Yay!! Inventory is over for another year!! Yesterday wasn’t too bad… Actually I spent most of the day doing nothing as we had brought in more shoe associates then we had counters in our area… in the morning they announced everyone to take a break and my co workers looked at me and said what is Linda gonna do, she never goes on break, lol… we just went outside for a few minutes to look at the rain and then it was time to go back… lunch everyone was on their own and I did my regular read my book in the break room… I’m reading the third book now in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series… I’m enjoying it even more now then the first time I read it… The store finished inventory about 1:15pm which left us another forty five minutes to do nothing as we were off at 2pm… still haven’t heard how the numbers came out… and wondering if they will announce the new shoe lead tomorrow or on Monday…

luckyday

So today I was off… I spent the day reading blogs, visiting everyone on facebook and just relaxing… Son3 had to be at school an hour early to go on his mission field trip to San Juan Bautista… they had a a charter bus that played a Tom and Jerry movie and Monsters Inc… we’ve already picked him up and he said he had a good day… his homework from yesterday is not due til tomorrow so we don’t have any homework tonight, just reading…

Hubby had his Macy’s interview today… He was there and back in just over an hour… He felt good about the interview in that he is getting in practice on interviewing again… on getting a job, hard to tell… they are hiring for fulltime/part time/on call… and various departments… only asked him what departments he would like to work in… they will notify by email their decision…

colorleprechaun

I made corned beef today with potatoes and green beans… hubby is now making a lemon pudding cake… son2 is off on his first away tennis match… we are just waiting for a call to pick up when he gets back to his school…

we have been watching season one of Angel… It is so good… the boys love it too…

Son1 came over on Tuesday and Wednesday night to work on his Jeep… installed a stand on the hood to hold his jack… a lot of drilling and cutting and measuring and going back to the store before he was done… he’s proud of it though… so he ate dinner with us and raided the pantry for snacks in between…

Now I’m off to read with son3… we’re reading the second book of the Wimpy Kid… I’ve started a list or schedule of sort of how to get things done around the house… for lent I’m trying to break out of the routine I’ve established and get in a better one… this week was sort of on hold with inventory and hubby’s interview… now hurry up son2 and get home so we can eat corned beef and watch more Angel… and then Bones comes on tonight… work tomorrow will just be set the ad, open boxes from the truck that came today and reset the men’s shoes…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it is time to finally forgive yourself. You've carried the guilt, the shame for long enough. You've kept your wounds open for long enough. The time has come to let go, to heal. Keep the lessons and let the pain heal. Yes, you know what we are talking about.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are perfect as you are. God doesn't create faulty life. No. Everything created by God is perfect, and so are you. So stop driving yourself mad with endless ways to improve, and just accept the glory of your being as is.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that the way you know you have found the right one is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with the person. Having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. - a quote by Dinah Craik

March Thirteenth

On this day, God wants you to know

... that decision is only wishful thinking until you take that first irreversible step. You can tell yourself that you have already decided, that nothing now can stop you, but if that step backwards is so much safer than step forwards, what will hold you true to your path when the going gets tough? Sometimes, the right thing to do is to take that first irreversible step, the one after which you cannot go back. And now, for you, is one of those times.

Above is the posting for today and below is yesterdays… Still so right on target with what we are dealing with… still waiting for them to make a decision/announcement on who got the shoe lead position… Inventory is Wednesday… will be so glad when that is over with… so I have Thursday off this week… which is good… cause it’s St Patrick’s Day and I can make corn beef… and son3 has his field trip to the mission… and hubby has his interview at Macy’s…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that tonight you can turn your worries to God, and have a good night's sleep. You've been worrying too much about the future lately. So tonight, go ahead, put your faith in God, and just have a peaceful evening and a restful sleep.

The pictures below are from when hubby and I went to feed the birds around March 9th… I have more that I will have to make a smilebox slideshow of… there were lots of seagulls being their greedy seagull selves…

I am so tired from having to get up at 5am this morning which was actually 4am old time… and I will continue to do this all week til I get used to the time change… but I am loving that it is 7pm and the sun is still up…

Son1 came over yesterday to visit for a minute… and then came over with girlfriend today to do his laundry and change her brakes on her car… and son1 was adding more gadgets to his jeep, lights and such… and he printed out his taxes… tomorrow I will apply stamps and get them in the mail for him… they stayed for dinner and just left a bit ago… hubby has gone off to get me gas for the week… and I am trying to get the boys, mostly son2 off the video games and into the showers… as the time change will effect them more tomorrow having to get up for school…

Last night we finally watched Life as we Know it… it was funny and sad and very good… we have one more Bones to watch on this disc tonight and they can go back to Netflix tomorrow…

A bird nest in our lemon tree…

Hubby changed the flow of the bricks from going to the fence to allow for drain off to rounding out the patio… the dirt area he will cement to finish off the patio…

IMG_0003

Looking at it from a different direction…

IMG_0004

The alyssum and bulbs are coming up…

IMG_0006

The non fruit bearing flowering pear tree is in full bloom…

IMG_0007

The left over bricks from redirecting the flow of the patio that hubby will use to trim off this part of the yard… he has since brought more from the front yard where he is changing the look of the yard border under the front window… since he got his unemployment extension and we are getting a bit back from taxes I have given him the go ahead to finish a couple of projects he had started that don’t cost much to finish… I may even have him get a couple of cans of paint so he can paint a bit in the house… it so needs it after eleven years of boy’s fingerprints…

Son3 is in the shower but not son2, so off to wrangle up some boys… I want to have a bit of ice cream, watch Bones and crash for the night so we can get up and do it all again tomorrow…

Cranberry Orange Pork Roast

I got the idea for this at someone’s blog but I can’t remember where… I did change it a bit though…

IMG_0014

I mixed one can of whole cranberry sauce and then poured orange juice into the can measuring a half a can and mixing the two together and adding a bit of honey….

IMG_0015

Put a pork roast or any type of meat into the crock pot adding pepper, seasoned salt, ginger and nutmeg…

IMG_0016

Pour cranberry/orange juice mixture around roast and cook in crock pot on high for six hours…

Very Tasty…

These pictures are from Wednesday morning’s sunrise…

Facebook has an application called On this day, God wants you to know… I’ve been reading it on a couple of my friend’s pages and decided to finally sign up myself as it says something different for each person….

Below are the ones from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week…. So far they are perfect and fit accordingly with hubby not working right now…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that all is well. All is going according to plan. Trust that there is a bigger picture. Trust that life is unfolding as it should.

The radio station that I listen to one day was asking everyone to call in and pick one word to honor God… I think it may have been for New Year’s Day for the new year… Not that I called in but the word I chose was TRUST… the message above that appeared on the first day has been what I have been telling hubby since he lost his job…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's time you let go. Yes, of course, you want to control so everything happens in just the way you want it. But at the end of the day, we control nothing, - it's all in God's hands, - has always been, and will always be. So, do what you can, and then let go, and let God handle the rest.

And yesterdays was perfect too as I’ve been telling myself every day that every thing happens in God’s time…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when you are feeling anxious, remember to breathe. Allow yourself to breathe in and out slowly. Allow your breath to bring you to a place of calmness. Allow yourself to be calm like the eye in the center of the storm.

And even though I had a good day today, today’s was just nice to hear…

IMG_0059

Yesterday and today were busy days at work getting ready for inventory… I forgot to wear my pedometer today but I’m sure I got in another 19000 step day just at work…

Yesterday son2 missed the bus again… and with the time change his split second timing in the morning will get worse before it gets better… son2 had a rough homework day yesterday, not that he had a lot just that he kept getting distracted too easily… so it took forever… son1 called while we were doing homework so hubby answered… son1 wanted to come over and do laundry… I was expecting him this weekend… hubby told him it was fine… I told him it wasn’t fine as it was already 6pm and we were still doing homework, I hadn’t fixed dinner yet and by time son1 got there and finished laundry it would be close to 9pm on a school and work night… so he called son1 back and son1 said he would do his laundry at the apartment complex… I felt bad but we have to learn that we can’t always tell son1 yes…

Today son2 did not have tennis so he hung out with his friends… I told him he could hang out but no spending the night… he got home on time and then asked if he could spend the night at his friend’s… Answer still no, he wasn’t happy… a little pudding cake and he’s fine now… reading his National Geographic Kids magazine…

We are watching The Mentalist… Had pizza and pasta for dinner… I’ve been doing good so far on eating less during lent… Stopping during the meal and not having seconds… I did have a brownie after lunch… so when I had some hot chocolate after dinner and then hubby fixed me some pudding cake, the pudding cake was too far as I was then full… but I only had one piece of pizza and a small bowl of pasta…

The big news of the week is hubby got his unemployment extension!!!!

Now The Mentalist is almost over, I’m taping Fringe and I’m ready for bed at only 9pm…

bf

I am off today so this will be an ongoing entry throughout the day… Although it is after 10am and the day is moving on without me…

I slept in til 6am, yes that is sleeping in when usually I am already at work at that time… Tried to get son2 out the door for the bus, but he missed it… our boys have trouble talking, listening and moving all at the same time… so I was trying very hard not to talk to son2 as each time I did he kept stopping from getting ready for school… plus he doesn’t understand that just cause the bus comes at a certain on most days that it doesn’t mean it won’t come just a smidge earlier on another day, as it did today… so hubby drove him to school and I got son3 up and me in the shower… son3’s morning ritual is get dressed, eat breakfast while watching Curious George, brush his teeth, study his spelling words on the white board in the hallway and get shoes on and out the door… he even got dressed on his own and picked out his clothes while I was in the shower and hubby was taking son2… however as much as son3 is starting to show independence, he is also showing the not so good side of independence and saying no to me a lot and arguing… but that’s an easy fix as long as he loves video games and I can threaten to ground him from them…

We are still walking son3 to and from school for the exercise… not that we like to cross the main roadway that only has stop signs and is the cut through for the freeway that everyone uses… the school has been very good about finally consistently having a crossing guard there but still once in a great while there is not, like yesterday and today… so of course every one barely stops even if you are in the crosswalk… so today we are almost to the middle of the street when the car that stopped in the left turn lane stopped just enough and then went… we were still a couple of feet from him but still what if at that instance son3 had decided to finally have a boost of energy, generally he is lagging behind us which is also not good in the crosswalk, and run ahead of us in front of the car at the same time he decided not to wait til we had crossed in front of him… so as his window was open I called him a bad name… he made no eye contact or retaliation as he knew he was wrong… and then of course all the way to school we had to explain to son3 why the man was wrong and why Mom was wrong for calling him a bad name… this town makes me so angry every day to walk and drive here, as I’m sure every town does… if only I had a helicopter…

Now hubby and I are home, have had breakfast, talked a bit and now he is outside working in the backyard~fixing fences and such… I have a list of things to do today and need to get busy… especially since lent has started and my goal was to be on the computer less and taking care of the things around the house I have been neglecting over the winter… I have started the laundry and now I am off to wipe down the boy’s bathroom and clean my bathroom…

aniset1b

It is now almost noon… both bathrooms are clean, vacuumed the bedrooms and hall, second load of laundry in… took pictures for my TMS entry and now I’m having a cola break… hubby did get a job call earlier but since they didn’t identify their company and only referred to the resume they received we’re sure it is from the online job websites however it is probably outside sales commission or work from home… if you love selling insurance of any kind and are extremely outgoing and love talking to people then there are a lot of jobs for you… however we would prefer an actual work place to go to and clock to punch… not rely on commission only and have your own cell phone and laptop…

Off to water the houseplants and then watch Emergency while I work on my blog entries for Motivation Station and Krazy Kitchen…

Untitled-100

Now it’s almost 5pm… We watched Emergency and I had some lunch… Finally finished my entry for TMS… I knew what I wanted to write about, just couldn’t get my thoughts in order in the entry… We walked to pick up son3 and took Danny with us… Son3 only had to write his spelling words in ABC order as he did his math homework at school… still need to test him on his words and read a bit later… he still didn’t take a test on the last book we read… Son2 had decided this morning that he wasn’t going to tennis practice as he had homework to catch up in: a lot of history and some zoology… he’s working on it now…

I put some pasta on the stove to boil and some meatballs in spaghetti sauce and proceeded to put the ink I bought in the old printer… I always just order the refill generic ink online where you can get 3 black cartridges for $20… I still had some generic color left… so replaced all the ink, proceed to print the taxes on the little bit of paper we have left and it won’t print… a pop-up comes up saying the printer had a part not working and to contact the dealer…. ARGH! always when I want to print… and I just got a new printer last year but did not want to spend the $60 to replace the ink in it… since it was new did not want to buy generic ink… so I went to my room to finish my chocolate bar from last night and hang up and put away the laundry… if hubby can’t get the printer to work tomorrow then guess I will be ordering ink and paper for the new printer… I know we are getting a refund but that is for hubby not working, not ordering supplies to get the refund, lol…

Just waiting for the last load of laundry to go in the dryer… and make some garlic bread and veggies to go with dinner… we got Bones Season 3, Emergency and Life as we Know it from Netflix today… Everything is a repeat again tonight on TV… Watched Glee last night…

Hubby is outside watering the backyard… I think the rain is done for the year and time to turn the sprinklers back on… Gonna finish fixing dinner and since I got a few things done today, I can relax for the rest of the evening…

March Eighth…

mardi-gras-6

Today was a nice busy day of getting ready for inventory… no time for thinking about the supervisor position… I cleared some clearance from the stockroom to the floor, stocked the kids and women’s hanging flip flops, cleared the garbage from the stockroom to the bailer, went to lunch, finished opening the boxes, no more boxes til tomorrow when they bring up today’s truck, put away the women’s shoes and put away the men’s work boots… I got in over 19000 steps on the pedometer…

Came home to talk with hubby about his day, he did a bit of grocery shopping… he’s been taking Danny for a walk when he picks up son3 from school… once son3 was home we did his homework… just homework for today even though he missed yesterday… and only ten spelling words… so just spelling sentences, write his words, a math page and finish reading his Spiderwick book…

Son2 was home from tennis, they had a scrimmage today but he lost his 3-8…

I just pulled out all the leftovers from the fridge for dinner… I had two chili dogs and finished the cranberry/orange roast… We’re watching a couple episodes of Twilight Zone and then son3 needs to get in the shower…

Glee is on tonight… I’m heating up some water for hot chocolate… and I think I have a Hershey bar still left from my Christmas candy stash… It’s Mardi Gras so chocolate is my gluttony of choice… Then tomorrow starts Lent, which I have a list for…

And tomorrow I have a day off…

March Seventh

Son3 stayed home from school today… He started getting a fever last night… and when I checked on him this morning as I was leaving for work, I could see him glowing from the hallway… his cheeks and ears were bright red… He was fine by time I got home and will be going to school tomorrow… so it was nice not having homework tonight but I’m sure we’ll have extra homework tomorrow… actually they started benchmarks again this week but it said they are practice for the ones in April…

Son2 is now home from school and tennis… both boys are showered and we are just waiting for the boneless rib shaped pork patties that we will have on buns to finish cooking so we can have dinner… we have Family Guy from last night that I taped to watch… all the Monday night shows are repeats tonight…

Which is good cause son3 and I have to finish reading his Spiderwick book so he can take some AR reading tests this week…

Well I’m 98% sure I probably got the lead position… only because I talked to my lead this morning and she told me about her discussion with her supervisor and the store manager last Friday… it did come down to me and one other person… so I’m glad for the competition… I’m sure it will still be a few days before they announce anything… and then next week is inventory… I will be so glad when it is over… still lots to do but we are way caught up with opening the boxes compared to last year…

Just a short update tonight… as it’s almost 7pm and we are finally ready for dinner… I’m working later this week to get ready for inventory… of course soon I may be working even later with the new position…

March Sixth…

Cute-bear-4

Home from work… Hubby’s been working in the backyard… the boys have been watching Futurama online at Netflix… I’ve checked email and facebook and now I’m fixing dinner… some leftover roast and chili hot dogs… I’ve sent hubby to get the boys off the computer… as son2 still has homework and needs to get his clothes ready for school and tennis… son3 is off to the shower and needs to finish reading his book for school… we have Facing the Giants to watch tonight and Simpsons and Family Guy are new tonight…

Another fast day at work today… I set the ad… the other associates after what seems like a month now are still setting the new Spring shoes for women… of course the mixed directions they have gotten have caused them to have to reset it about four times now… I then went to lunch and was just putting away the shoes in the stockroom when I got called to the store managers office for a second interview for the shoe lead position… I was in there over an hour… he likes to talk… and since I’ve known him for thirteen years, I’ve heard all his stories before… he said a couple more have dropped out of the running since talking with him… I told him I was still interested and not backing out… I still think I am the most qualified out of everyone… and he probably knows it too, however there have many years and times I didn’t pursue other promotions and we talked about those… So I’m still waiting to see what fate has in store… when I got back on the floor of course the other associates wanted to know how it went… they want me to get it as they know me and don’t want a stranger, lol… One of the shoe associates that also applied said she had a dream that I got the position… Actually after talking with him today I feel more comfortable about taking the position then scaring me off…

I still think that this is part of the reason hubby lost his job… forcing me to continue on in my career after putting it on hold the last ten years or so since son3 was born… and waiting to see if hubby was going to step up his career at anytime… not that I wouldn’t take advantage of staying at home, I’m meant to go to work… hubby however I think prefers to stay home and take care of the house and the boys… not that we can afford for either of us to stay home, just that hubby will now work around my schedule when he gets a job and I will put in the hours…

Hubby does have an interview coming up on March 17th… He’s been applying at everything, part time or full time… and finally got an instant interview at one of the online applications websites for Macy’s…

So I’m still trusting God and waiting to see how his plan plays out… of me becoming a supervisor again… what kind of job hubby will get… that we will still pay the bills… and one of us will still always be here for the boys… I know it will all work out… I’m just impatient to see how…

Meanwhile we have about a months worth of work to get ready for inventory on the 15th/16th and only a week to do it… but I keep telling myself I’m not the supervisor yet so it’s still on my supervisor to have a plan to get ready…

Also hubby has been out of work for six months now… just doesn’t seem real… we got the last unemployment check and now waiting to see if he will get the extension… I feel he will though…

Cute-bear-18

Son1 has been coming over about every two weeks to do laundry… he did come over for a minute on Friday as he needed some things from his stuff in the garage as his brake line broke on the Jeep… haven’t heard from him since so I’m guessing he fixed it… he has changed position at his job too… he is now in shipping instead of receiving… he was having a conflict with his supervisor so management moved son1 so they could access the situation… meanwhile his roommate is moving to a new and better job with a new company soon…

Son2 spends all his day at school and then tennis… his report card came: PE A; Anatomy C; English C; US History C; Geometry A; Zoology C+; Cooking/Sewing B; Draw/Paint A… Told him a few too many C’s in the important classes…

Son3 finally had his state testing writing test… so hopefully we are done writing essays for now… what he needs to get caught up in is his AR reading; reading a book each week and taking a test on it… actually reading as many books as you can and taking tests to accumulate points… but by time we are done with regular homework, I just want some down time and so we haven’t been reading in quite a few weeks… although he still hasn’t taken a test on the last book we read… So he finally agreed on a few books today from the bookcase that we can read and the school has tests on them in their system… On the 17th he is going on his mission field trip… I will probably have that day off as he will be on his field trip and hubby has his interview and we have inventory on the Wednesday before which is my usual day off… See how everything always works out…

Now if I could find some time this year to take some vacation at work… I’ve usually already had two weeks of vacation by this time of year…. One in January and one for the week of Easter… but since my vacation got all messed up last year, I didn’t have any vacation left for January… and Easter is late this year at the end of April so still a long way off… not to mention if I get the position will I be able to take off on vacation so soon… Meanwhile I haven’t had a whole week of vacation since my birthday last year in June…

Dinner is ready… Time to round up the boys… Almost 6pm and still lots to do with eating dinner, watching movies and shows, getting ready for school and having five minutes of quiet time with hubby before I pass out for the night…

Happy Journaling…

March Fifth

Cute-bear-2

We’re watching The Social Network… Very interesting… and gives a whole new outlook about how facebook really started…

We have Facing the Giants to watch next… We already watched Megamind this week… So funny… Son3 loves it…

I’ve been wanting to do an entry for over a week now… I keep running out of day but have lots I want to write about… Not to mention it hits 8pm and I’m ready for bed… Like now…  Hubby has brought me some ice cream with caramel sauce… Maybe a Twilight Zone and then get the boys ready for bed…

Son2 should be tired as he spent the night at a friend’s with a bunch of friends and they probably stayed up most of the night…

Cute-bear-5

Today hubby gave me a haircut and made eggs, hash browns and spam for breakfast… son3 watched his cartoons and played his video games… I filled the birdfeeders, did lots of laundry and put a roast in the crock pot with a cranberry/orange juice/honey glaze… it was really good and I will share the recipe soon… I helped son1 figure out his taxes a couple of weeks ago and today I did ours… just waiting for the ink to come I ordered for the printer so we can print everything out and get them in the mail… hubby replaced a fence post in the backyard as the fence was falling down between our backyard and the neighbors… we also got new neighbors today… the house across the street from us has been in a foreclosure sale since hubby has been out of work… so it was a good feeling seeing someone move in… after we did all that son2 finally came home from his friends… so he and son3 watched Futurama episodes on Netflix and hubby and I went for a walk to feed the birds some old bread and popcorn… Came home and finished fixing dinner, we watched the movie and here we are watching Twilight Zone… They are on VHS tapes hubby taped from a Marathon back in 1988…

Tomorrow is work again… I so need an hour in the morning each day to write an entry… when I can think and I’m not tired… and feel more organized for my day… clocks changing soon so more sunlight, that will help… today was sunny and warm… chance of rain tomorrow and Monday…

Speaking of facebook, think I will check on frontierville before I go to bed…

Happy Journaling…

February Twenty Sixth

Cute-bear-9

We just finished having lasagna for dinner and are now watching Lost in Space Season one… Waiting to have a brownie for dessert… I had another bit of a lazy Saturday today… Well I did wash the bedding, towels and rest of the laundry… Battled ants in the boy’s bathroom and wiped down the boy’s bathroom… I started the taxes yesterday so had to order some ink for the printer today so when the taxes are done I can print them out… I also ordered me some pants for work… I got caught up on blog reading… posted photos on facebook and in my photo blog, Not Just Roses… I texted with son1 to let him know that some bills had came… he may stop by tomorrow to pick up his mail…

Son2 had a friend over today… They played the card game he got son2 last week at the bday party… Son3 spent the day playing Playstation 2… Hubby was playing video games too…

Hubby also made pancakes and fried eggs for breakfast… Our Saturday morning breakfast topic this morning was about son2 getting his driving permit… some of his friends are already driving, so we also talked to him about not getting in the car with them as they are not allowed to drive anyone in their cars under 18 until they are 18… son2 says he is fine about waiting to get his permit til he is 18… time for hubby to get a job and son2 to get a job and then we can get son2 a car to learn to drive in and get his license in…

We were supposed to have snow and rain today… but not a drop, here anyway, maybe in the foothills… It rained all day yesterday…and it is still cold today… warming up tomorrow and then maybe rain by Wednesday…

Off to work again tomorrow… I so need a vacation… I usually have one in January and then again for Easter… but Easter isn’t until the end of April this year… and then if I get the new position… how will I squeeze in vacation too… five weeks of them even… tomorrow I have a huge ad to set but have help… it’s mad about shoes sale time again…

The boys both have history homework this weekend… and son3 and I have reading to do… and hubby is going to the grocery store tomorrow… and we need to take a walk and feed the birds again, have some leftover popcorn from son2’s party last week still… I also need a haircut… I had so many things I was going to get done today…

Hubby has brought my brownie with ice cream…

Lent is coming soon… March 9th… I’m making a list of things to do and not do during lent… And we start daylight savings time March 13th…

Now we are watching the last disc of F Troop season one…

Still have CSI, the Mentalist and Fringe to watch from this week too…

Happy Journaling…

February Twenty Fourth

cute-bear

Aren’t these bears just too cute… I found a bunch of different ones going through Google images…

Another week of February almost done… Son3 has had a bunch of homework this week… especially writing as they are getting ready to take their state writing tests next week… we just finished writing four paragraphs about a genie granting three wishes… and yesterday we had to write three paragraphs on his favorite story out of his school reading book…

Son2 is home from tennis, they had their first scrimmage today… they went to a tie breaker but the other school won… he didn’t go to practice yesterday as he had gotten behind in homework… he still needs to finish writing his essay tonight on cruelty of animals…

Tomorrow will mark exactly two months since Christmas day and we are still crazy busy at work… they added associates to the schedule for the rest of the week so we can get cleaned up but then the weekend will come and it will just get tore up again… we are still putting away all the shoes that we opened from the trucks and are setting the woman’s floor with all the new spring shoes… today we had our weekly count and I think we have tons of mark downs again next week… it just never ends… I think they just finished the interviewing for the lead position today… now just waiting for them to make a decision… As far as most qualified that would be me… but a couple have potential… and a couple have either changed their minds or are just not qualified… so we’ll see…

It is so cold this winter or maybe it is just me… We have the heater set at 68 degrees but it is still chilly… I don’t remember past winters turning the heater up so not going to now as we want to keep the bills down… it is only going to be in the 40’s the next two days with rain and maybe even snow actually in the valley…

Waiting for the boys to get out of the showers… we’re having parmesan chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner… and watching Hogan’s Heroes… Big Bang, Rules of Engagement, CSI and The Mentalist come on tonight… I’ll be taping them as I was fast asleep last night at 8:30… can’t wait til we change the clocks and the sun is up longer… the sun is beginning to peek out just before 6am now and stay up til almost 6:30pm…

Will be good to come out of hibernation so I can quit eating and get more done around the house… I just want to sleep, watch TV and eat…

Speaking of which, time to eat dinner, so I can watch TV and go to sleep…

Happy Journaling…

February Nineteenth

IMG_0003

These pictures are from Wednesday I think… the weatherman keeps telling us rain but then that keeps changing… We did have a bit on Wednesday and a bit yesterday but just a sprinkle or two in between… Lots of clouds keep passing over though but they don’t stay long… the weather is on now saying a lot of rain tonight… although online only says a 10% chance of rain tonight…

I had my interview yesterday for the shoe lead position I applied for… I was a bit nervous and talked too fast but she was impressed with my experience and was surprised to learn that I’m not quiet since she doesn’t know me well as our paths don’t cross… even though she is my boss’s boss… I realized afterward that I actually seemed eager to have the position… darn, lol… I’m leaving it up to faith on whether I get the position, so I can get off this fence on whether or not I’m supposed to be a supervisor again… One day at a time either way…

IMG_0005

We had til today to get all the boxes open and caught up at work… By time I left work yesterday they had all the boxes up even the ones from the truck this past week… Hopefully last night and today they got a bulk of the last of it opened… Tomorrow I have to set the ad, scan the floor for missing displays, open boxes and we have to start scanning the stockroom again to get the shoes located in…

Had all kinds of plans today while being in my room so son2 could entertain his guests but actually the time went by quite fast… I read a few blogs, played on facebook for just a bit, wrote a couple of entries, had big plans of sending hubby’s resume out to some printing places but that didn’t work out as planned as the websites were being difficult, still need to put away the laundry and wanted to clean my bathroom but we did get caught up on all our shows we taped for the week…

IMG_0009

The boys have a three day weekend and son3 does not have homework… woo hoo… son2 does but that is on him… he is picking his classes for his senior year, he turned it in yesterday… he went to tennis yesterday but no one was there, don’t know what was up with that… he also got the papers for ordering uniforms and the match schedule…

IMG_0010

I finally decided on what book to read next~Stephen King’s Dark Tower… the last time I read that book was back in 1982 when I graduated high school… I was trying to read The Dark Matter by Peter Straub but I couldn’t get into it nor understand a thing that was going on… Stephen King and Nora Roberts just have a way with words that just draw you right in…

I told son2 to start ending the party around 6:30 which it is now… I’ll give him fifteen more minutes and then may have to send hubby out there to start wrapping things up…

Anyone for more pizza…

IMG_0024

Hubby, son3 and I are banned to our rooms to watch TV and play on the computers… Such torture, lol… well for son3 it is as he wants to see what the big kids are doing and what all the laughing is about… He’s playing his computer games… Hubby and I have watched Castle, Bones, Fringe, CSI and now The Mentalist… Our popcorn is all gone, only one piece of pizza left and we’ve had chocolate reeses and chocolate covered raisins…

IMG_0027

I wonder if there is any cake left… Only one more hour til the party is over…

Here’s the cake that hubby has been making since he has been home being a homemaker while looking for a new job…

He’s been making chocolate cake and chocolate pudding…

The ones in the above picture are chocolate cake with banana pudding with banana cut up in it…

We are thinking lemon cake with lemon pudding next…

And hubby even saw strawberry pudding for strawberry cake…

The possibilities are endless…

And it is less than $4.00 to make… two boxes of cake mix and two boxes of pudding…

Holly sitting on son3’s library books… She was getting in some reading…

IMG_0007

I can’t decide what I want to read next… For Christmas son1 got me the fourth book in Nora Robert’s Wedding Quartet, Happy Ever After… So since Christmas I read it then all three of first ones again and then Happy Ever After again… They are that good!!

So now I don’t know if I am in the mood for Stephen King, Richard Castle, more Nora Roberts, Narnia, Harry Potter~the last book to get ready for the last movies, or reread The Dark Tower series again…

Today was my day off… Got son2 off to school… Hubby drove son3 today as it was raining… Then hubby and I had breakfast and went to Walmart… I haven’t been to Walmart since before hubby lost his job in August… But finally had to breakdown and get some shampoo, deodorant, vitamins…. I was running low on a few things… Also got the boys an umbrella as the old one was broken and found son3 a backpack for school as his had a broken zipper… Son3 also needed socks and briefs as his were getting small… I was mainly looking for me some pants for work as mine are all still too big although not as much since I still haven’t lost those pounds I gained over the holidays… And plus I need new ones in case I do get the lead position… as I have been wearing jeans and we are not supposed to but I get away with it since I am mostly in the back opening boxes… They had nothing pant wise, well nothing in my new size, had some bigger sizes in the styles I was looking at… I did find a pair of jeans in a smaller size than the ones I am wearing… So I got one pair… I have ones that are size 14 that I wear at home and they are too big… I wear size 12 to work that were getting too big but have been fitting ok since the few pounds that came back… So today I bought a 10… First thing when I got home I tried them on… They are skin tight but I did button and zip them and I could still breath… Yay Me!! maybe just the motivation I need to stop eating again… Hubby has been cleaning the garage and we can now get to the weight system again… and we were doing so much more walking before the holidays…

After Walmart hubby and I watched Emergency and I ate popcorn this afternoon… I had bought some for son2’s party… Did I mention he has about six friends coming over this Saturday for an after birthday get together… They’ll have pizza, chips, dips, popcorn, and tea and soda… Movies and XBox games and board games… Hubby, son3 and I will stay in our rooms with our computers and movies… maybe I’ll even clean my bathroom…

Son3 and I got his homework done… I made chicken quesadillas for dinner… and hubby had to pick up son2 from tennis as it was hailing, so they got out before the buses came… Now we are watching Mike and Molly and Hawaii 50… Son2 has to pick his classes for school for next year by Friday… and he brought home the order form for his tennis uniform… and son3 brought home a permission slip for his field trip to San Juan Bautista Mission next month…

I’m gonna finish watching Hawaii 50 and get everyone ready for bed… I’m tired… I am happy to report that at work they have brought up all the boxes from receiving… we have til Saturday to get them all opened and put away… Anything in the warehouse is new that came off the truck this week… Woo Hoo… We were supposed to have a visit from the district shoe guy today, I wonder if he came…

Tomorrow is Thursday so don’t forget to visit me at The Motivation Station for Thursdays With Linda…
