Whatever makes your heart sing is what God wants for you! Of course it's okay to be happy! Of course it's okay to fulfill your heart's deepest desires! What your soul most dearly and deeply desires is the very thing God wants for you.

it is very difficult to take care of others unless you have first taken care of yourself.

What do you need to do for yourself so that you can be available for others? What needs are going unmet? How can you be kind to yourself?

your remedy for anxiety is the question: 'Will this matter in a year from now?'

All too often you get so involved in things that you look at life through a microscope. Amplifying manifold, an invisible speck becomes an insurmountable mountain. Put down the microscope and imagine yourself a year from now looking back at today: 'Does this really matter?'

you've been missing out on delight that God has sent your way.

Think back over the last day, - what could you have taken with delight that you just skipped over?

So much time has been spent trying to make yourself lovable. Trying to make yourself more attractive, more interesting. But love has already found you, perfect and pure love. Rest assured that God loves you just the way you are.

Even a simple gesture, - a smile, a touch, a kind word, can brighten someone’s day. Let your love flow freely today.

you have immeasurable potential.

Just as a tiny seed can become a giant redwood tree, you have only scratched the surface of your potential. You have the creator of the universe on your team and you've been given the ball, so run with it. Run knowing that you have immeasurable potential.

A miracle is a miracle. Don't forget to notice them! As you begin to notice miracles, you will find that they are all around. Love and blessings abound!

August Fourteenth

 

I am on vacation…

Came home from work on Monday with a Veteran's notice on the door that they would be picking up in our neighborhood… I hadn’t used them before so since I had a whole bunch of donations piling up in the hallway, I thought I would bag up all the clothes for them…

Four bags of clothes… put the bags out Tuesday morning, they said on the flyer that they would pick up between 8 and 4, which they did… I didn’t have to do anything, just put out the bags…

Hubby has been working in the art room all week too… hanging shelves and he put son3’s old desk in the art room to get some things off the floor… can you see it in the above picture…

Son2 started his second year of college yesterday…

He is getting a degree in Life Science and then going into the EMT program…

Son1 started his apprenticeship last night through his new job… he’ll be studying refrigeration… 

Son3 started middle school, 7th grade…

He was nervous when he left this morning but then when he got home he said he loved it…

His favorite class… Home Economics…

DIL graduated from beauty school tonight after two years of going five nights a week and all day Saturday on top of her full time job… so we decorated their front door to surprise her when she gets home tonight…

I have made brownies for dessert and back packs are all ready for school again tomorrow…

not everything in life can be known.

Stop seeking all the answers, relax, and enjoy the ride into the unknown.

sometimes you need to let go.

Yes, it hurts when the things or the people we love are taken from us. Make your peace with loss. Nothing lasts forever. Like the trees in autumn, you too must learn to shed your attachments and start afresh.

August Tenth

 

Last I wrote was two weeks ago and I was grumbling about work… Amazing how much can happen in two weeks…

I wrote the last entry on a Friday and went into work that afternoon as it was my closing shift… after being off for three days for the boy’s birthdays I was busy checking email and printing out all my reports and such for July ending and August starting when I was called into the HR office…

Seems everyone was waiting for me to get back from vacation so they could make an announcement but needed to meet with me first… Seems once again Sears is making changes and I was the one being effected again… They decided to eliminate all Hardline leads since the assistant managers could take care of the departments without us, or will once they learn everything we were doing… My co lead had already been told on Tuesday…

Fortunately their were full time positions in the store available and I am now an associate in the children’s department… I originally started in the children’s department 32 years ago and about 13 years ago I was the replenishment lead for children's and my co lead worked for me as an associate then… My co lead chose to take the severance package…

Nine years ago I was the pricing lead and that position was eliminated and I ended up in shoes as an associate but lost my pay then, this time we got to keep our pay… It took me over six years to decide to be a lead again and then I even promoted to the hardware lead… only to have it taken away six months later…

But ya know, I don’t know that I liked it… cause when they told me that I had lost my position I couldn’t stop laughing… partly too cause they said there were other positions so I knew I would still be working at Sears… I’ll be there forever……………… I felt that a huge stress had been lifted off my shoulders… And it wasn’t so much the stress of being a lead it was trying to learn all the hardware/electronic merchandise… there was just so much to know…

We still had to work in our positions another week and our last day was August 3rd…

I’ve only been in kids a week and I am loving it… Well not loving the humongous mess since it is Back to School time… But loving to get to play with the merchandise and actually stock and set the floor… instead of just pushing paperwork and redoing scans every week… I still help set the ads on Friday and Sunday… But I get to go in early every day and no closing nights…

But then I fall asleep so early at night now which is why it has taken me so long to update my blog…

Hubby rearranged the plants in the front yard… We pulled out all the iris and put them out for free for the neighbors to take… I think there are two bags left that I will either take to work or just plant them in the backyard somewhere…

We also replanted some plants that were not doing well on the side of the house into this planter above… they are doing much better now…

I have been cooking this past week since I get home earlier and am able to relax on my days off and not think about work or catch up on paperwork… I have made fish, a pork roast, lasagna, pasta and meatballs… This past Friday night I fixed pizza to celebrate my being home on a Friday night… of course I fell asleep early…

On Wednesday we went to son3’s new middle school to pick up his books and schedule… He’ll have in order: PE, Pre Algebra, Home Economics, Ceramics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies…

His new backpack he picked out…

And his new desk that son2 assembled for him…

He picked out the same one that son2 has…

He loves it… He and hubby have been moving his room around this week… I’ll have to take more pictures to share…

Time to go fix dinner now…

Back to work tomorrow and then a bit of vacation…
