Pork Stew I made the other day…

I took pictures as it looked so pretty…

Above is just the pork meat and onions in balsamic vinegar and soy sauce…

Above is all the vegetables in water with a stew packet seasoning mix…

Above is the two together simmering…

Sunday was a super long day and so long ago…

Monday was work… and son2’s scavenger birthday…

Tuesday was a day off…

I finally used my new vacuum…

It’s so nice… the only con is the cord is too short…

IMG_0006

My old Dyson… it’s over ten years old…

My new Hoover did a wonderful job of cleaning, filled the whole canister in one use…

The Dyson has not been hardly sucking for a while now…

IMG_0008

The piece that broke off the handle…

IMG_0009

The handle no longer stays connected to the vacuum…

Today was work at 6am…

And now I’m tired and can’t think what to write… or what we did yesterday…

Hubby and I have walked two days in a row…

Watching Raising Hope… and back to work at 6am… time for sleeping…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you can fool others, sometimes even yourself, but God always knows your truth.

Uncomfortable, painful, even scary at times, truth is always better than lies. Remember, God always knows.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

sometimes it helps to go to the sacred places of this Earth.

There is a lot of peace and energy there to fill you up and restore you. Go there in person, or if you cannot, in your imagination. When you get there, miracles do happen.

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you have to face problems however difficult they are.

Having the bravery to face your difficulties is the hardest step; working through the problem is often easier than you think. The first step is always the hardest.

January Nineteenth

IMG_0001

Miss Holly and Son3 were bonding… She was putting her forehead to his but I missed that shot… as she was having enough, hence the shot where she was swatting at him…

IMG_0002

I survived my first week in the new job… I’m a bit overwhelmed and yet feeling like I’m diving right in in the first week… still lots to figure out… so much to do and yet need to take a moment to make a plan… and yet each day we just hit the floor running and see what we can get done before they add more to our list… there’s counts, resets, stocking, ads to set, signing to print, training to teach and do and more… same things I did in shoes but more departments and less associates…

IMG_0003

I had a good night yesterday closing, as I was able to sleep in yesterday, plus I was looking forward to having the weekend off…

I do keep freaking out every so often, thinking I am in way over my head… but I take a deep breath and tell myself just one thing, day, at a time…

IMG_0004

Today hubby and I planned to have a day just for us… We slept in… Hubby made breakfast for us and the boys… We went to the zoo, just the two of us… Then we went to Toys R Us, Walmart, Party City and Dollar Store… to look for son2’s birthday… Then home to have soup and popcorn chicken for dinner with the boys… We have now watched Arrow, Still Standing, Supernatural, Bones and next Hawaii Five-O…

So not totally a day just for us but we are trying…

IMG_0005

Tomorrow we are going to get ready for son2’s 19th birthday… His birthday is Friday but I close that day and work all next weekend so we are going to have his birthday Monday night after I get home from work since the boys are out of school for the holiday and son3 won’t have any homework…

I need to clean the house and hubby needs to finish putting away the Christmas…

Since it will be son2’s last birthday as being a teenager we’ve decided to do his birthday as a scavenger hunt… when he was seven we had a scavenger hunt for his first bicycle and he loved it…

So he doesn’t know yet but I’m going to make up cards with kind of a Hobbit theme throughout the house to find his presents, just a couple little things… so I have to do that tomorrow…

All the stores today were to find party supplies with a Hobbit/Lord of the Rings theme… we found nothing… they don’t make any…

I was looking for stickers to put on the scavenger hunt cards and something for hubby to put on the cake… now hubby’s thinking of checking the grocery store to see if they have any Hobbit themed cake to order, but I doubt it…

So Monday hubby will make/buy the cake and make his famous hamburgers that are son2’s favorite… the rest of us too…

Now hubby, son2 and I are finishing up Hawaii Five-O… son2 and I shared some Caramel Crunch and Munch, now I’m eating peanut butter M&M’s… My new year diet is kind of up and down…

DSC_34611

Here’s my new vacuum… I know, stop spending money, hubby’s not working… I’ve been visiting it at Target for over a year now… but my Dyson was still working well enough although it didn’t suck as well as it did, the hoses had holes and the handle kept falling off… but I couldn’t rationalize getting a new one just yet… It was $159.99 at Target… the other day I was dreaming and thought let me check KMart as I get my employee discount there, I have a gift card and I have Shop Your Way Rewards points to use plus I got an email stating that if I used my points I could get bonus points to use right away plus my free shipping was about to run out in a few days… so I put everything in the cart just to see and the total was $115.00… so I was going to think on it for a day or two… but when I came home last Tuesday hubby said it was meant for me to order the new vacuum as the Dyson had fallen apart on him when he was using it that day…

So I put it to faith and ordered it Tuesday… it would arrive between the 25th and the 28th… no hurry… Friday morning I was checking my email and I got an email saying my vacuum had been delivered on Thursday… Um no… so I’m checking tracking numbers and UPS showed it being delivered at 9:01pm on Thursday night… we were watching TV then and no doorbell rang or no knock… so hubby and I are debating back and forth and I finally tell hubby, open the door and there sits my new vacuum… since when does UPS run til 9pm when it’s not a holiday and we are lucky no one stole the vacuum just sitting on the front porch for all to see… and boy was that fast delivery as I just ordered it on Tuesday and it came on Thursday…

My Gabapentin came on Thursday too just as I had taken my last one… I have plenty now and no fear of running out…

It’s getting late now… after 10:30pm… son2 and son3 are camping out in the living room again tonight… I’m sleeping in in the morning and then getting busy on my list…

I just remembered one more thing… You know the picture I’ve been sharing of the kitten’s mother… hubby was talking to the neighbor and they didn’t keep the mother but they kept one of the kittens instead… so that is their brother, not their mother… and I’ve been calling him Mum… thinking of calling him Dude now… and hubby found out their other cat they had for the last fifteen years, Yodi, had passed away just before Christmas… he lived a long time for an outdoor cat… Yodi and Raisin were friends of sort… I still miss Raisin and now I’ll miss Yodi too… Indy is now sitting on my lap… Maple is sitting in the big chair on son3’s pillow all comfy cozy…

I’m ready for my bed all comfy cozy…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

it's time to STOP going through the motions of living, and START living.

Are you willing to do that now? Or are you going to wait until all life energy drains out of you and your loved ones who are trying to support you at this very moment? You were not born to follow rules and regulations. Living starts with dreaming. So dream, dream friend, and let dreams show you the path to your bliss.

January Sixteenth

spring_surprise

Three days back to work and into the new job…

I’m so tired… I’m not used to being at work at 6am…

I’m working Monday to Friday to flip my weekends to my new rotation…

So I’m off this weekend…

I can’t wait to sleep in…

I was only back to work one day on Monday and the laundry was piled to the ceiling along with the dishes…

Yesterday I did a load of laundry and today three more…

Hubby caught the dishes up today…

Son3 is back to school, so we’ve been getting back into a homework routine…

I’ve been coming home with a headache all week… finally figured out today it is from the cleaning spray I have been using to dust the shelves with in hardware…

I think they may have chosen the new shoe lead, waiting for the announcement…

A bit of drama going on in shoes… I’m trying to feel honored that they are upset that I left… but my feelings are being hurt that they are being a bit selfish and not wishing me well in my new position…

I ordered a new vacuum, I’ll say more this weekend…

Hubby took down the Christmas tree… I’m still waiting for him to take down the rest of the decorations in the front yard…

It’s 9pm, past my bedtime… and still have laundry all over my bed to put away…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

it is time to finally forgive yourself.

You've carried the guilt, the shame for long enough. You've kept your wounds open for long enough. The time has come to let go, to heal. Keep the lessons and let the pain heal. Yes, you know what we are talking about.

January Thirteenth

welcome

Sunday, last day of vacation… Back to work tomorrow…

First day of my new supervisor position…

I’m excited and nervous both…

I’m scheduled at 6am and don’t think there will be anyone else there to get me started… My co-lead closes tomorrow so I won’t see her til the afternoon… and don’t know if my boss will be in early or not til 8am… I don’t want to look lost on the first morning in front of the team… I’ll just take it one minute at a time… there is email I can check and if my new boss has sent the monthly schedule of tasks in my name then I can use that to see what needs to be done… I’ll just be glad when I know the routine of the week so I can get started on all the tasks…

Today, Linda, we believe God wants you to know that ...

it's OK.

Just rest for a moment. It's OK. Yes, things are crazy, yes, the world is going nuts. Yet, deep underneath the stormy waves, there, in the core of your being, there is pure silence, pure love. And ... it's ... just ... OK.
