Another week gone by again with no blogging…

Wednesday through Friday I was at work of course…

Son3 was finishing his last full week of sixth grade…

Son2 hung out with friends for a couple of days…

Hubby was busy around the house and trying not to bump his hurt finger too much…

On Saturday hubby and I went to the coast just the two of us… It was the anniversary of our getting engaged twenty two years ago… I’ll share pictures tomorrow… I am off for the next two days for my birthday…

On Sunday we were going to to go see the new Star Trek movie but we got distracted researching Las Vegas Nevada and now we’ll be going there the end of the month… I have a few days vacation at the end of the month for hubby’s birthday…

Watching the season finale of The Game of Thrones…

Father’s Day cards I made…

Joyce Meyer Ministries

If you want to be obedient, it will cost you something.

God doesn’t just want us to go through life; He wants us to enjoy where we are on the way to where we’re going.

God doesn’t have a bad attitude toward you—and you shouldn’t have one toward yourself! (1 John 4:9-11)

Your mind belongs to you; don't let the devil use it as a trash can.

Make an investment into your future and get some balance in your life. Say "yes" to what God says "yes" to and "no" to what He says "no" to.

Don't plan and then pray—pray and then plan.

Remember that if you make right choices, your emotions will eventually come in line with your decisions.

The confidence of knowing that God loves, accepts, and approves of you is the best thing you can ever have. -Joyce, "Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits"

When trouble comes, God is still there and He's still working. He has a perfect plan for you!

Make today the day you start making better choices.

God works according to the law of gradual growth, so don’t be discouraged if your progress seems slow. –Joyce

God loves you always. He knows everything about you and loves you anyway.

Ask God for help. Don't think that you can handle this yourself.

When we have a problem, we can worry about it, or we can choose to trust God.

Good and right thoughts take effort. You have to choose to think God's way.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

every moment is an opportunity for you to be happy.

You know how sometimes it seems that life is just throwing you one curved ball after another? Well, guess what, - you have a great way to respond! - you can use every opportunity, every single one, to be happy. Don't just take a shower - feel into and receive pleasure from the water on your skin. Don't just walk on the street - enjoy the fragrances of the trees and the flowers on your way. Don't just drive your car - sing karaoke to your favorite radio station.

The above flowers are on son2’s pumpkin plant…

Son3 is home from school… Son2 is off with friend’s… Hubby is at the hardware store getting sprinkler supplies…

And I have lounged around the house all day getting nothing done… well I did vacuum and give son2 a haircut… but that is it… distracted by the computer all day… and snacking… and a load of laundry that I just sorted to put away…

IMG_0003IMG_0004

Son2’s pumpkin plant and watermelon plant…

It’s been a whole week since I blogged… I’ve been busy… I’ve been grumpy… Every so often I get a bit envious that hubby and son2 are at home while I am at work…

Work continues to be crazy… Inventory were actually easy days… However our store had  very bad inventory results… where now we will have lots of visitors in our store trying to figure out where our losses were and what we can do to fix them… so we already have new procedures adding to our already long list of procedures and processes to do each day… and don’t forget the customer comes first… we think something is wrong however as we always have very good inventories and to make such a large loss in just one year… so we’ll see what they find..

I would have had an entry done last Tuesday but hubby decided to hurt himself on my day off… I had just settled down to work on my Father’s Day cards and hubby comes running in from outside saying he broke his finger…

It’s not my imagination but every time I finally decide I’m going to work on a project, someone needs me for something… I have not gotten back to those Father’s Day cards yet…

Hubby had good intentions too… He has been cleaning my van inside and out… New hubcaps, new floor mats… He was running the engine to check the oil and other fluids and was using the right hand to check the fluids while his left hand held the rag and was setting on the edge of the car… when the fan belt grabbed the rag and pulled hubby’s hand into the engine…

So off we rush to the emergency room… This happened at about noon, we were in the car by 12:30, in a room at emergency by 1:15, most of our hospital shuts down til 1:30 for lunch so we had to wait for x-ray to get back from lunch and they got hubby by 2:10 and he was back to emergency by 2:20, not broken so received nine stiches and we were back in the car by 3… stopped at Walmart for Tylenol and toilet paper… and back home for son3 and homework…

Remember I hurt my toe the week before… hmmmm MEN… and not to complain but I noticed today that my middle toes still hurt when I put pressure on them from above to bend them… just saying…

IMG_0006IMG_0008

IMG_0007

All my kitties…

Son2 wants to get a parakeet or two… he’s been researching… he can be very convincing… he also wants to get son3 some cheap little fish for his birthday come July… we haven't had fish since I went in the hospital to have son3 and came home to dead fish as no one fed them while I was gone…

IMG_0010

Hubby and son2 planted my flowers in the front barrel…

IMG_0011IMG_0012

Son1 moved out last September to get married in October…

Son2 moved into his room…

IMG_0013IMG_0014

He finally has almost finished putting everything away this week…

IMG_0015IMG_0016

We can finally see the floor…

IMG_0017IMG_0007

He had to sleep in the front room the first night as he didn’t finish everything in one day…

IMG_0008IMG_0009

After nine months his clothes are finally hanging in the closet and not just thrown in the laundry basket… He says it is so nice to open the closet and have choices of what to wear and find what you are looking for…

His bed is now clear… He still has to put up more shelves and hang his posters…

Of course the actual reason for cleaning his room, besides hubby threatening him… Getting a parakeet or two…

IMG_0001IMG_0002

Son2’s blackberry bush…

IMG_0010

My evil lately… smores with the giant marshmallows…

IMG_0006

I didn’t really have a lot of plans for today, but that was no reason for it to go by so fast…

Son3 is doing his homework… hubby is back from the store…

I’m thinking a simple supper since son2 is not here…

I closed all weekend so not much tv watching… still watching Grimm though…

We watched Game of Thrones last night and son2 was so ANGRY with the ending… it was a great shock… and I forget he is still a teen with hormones… but he still doesn’t need to get so mad about tv and games… wait til he starts discovering life outside of home and then he can have an attitude…

We are heading to the 100 temperatures… It is supposed to be 109 this weekend and I am off so we may go to the coast where it will be only 69… amazing how weather can be so different in just a short distance apart…

One more week and it will be my birthday… I got the day off as a vacation day…

And then I close the four days after that… just can’t seem to get ahead… however I also got my week off for hubby’s birthday at the end of the month…

My birthday is also son3’s last day of school for summer… that’s a great present in itself…

Did you notice he is still doing homework with just one week of school left…

I told hubby I don’t need anything for my birthday… I have enough books now to keep reading for the next five years or so…

Hubby is making some tuna fish… I’m still thinking pot pies too… Does that go together…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

your life is full of possibilities.

Don’t be discouraged by what seem like dead ends. Every moment in your life carries infinite possibilities, just waiting to be discovered. Like a vine finding its way even through the slightest openings in rock solid walls, so will you.

A lazy day at home cooking all day and enjoying the holiday while getting paid for it and not having to go to work…

IMG_0001IMG_0005

All the pictures were taken today… My orchid from Mother’s Day is still blooming…

IMG_0003IMG_0004

I love these flowers… Still waiting for hubby to plant them in the barrel in the front yard… He still needs to get some dirt…

IMG_0007IMG_0008

Between the full moon, hormones from menopause, Gabapentin, work stressing me out, hubby not working, the boys on summer vacation, meaning I’m the only one having to work while everyone gets to be home… I was very emotional last week… to the point of crying in the car on the way to work and on the way home and trying not to cry at work… and I had three days off last week since I called out with my hurt toe…

IMG_0009IMG_0010

I was in a good mood today though… The boys were plugged in all day with their games and what not… Hubby was in a quiet mood today though… And then everyone was grumpy as we can never agree on what we all want to watch… We found season one of Grimm so we are watching that since we started watching in season two…

IMG_0013IMG_0016

Today I lounged on the laptop emailing and reading blogs… washing laundry… cooking… eating… and the day is almost over…

IMG_0011IMG_0012

Son2’s pumpkin plants… the one in the pot on the left is doing better then the ones in the ground… I think the cats are maybe sleeping on the one in the ground as it looks smooshed…

IMG_0006IMG_0019

Son2’s watermelon plant on the left… no watermelons in time for summer but we have watermelon for dessert from the store…

IMG_0020IMG_0021

I really have to get a handle on the eating… I have been stress eating big time lately… and hubby and I have not been going for walks… although I get in over ten thousand steps most days at work on my pedometer… I need to wrap my mind around the idea that I want to lose weight… and do what I know from the time that I lost over thirty pounds… I have gained fourteen of those back since hurting my neck in the car accident two years ago… I have been on Gabapentin for eighteen months now… Smaller servings, no seconds, smarter snacking, more water, less juice and soda, less desserts, more walking… so easy, yet I am rebelling against my own self…

IMG_0002

Ribs I made today… so good…

IMG_0005IMG_0006

Turkey burgers and hotdogs for today too…

Everyone likes something different…

IMG_0001IMG_0003

On the right is the potato salad I made today…

and on the left is the sweet potato chips I made after seeing The Chew… I couldn’t get them sliced thin enough so I think I should have set the oven hotter as it took twice as long to cook them and they are still soft and the ones that are crunchy are burnt… so I was a bit disappointed… we’ll see how they taste tomorrow…

IMG_0007IMG_0004

We had also planned to roast some marshmallows on the bbq pit tonight but it is super windy outside… so we told son3 we would try again tomorrow… besides we are still full and those marshmallows are super big…

Son3 has school tomorrow so time to have him get ready for bed…
