Matthew 4:1-11
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.
Jesus answered, It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. If you are the Son of God, he said, throw yourself down, for it is written: He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Jesus answered him, It is also written: Do not put the Lord our God to the test.
Again the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give you, he said, If you will bow down and worship me.
Jesus said to him, Away from me, Satan? For it is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only!
Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Today was a very fast day…
Hubby and I were up at 8am watching Joyce Meyer… into the shower and only yogurt for breakfast so we could go to the grocery store early… and it was still 11am by time we got there… noon when we got home… put away all the groceries… hubby isn’t feeling too well today with a bit of some tummy thing… so he has been resting on the couch watching TV and napping… and I have been on the laptop… and here it is 5pm already…
And of course the boys are on their games and computers…
I sorted through some paper piles… and got all the papers together to do taxes…
Set up this entry, checked email, Facebook and read blogs…
I had some lasagna for lunch and crackers for a snack…
And that’s it…
I’ve noticed that I’ve been quite happy lately…
Maybe having the new position and not being in shoes…
Maybe having a deeper faith in God…
Maybe I’m finally starting menopause and it is easier then peri-menopause…
I have not had chuck (you know chuck, he comes once a month and brings his own luggage) again since September… I read that if you go at least six months then it’s a good chance you are in menopause… I’ve been as far as five months before in the last two years and then chuck comes… so maybe this time he won’t… after 38 years of having chuck I’m ready to be done with it…
And I’ve been having actual hot flashes… breaking out in a sweat for no reason… so the ears and head burning that I have is something else and not hot flashes…
I’ve put some Gorton fish fillets in the oven… going to add some shoestring french fries, black eyed peas, zucchini, macaroni & cheese and fruit salad…
Dinner’s now ready…
What to watch after dinner…
Still need to make hubby’s honey do list…
Work tomorrow…

I was happy to be done with chuck too; chuck never helped me in any way, LOL, since I was never pregnant so chuck was a waste of time for me :) I never got the hot flashes like some women where they would drench themselves with sweat, but I would get the hot flashes where I would want to stick my head into the freezer (I did that a lot LOL :) I thought it was a year between chucks that made someone menopausal, but who knows???
hope hubby feels better soon!
betty
after major surgery in 2011, much needed and grateful for, i went into menopause. I have hot flashes all the time that wake me up out of a dead sleep....it ruins my life since i work FT at night and i can not get back to sleep and i have to work on no sleep. That is just one symptom. The only good thing so far is no more bleeding. I had hemmoraged for 15 months before i had to have two awful blood transfusions. Again, grateful but it was a long, difficult process since i was not able to miss work for any of this. I remember well how much you hate chuck. I hope it is a fast menopause for you. XO
Smiling as I read this. I never quite heard the name Chuck applied to the monthly thing. It really made me laugh. It made me think of Johnny too, who would have gotten a big kick out of it. Knowing him he'd probably have said, "so Barb, is yours named Johnny?" lol
I hope this it it for you too. What I liked most about this post, second to the Scripture part, was that you're so happy. Hope you have an awesome day. Always praying for you....always loving you too.
