I've been tagged by Martha at Menagerie to tell you six things about myself that you may not know...
1. I collect birdhouses and snowmen; read horror novels (Stephen King) and listen to Christian music...
I was born in Rhode Island, grew up in Florida and Texas and have lived in California since I was 15yrs. old...
2. I attended De Anza college for five years majoring in Business, was accepted to San Jose State but stayed at De Anza to finish my GE courses; took Geology three times and still never passed; got pregnant with son1, however did not return to college; and only needed Geology and Accounting to get my Associates of Business.... I know I should have finished but I still need to graduate high school two more times with son2 and son3...
3. I had Spanish both years of Junior High, all four years of high school and two years of college... I stopped when it got to the communication classes as I was too shy for public speaking in English, never mind Spanish too... So I can understand Spanish to a point and can read it but do not practice enough to speak it... Living in San Jose and Fresno though gives lots of chances for practicing...
4. I have worked for Sears for 28 years on November 19th... this will be my 29th Christmas with the company... I was originally hired as temporary Christmas help... Isn't Christmas over yet... I have done pretty much every job in the store except loss prevention and automotive... I was a supervisor for about fifteen of the years... My first department was children's and now I am in shoes... My favorite job was when I was in display (we don't have that job anymore), dressing the mannequins and setting up all the foo foo... I love merchandising, putting out all the new product, and maintaining a neat and empty stockroom...
5. I have been married twice... I met my ex through a friend at work while he was working at Sears through a temp. agency, he rode a motorcycle and is Italian, I was 22, he was 23... We had son1... We were young, he had trouble keeping jobs, I gave him many chances... I divorced him... He is still very active in son1's life but has never remarried or had any other children...
I met hubby also through a friend at work, however it was arranged as a blind date, I was 26, son1 was 3 and hubby was 31... Hubby was completely the opposite of the ex, overly responsible (he had already bought a family car for his future), overly cautious, so grew up the Leave it to Beaver life... Three months later he proposed in Yosemite, however 18months later we finally got married after changing our wedding date three times... Hubby is a one thing at a time kind of person, which means while he's working, that's one thing, so nothing else can be done til his day off... So just after son1's 5th bday we were married... We just celebrated our 16th anniversary...
6. I have three younger brothers and three sons... Son1 is 21, born on July 25... Son2 is 14, born on January 25... Son3 is 7, born on July 24...
OK, now I'm to tag six other people to play... I see 48 followers on my sidebar, I'm sure six of you have not been tagged yet, so it's your turn to tell us six things... We're waiting............
Happy Journaling...

I would think dressing mannequins could be fun work

(there's an entry behind the goat LOL; look for it in a few weeks :)
betty
loved learning about you
Even more interesting things about you. I had already figured out the birdhouses and snowmen collecting. Didn't realize you had worked for Sears that long. That's an astounding work history. (Hugs)Indigo
I learned lots of new stuff about you too! :-)
That is cool you learned Spanish. I always wished I had taken classes for a second language in school. Hopefully, someday you go finish that college goal. I'm down to my last two classes too. I took one or two classes per year, and its taken me since 81, but I'm almost there, LOL. Best wishes.
nice to learn more about you! i've already played. :)
That was very interesting and you have had a very interesting life. :) Missy has tagged me... but you know me.. "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?" hehe Hope you have a wonderful week with blessings. Janie
We were just talking about Sears in Estela's entry :)

Pooh Hugs,

OMGosh you know how I kept saying I wish my daughter would find a nice guy and settle down. This guy is the total opposite of Kyan's dad. So funny to hear you describe hubby now. I just hope that Kait gives this guy a chance. He has liked her for two years and was afraid to tell her. They have the same friends. Darn I guess that means I'll never be able to say anything bad about you without you knowing what I said LOL. I think it is so funny that you are surrounded by boys. I keep thinking a little girl sure would look cute in all those pictures of your family. Okay I think I'm caught up now.
Hugs, Chrissie
p.s. Kyan does own clothes it's just when he comes to my house he walks through the door and strips to his underwear. I told him I was gonna do that and he made a face. It was funny. Although, today he was wearing some red boxer briefs and they were adorable. I almost took a picture. ;-)
This was so interesting - I enjoyed getting to know more about you. WOW, 28 years...that is a long time. I have been at our company for 23 and it feels like a lifetime somedays!
She tagged me too, and I haven't done it yet. It is hard for me to come up with things.
Your list is great!
