May Day!

This month is flying... This whole year is flying faster then the past ones if that is possible... Wasn't it just Valentine's Day... Hubby hasn't even had a chance to redeem his coupons yet, lol... and Easter seems like just a couple of weeks ago... but yet we have already had Mother's Day and now are heading for Father's Day... Three weeks from tomorrow the boys will be done with school for the summer... I haven't even organized a plan for my New Year's resolutions yet...

And here it is Wednesday again... my day off... my morning of me time... of course I always have a day's worth of plans for the morning and a week's worth of plans for the day...

This past week we saw 106 degrees... Now we are back in the 90's... of course it is a cool 77-78 in the house with the air conditioner... although it is always 78 in the house and yet it could be 74 or so outside...

I finished reading my Nora Roberts book: Trilogy; Born in Fire, Born in Ice, Born in Shame... Oh! it was so good!! I did not want it to end... Actually Born in Shame did end too soon, as we did not get to go to Murphy and Shannon's Wedding... nor hear more about Shannon's paintings or what children they had... But there was Maggie, the artist who blew glass who married Rogan the gallery owner, and she was pregnant with their second child... And Shannon, the owner of a bed and breakfast with the beautiful garden who married Grayson the author of suspense books, who she had a daughter with... The stories take place in Ireland in which you feel you are there the way Nora tells a story.... I want to go... I just wish I knew how to paint or draw.... hubby is the artist in our house... but then I wish I could be as good a housekeeper or cook as Shannon was in her B&B... lol...

Son3 is back to homework after our break for their testing... this week's spelling words so far: multiply, fiction, whole, narrow, private, silly, different, vertical, always, enter... We finished the pictures from magazines project... of course I went way beyond the ten pictures she requested but then she only chose five and sent the rest home... son3 and hubby still have to make the diorama but the teacher hasn't sent home any instructions on what the report should entail... Son2 still of course continues to not have homework... but he'll have finals coming up soon...

Work has been frustrating... we've finally got to the point where we are caught up and finally getting into a routine of sorts when they introduce this new process we have to do... each Monday we have to count one department in shoes... this week was athletics... so of course on Monday the entire Nation counted causing the devices to run so slow that it took 13 seconds to scan each shoebox... it took three of us twelve hours to count the department of course leaving no time to work the report... we were finally able to access the report yesterday but with days off we won't see the report til tomorrow... of course any updates to the report had to be done on Monday at the end of counting... hopefully next week this goes better.... hmmmmm... otherwise my 9-5 days are seeming way too long... I so have spring fever and just want to be home playing... three weeks til vacation....

I have not been organized with chores and dinners this past week.... we've picked up chinese and pizza a couple of days... last night was leftover chinese and if you were tired of that then cereal... We're almost finished with all the season finales... We watched all the Harry Potters, so are ready for when the new movie comes out in July... And we started watching Season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer... son3 is really liking it... he likes scary movies that he is able to watch cause they are not too scary, plus he likes all the fighting action scenes...

The laundry and dishes await me... I do think I am all caught up on the computer today so I just may get to read some blogs... :) and homework with son3... and make a decent meal for dinner tonight... and I still haven't made that chocolate cake....

Happy Journaling...

J-Land Encounter...

Do you see who is in my kitchen.... That is our very own Linda in Wa.... She is just the greatest and what a treat it was to meet her in person... For a bit though we weren't sure if it was meant to be... between my work schedule and them having a bit of tire trouble on their vacationing... we finally got together about 9pm in the nighttime... I'm sorry you weren't able to see the roses in the dark.... but we had a lovely talk... and son2 and son3 were there too... and Holly was lurking about... The men were taking the pictures so these were the only two hubby took... if you can Linda, send more please... Now one of these days if hubby can ever get a whole vacation week, we will have to head towards Washington...

Don't tell Linda but I was so nervous, lol... but I had no reason to be, it was like we knew each other for years....

Finally Saturday.... but the day is flying as usual... I've been up for four hours now and I am still on the computer and I have not read one blog... I have totally lost time for reading blogs and I don't like it... Partly it's from being on Facebook but that is just a click and a scroll to see what everyone is up to... I've only been playing My Farm and Farm Town and barely click on Yoville any more as it freezes up my computer... Working til 5pm doesn't leave much time in the evening between dinner, tv and getting everyone to bed for work and school again... But I'm working on a solution to have more reading time.... I also ordered a couple of shirts for work online this morning and checked on which shows are left for next week before the shows are done for the season... I had some Capn Crunch for breakfast and washed a couple of loads of laundry... but that is it... the boys have rolled from Saturday morning cartoons to video games... and hubby is off at work...
I have been working away at work all week too.... barely any boxes to open lately, usually only Thursday and Sunday... so I've been stocking and resetting the men's and athletic shoes and signing and making sure all displays are out...

Today I have to finish laundry and watch Ghost Whisperer while I put it all away... and find ten pictures with son3 of things he likes and doesn't like for his class project... should get outside and see the sun for a bit but I think it is going to be 90 something today... 100 and something tomorrow... clean up the kitchen and dishes... make a chocolate cake... leftover chinese food for dinner... watch Bones, CSI and CSI NY... Then back at work at 6am tomorrow to set the ad.... All shoes on sale, that's gonna take a while to set...
The boys are surrounding me... all of a sudden they don't know what they want to do with themselves... son3 wants son2 to watch his three hour dinosaur with him that he promised all week... Holly is circling me and meowing... son3 has gone back to his games... son2 is still sitting here not telling me what is on his mind... I could make him a list... He and hubby want us to go see Star Trek tomorrow... we'll see if they are ready when I get home from work...
Off to look through magazines for pictures for son3... is it cheating if I just print them off the computer...

Mother's Day...

On Saturday son1 came over after work to borrow a bit of money... So he wanted to do some chores to say Thank You... I had quite a few ideas in mind but none that could be done so late in the day so I told him to do son2's list of chores... So he mowed and edged the front and back yard... He cleaned up all the weeds on the side yard by the garage where we keep the garbage totes... He re-emptied all the garbage and recyclables, son2 had done them earlier in the day and he took in all the cans and bottles to be recycled... He even stayed for dinner and we watched Knights Tale with Heath Ledger...

Son2 was laughing at his cowboy hat so me and son2 were spying on him out the front window and taking his picture... here is where I think he spotted us, lol... He came in and asked if we were taking his picture... no, we were taking a picture of Jose our gardener, lol...

Son3 went out and rode his bike for I think only the second time in his life while son1 was edging the yard...
Son2 not to be outdone mowed the backyard...
Then son1 came over again on Mother's Day, I got home from work at 2:30pm... He brought his new dog Abey... It was only her second time being out since getting all her shots... Also her first time being left at a strange place... when son1 went with hubby and son2 to get Carl's Jr she cried the whole time they were gone...
I gave her some doggie treats and she was ok for a minute....
Holly laying on the floor below Abey contemplating the dog's future...
I had a nice Mother's Day weekend... Son1 brought over Grumpier Old Men and we watched it with our Carl's Jr... All my special treats I got... Turtle stepping stone, mushroom plant stakes, cat windchime and season 1 and 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
Today was Teacher Appreciation Day... the school supplies the teachers all with vases and the students bring in flowers to fill them... When I picked up son3 today, his teacher was whispering to him to tell me Thank You and as we were walking to the car son1 said the teacher liked his best cause it had seven flowers in one...
This morning I made reservations to go to Monterey next month, this time with our room facing the ocean and beach... Can't wait... Last day of school is June 11th... still have to work on son3's projects... then June 12th is my bday... and June 15th it's off to the beach....
Now I'm off to watch Ghost Whisperer and make a chocolate cake...

Wolverine...

On Sunday I got off work early at 12:45pm and we went to see Wolverine! It was so good! We now know the story of how Wolverine came to be... Wolverine/Hugh Jackman bigger than life on the big screen the whole time... Liev Shrieber did a very good job as Sabretooth, I wasn't thinking he was a good choice before I saw the movie... I was looking forward to seeing Gambit, my second favorite XMen after Wolverine... I did not recognize the actor but he did a good job... I hope if they continue onto other XMen movies they will bring him back as Gambit... And Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, perfect choice as Deadpool never stops talking... and if you do happen to watch the movie, watch all the way to the end after the credits as there is an extra scene... And don't let the idea of the movie being based on a cartoon detour you from watching as they are all very nice to look at.... The boys think I am there just so they can see their movie, lol....

After the movie we stopped at the grocery store for a few things and got deli chicken family pack... Came home and watched Harry Potter 3, The Goblet of Fire... Got the boys in bed and hubby and I watched CSI NY... So I was movied out by then... Only a week or two more and all the shows are having their season finales... I'm glad as recording and watching all the shows and keeping up with Netflix movies is becoming a chore instead of enjoyment... I know by the middle of summer though I will be missing them again... My favorites: Castle, Reaper, Fringe, Criminal Minds, CSI NY, Smallville, Supernatural, Bones, CSI, Ghost Whisperer, Dollhouse, Terminator, Numbers and Harper's Island...
This has been another week of whirlwind work and school... However son3 is having STAR state testing so does not have homework for a couple of weeks... He does have a couple of projects coming though for the end of the year so today we have to go through magazines and such to look for pictures of five of his favorite things and five of his least favorite things... And then make a diorama of the rainforest that he has been bugging us and his teacher about that he wants to do now but she hasn't sent home all the instructions yet... So I told him we have the shoe box already and this weekend we will start getting together the things to put in the box... He also has to write a report on that one...

Son2 got his progress report yesterday and then a lecture... It's not that we expect straight A's and we accept C's if you tried as hard as you could... But son2 has been failing to do homework and just figures he'll make it (homework and the grade) up before the final report comes out... So I don't want to hear "I don't have homework", "it'll only take ten minutes", "it's not due yet", "it's only extra credit, I don't have to do it".... Construction, B+; Algebra, D; English, A+; Science, C; Computers 1, A; World Geography, A; Freshman Requirements (Health), C-; PE, A... He says in Health they don't do anything so there is no way to bring up his grade with homework and such... ?... and Algebra he says the whole school is getting a D... Really.... oh plus there are a few homework assignments he still needs to turn in and that will bring up his grade... unacceptable... and it's hard... ok that one is understandable... but ask for help...

Does this look familiar to anyone... I thought digital TV was the way of the future... then why is it when I put aluminum foil on my antenna like we did back in the 70's, that I get better reception... I had to move a chair out of the family room so no one would sit in it, cause every time they did they would mess up the picture reception... I so hope when it is all finally official that we get better reception and all the channels everyday, not just once in a while... and yes we bought the new digital antennas, but they got worse reception so we took them back.... but isn't it nice that the TV digital advertisement is counting down to my Birthday.... lol....
I'm off to tackle some things on my list... and have some quiet time before the boys are home from school...

Another Week Gone By...

Do you know it is May already... Where is this year going... Six weeks from today the boys will be on summer vacation... and I will be on vacation... It will be here before we know it... I don't mind the working 9-5pm but it sure makes for not much time to get things done outside of work... however hubby has been lacking on his end with working 7-3pm... sure he gets homework done, but that is it... this past week I had to stay til 5:30, that I don't like, and dinner has not been ready, lol... nor any chores by him or son2... I have been getting dishes and laundry done in the morning before I leave... we are still working on a new routine... plus even though we spend a lot of time watching tv and clicking through facebook... we haven't had any actual down time... It's go go go, with work, school, keeping up with shows and computer addictions... and we don't have a day where we are all off on the same day, so one of us is always in work mode...

I have been going all week at work... keeping up on all the boxes coming in and stocking the floor... supervisor was gone all week at another store... she came back on Friday and I crashed, spent the day getting nothing done but talking... I was due... we had a new associate start, work two days, have two days off and not come back... sheesh... heard several reasons, not sure which one was true from; too hard of work, not enough money, family emergency, got another job... however she didn't quit, just never came back...

Been doing a lot of day dreaming this past week... was my sentimental week of the month... week before was my grumpy week... now I'm climbing back up to my one some what happy week... lol... a lot of plans in my head for self improvement, just need to implement them, but it's so hard to step out of routine, especially when it's go go go all the time, to switch gears on a new routine... some I feel I have my head wrapped around though toward maybe implementing... reaching a new time in my life... I'll be 45 in six weeks... time to shake things up, nothing big, just lots of little... I told son2 that I wanted the lesson of him not doing cheerleading to be us all getting our buttes back in gear... we've become hermits as of late with all the working and school... I had said no vacation this year with keeping an eye on the economy but now I'm thinking maybe a weekend in June back to Monterey to the hotel on the beach... and maybe a weekend in July to Legoland for son3's bday... buy those are easy goals, it's the every day changes that pass my by while I sit on the computer and time flies... need enough day to work, have computer time, clean, organize, relax, hobbies, family, me... I think part of it is I see it all done in my head but can't seem to get it done for real, lol... but then when I do start something, it only stays done til the next day and then I start all over again, never getting to not everything on my list but everything that should get done in a day...

Today was the cheerleader try outs... son2's 'girl' friend made the team and she said another guy also... actually it is competition cheer and she also said 23 people made the team... of course we were not there, since we decided we are not a cheerleading family... Son2 seems to be taking it ok now... he was researching keyboards earlier and wants to change his elective for next year to piano... he and son3 just finished watching Ghostbusters... now they have started Ghostbusters 2... they are still in pjs and hubby will be home any minute... I was up early with hubby, spent a while on facebook, checked my email, showered, fed son3, trimmed the roses, took some pictures of the roses, ate lunch while I read some of my Nora Roberts book: Born in Fire, watched Ghost Whisperer from last night, made all the bday and holidays cards for May, just remembered I started a load of laundry that has been done for a while, posted pictures of roses on Facebook and http://notjustroses.blogspot.com/ and here I am doing an entry... Going to make scrambled eggs and sausage dogs for dinner and we have The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keneau Reeves to watch... Harper's Island comes on tonight instead of last Thursday and then I will be asleep.... Tomorrow I only work 6am-12:45 cause when I get home we are going to see Wolverine... I can't wait!!

A whole week already...

Last Sunday was back to work and now here we are a whole week later... Sunday I went to work, 6am-2pm... It was an easy ad set, stocked the sale tables, went to lunch and opened boxes... Came home, don't remember what we had for dinner, hmmmm, we watched the second Harry Potter... We are watching them again getting ready for the new movie coming out this year... and then it was get the boys to bed as they were back to school on Monday...

Monday was hubby's day off... we were all up early... son2 called us from the bus stop that son1 had text him asking to do laundry after work... hubby said yes... I said what time is after work... I got son3 off to school and went off to work myself, 9:30-4:30... I just opened boxes all day getting caught up from when I was on vacation... I got home at 5, hubby and son3 were still doing homework... Monday's spelling words: stood, nervous, dangerous, simple, laughing... Hubby had put a lasagna in the oven... I told son2 to text son1 that the lasagna would be done at 6pm and what time was after work... son1 text back that he was getting off in fifteen minutes and would be over by 6pm... We ate at 6:30pm, son1 arrived at 7pm... he was having a bad day... woke in the morning at 6am to his car alarm going off, his car was being towed, since it was too close to a fire hydrant but everyone parks there... so pay the tow driver and get his car off the truck... After leaving work he got a fix it ticket since the officer felt his muffler was too load, yes he has it modified to his liking, however he said he had been stopped before and that officer had checked everything and found it to be legal, so don't know why this officer disagreed... he then went home to take a shower and get his laundry and then to our house... also found out he quit his job on Friday with no notice to employer and took a full time job with his part time job with more pay... so he was coming from his new job in the next city over... asked how and he and girlfriend were doing... mumbled answer... he only had three loads of laundry to do but the dryer was still running at midnight... son3 had been asleep for hours, son2 refused to go to bed til his brother left, hubby was falling asleep on the couch, son1 was asleep on the couch... I finally sent hubby and son2 to bed and told son1 just to spend the night... he had to let girlfriend know... and then I went to bed....

Tuesday morning I'm up with hubby, get him and son2 off to work and school, get me ready for work, get son3 up, fed and dressed for school and then finally get son1 up twenty minutes before we have to leave... he has breakfast, finishes his laundry from the dryer and we are all out the door at 8:20am... He gets a call from one of his new co workers that they need a ride, they live all the way in the foothills... He had to be at work at 10am... Hope he made it on time... I work from 9:30am-4:30pm... Finish opening all the boxes and stock women's athletics... I get home at 5pm, hubby is still doing homework... spelling words: wrote, delightful, answer, traveled, interesting... We have left over lasagna for dinner and watch Castle, Reaper and Fringe... and go to bed early...

Wednesday is my day off... Get everyone off to work and school and spend the morning on the computer... It was about 96 degrees that day... I did not even wanna cook dinner so I sent hubby to Taco Bell when he got home... It was my day to do homework and we were done before hubby got home... Spelling words: Dodgers, Broncos, Forty Niners, Falcons, C.S.U. Fresno Bulldogs, White Sox... We had to make sentences with these words... they are not even allowed to wear team shirts to school... What the heck kind of spelling words are these... We watched The Secret of the Magic Gourd... had a good lesson in the movie but was a Japanese movie adapted by Disney with dubbed English... Boys to bed and hubby and I watched Criminal Minds...

Thursday got hubby and son2 off to work and school, got me ready for work and son3 off to school... I worked 9am-5pm... I scanned the reports for mens and athletic shoes, stocked the shoe accessories, opened all the boxes that came in on Wednesday, went to lunch and rearranged the stockroom... Got home at 5:45pm, homework was done and son2 was sulking in a chair from he and hubby having a heated discussion about cheerleading... Thursday was the information meeting to get the DVD of the routine for tryouts... Hubby did not take him... Son2 is not accepting our no cheerleading and desperately trying to persuade us to yes but not listening to our reasoning nor showing us the requirements that we requested of him to show that he really wants to do cheerleading, not just 'wanting' and 'it would be fun'... I thought he had calmed down so I asked a question that got he and I in a heated discussion, then we had Easter egg salad sandwiches, soup and cheese pizza for dinner and watched Smallville and Supernatural...

Friday off to work and school... Do you see a pattern here... I worked 9am-5pm... I stocked and stocked all day long between men's boots and athletics and then toward the end of the day organized the stockroom a bit more... no new boxes had come to open yet... we are caught up... Got home at 5:30pm, egg salad sandwiches again... and we watched Bones, CSI, Harper's Island... recorded Ghost Whisperer, Dollhouse and Numbers... and went to bed early...

Today is Saturday... Hubby went in late today... So we got to sleep in til 8am.... I made scrambled eggs, kielbasa and muffins... Then we made the mistake of bringing up cheerleading again and then that went back and forth between upset and discussion for three hours til hubby had to go to work... But I think we may have made some breakthroughs with son2... some actual understanding on his part... of why we are saying no, there are a ton of reasons... but that he wants us to understand that he is not going to let it go... fine, but we need to see the desire and not just the want... So got hubby off to work at noon, son3 on his games and me in the shower... son2 had three invitations from three friends today and was getting the details so he could make a plan... He decided not to go to a bday party, we said it was not in his best interest to be the third wheel and go out with his two friends that are dating, so he opted for the first invite and is spending the night at his friend A's... of course that was not til 4pm... So I did a couple of quick chores and started watching The Secret Life of Bees with son2 while he is waiting for it to be time to take him... It is now 6:15pm, hubby will be home soon and I have gotten nothing done today... and I work about 40hrs next week... I just can't seem to balance my time between work, home, boys, computer, TV and me... Is that too much, lol... of course if I gave up computer, TV and eating... the house would be immaculate and I would be skinny... no....

Friday on Vacation already...

Yesterday got away from me and all my bragging of being ahead of the day and the computer working were for naught... It was 1pm by time I got done with everything on the computer with all the loading and cranking it is doing while loading each thing... Hubby says I need more memory but I also think that the computer does a lot of stuff without my permission and I haven't completely figured out how to tell it to quit it...

But I am all caught up with reading about everyone and I feel good about that... I ignored the dishes yesterday and we had leftovers for dinner... I did finish paying all the bills and the checkbook is balanced once again... and son2 and I watched a couple of Emergency episodes...

Son2 is thinking he now wants to be a firefighter when he grows up... He was researching it online for a while yesterday... The city college in Fresno even offers a program for EMT/Paramedic... but he is thinking of just fireman... Did you know firemen only work 8 days a month, a 24 hour day with two days off in between... they make between $55000-$70000 a year and most have a second job since they have all those days off in between... Hubby says can we just get through high school... lol...

I did get a bit grumpy yesterday thinking of only two days til back to work... ssshhhhh... I'm not grumpy cause I did nothing on vacation, so that's a good thing... I did eat too much on vacation so now I'm thinking it's a good thing to go to work and not be near the food... I put the Easter candy away yesterday as son2 and I have each finished off a bag of jelly beans... So my chocolate Easter bunnies are safely hidden away in my room for an emergency... and the rest is in the pantry for the boys to forget about along with all the candy from holidays past... and that is why at Halloween and you get Easter and Christmas candy, it is called Trick or Treat...

We keep hearing thumps in the house of things falling... twice we did discover that it was something in son2's room that had fallen... but on Wednesday we heard a thud and couldn't figure out where it came from... I noticed in the yard a whole bunch of feathers and thought oh no, Holly got a bird, but we couldn't find a body... but then we realized a bird had hit the window and that was the thud and he ricocheted into the rosebush losing a bunch of feathers and hopefully flying off with just a headache.... But then yesterday Holly really did get a bird... Took out a bird feeder and a large branch off a rosebush in her accomplishment... Poor little birdie... I see his friends out there now, and Holly is out there some where too being all proud of herself...

Well I am off to get dressed and showered at only 10:20 in the morning and watch Fireproof since no one has wanted to watch any of my movies with me this week... I put in Life of Brian for hubby last night when he grumbled about watching Fireproof, so I went back on the computer... I also want to watch Twilight today and then all the other movies I had planned on watching will just have to wait til other days off... We did watch Bones and CSI last night and I watched Harper's Island while hubby was snoring...

The boys are off on their games... I told son3 he has to read his two library books today and tomorrow... such torture...

Thursday on Vacation...

I'm so clever... Maybe... Yesterday I spent most of the morning at war with the computer... I have always had AOL and paid for it until the last six months or so it is now free... Everything is in my AOL screen name... However a couple of years ago when we got DSL it came through SBC although the ad was through AOL... I have tried using SBC mail, but I like AOL best... Since now getting AOL for free or maybe just a coincidence and my computer is getting old, everything keeps freezing up when I am on AOL, so I tried going online through SBC, same thing, web sites constantly freezing up the whole computer... A while back I even updated Internet Explorer to have the AOL toolbar but I couldn't do a blog entry on internet explorer so kept going back to AOL... Well anyway.... yesterday I was reading blogs on AOL and when I would close out of the blog I was reading the computer would default to internet explorer, yes I have internet explorer as my default as it is labeled Blank, but this has never happened before, and then the whole computer would freeze up with internet explorer trying to open the blog and a hundred blank tabs... So finally I said fine I will try using internet explorer again... So far I love it! I don't have to wait for AOL to load... my AOL mail is on the toolbar to check, along with Facebook, Blogger and a few of my other favorite websites... and I figured out how to close tabs without accidentally closing internet explorer every time I closed something... and the best part I figured how to do a blog entry with pictures.... just turn off the pop up blocker and ta da, allows me to do an entry with pictures.... I'm happy... :)

It has been so windy here the last couple of days... and I'm freezing... I had the heater on yesterday and I just turned it on now... Yesterday was only 60 degrees here in Fresno and today will get to 68, Friday 78 and Saturday 86, finally... but are you ready for summer cause Sunday and Monday it will be 93 degrees... That's the Spring weather we are used to in Fresno, lol...

It is 9:30am, I've been up since 6:30am when hubby left for work... The boys are still sleeping in the family room, they camped out there last night watching Transformers... I'm munching on shredded wheat wondering if I'll get anything done today on vacation... So far this has been a very lazy vacation...

Yesterday in between fighting with the computer and refereeing the boys who are just about done with vacation and ready to go back to school... I cut up the bit of ham that was left and threw that along with the bone in a pot of pinto beans and let it simmer all day... We had it over rice with catsup and garlic salt, mmmmmm.... Hubby went to the store for milk and brought home a roasted chicken that we also munched on with a cheese pizza for son3 and some chicken strips... We watched The Tale of Despereaux... It was very cute! Son2 and I also during the day watched about four episodes of Emergency... I shredded some old files from the file cabinet and filed a pile that was building... did a bit of laundry and a bit of dishes... We watched Bones, it is on twice this week and hubby and I watched Criminal Minds and taped CSI NY... I also got caught up on reading journals... Other than that is was a pretty fast day...

The boys are starting to get movied and video gamed out on vacation... I can't get either of them to read any books... nor any interest in the paint sets they got for Christmas... They haven't gone any where as they have barely gotten showered or dressed, lol... Oh well we will be hopping once again next week once we are back to school and work... I was hoping to at least get the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned beyond the usual basics of upkeep but not there yet... and the checkbook balanced... and work in the yard a bit... and watch some of my movies... and write out an outline of all the things I would like to accomplish the rest of the year... for example I wanted to clean out one drawer a week since January... Here we are on week fifteen of the year and I've done two drawers... my sock drawer and son3's sock drawer... Well, still three days of vacation left... miracles happen... I'm off to check on journals... one more click on facebook and then showered and dressed and I'm ahead of the day....

Happy Journaling...

Tuesday on Vacation...

My fourth day of vacation... Hubby is off to work and I have been on the computer all morning... But I've done some dishes, laundry, fed the boys, fed me, showered and dressed... The boys are on their eleventh day of vacation... They've video/computer games a bit but mostly they have been watching movies... They are watching Meet the Robinsons right now...

We had a good Easter on Sunday... We were up early, had blueberry/chocolate chip muffins for breakfast with chocolate milk... Opened our baskets... Too much candy, lots of movies, new shirts for the boys... Showered and dressed and we were off to the zoo... We got there about 11am... Our zoo is in a park and I wanted to get there as early as possible as everyone and their Easter egg BBQ's would be there... We were lucky and found a parking spot right by the zoo... It wasn't too busy at the zoo but more people than I thought for an Easter day... We were there almost three hours, see slide show in previous entry, and when we left they already had the parking full signs up and only allowing people to walk into the park... Once home we watched Tin Man and ate ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, baked beans and green salad.... Son2 texted son1 to see if he was still coming over after work and he did about 5:30pm... Of course he brought his tax papers, so we got that done and in the mail on Monday... Son1 stayed til about 8:30pm and then he was off as he had to stop at the grocery store... We still didn't get many answers to our questions... He is still working two jobs, spending tons of time with friend A, still has both his dogs, 'working on things with girlfriend', wants to buy friend A's truck and rebuild the engine, friend A is buying a new truck, son1 wants to sell his perfectly running car, use the money to pay off friend who lent him the money to buy the car that he hasn't paid yet... He then called again on Monday to ask how to cook sausage dogs...
After son1 left we got the boys settled, put in A Haunting in Georgia, which was more of a documentary based on a true story then a scary movie, I finished watching it while hubby was sleeping... Then I finally went to sleep at 11:30pm...
Monday we didn't get to Monterey like we wanted as we were pooped from all our Easter adventures... We're pathetic... We were up early, had scrambled eggs for breakfast and proceeded to lecture to son2 for four hours to make up for all the Saturday morning family time we have been missing since hubby goes into work early now... A bit of the time was talking about how son2 changes everything we say to fit the moment and not the rules... To the point that after talking to son2 for a while we forget what we originally were talking about... Then the next three hours were spent talking son2 out of cheerleading... We went rounds and rounds of trying to compromise, show him different views, have him show us what he expected from cheerleading, which he couldn't, he wants to do it cause it looks like fun, when we ask him if he would still do it if friend girl wasn't in it, he says maybe, we latched onto that for a while, but then went rounds and rounds again trying to get him to choose other things he wants to do, like track and leadership class, finally it clicked to him that we were saying no to cheerleading and he snapped and got mad, things got ugly, we said straight out no and he slammed off to his room... Twenty minutes later he was watching a movie with son3 and laughing... I was still mad... well disappointed cause I don't want to say no to him and it seems we say no to a lot but he asks for big things... we want him to compromise and pick a few little things or a couple of medium things... to me cheerleading seems like a huge big thing that lasts for the whole year... where track for example would just be for a few months... hubby told him to continue to prepare for cheerleading and then maybe if he is still serious about it then when he is a junior or senior... son2 wants to just try out and if he doesn't make it then that will be the decision, I'm afraid he will get picked cause he is the only guy... Last night he was texting friend girl and finding out more information and asking me if he could still talk to the person in charge and get more information about criteria for a guy and we said yes but then I'm afraid in his mind we have said yes to cheerleading again... I told hubby, he said no, I said well then you better talk to him and remind him that it's still no.....

Meanwhile son3 is in vacation heaven, barely showering or getting dressed, playing games, watching movies, tells me he loves me, I remind him we need to read books, he says no, lol.... every so often he will go in the backyard to get some air....

Today I am in computer heaven with plans of catching up on blogs... In between laundry, dishes, cleaning the kitchen... Movies I have to watch: Australia, Fireproof, War of the Roses, Passion of the Christ, and shows: Castle, Reaper, Fringe, Bones is on twice this week, CSI and I'm not sure if I like the Harper's Island and a whole bunch of Emergency episodes....

The boys are done with their movie and are now fighting over who gets which computer and game... sheesh.......
