Yesterday got away from me and all my bragging of being ahead of the day and the computer working were for naught... It was 1pm by time I got done with everything on the computer with all the loading and cranking it is doing while loading each thing... Hubby says I need more memory but I also think that the computer does a lot of stuff without my permission and I haven't completely figured out how to tell it to quit it...
But I am all caught up with reading about everyone and I feel good about that... I ignored the dishes yesterday and we had leftovers for dinner... I did finish paying all the bills and the checkbook is balanced once again... and son2 and I watched a couple of Emergency episodes...
Son2 is thinking he now wants to be a firefighter when he grows up... He was researching it online for a while yesterday... The city college in Fresno even offers a program for EMT/Paramedic... but he is thinking of just fireman... Did you know firemen only work 8 days a month, a 24 hour day with two days off in between... they make between $55000-$70000 a year and most have a second job since they have all those days off in between... Hubby says can we just get through high school... lol...
I did get a bit grumpy yesterday thinking of only two days til back to work... ssshhhhh... I'm not grumpy cause I did nothing on vacation, so that's a good thing... I did eat too much on vacation so now I'm thinking it's a good thing to go to work and not be near the food... I put the Easter candy away yesterday as son2 and I have each finished off a bag of jelly beans... So my chocolate Easter bunnies are safely hidden away in my room for an emergency... and the rest is in the pantry for the boys to forget about along with all the candy from holidays past... and that is why at Halloween and you get Easter and Christmas candy, it is called Trick or Treat...
We keep hearing thumps in the house of things falling... twice we did discover that it was something in son2's room that had fallen... but on Wednesday we heard a thud and couldn't figure out where it came from... I noticed in the yard a whole bunch of feathers and thought oh no, Holly got a bird, but we couldn't find a body... but then we realized a bird had hit the window and that was the thud and he ricocheted into the rosebush losing a bunch of feathers and hopefully flying off with just a headache.... But then yesterday Holly really did get a bird... Took out a bird feeder and a large branch off a rosebush in her accomplishment... Poor little birdie... I see his friends out there now, and Holly is out there some where too being all proud of herself...
Well I am off to get dressed and showered at only 10:20 in the morning and watch Fireproof since no one has wanted to watch any of my movies with me this week... I put in Life of Brian for hubby last night when he grumbled about watching Fireproof, so I went back on the computer... I also want to watch Twilight today and then all the other movies I had planned on watching will just have to wait til other days off... We did watch Bones and CSI last night and I watched Harper's Island while hubby was snoring...
The boys are off on their games... I told son3 he has to read his two library books today and tomorrow... such torture...
Happy Journaling...

Thursday on Vacation...
I'm so clever... Maybe... Yesterday I spent most of the morning at war with the computer... I have always had AOL and paid for it until the last six months or so it is now free... Everything is in my AOL screen name... However a couple of years ago when we got DSL it came through SBC although the ad was through AOL... I have tried using SBC mail, but I like AOL best... Since now getting AOL for free or maybe just a coincidence and my computer is getting old, everything keeps freezing up when I am on AOL, so I tried going online through SBC, same thing, web sites constantly freezing up the whole computer... A while back I even updated Internet Explorer to have the AOL toolbar but I couldn't do a blog entry on internet explorer so kept going back to AOL... Well anyway.... yesterday I was reading blogs on AOL and when I would close out of the blog I was reading the computer would default to internet explorer, yes I have internet explorer as my default as it is labeled Blank, but this has never happened before, and then the whole computer would freeze up with internet explorer trying to open the blog and a hundred blank tabs... So finally I said fine I will try using internet explorer again... So far I love it! I don't have to wait for AOL to load... my AOL mail is on the toolbar to check, along with Facebook, Blogger and a few of my other favorite websites... and I figured out how to close tabs without accidentally closing internet explorer every time I closed something... and the best part I figured how to do a blog entry with pictures.... just turn off the pop up blocker and ta da, allows me to do an entry with pictures.... I'm happy... :)
It has been so windy here the last couple of days... and I'm freezing... I had the heater on yesterday and I just turned it on now... Yesterday was only 60 degrees here in Fresno and today will get to 68, Friday 78 and Saturday 86, finally... but are you ready for summer cause Sunday and Monday it will be 93 degrees... That's the Spring weather we are used to in Fresno, lol...
It is 9:30am, I've been up since 6:30am when hubby left for work... The boys are still sleeping in the family room, they camped out there last night watching Transformers... I'm munching on shredded wheat wondering if I'll get anything done today on vacation... So far this has been a very lazy vacation...
Yesterday in between fighting with the computer and refereeing the boys who are just about done with vacation and ready to go back to school... I cut up the bit of ham that was left and threw that along with the bone in a pot of pinto beans and let it simmer all day... We had it over rice with catsup and garlic salt, mmmmmm.... Hubby went to the store for milk and brought home a roasted chicken that we also munched on with a cheese pizza for son3 and some chicken strips... We watched The Tale of Despereaux... It was very cute! Son2 and I also during the day watched about four episodes of Emergency... I shredded some old files from the file cabinet and filed a pile that was building... did a bit of laundry and a bit of dishes... We watched Bones, it is on twice this week and hubby and I watched Criminal Minds and taped CSI NY... I also got caught up on reading journals... Other than that is was a pretty fast day...
The boys are starting to get movied and video gamed out on vacation... I can't get either of them to read any books... nor any interest in the paint sets they got for Christmas... They haven't gone any where as they have barely gotten showered or dressed, lol... Oh well we will be hopping once again next week once we are back to school and work... I was hoping to at least get the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned beyond the usual basics of upkeep but not there yet... and the checkbook balanced... and work in the yard a bit... and watch some of my movies... and write out an outline of all the things I would like to accomplish the rest of the year... for example I wanted to clean out one drawer a week since January... Here we are on week fifteen of the year and I've done two drawers... my sock drawer and son3's sock drawer... Well, still three days of vacation left... miracles happen... I'm off to check on journals... one more click on facebook and then showered and dressed and I'm ahead of the day....

Tuesday on Vacation...
My fourth day of vacation... Hubby is off to work and I have been on the computer all morning... But I've done some dishes, laundry, fed the boys, fed me, showered and dressed... The boys are on their eleventh day of vacation... They've video/computer games a bit but mostly they have been watching movies... They are watching Meet the Robinsons right now...
We had a good Easter on Sunday... We were up early, had blueberry/chocolate chip muffins for breakfast with chocolate milk... Opened our baskets... Too much candy, lots of movies, new shirts for the boys... Showered and dressed and we were off to the zoo... We got there about 11am... Our zoo is in a park and I wanted to get there as early as possible as everyone and their Easter egg BBQ's would be there... We were lucky and found a parking spot right by the zoo... It wasn't too busy at the zoo but more people than I thought for an Easter day... We were there almost three hours, see slide show in previous entry, and when we left they already had the parking full signs up and only allowing people to walk into the park... Once home we watched Tin Man and ate ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, baked beans and green salad.... Son2 texted son1 to see if he was still coming over after work and he did about 5:30pm... Of course he brought his tax papers, so we got that done and in the mail on Monday... Son1 stayed til about 8:30pm and then he was off as he had to stop at the grocery store... We still didn't get many answers to our questions... He is still working two jobs, spending tons of time with friend A, still has both his dogs, 'working on things with girlfriend', wants to buy friend A's truck and rebuild the engine, friend A is buying a new truck, son1 wants to sell his perfectly running car, use the money to pay off friend who lent him the money to buy the car that he hasn't paid yet... He then called again on Monday to ask how to cook sausage dogs...
After son1 left we got the boys settled, put in A Haunting in Georgia, which was more of a documentary based on a true story then a scary movie, I finished watching it while hubby was sleeping... Then I finally went to sleep at 11:30pm...
Monday we didn't get to Monterey like we wanted as we were pooped from all our Easter adventures... We're pathetic... We were up early, had scrambled eggs for breakfast and proceeded to lecture to son2 for four hours to make up for all the Saturday morning family time we have been missing since hubby goes into work early now... A bit of the time was talking about how son2 changes everything we say to fit the moment and not the rules... To the point that after talking to son2 for a while we forget what we originally were talking about... Then the next three hours were spent talking son2 out of cheerleading... We went rounds and rounds of trying to compromise, show him different views, have him show us what he expected from cheerleading, which he couldn't, he wants to do it cause it looks like fun, when we ask him if he would still do it if friend girl wasn't in it, he says maybe, we latched onto that for a while, but then went rounds and rounds again trying to get him to choose other things he wants to do, like track and leadership class, finally it clicked to him that we were saying no to cheerleading and he snapped and got mad, things got ugly, we said straight out no and he slammed off to his room... Twenty minutes later he was watching a movie with son3 and laughing... I was still mad... well disappointed cause I don't want to say no to him and it seems we say no to a lot but he asks for big things... we want him to compromise and pick a few little things or a couple of medium things... to me cheerleading seems like a huge big thing that lasts for the whole year... where track for example would just be for a few months... hubby told him to continue to prepare for cheerleading and then maybe if he is still serious about it then when he is a junior or senior... son2 wants to just try out and if he doesn't make it then that will be the decision, I'm afraid he will get picked cause he is the only guy... Last night he was texting friend girl and finding out more information and asking me if he could still talk to the person in charge and get more information about criteria for a guy and we said yes but then I'm afraid in his mind we have said yes to cheerleading again... I told hubby, he said no, I said well then you better talk to him and remind him that it's still no.....
Meanwhile son3 is in vacation heaven, barely showering or getting dressed, playing games, watching movies, tells me he loves me, I remind him we need to read books, he says no, lol.... every so often he will go in the backyard to get some air....
Today I am in computer heaven with plans of catching up on blogs... In between laundry, dishes, cleaning the kitchen... Movies I have to watch: Australia, Fireproof, War of the Roses, Passion of the Christ, and shows: Castle, Reaper, Fringe, Bones is on twice this week, CSI and I'm not sure if I like the Harper's Island and a whole bunch of Emergency episodes....
The boys are done with their movie and are now fighting over who gets which computer and game... sheesh.......
