It was a very fast week…
I was thinking today was Friday…
It’s Saturday…
I got to work early today instead of closing as another associate needed to trade shifts…
I made a quick dinner of soups and leftovers…
We’re watching Impractical Jokers, Raising Hope, Arrow and Supernatural…
Son1’s last day at his job was yesterday… Monday he starts his new job… He’s excited…
Son2 got all his homework done… has just a bit of something due Tuesday… He’s been reading his graphic novels that he’s been collecting the last few months… He got a certificate from school for the Dean’s list… a 3.0 GPA…
Son3 had a good week of doing homework… He’s still reading his book consistently… His class went to the high school yesterday to perform Binky Barns by Marc Brown for the Peach Blossom… he now has a three day weekend…
I finished making hubby’s Valentine present… and almost done making his card… told him to decide if he wants to go to the zoo on Tuesday or work in the yard… we are celebrating Valentine’s on Tuesday since I am off that day and the boys are in school… so we get the day to ourselves…
I’m going to bake son3 pumpkin bread… and then I want to bake spice cookies and peanut butter cookies but try to make them heart shaped…
Son3’s having a Valentine party at school on Thursday and wants to bring his usual frosting cookies from the grocery store bakery that he brings to every party… he’s not bringing cards to exchange… I’m thinking this will be our last school party unless they do something at year end as this will be our last year with one of the boys in elementary school…
I bought the boys heart shaped frosted brownies for their school lunches next week…
Work is still coming along… I was a bit whiny and grumpy this week… my cold is just about gone so I’m feeling better and adjusting my attitude… I just can’t seem to get into a routine, my time is not my own and there will never be enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to be done… Guess that means I know my job now… my replacement is coming along too… however she is not quite yet stepping up to her manager duties for the store… and she is my closing buddy… she doesn’t have her keys yet so I loaned her mine last night… long story short I had my locker key on me and not my key chain since she had them and when putting my lunch away in my locker I set the key down too and locked the key in my locker… so hubby had to drive out at 8pm and bring the spare key as not only was my lunch in my locker but my car keys too…
And of course everyone is in a tizzy as we meet our new district manager next Friday so need to have the store looking its best…
Time to get ready for bed… back to work again tomorrow…
And I still have lots to do at home too… need to make hubby a honey do list…
Hubby made a cheesecake today with blackberries… I don’t like cheesecake but I had a bit and it was OK… I had peach pie with vanilla ice cream instead… mmmmmm…
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
working together is good.
We are meant to support one another in this world. Let go of the feeling that you have to do everything alone. Ask someone if they want to join you.
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
until you learn how to say 'no', you will never be able to fully say 'yes'.
Unless you know how to set boundaries to form your safe space, you will always be concerned that saying 'yes' might put you in danger. So you will always pull back a little from saying 'yes' with your whole heart. Paradoxically, knowing how to say 'no' to form boundaries gives much more power to your 'yes'.
Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...
we all need the validation of love to feel safe, secure, and at home in this world.
Don't withhold your love and appreciation. Love abundantly.

You may think that you don't have enough time, but you are always getting a lot done. I think you make the time for what is important like your job and your family and that is what it's all about. Having the time to do what is important. Congrats to son2 on the good grades. It seems both those boys are doing well with school. You've reached a miles stone when you think about this being the last Valentine school party. Glad you are feeling better. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
Glad you are feeling better from your cold; sorry about the whiny I think we all have times like that, but glad also you are settling into the new job! Congrats to Son2 for the GPA he has! Yep, you are right, the days of school parties will be winding up indeed, especially as son3 goes into middle school. Good luck to son1 on his new job!
