I took a personal holiday today so we have all been home all day... We were going to take a drive to the snow but with all the rain that wasn't possible so we have been nice and cozy in the house... We slept in til nine, hubby made cranberry orange pancakes, blueberry muffins and fried eggs with hot chocolate... He has been playing computer games with the boys all day, but he did clean the microwave and checked on the yard in a few places where it is flooding... I did all the dishes, cleaned the counters, washed the kitchen floor, washed the bedding on mine and son3's bed and made brownies... For dinner we are having leftover bbq sandwiches, chicken strips, cole slaw, scalloped potatoes and green salad... And watching disc three of John Adams... quite appropriate for President's Day....
Yesterday I got to work at 6am to set the ad and found I got off work at noon... Yay! However I came home and spent too much time on the computer... The power went off two times yesterday too... When I first got home it was off for 45 minutes and then again later for about fifteen minutes... I did make a lot of yummy things for dinner, see leftovers above but I also ate too much chips and dips and too much soda... arggggggg..... I want to get back where I was before the holidays hit, when I was doing all the crunches and not drinking soda... I have a plan when hubby starts his new hours... So one more week... Meanwhile I am getting back into the frame of mind... of course part of the problem is I can't think about eating better cause then I eat... Have to be distracted and not be aware of my plan... That is why I like my new schedule, I won't be home from two to five snacking.... We also watched The Untouchables with Kevin Costner and Sean Connery, pretty good...
Valentine night hubby got home from work about 8pm and son2 and I had just put in When Harry Met Sally... hubby went off to change his clothes and get a snack, watch the news what have you and came back in the room just as the movie was ending, lol... So son2 and I spent time together eating conversation hearts and watching a romantic comedy... He loved the movie though laughing through the whole thing...
Hubby is putting in John Adams and I am off to heat up dinner... the boys need showers as it's back to school and work again tomorrow... Hubby got released from jury duty on the first call so that is a big relief off his mind.... And I just remembered I promised myself I would sort through some paper piles while I was watching the movie....
Happy Journaling...

I'm coming to your house for breakfast..lol. Cranberry orange pancakes sound really good..And I'm not even hungry..lol
I've been doing a horrible job of not staying away from the soda lately. Although, I did have my grandson re-inflate my exercise ball. Haven't used it yet, but it's re-inflated..lol
Hugs, Sheri
I went through a nice period of time where I wasn't drinking soda at all and then I had one can and got all hooked again. Right now I actually have a glass of water in front of me that I have been drinking. I'm working on cutting back not completely cutting it out as I did before.
Have a good evening.
Monica
sounds like a tasty meal for you all..glad you enjoyed your day off...and both movies. We have been watching lots of free DVD's from the library. They have decent movies but never the new ones. XO
Sounds like a great vacation day. Family time is always good whether you go away or not. I'm glad you are getting the rain though. Seems like this is more than usual for you. 'On Ya'-ma

your hubby made a delicious breakfast! yum!!!
I got jury duty too coming up; I'm actually looking forward to it, LOL (its the first time I've been able to serve without wanting to get excused because of young kids, etc)

I watched all of John Adams, but missed the last episode as I was away. It was a great series! I really enjoyed what I saw of it.
Sounds like a great vacation day! Sometimes days like that are the absolute best! Goodness I'm coming over to eat with yall soon. Mmmmmm
Sounds like a nice time was had by all. Too bad we can't have a 3 day weekend every weekend! Take care and enjoy the rest of your week,
Katie
You always have a million things going on even on lazy days.
Glad to hear everyone is okay.
I wanna come eat sometime. Sounds great. Yours and hubbys meals.
I'm doing bad on the soda too after giving it up. Then the kids starting take me out to eat everytime you turn around and it happened I fell back into old ways. When I go to the store I'm getting bottled water this time and I think it will be easier for me to grab that instead of a soda.
Take care, Chrissie
