John 19:17-30
Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull. Here they crucified him, and with him two others – one on each side and Jesus in the middle.
Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: Jesus of Nazareth, The King of the Jews. Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. The chief priest of the Jews protested to Pilate, Do not write The King of the Jews, but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.
Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece form top to bottom.
Let’s not tear it, they said to one another. Let’s decide by lot who will get it.
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, They divided my garments among them and cast lot for my clothing.
So this is what the soldiers did, Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother. From that time on, this disciple took her into this home.
Good Friday to everyone…
This concludes the Lent Bible readings…
I slept til 8:30 this morning… Watched a Joyce Meyer…
Put the ham in the oven and a load of laundry in the washer…
Hubby is making pancakes and talking to the boys about the meaning of Good Friday and Easter… More of a quiz…
They are playing their games and watching their cartoons…
I also paid the house payment and checked email…
Hubby received his last unemployment check again…
Now will they extend it again and/or will hubby get a job…
Or will we learn more life lessons…
God has a plan…
I am still working on the pictures from the zoo…
Tomorrow I need to post flower pictures to my photo blog Not Just Roses…
Hubby needs to boil eggs today so the boys can color eggs tomorrow…
And the Easter baskets are still waiting to be assembled… Why is it Easter and Christmas we are always up til midnight the night before getting ready when we have everything for weeks, months even, that we need…
Time to have breakfast and almost time to start getting ready for work already…
Looking forward to a day off tomorrow of lounging all day eating ham and enjoying the festivities of Easter with the boys…

Be determined to know God—not to just know about Him. (Phil 3:10)
Don't give up! God has not given up on you.
Today is “Good” because so many years ago, the result of that day—Christ's resurrection on Sunday—was good!
We are in for a sad life if we let other people determine our level of joy.
