August Thirteenth…

free-back-to-school-vector

Yesterday was my first day back to getting off at five from work, now that the boys are back in school… so my evenings are shorter and I ran out of blogging time… So yesterday was a long day at work, although it went along… I spent all day locating shoes into the stockroom… until the last two hours when the supervisor and I did too much talking since we hadn’t seen each other all week… Today I finished locating the shoes into the stockroom and opened the rest of the boxes… Now just waiting for receiving to bring up the big pile waiting in the warehouse… Lots of people back to school shopping… when I got to work yesterday, you needed a snow plow to get through the kids shoe department… shoes all over the floor in every aisle… so I helped clean up kids for a bit in the morning…

The boys had a good second and third day at school… so technically one week in already… son2 tried to change his classes again today, his teachers said ok, but the office said no… he wanted out of anatomy and drawing… son3 wanted to join band but I did not like that he would get pulled out of class randomly throughout the week to go to band and miss class time, plus I do not think he realizes the commitment it takes to learn an instrument… he wants to play the trombone… so we have compromised and told him we would learn some things at home… so son2 is going to show him drums from when he was in drum line in junior high and give him his electronic drum pad… and I am looking into getting an electric keyboard… I use to play piano a bit and I have been telling son2 we should get one, plus it might be cheaper than son3 taking band… He’s only in the fourth grade…

Son1 is wanting to go to driving school to get his class A license to drive big trucks… It’s $1200 for the driving school… Told him if he saved up for a couple of months, he could go, and then it would not be a struggle trying to pay as he went… Plus he mentioned something about wanting to go to City College… he does know they have books there and you have to read them, right… I’m glad he’s interested, just don’t know if he has the patience to go to college full time…

He’s been waiting for girlfriend all evening… to go to dinner… she was getting her hair done… it’s 9pm and she is finally on her way… son1 said he is not even hungry… he had pizza with us earlier…

school-bag

I am still perplexed that I am losing weight… my goal for August was to lose 6lbs… bringing my total to 20lbs since the middle of May… I’ve already lost 4-6lbs this month… I say 4-6 cause weight fluxuates so much every day… So I’m giving myself the month to lock in the 6lb lost for good… Have to wrap my mind around the discipline to keep my body at the new weight and let my body adjust and settle at the new weight… So this whole weight loss thing is more a battle of the mind than with the body… I’m still eating but I am aware of how much… I’ve eaten a bit more this week… but even mixing up the days keeps your metabolism on its toes…

Yesterday… Breakfast: two waffles with peanut butter and apricot jelly; chocolate milk… Lunch: chimichanga, yogurt, cola… Dinner: chicken leg, rice, tortilla chips and chili, water… mini almond joy…

Today: Breakfast: yogurt with frosted flakes sprinkled in… Lunch: chimichanga, yogurt, cola… tortilla chips… Dinner: pizza, salad, cactus cooler… thinking of having a popsicle…

To me that looks like a lot of food… and it is no different to what I used to eat… it’s the portions that are way smaller… I used to have tortilla chips all day by the handfuls… now I take one at a time and only have a few to appease my need for crunchy and salty… instead of four full size pizza slices… I now cut one slice in two like I do for son3 and it seems like I had four slices but really only two sliced into four… the biggest thing is Stay Out Of The Kitchen! that is where the food is that we don’t need if it’s not meal time or the stomach is not growling… I think too that everyone has to find what works for them… this is life not a diet and you have to learn what your relationship with food is… Everyone keeps asking what I did to lose the weight and I don’t really have an answer… I’m not doing anything cause that would be work and too hard… I’m simply adjusting how much I eat… eventually I’ll have to add in some exercising and change foods here or there… I’m learning as I go as this is a life long mission learning to have a relationship with food where we can get along…

Last night hubby and I watched some Kolchak episodes from Season 1 and tonight we introduced son2 to Lost In Space, the very first episode… he has now gone to bed as he is tired from school… Son3 is latched onto video games… isn’t he tired from school… he needs to go to bed… I need to go to bed… I’m tired… Tomorrow we’ve got to do more school stuff on our day off…

August Eleventh…

atschoolgv1

I had a wonderful quiet day today while son2 and son3 were back at school… Son2 had his first four classes today and tomorrow will be another first day of school as he has his second four classes… Son3 didn’t want me to walk him to his class this year… He didn’t even want me to get out of the car, lol… Said he’s with the big kids now and he could find his class with his friends… They both already had homework and  I had a ton of papers to fill out for the teachers and office… Plus hubby and I had to go to Back to School night for son3’s class to hear the teacher’s expectations… Son2 already needs money for his Home Economics class and son3 has a project due next Friday… I already feel behind and it’s just the first day…

Hubby and the boys just finished watching Win It In a Minute… Now the boys are settling in their rooms… They’ll be tired after school for sure tomorrow…

Back to School Clip Art 671

I played on facebook and the computer, cleaned up some paper piles, updated the calendar for the next three months and watched Emergency… It comes on at noon on the Retro Channel… For breakfast I had Capn Crunch Berries cereal… For lunch I had two enchiladas, a tomato, some chips and a cola… I was stuffed… so I skipped dinner… there was leftovers in the fridge for the boys… I did have an ice cream bar just a bit ago…

Now we are all tired and going to bed… it was an emotional up and down day of starting the new school year… and hubby has been staying late with all his customers getting ready for the school year…

Last night got away from me and I ran out of time to do a post… Nothing exciting at work yesterday… I wasn’t quite motivated either… We were short hand helds so I wasn’t able to scan the displays for men and athletic shoes… So just changed out the ad from the weekend… and checked out Pebble on the computer… kind of like facebook but just for work… opened boxes… went to lunch, had my usual chimichanga, yogurt and cola… then opened boxes til it was time to go home… I actually cleared up half the boxes but as I was leaving saw the guys bringing two more full carts to the stockroom…

After work I made chicken enchiladas with corn and stewed tomatoes… while hubby ran to the grocery store… son1 and girlfriend had dinner too… then they watched Rush Hour 3 and girlfriend fell asleep… Son2 watched Legion and stayed up too late… son3 watched Hot Shots… and hubby and I watched Star Trek Insurrection and I fell asleep…

school_bus

Today I had a vacation day… Which was good cause even though they are getting ready for school they are hanging onto summer… Son2 finished his Netflix movies today'; Legion and Book of Eli… Son3 had Pirates of the Caribbean marathon yesterday and went back and forth between video games and movies today… Son2 had a very hard time getting up at 6am this morning… I spent the day cleaning out the school supply drawers and making sure they have everything for tomorrow from clean clothes to backpacks to lunch money… Now they are showered and ready for bed, nails have been cut… they are heading to their rooms and it is lights out at 9pm…

This morning I got on the scale and it said I have lost 17lbs since the middle of May… I don’t know how this is possible… I know I have made changes but nothing that I feel is drastic… For breakfast this morning I had a handful of shredded wheat with a glass of juice and my vitamins… For lunch I had boneless chicken, stewed tomatoes and black eyed peas… For a snack I had two plums and a cola… For dinner I had two chicken legs, white cheddar shells, broccoli rice and white corn… and only water to drink… and a few tortilla chips before dinner… and now hubby is making brownies and last night before bed I had an ice cream bar… I am watching my portion sizes and being aware of the food going into my mouth and chewing…

Now I am off to straighten up and put away laundry and myself to sleep so I can get up early and send everyone off to work and school….

Rose2

Today was a quiet non eventful day…

Worked 6-2:30… Set the ad, inputted my vacation requests for the rest of the year into our new system, cleaned up the stockroom to make room for more shoes and went to lunch… After lunch I opened boxes and more boxes…

Once home, got the boys on their chores… son2 finished taking down the pool today… son3 read another chapter in his book… and son1 and son2 were playing video games… son1 is just hanging out today resting from all his working and playing…

I ate my usual lunch of chimichanga, yogurt and a cola… two tomato sandwiches when I got home… and a chili dog with peas and carrots for dinner… hubby gets home late on Sunday so everyone is on their own for dinner…

I had plans of going through all the school supplies but still haven’t got to that… Definitely this week though… Instead I watched After.Life with Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci and Justin Long… It was OK, kinda sad and confusing… I think I understand the ending… Then I watched Avatar with son3 while playing on Facebook til Funniest Videos came on… Now I’m watching some old movie with hubby called Empire of the Ants with Joan Collins… Boys are watching Simpsons and Family Guy… they need to head for the showers and bed… Only two days til school starts…

01035559.detail.a

We’ve started planning for Halloween… Hubby found a video on YouTube on how to make candles out of pvc pipes… Son2 is thinking of being a scarecrow for the yard to scare the trick or treaters… Hubby is making stands out of pvc pipe for the dummies this year… Need to start stocking up on candy… Still have 100s of pencils to give out too from last year… Now hopefully hubby is able to get Halloween off… It’s on a Sunday this year… I have the week off before but will have to work on Halloween… Hopefully I can get off early… Or how will we set up for the trick or treaters if either of us is home…

Time to get the jammies and head for bed… Back to work tomorrow…

Birdhouse

I had a much better day at work on Friday…

Changed out all the sale tables, went to lunch and opened boxes… worked 6-2:45… once home, still in a good mood… checked email… played on facebook… went to son3’s school to check the posting for his teacher and class number… he was happy, a few of his friends in his class… made chicken wings for dinner with leftover hotdogs and chilli… watched a couple of repeat bones on TV… and went to sleep…

son1 spent the night at his friend’s house… and then today had to go to girlfriend’s to go to a wedding…

son2 and hubby were deciding whether to go fishing on Saturday/today… son3 and I did not want to go fishing, we wanted to stay home…

birdhouse1

Hubby and son2 decided not to go fishing as hubby wanted to have a family day, so I suggested we go to the antique stores…

So I got up first this morning, checked on the computer, did the dishes and made breakfast… scrambled eggs, corn beef hashed and toast…

Then we were on our way to the antique stores…

Went to the first one, very nice time looking at everything…

Then hubby went into one that we had not been in before… I like looking in the larger ones, but this was a small one person owned one… so in we went… the boys following… and I guess the door didn’t close correctly as the owner walked over to the door, closed it and stated loudly that the air conditioner was on and how rude that we didn’t close the door…

I was Pissed! I have to put up with opinionated customers and then when I am a customer I have to put up with opinionated associates… I told hubby I was done, went out the door, Firmly closing it behind me to be sure I didn’t let the air conditioner out… As I was mad, guess it slammed pretty good… cause the owner came out and called out to me, that wasn’t necessary, but I was too busy seeing red and to the end of the street by then that I didn’t hear him… however  hubby and the boys were coming out behind  the owner and hubby told him to calm down, the owner said something to the effect that I must have been born in a barn, where then son2 told him, that was his mom and that he better watch himself… hubby then told him that they were leaving and to back off…

They caught up with me and we went into another store that was more a ladies boutique but we were just trying to calm down at that point, so we pretended to look and then went on to the train store so the boys could look there… I still couldn’t calm down so I went back outside to wait for them…

Yes, the man was an idiot, and I didn’t catch the name of his store but I would post it every where so everyone would be warned not to shop there… However I am more aware of how much my cycle is way off last month and this month of my mood swings… I know I only have one good week a month and last week was my good week, but phew I am having my rages more often then just a few days before…

So we were able to go on to three more antique stores that we usually visit and the boys found some $1 comic books which was what gets them to the antique stores… and I calmed down a bit but my face and ears were burning all day and I got a big headache…

We then went to get Slurpees, having to pick different flavors as our favorites were not available…

Came home, the boys read their comic books, son3 had read two chapters in his Prince of Persia book earlier in the car, hubby started draining the pool and I swept the back patio and watered the grass…

I made some more BBQ wings for dinner and pulled out all the leftovers from the fridge and heated up some peas and carrots… Did three loads of laundry… Hubby ran to Walmart for a curtain rod for the front living room so we can finally put up a curtain over the top window that heats up that room… and I did the dishes again… Now we’ve been watching The Color of Magic that is a three hour two part mini series and we are about half way through part two… By the same people of HogFather…

Hubby already dozed off once so it needs to finish as it is back to work again tomorrow to set another ad and open more boxes and behave myself…

ALEXANDER_TERRIBLE_HORRIBLE

Today I had a terrible, horrible, no good very bad day… and it’s not my grumpy week so what’s up with that… I worked 7-3:45… Today being Thursday, we have to do our counts… today was kids shoes… Got the sales floor done and started on the stockroom on all the boxes I hadn’t opened yet… since all the boxes were exactly where I left them on Monday… when they decide to bring up all the rest of the boxes that came in on my days off… I can barely move in the stockroom right now as it is and they want to stuff it some more… I asked if they could wait an hour til I finished the count but nooooooo… And I lost it… I was so mad… and they could tell… the only good thing is since they brought up all the boxes, I got all the kids shoes counted… I finished and went to lunch to adjust my attitude with my cola, chimichanga, peach yogurt and my book…

After lunch I got the signs ready for tomorrow’s ad… and then spent the afternoon opening all the kids boxes since I had them all together from the count… not all put away yet but they are available to stock to the floor for back to school…

I also had no patience for my coworkers whining today either… nobody wants to be bothered with anything, it’s called working…

But before the work day ended I found out that my friend/supervisor for the past twelve years got transferred to another store… she just found out herself… tomorrow is her last day… I got all teary eyed… I miss her already… Her girls go to the same school as my boys… she answers all my school questions since she volunteers at the school all the time…

hugh_jackman_australia

I’m going to Australia….

Once home and I checked the mail, there was a letter for son2 inviting him to a program going to Australia… it was just an advertisement but I didn’t think it was funny… I’m the one going to Australia…

If you haven’t read the book above about Alexander, he keeps saying he’s going to Australia…

Percy-Jackson-and-the-Lightning-Thief-1-19-10

I never did make it through The Lightening Thief last night… Fell asleep at 8, woke up at 9, just as it was going off, the boys turned it to America’s got Talent, I went to my room to read my book, turned on America’s got Talent and the next thing I know everyone is in my bed watching the show… So it was 10 before I got back to sleep… I’m thinking this is why son2 has been so grumpy… we’re getting him up at 6:30am to practice for school starting but he is still staying up late for summer…

smokey

I’m feeling better now… After work I had a Cactus Cooler soda and a handful of tortilla chips… checked my email… talked with hubby and son2… son3 did five pages of practice math today and read two chapters in his Prince of Persia book… I made chilli dogs and curly fries for dinner… and now we are watching Smokey and the Bandit…

Haven’t seen son1 yet… he’s off buying his new used tires, four tires for $160… brand new, $850… he was trying to find a place still open that could mount and balance them for him…

It’s almost 9pm, do you think any of us are ever going get to bed early… I have to be to work at 6am tomorrow… so as soon as Bandit is done, it’s everyone to bed….

August Fourth Evening…

IMG_0010

I have eaten too much today… Had lasagna for lunch, then ended up having chips and salsa after getting back from son2’s school… Now we have just finished dinner and I had two helpings of pork, carrots, pasta and lima beans… I’m stuffed… We’re watching The Lightening Thief… son3 is too excited about the movie… he went swimming just a bit ago before dinner… and has also been catching up on all his eating the last couple of days…

IMG_0016

We went to son2’s school… took five minutes to pick up his schedule and then the drama ensues… when we went to high school, you just got the classes you got right… now they pick up their schedules and then get in line to change them… This is the third year now that son2 has fought his schedule… I tell him it doesn’t matter what the schedule says he is not going to like it… So after an hour of us discussing, him not calmly, and then him waiting in line with his friends, his schedule was changed and he was all happy… His final schedule: PE, Anatomy Psychology, English 3, US History, Geometry, Zoology, Home Economics-Cooking and Sewing and Drawing/Painting… The three classes that he changed… Algebra/Geometry to just Geometry… he had Geometry last year but didn’t really pass with a very good grade so he wasn’t able to go to Algebra 2… so the class they gave him was an in between class that was new this year, it is also at the other campus and he would have had to take the shuttle during lunch to get to it… so he switched and decided to retake Geometry to improve his grade and he does not have to go to the other campus… He also had both his electives as Diesel Engines, I guess it covers two class periods… he had requested small engines as an elective but not diesel… so they switched his electives to Home Economics and Drawing… these are what he originally had signed up for… I said weren’t they full and that is why you didn’t get them… he said probably so on the first day of class when the teacher decides there are too many students they will send the freshmen out, since he is a junior he is safe…

Son2 read all the Percy Jackson books at the beginning of summer… He is not liking the movie cause it is not following the book at all… the rest of us have not read the books so are just trying to enjoy the movie… hubby is getting grumpy with son2 who is also grumpy… son3 was grumpy earlier having to do his four math practice pages and has promised me he is going to read two chapters in his Prince of Persia book tomorrow… I’m just tired…. I’m thinking everyone needs to go to bed early tonight… Son1 is helping a friend with their car breaks, don’t know if he fixed his clutch yet but is driving the jeep… he still needs to get gas in our car he borrowed and the van is short on gas too… we all work tomorrow, hopefully we all have a car and gas to get there…

Son2 is eating a popsicle, son3 is having a pudding and cookies… I hear cars in the front yard, must be son1 working on his jeep… think I’ll have a popsicle and we’ll finish the movie….

This is what I made for dinner last night… Boneless pork with Lowry’s Szechuan Sweet and Sour BBQ… I put the pork in the crock pot, poured about 3/4 of the bottle of sauce over the pork and cooked it on low for six hours… the meat was so tender it just flaked apart like fish… I then added some dishes of pasta, carrots and lima beans… Everyone loved it…

August Fourth…

scan0014

It is so nice to be back in the spirit of blogging…

Today is my day off… I was up early however at 5:40am… Had to make sure son1 was up for work,it was a good thing cause he was still sleeping, and then take hubby to work as son1 was borrowing our car for one more day… He’s going to try bleeding the clutch after work today to determine whether he has to replace the whole thing… I took hubby to work as I need the van today…

In a bit I will be taking son2 to his high school so we can pick up his class schedule, ID card and PE clothes… One week from today the boys will be at school…

This morning I have checked facebook, email, blogs, started the dishwasher and wrote up my entry for The Motivation Station… Be sure to stop by tomorrow as it is Thursday, my day to host… I also fed the pets, got son2 and son3 in the showers, trimmed son3’s nails and had them get dressed as they are going out in public today… I spent a few minutes skimming the top of the pool with the net getting all the bugs and leaves out of it… the cover acquired a big hole and we have not been using it the last few weeks… so the pool is quite dirty this year… lots of chlorine though so at least it is sanitized dirt… plus son3 has only been in it once a week so not a lot of splashing to mix the water around… think maybe we’ll take it down this weekend as he won’t have much time to play in it with school starting…

So far today I have had my vitamins and a bowl of Capn Crunch cereal… now I’m drinking my one allowed cola and fighting the urge to snack on chips and salsa… I’m not hungry and it’s not time for lunch yet so no need for food…

I think I will go have a pear though and start sorting through all the back to school supplies we still have for when the boys bring home their lists from school next week…

Today we should be getting Netflix movies: After Life, The Color of Magic, The Book of Eli and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief…

scan0011

Son1 came home early last night from his friends as he was having a bit of car trouble… transmission fluid needed changing… so he called his boss last night and left a message that he would be late today or not in at all… I then reminded him that I was off today and he could borrow one of our cars… he had already bought everything he needed to fix the Jeep and gets off at 3pm so he would have plenty of time after work… he is now outside with hubby changing the fluid now… I told him last night that he is still under his 90 days and not good to be calling out… he was already written up for being late a time or two… he told me a bit ago that it was good that he went in as his boss was very pleased to see him not only there but fifteen minutes early and that he would not forget it any time soon… another guy they hired just three weeks ago may not make it til the end of the week if he doesn’t step it up a bit… he also asked me if it was ok if girlfriend came over and I said yes…

I have had pork chops in the crock pot all day with a Szechuen Sweet and Sour BBQ sauce… Boiling up some carrots and pasta now to go with them…

scan0012

Back from having dinner… it was really good… now watching Star Trek The Next Generation season 1… son1 is still working on his jeep, girlfriend keeping him company… he’s just been in and said it may be the clutch but drivable for the rest of the week til the weekend when he can work on it more… about $250 for new clutch parts and he is working on getting a whole new used set of tires in wonderful condition for $200… son1  and girlfriend are now off to visit with the friends that they were not able to last night due to the Jeep not behaving…

Today I had a vacation day… Got up at 5:45 to make sure son1 got off to work… Hubby got son2 up 6:30 to practice getting up for school… son3 did not quite get to bed at 9pm like I wanted last night and even though I started getting him up at 7:15, he did not get up til 8:30… and then he and son2 proceeded to play video games all day… son2 did empty the dishwasher and son3 read a chapter in his Prince of Persia book and four math pages in his practice book… refreshing on multiplication…

I caught up on facebook, read all my emails, caught up in reading blogs, swept the floors, vacuumed, washed all the rugs and towels, cleaned both bathrooms, put away the laundry from yesterday, watered the grass in the backyard, took pictures of the roses, not too many blooming at the moment, watched Emergency on the retro channel, ordered hubby’s present for our anniversary on the 15th and did the dishes…

Today I had my vitamins with water, had Capn Crunch cereal for breakfast; tuna fish and tomato on a croissant for lunch with a pear and a cola; water throughout the afternoon with two plums; and for dinner the pork, pasta, lima beans, carrots and a cactus cooler soda…

Now I’ve cleared up dinner, did the dishes and we’re watching Family Guy… America’s Got Talent comes on tonight… we have gotten hooked on that show this summer…

Today I worked 7-3:45… Had to scan men’s shoes and athletic shoes for missing displays… then change out the ad from the weekend… did a bit of training on the computer… opened boxes… went to lunch… read my book… had my usual chimichanga, yogurt and cola… back to opening boxes… tons of shoes coming in for back to school… I made a big mess of opening them but not putting them away yet… waiting to see what all will fit on the floor first… got in over 8000 steps on the pedometer at work… not as good as last week, when I was getting up to 15,000 steps… but the supervisor is back this week so a bit more talking and planning then just working…

Came home and ate a plum and two apricots… plus a Cactus Cooler soda… and then I couldn’t resist and made some popcorn… been wanting some for weeks now… I did however eat them one at a time not one handful at a time… lol… for dinner I made lasagna with left over lima beans… hubby made some garlic bread… I only had one helping of lasagna but too much garlic bread… never did have any ice cream last night… having lots of water tonight due to the popcorn… son1 was here for dinner tonight… he and son2 have been playing computer games… now he is off with his friends and son2 is settling in for the night…

I’ve done five loads of laundry tonight… will put them away tomorrow… we are now watching one of the discs of Star Trek The Next Generation season 1… son3 has been warned that he is going to bed at regular bedtime tonight to start getting back on school schedule… today he did a bit of math practice with hubby and read one chapter in his Prince of Persia book… after Star Trek I think I will head to bed early too and read some of my Nora Roberts book…

Beat The Heat_CC

For those of you who may have remembered an entry I did way back on May 19th about me having a weight loss plan… I apologize for not following up on that progress sooner… You probably thought I gave up on the whole thing…. but no…. my goal was to lose nine pounds by my birthday on June 12th… well actually I lost twelve pounds… I can’t believe it myself nor do I really know what I did exactly… I’ve also managed to keep it off til now in spite of all the birthdays and summer fun food we have been eating… So now that summer is coming to an end and school will be starting in just nine days, I thought it was time to get serious again…

GX00121Z

Today I was at work from 6-2:30… had a multi vitamin and vitamin D with water before I left… Set the ad, had lunch of yogurt, chimichanga and a cola… I’m reading True Betrayal by Nora Roberts… then opened boxes and put away shoes the rest of the afternoon… got in over seven thousand steps on the pedometer… came home, did the dishes, cleared the island, cleared the dining room table, put away the birthday decorations, addressed the cards to go in the mail for August, checked email and made dinner… I had boneless chicken, lima beans, baked beans, sour dough bread with butter and water… I nibbled on the crumbs from the chicken strips I cooked for the boys too… I had a creme soda after work that should have been water… I’m still using the small salad plates instead of dinner plates… I really noticed the difference when we ate out at AppleBees for son3’s bday… when they brought our plates of food, the plates seemed so BIG, since I have been using the small plates all year… I’m full now so I should be done for the day… unless hubby offers me an ice cream or popsicle later…

The boys are playing IronMan2 on son1’s xbox… Hubby and I are watching Disc 1 of Hercules season 1… I’ve sent son3 to the shower… Need to start getting back on a night time ritual of bed time for when school starts… Son3 did read some of his Prince of Persia chapter book today, he says he is on chapter seven…

Hercules is almost done and it is time to go clean the kitchen again…

IMG_0010

We’ve been having a lazy Saturday… Started the day helping an old friend I hadn’t seen or talked to in a great while… She’s learning about a business she wants to do in her spare time, she had to get ten people to volunteer to help her practice with the trainer… so this morning was my turn… not sure if I will sign up to use the products but it is great reconnecting with my friend and we will now keep in touch…

Hubby made fried eggs and pancakes for breakfast… I cleaned the kitchen and he worked in the yard… the boys have been on their games… and the day is just slipping away… nice and quiet though… just another week or so and the boys will be back to school…

Tomorrow is another work week… this past week went by fast too… supervisor was on vacation, all the back to school shoes are coming in… so I didn’t even have time to notice she was gone as I was quite busy and the week just flew…

I’ve been wanting to do this entry since the boy’s birthdays… so let me see if I can remember what we did…

Son3’s birthday was a whole week ago today already… he turned nine… He had a Bakugan themed birthday with just us… Got to open all his presents after breakfast… His one request for his birthday was he wanted to go to a restaurant… so after he watched Planet 51 and assembled all his new Legos, we were off to AppleBees… we didn’t think about it til we got there that they sing Happy Birthday if you tell them, so son3 wasn’t shy and spoke right up and said it’s my birthday to the host who seated us… he said ‘OK, we’ll have to be sure and sing’… the waitress came, took our orders, the food was great, kept the flavored lemonades coming, the boys had milkshakes and we had a great time… of course no one ever came to sing… but we were ok with that… we did see the host as we were getting ready to leave, drinking a soda and talking to a girl… told son3 would he like to kick him, but he said no, lol….. we still had cake at home and we were going to sing Happy Birthday and that was all he needed… We then went to Toys R Us to see about spending birthday money… Legos were buy one get one 50% off on certain themes so he chose two from the Atlantis theme… They also had a lot of backpacks for back to school so he found one he liked and chose a Bakugan lunch box as they were free with the purchase of any back pack… Back at home we had banana split ice cream cake and I can not even remember what we watched for a movie… The water park across from us was having fireworks and put on a great show just in time for son3’s birthday, that was even better than their fourth of July fireworks… I remember now we watched Popeye on Friday night, that is what I was watching when I went into labor with son1 and then Saturday night we watched Whose Line is it Anyway…

Son1 turned twenty three a week ago tomorrow… he spent his birthday weekend with his Dad that he hadn’t seen in seven  months as he is a truck driver and on the road a lot back East… originally he was supposed to go camping with girlfriend’s family… so we didn’t make plans for his birthday but he had a couple of presents that hubby picked up for him, tools for the Jeep and we ordered a banana filled cake that he requested… so I figured he could open his presents Sunday night or even Monday night…  unfortunately emotions were a bit high that weekend as I was having a grumpy hormone week and feeling a bit overwhelmed with both boys having birthdays and I’ve been a bit miffed with son1 in not following through on his responsibilities…  so when he showed up with girlfriend, that I was not expecting, Sunday at 6:30, when he had text and said he would be home at 5, and that they had already eaten with his Dad, which I had expected, but for some reason I was not expecting girlfriend, cause I thought she was camping…. I got an attitude… so of course son1 asked what was wrong and I said nothing which even young guys kn0w means something, lol… so finally hubby came home, we were ready to open presents and son1 was crying… I’m sure more for the emotions of the weekend of seeing his dad then me being mad at him, I just didn’t help the situation… I did explain to girlfriend that I was not mad at her but that son1 NEVER tells me when she is coming over… and of course it’s always on the day that I didn’t clean or fix much for dinner… cause on the days that I do go all out for dinner, they are no where to be seen… son1 did open his presents and we had a nice time until he and girlfriend went to spend some time with their friends and son1 did not come home again until the next night after work… this weekend son1 and girlfriend are off at the beach celebrating their eleven month anniversary…

Now we pause for a brief intermission as we are off to eat dinner… we have chicken, scalloped potatoes, lima beans, baked beans, rice and left over pizza………

I’m back… Dinner was good… now we are watching Hercules Season 1 with Kevin Sorbo… we have been on a watching old TV shows kick this year… started with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Emergency… then Bones… Star Trek Next Generation… I’ve put several other shows on Netflix too… Whose Line is it Anyway, Quantum Leap, Beauty and the Beast, Lost in Space, The Wild Wild West, Hogan’s Heros, Babylon 5…….

Just a week and a half til the boys start school again… Time to get back into a regular routine… no more video games, TV and no showering for days… lol… so many books I wanted to read with son3… we still have ten days…. son3 needs to get in a bit more pool time before we take it down… we’ve had a busy crazy summer this year… from working to playing, to going to the movies, day trips, working for my TMS entries on Thursday, watching too much TV, I read a few books, cleaning the boys rooms, getting son2 moving and keeping up with son1….

I’ve been so in the mood for blogging again… however no quiet time in which to think to type… I have all kinds of thoughts all day but by night my mind falters… or like now the boys are playing Nerf sword fighting right in front of me…. now Nerf rockets are flying over my head… I think it’s time for some boys to hit the showers… I have to be at work at 6am, maybe everyone should get up at 4:30am, ya think… and tomorrow is August First, time to kick my weight loss plan back in gear… my goal is to do an entry tomorrow all about that…. so we shall see how the day goes then…. til tomorrow….

Cheese Bread

IMG_0001

IMG_0003

Last week Mr. Food from ABC was on the TV in the break room at work and he made this cheese bread so I thought I would give it a try… It was very easy and yummy!

1/2 cup milk

1 egg

1 1/2 cups Bisquick mix

1/2 cup shredded cheese

some onion and parsley…

mix all together and pour in round pan

pour 2 Tb spoon of melted butter over top and

sprinkle another 1/2 cup shredded cheese over top

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes

Today I had planned on making teriyaki chicken only to discover I was out of teriyaki sauce as I was putting the chicken legs in the pan… So I invented Chicken Surprise or Clean out the fridge chicken…

I added two cans of chicken broth, finished off two bottles of honey BBQ sauce, finished off a bottle of Italian Dressing, finished off a bottle of Soy Sauce, added some Worchester Sauce, added a can of Mandarin Oranges, and sprinkled in some garlic salt and Lawry's seasoned salt and brown sugar…

Boiled/Simmered it for two hours and served with rice and peas…

Everyone liked it, even son3 had two chicken legs… It just fell off the bone…

Just finished watching Horton Hears a Who… son3’s pick since it’s his birthday tomorrow… He’ll be 9…. then on Sunday it’s son1’s birthday… He’ll be 23… Big birthday weekend here… Son1 is off to see his Dad… hasn’t seen him for seven months… he’s a truck driver and hasn’t been in state for a while… Son1 is too excited…

GT00157A

Son3 is just too excited it’s his birthday… Hubby put up the decorations today… He and son2 wrapped the presents… They picked up a Banana Split Ice Cream Cake for son3 and ordered a White Cake with Banana Filling with Green Frosting for son1… Tomorrow morning will start with breakfast… I see donuts and bacon… Guessing there will be some eggs too… Then of course son2 wants to open presents… Son1 said he would be home tomorrow but don’t know when… otherwise he can open presents on Sunday, however not til hubby and I get home from work… Originally son1 was going camping with girlfriend’s family so we didn’t plan to have the day off…. but now his Dad’s in town so all plans changed…

I asked son3 what he wanted to do tomorrow and he said go to a restaurant like Carl’s Jr… I said Carl’s Jr is not a restaurant and he said yes it is, they have tables there… I said how about Applebees or Dennys… He picked Applebees, so we’ll see…

hbssbb..

Son3 has learned to blow up a balloon and is now blowing them up and then letting them go all over the room as the air blows back out…. lol… Hubby is watching a Smallville repeat… son2 is grumpy in his room, so I told son3 to go let a balloon loose in his room… I’m tired and ready for bed… I was at work at 6am today to set the ad… And it’s going to be a busy day tomorrow with all the celebrating…
