July Fourth

 

We are having a quiet Fourth of July…

I’ve been doing laundry and going through pictures on the laptop…

Updated my photo blog Not Just Roses…

Hubby relaxed watching TV…

Son2 is off with friends now to hang out and watch fireworks…

Son3 is waiting for it to get dark… We will be able to see the fireworks at the waterpark from our driveway… and we have some leftover fireworks from last year to shoot off…

June Thirtieth

 

We are back… From VEGAS!

We left Tuesday the 25th at 7:20am, stopping at Prim and Goodsprings so son2 could see the towns that his video game uses, arrived at our hotel, The Excalibur at 3:30pm, checked in, explored the hotel area, had dinner at the buffet and explored the surrounding strip until about 10pm…

Wednesday we spent the entire day on the strip… So much to see… We walked from Excalibur all the way to the Trump tower and back… dinner at the Luxor buffet… and then seeing the strip at night…

Thursday we checked out from the hotel and visited the other side of the strip seeing The Tropicana and Mandalay Bay, pictures with the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and then on the road again to visit the Hoover Dam… It was spectacular, like a mini grand canyon… and then homeward bound arriving at 10:20pm…

I took over 400 pictures and son2 took over a thousand with his new camera… So hopefully soon I will be ready to share some pictures…

Friday was hubby’s 55th birthday…

 

 

 

We went grocery shopping since we had been gone all week and got Chinese food for hubby’s choice of birthday dinner…

Son2 went swimming with his friends and was back in time for dinner and cake…

Hubby made himself a chocolate pudding cake and we watched Jack the Giant Slayer…

Saturday we went to the Black Bear Diner since we ran out of time to go to Denny’s while in Vegas… Son1 came too to tell hubby Happy Birthday and hear about our trip… The portions were huge and so good… I had the Hawaiian Omelet with red potatoes… Son2 had corned beef hash with eggs, hubby and son3 had pancakes and son1 had a club sandwich with French fries…

Saturday afternoon hubby and I wandered around Wal-Mart…

Son2 went to hang out with friends and ended up spending the night with them…

We had leftover Chinese and watched Snow White and the Huntsman…

Today Hubby and I finally feel a bit more rested from all our vacationing…

Got some things done around the house today…

Hubby finished fixing the new hose post for the front yard… used his new drill from his birthday…

More leftover Chinese food and chocolate pudding cake and watching Under the Dome…

Back to Work tomorrow and hubby has Jury Duty…

June Twenty Fourth

 

After working all three days of the weekend…

I am off today!

Shower, shaved and painted my toenails and hubby cut my hair…

I am on load number two of the laundry and have vacuumed half the house…

Pets are fed and hubby and I have had breakfast…

I have made a list of everything we will need to get ready for Vegas…

And printed out the driving directions with all our in between stops…

Emails are read and replied to plus Facebook is checked…

Son2 did the dishes and dishwasher is already waiting to be emptied…

Hubby is applying to jobs…

Son2 is on his laptop…

Son3 is on his games…

The dryer is buzzing, so back to work I go…

It also rained for a minute or two and now the sun is out…

Back from Walmart with a bit of groceries and a new shirt or two for me and hubby for our Vegas trip…

Third load of laundry is in the dryer…

Bathrooms are cleaned…

Cat box is cleaned…

Son2 emptied the dishwasher and it is waiting to be filled again…

Pots and pans are washed…

Rest of the house is vacuumed…

Fridge is cleaned out and kitchen island cleared and washed…

Laundry is put away…

Hubby is washing the cars…

And son2 is getting the totes ready for the garbage man tomorrow…

Son1 and DIL went beach camping this past weekend… So their dog Danny spent the weekend with us… He was all excited although he does NOT like Holly and gives her about twenty feet of space between them at all times…

Having hot dogs and onion rings for dinner…

And watching Chevy Chase Vegas Vacation… to get in the mood for our upcoming vacation…

We still have been watching Grimm and started watching Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place from 1998 with Ryan Reynolds… We watched The Proposal the other night and it reminded us of the show…

And here it is today already where in just a few minutes I will be going to work…

Hubby’s Father’s Day Breakfast with Presents…

I made the card from the boys, son3 helped and they both signed it…

Hubby got some movies and the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends, 30th anniversary edition…

Pinwheels that son3 got me for my birthday…

Flowering cactus, just sharing…

Son2 now has two watermelons growing…

Rose on the right has a little baby praying mantis…

Hubby went to a follow up appointment for his finger… the doctor said he was lucky as he could have easily cut off his finger… the tendon was nicked and a shard of bone so tiny was sheared off that it is floating in the finger… they said it could adhere back to the bone or it could get in the way some day of his bending his finger… he has to go to one physical therapy appointment to show him what exercises to do… take ibuprofen twice a day to help with the swelling… and then only if it has not gotten better go back for another follow up appointment in six weeks… he will probably never be able to completely bend the finger into a fist but it is his left hand and it is working well enough… as the doctor said he is very lucky he did not cut it off…

Now we are looking forward to our vacation to Las Vegas… I will be taking a whole week off of work… They are already missing me and I am not even off yet…

And I just remembered hubby has Jury Duty coming up in July too…
