaby on Facebook…
49ers won 28-17…
Son1’s liking his new little lucky charm…
I was on vacation this week…
I go back to work tomorrow…
What a whirlwind of a week…
Saturday/30th: DIL was supposed to be admitted to hospital to be induced at 11am but they were rescheduled to 4pm because there were no rooms available…
So hubby, son2 and I went shopping… We went to the Dollar store so I could make a flower arrangement to bring to DIL in hospital, we went to PetSmart so son2 could get a new fish tank and we went to Target so I could get grandbaby his first Halloween sleeper…
New 37 gallon tank on the left, old 5 gallon tank on the right…
On Sunday/31st: I called out of work and I was at the hospital by 10am… I was able to be in her room with her.. Hubby went to work but by 4pm his work told him he could leave two hours early… So he picked up the boys and when they got to the hospital we ran across the street to Sweet Tomatoes as none of us had really eaten yet that day… We then all went to the waiting room where finally at 1:41am on Sept. 1st, grandson was finally born…
On Monday/1st: Hubby and I both had to work as it was a holiday and we work retail… of course holiday time and time and a half are good incentives… plus we could share our good news and baby pictures..
On Tuesday/2nd: Hubby and I were both off but it was the fastest day ever… Hubby had an appointment for his annual physical in the morning and then we went to the grocery store in the afternoon…
On Wednesday/3rd: Hubby had an appointment to have a mole checked… He’s had it forever but he felt like it had changed… however to check it they removed it and now it is gone and I told him if I ever have to identify his body that mole was what I was going to use… lol… Hubby had to then go to work and I got to sit with DIL and grandbaby while son1 went to the store to get supplies and to his work to drop off papers for his leave… Also in the morning I went to work in the morning to make the department schedule only to be reminded that due to the holiday the schedule wasn’t due til Thursday… not a total waste I did get most of the work done… and then in the evening my boss text me to text the team some things to do to get ready for the visit on Thursday… I did not do it though because I AM ON VACATION…
On Thursday/4th: Back to work a second time on my vacation… in less then an hour I was done with the schedule and back in the car… Hubby had to go to work and I was able to get a few things done around the house… plus make a teriyaki chicken dinner for Friday…
On Friday/5th: it was another fast day… Hubby and I were both home so we finally got to get gas in my van and wash it and put air in the tires that I have been trying to do since my birthday, well except the gas part… We went to Walmart because we had forgotten toilet paper at the grocery store plus hubby got windshield wipers for my van… We then went to Barnes and Noble to get the book What to Expect the First Year for DIL and son1… that was hubby and I bible for the boys… We then stopped by to visit grandbaby but son1 and DIl are doing so well we were mostly watching TV while grandbaby was sleeping, that we headed home for our chicken dinner and they were going to a birthday dinner with her family… I also text work to see what my schedule was for this week and found I was off Tuesday and Wednesday, not Sunday and Thursday as I had requested… So at first I was like fine I’ll come in on Sunday, but I can’t have Tuesday and Wednesday off as I’ll still have to go in for a couple of hours to make the schedule on my day off and Thursday I had an eye appointment… so work said they would talk to the store manager and to check back on Saturday…
On Saturday/6th: Hubby made a big breakfast of eggs and sausages… We had a lazy day of piddling around the house and hubby has been working on the Halloween card… Except for the waiting on work to find out what my schedule was today… Finally the store manager said I could be off on Sunday and come back on Monday…. I didn’t want to push the Thursday issue so I cancelled my eye appointment and will just reschedule as soon as I find out my next schedule… I tried to reschedule for this Wednesday but they didn’t have any appointments… Plus I think there is a visit on Thursday… And on Saturday I worked on my store 2 home board that I am responsible for at work making candy bags for those that met the monthly goal…
On Sunday/7th: And here we are on Sunday… A new week… a regular day off… So overall for my whole vacation, I only took 3 actual paid vacation days… the rest were regular days off with me calling out on one day… So this week I will be off on Sunday and Wednesday…
I needed today though to get into a going back to work frame of mind… Hubby is at work and the boys are in their rooms… I have cleaned the bathrooms, played on the laptop, filled out rebates for our new cell phones, vacuumed, made brownies (discovering that hubby used all the eggs for breakfast yesterday, and that after looking online you can substitute bananas, so we shall see how they taste), made lasagna, and now I am going to mend some of son3’s pants, fill out the September birthday cards and finish reading my book-Warrior’s Women by Johanna Lindsey til hubby gets home…
Only 54 more days…
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
the great advantage of having nothing is that everything becomes a gain.
Losing everything is at the same time the scariest, as well as the most liberating experience you can have. When you have something, - anything, you've got to protect it from disappearing. And so worry becomes a resident in your heart. When you've got nothing, your heart overflows with gratitude for every offering you receive.
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
it's time you let go.
Yes, of course, you want to control so everything happens in just the way you want it. But at the end of the day, we control nothing, - it's all in God's hands, - has always been, and will always be. So, do what you can, and then let go, and let God handle the rest.
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
be gentle with yourself.
When you ask God to forgive you for past mistakes and transgressions, don’t forget to forgive yourself.

understanding comes from love.
You might believe that you need to understand another to love them. The truth is you need to love them to understand them.
