May Twenty First

IMG_0001

I am here…  I am tired… I am overwhelmed and don’t know what to do first so I do nothing…

I am thinking lists are not working for me anymore for a long while now… My new thought is to walk into each room and do at least one thing, it could be anything that catches my attention…

But first I have to get my butte out of the computer chair… Or to at least do all the things I want to do on the computer… but I get distracted with Facebook… and games on the phone…

And yet I always have time to eat…

With all the not doing of the things I want to do, you’d think it would be easy to not do all the things I don’t want to do…

IMG_0002

I am off today and I was off yesterday… Tried not to overwhelm myself with plans so I wouldn’t be disappointed and spoil my two days off…

This morning hubby and I got son3 off to school… Three weeks from tomorrow and he is done with elementary school… He has a power point project on Germany that the teacher gave him an extra week to finish that he has barely started… So hubby has been helping him with the research so he just has to go to school and write up the power point… Yesterday I put pork chops in the crock pot so dinner would be easy, but since hubby was helping son3 we did not eat dinner until 8:30pm as son3 had to finish his regular homework first… Seriously still regular homework with only three weeks of school left…

Son2 is on summer vacation… Last night I dropped him off at son1’s house so they could play Xbox… Today is DIL’s birthday, she is 23…

Yesterday I was cleaning the kitchen and pulled everything off the top of the fridge and you would not believe how many inches of dust was up there… Son2 surprised me and cleaned it all off for me… I also cleaned all the counters, ran the dishwasher twice and washed the floor…

This morning I was walking down the hall and the vacuum that is always there rammed into my toes on my right foot… the middle toe was very effected… to the point that I couldn’t walk on it… hubby taped it to my second toe and I took an ibuprofen and gabapentin and it is much better now… So I continued on with my plans and made chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies and brownies…

IMG_0005

Son2’s blackberry bush has blackberries…

IMG_0006

I don’t know if this is the mom or the dad but they have a nest in my climbing rosebush…

IMG_0007

There is the nest…

IMG_0011

You probably can not see in the picture but I could just see the baby beak sticking out of the nest…

IMG_0012

Maple lying under where the nest is…

IMG_0013

Indy laying across from where the nest is…

IMG_0014

The birds are having fits yelling at the cats and us every time we go to this side of the yard…

This is either the mom or the dad giving Indy what for…

IMG_0015

Then the other one came and gave Indy what for…

They are going to hurt themselves with all the yelling about us being too close to the babies… I know they are just doing what is instinctive to protect their babies… Although I’m afraid they are going to land on my head and peck out my brains for trying to look in the nest… I’m just peeking and saying congratulations…

IMG_0009

Maple says doesn’t this flower smell nice…

IMG_0010

Yesterday after we got son3 to school and I cleaned the kitchen, hubby and I went out and about… We went to Dollar Store, Payless Shoe Store, Anna’s Linen & Things and the Grocery Store…

IMG_0017

Look what I found at the Dollar Store… I know, I need an intervention… I’m addicted to books lately… I think it’s my comfort/reward since hubby’s not working… They are romance novels and two are authors I actually read and one has vampires…

I was just going to Payless to check as I need work shoes and didn’t expect to find anything but I found two pairs, one for home and one for work… Plus hubby found a pair for twelve dollars… Son3 needs shoes and we saw some for him but he is getting picky in his pre teen year and needs to pick them out for himself…

I wasn’t impressed with Anna’s and didn’t see any rugs or curtains that I was looking for…

IMG_0018

Hubby has been working in the front yard… The barrel used to house the hose, son1’s idea… However now hubby has installed a fence post that he will put a holder on to wind the hose around… And the three flowers below will go into the barrel… Hubby however has gotten distracted with the side yard between us and the neighbor’s driveway and has removed all the poppies and the rocks around the tree and is redoing the sprinkler system since the grass is dying on that side…

IMG_0019

IMG_0020

IMG_0021

IMG_0023

Son2’s strawberries in their new strawberry pot…

IMG_0024

I can’t believe the year is half over already… Three weeks from tomorrow is my birthday and son3’s last day of school…

All I do is go to work, go to work, go to work… We have inventory next Wednesday and I haven’t even done anything to get ready for it yet…

And when I am home, we watch TV… I do like the phones that when I check email and Facebook, it is much quicker then when I am on the laptop… with the laptop I get distracted with other things and the phone I put it down as I am done…

I do like that the sun is up longer now but then I am tired from working all day and that we have been staying up til midnight and then I am up before six in the morning… We so love that we can watch all our shows on the DVR…

Hubby still applies for jobs every day… No calls lately though… He got the results yesterday from his PSA test and still cancer free…

IMG_0025

Maple looking intently at something in the grass…

IMG_0026

Holly looking at Indy…

IMG_0027

Indy wondering why the birds keep yelling at her…

IMG_0028

I am back… got up to see about getting something done… scanned in some cards into the computer for the blog… put away the laundry… watered the houseplants… son3 came home… his regular homework is done… now hubby is setting him up to work on his power point… still an hour before I will start heating up dinner… leftover pork chops and I’ll add some sides…

The internet was down for a day and a half… so no computers, tv or house phone… tech guy came out, discovered someone had cut our wire while working on someone else’s wire and he had us back up and running… we lost the bedroom phone again though… don’t know why we have trouble with that phone whenever we hook up a new internet company… I told hubby now that we have the cell phones we won’t worry about the bedroom phone… telemarketers just wake us up when we are sleeping anyway…

I was seeing if I could remember anything else we have been up to since I haven’t blogged in a few days but I think this entry is long enough… I will move forward and get back into the habit of blogging again…

Off to go through my work papers before I go back to work tomorrow… straighten up my desk… get some cards to mail… and straighten up the kitchen and get ready for dinner…

How was everyone’s Mother’s Day!!

Mine was good!!

We had muffins for breakfast and went for a visit to the Bay Area to visit family… And visit hubby’s parents at the cemetery to leave some flowers…We got a late start and got back late but it was a good day…

The above towel sat on the dining room table for a couple of days, covering my Mother’s Day treat…

IMG_0003

This is what was underneath…

IMG_0005

Cards from hubby and the boys…

IMG_0008

Seagram's, soup bowls, silk roses, Nora Robert’s Sisters of Mithra trilogy, the first three Sookie Stackhouse books, (I got all the books at the used book store), Gone with the Wind on DVD and peanut butter M&M’s (the M&M’s are all gone already)…

Notice anything else in the picture peeking in the back…

IMG_0001

And an orchid for Mother’s Day…

IMG_0002

I’m not allowed to buy any more books… says me! I have too many to read now and can’t even decide what to read next… and I made a mistake again… I found the Stephen King book on the right at the used book store, thinking hmm a Stephen King/Richard Bachman book I hadn’t read yet… And yet look what was in my bookcase in hardback from when it first came out that I didn’t remember reading already… So of course I’ll read the new one too even if it is the same…

We were in time for the Sea Lion Talk…

IMG_0070

Yesterday I was so frustrated at work that I finally had a talk with my managers that I wasn’t liking how things were not getting done since I was spending all my time doing the same things over and over every week…

So we made a new plan and even hired a new associate… we still need to hire another…

We have a visit again on Thursday so always lots to do and every day stuff too…

IMG_0072

Shoes has a visit on Thursday too where all the managers come from other stores for a training session…

IMG_0074

Today was son2’s last full day of his first year of college… He just has one more final and he’s on summer vacation…

Hubby and I went to Walmart to get a couple of groceries today and ended up getting a couple more plants for the side/front yard…

Son1 stopped by this evening so son2 could order a birthday present for DIL for her birthday next week… So she wouldn’t know about it and we could hold it here… It’s some makeup brushes she’ll need for her job when she graduates beauty school in a couple of months…

We had Mexican food for dinner and he headed back home…

We have discovered a new show that we just finished watching the first episode, the show starts season three this summer… It’s Falling Skies…

With son1 visiting we got a late start to the evening and now it’s time to get showers going and get ready for bed…

Back to work for me tomorrow…

I jumped out of bed too early at 6am this morning…

Hubby was already up and I went in search of him… He had been up since 4:30am… He said his brain was thinking and not letting him sleep… He had a bad dream or was anxious about something…

We talked for a bit about other things and the next thing we knew it was 8:30am…

We had breakfast and got ready to go to the zoo… Just us two…

We had a nice stroll around the zoo, although it was a bit hot… I think I took more pictures of flowers then I did animals… We saw the baby orangutans, the otters were more playful today, and we were in time for the sea lion talk…

Came home and had a bit of lunch and lots to drink… Cooled off and then got ready to take the boys to the movies…

By now however I had a big headache…

I don’t know how to relax or too much fresh air at the zoo…

We didn’t tell them where we were going as a bit of a surprise…

We saw Ironman 3… It was good… Lots of story line and just enough action…

By time we got out of the movies it was 6pm…

How can twelve hours in a day seem like just a minute…

I think part of my headache was I wanted to go out and about and enjoy the day but it just flew by with the two things we did…

We stopped at the grocery store and got some deli chicken…

It was so good… I love the wings…

Son2 made some banana shakes…

We watched Chicago Fire and now we are watching Game of Thrones…

My headache is better and it’s only 9pm… I can’t believe that hubby is still awake…

Not too bad of a day at work…

I’m learning to just follow the day… and just keep checking things off my list…

Picked up son2 at college… He has finals next week and he is done with his first year of college…

Son2 wants to build a terrarium… He bought a venus fly trap plant the other day and now wants moss and ferns…

Son3 got his homework done in a reasonable time today and we were eating dinner by 7pm…

Hubby got a few things done today too…

He cleaned the master bathroom… Yay…

I have my own homework I brought home from work that I need to do…

I made chicken popcorn and chicken strips with teriyaki rice and leftovers…

We’re watching Supernatural, Arrow and Chicago Fire…

Son3 is studying for his Geography test…

Just have to close at work tomorrow and then I am off the weekend…

I am torn about what I want to do this weekend…

I wanted to go for a drive on Sunday visiting our old neighborhoods in the Bay Area and maybe stopping at a friend’s house or two…

Then hubby mentioned going to Monterey on Sunday and I’d like to do that too…

I wanted to stay home on Saturday and just rest and play…

Or should we go to Monterey on Saturday and still go for a drive on Sunday…

Or maybe I should make the boys clean the house all weekend while I give orders..

I want chocolate…

I ate all my Easter candy already…

The boys still have Easter candy…

I’m thirsty…

Off to fix me and son3 something to drink…

Chicago Fire and then time for bed…

Laundry to put away in the morning and work papers to sort through…

It’s after 9pm… Son3 is still doing homework… He started at 3pm… We did take an hour break for dinner… He had regular homework to do and missing work to do… He has not gotten to the missing work yet… He was supposed to make a crossword puzzle with his vocabulary words… He made a word search… So hubby has been helping him all evening make a crossword puzzle… He had already finished his other homework due tomorrow…

They are having state testing this week… When son1 and son2 had state testing, their teachers did not give homework during that week so they could get rest and be to school on time…

I have yelled… Hubby has yelled…

Son2 also has homework for college tomorrow… He is not doing it… He also got yelled at for not being a good roll model for his younger brother… I know school is easier for son2 and yet I remember a time all the way through fifth grade where he had trouble in school and got yelled at too…

I had a quiet day at work… Came home hoping to get a couple of things done… I even brought home work to do at home, but I didn’t get to my homework because of son3’s homework… I have a very bad attitude toward school and it is not helping son3 have a good attitude about school… And yet he keeps going every day and trying…

We are looking forward to middle school and hoping for a better time…

Son1 and son2 barely had homework in middle school and high school… And yet I expect son3 to have homework… He is doing middle school work now… He is doing stuff I didn’t do until high school…

One more month and he is on summer break… but that is not a good attitude to have… He needs to study and do good in school…

I always have thoughts of coming home and doing my blog entry, making a nice dinner, going for a walk, working on a project or two, spending time with my loving family…

And yet I walk into chaos…

I know I’m the mom and it’s my job…

I’ll be glad when some of these men around here get a job…

And I’m not liking this menopause if it means I’m going to get fat again…

I know I’m not eating well, but I’m not eating any more then I was before when I was in shoes… Is working in hardware making me fat…

Son3 is done and we are finding out that he was supposed to do a word search and a crossword puzzle… so the word search was not a waste of time…

Son3 is off to shower…

Son2 is hanging out in my bed…

I’m off to play games on my phone and go to sleep…

Back to work again tomorrow…
