April Second…

IMG_0008

Hubby and I went to the zoo on Wednesday… Just the two of us while the boys were in school… The mother orangutans were out with their babies… One had a baby boy on Halloween and the other had a baby girl at Christmas time… I’m not sure if this was the boy or girl baby… the other mom was too far away to see…

IMG_0014

Can you see the baby…

196809_10150143619277894_47803307893_6600780_5084307_n

This picture I got off of Facebook from the actual zoo that they took… too cute…

IMG_0054

The Peccary had twins…

IMG_0056

They are too cute too…

IMG_0093

And this was just a pretty kitty at the zoo… I can’t remember it’s name, something that started with a G I think…

Our neighbor’s wife brought home a stray cat from her work parking lot… which has since had six kittens as she was pregnant when they found her… They are just five weeks old so have another week or two with their mom… Bill said we would take one… although Chris and I are thinking two… they were so cute playing with each other… they just started walking and were waddling all around the garage… I think Holly might accept a kitten as she could mother it… she is always licking us like we need a bath… of course Danny might not like the idea as Holly has made him afraid of cats…

IMG_0127

And the lone Red Wolf at the zoo… He is pretty too…

IMG_0007

The first rose to bloom in our backyard…

What a week… It’s over already and tomorrow I start the new position… I was trying to do a smooth transition but I seem to have been thrown in already as my supervisor already moved on to her new position since Wednesday… She has been very eager to get out of shoes… She did show me the reports and how to make the schedule yesterday… and then it took me three hours to make the schedule, I know how to but I just couldn’t concentrate on it or wrap my mind around it or something… as I have had so many things on my mind all week, work related… I didn’t even finish doing the ad yesterday as I was making the schedule… even stayed 45 minutes over my day…

And the team is eager for me to start giving them direction… and there are so many things I want them to do and things I want to do… and this whole visit on Thursday is just in my way a bit as no one can tell me exactly why he is coming and what he expects… except probably for everything to be 100% perfect… I don’t even know if he knows I am his new lead… plus my new boss is on vacation next week… and my old supervisor is closing that day… so he may be surprised to see me… we do have lots of hours this week but with me taking the lead position, I lost me of getting things done… and having to train the others to do what I used to do and still do their tasks… so I’ll be playing the “I’m new” card on Thursday for the visit…

Meanwhile I go to sleep thinking about work and wake up thinking about work… and yet when I am there I don’t know what to do first… of course this past week I was still opening boxes… and then Friday I was a bit overwhelmed with supervisor giving me a crash course around her lunch… so hopefully tomorrow I will have a full day with the team and no outside influence and I can get organized and make a plan…

This week at home was a lazy week of saying goodbye to my old routine of getting off early and getting up early… I’m kinda looking forward to getting up at 6am instead of being at work at 6am… of course the day of the visit I’ll be there at 6am as I am off the day before…

It’s a bit overcast today but it has been in the 80’s all week… cleaned out son3’s summer clothes as he has been wanting to wear shorts to school… luckily he has a few pairs that still fit so he has enough clothes to get through the summer…

Son2 was at a sleep over last night… he mowed the lawn and cleaned his room… getting a new kitten might have inspired him a bit… Haven’t heard from son1 all week… son3 has been playing video games and watching movies…

Dinner is ready… gonna gather the boys… what shall we watch tonight… I think we watched all our Netflix… finished Lost in Space… son3 watched Scooby Doo, a new movie… I had Love and Other Drugs, just kinda skipped through it… and we may have a couple of Hogan’s Heroes to watch…

Got a bit behind on the God wants you to know from facebook:

On this day, God wants you to know

... that there are many ways to climb a mountain. There are many ways to worship God. There are many ways to live a life. Allow each person to choose their own path.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that whatever fills your heart with gladness is a good thing. Let yourself be filled. There is much joy and beauty in the world if you only open yourself to it.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that if you feel too busy, you are. Give yourself permission to be un-busy. Give yourself an hour or a day to simply be. Allow yourself the luxury of a small retreat. Allow your spirit time to be restored. Even God took a day of rest.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that God has an important purpose for you, and made everything possible for you to succeed. That's not to say it's an easy purpose, or a convenient one. It might very well seem hard or even impossible, but it only looks that way. The truth is that one day you will look back and see how all the pieces fit together. And how your life has been a complete and utter success.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that most of your words are unnecessary. All too often you speak simply to fill the space with sound, because you feel too uncomfortable with the silence. But this silence is golden. Only in silence you can hear God speak to you. Only in silence can a real prayer, a heart prayer be born. Next time you start chattering, stop and feel into the silence, feel its shape, its texture, and then slowly and silently say only what really has to be said.

IMG_0001

What a busy day… It’s 10pm and I am still awake and watching Castle…

Holly above with her busy day of sleeping…

IMG_0015

I got to work at 6am today… scanned the athletic shoes for missing displays, stocked the athletic clearance table, stocked the hanging women’s sandals…

7am, coworker came in, we discussed her new processes she is starting this week and we talked…

8am, supervisor came in and we talked about our new positions, things to do and personal items…

9:15am, store meeting… store manager gave the meeting and as he was wrapping up my new boss reminded him of his announcement of my new position… he whispered back are you ready for me to announce it… she whispered back, yes, no… he asked did she talk with all the candidates… she replied no… he announced to us that there would be an announcement tomorrow… lol…

9:35am, I went to lunch…

10:20pm, lunch is over, go back to work to open boxes… talk with other coworker that didn’t get the position, talk with supervisor, open boxes…

12:00pm, listen in on footwear conference with supervisor…

12:40pm, go back to department, talk with supervisor…

1:00pm, time to go home…

IMG_0016 '

Once home update hubby on all the adventure of the day…

Footwear district manager is coming for a visit a week from Thursday…

I officially start my new position on Sunday…

This is my weekend to work and will probably have to close Sunday… then I am off every other weekend…

In May I have footwear training to go to…

June the district manager will be coming again for footwear accreditation…

I have five weeks of vacation to take and was going to take one in either April or May and then another in June but not sure how that is going to happen…

I checked my weekend rotation and I work on my birthday… I have only worked once in the last thirty years on my birthday…

And so it begins…

IMG_0017

Picked up son3 from school… math homework and spelling homework…

Son1 came over to wash a load of laundry… and wash his Jeep…

Last night son1 called sounding a bit down, updating on this and that… still trying to make a plan on his career of choice…

This evening in between washing clothes and the Jeep, he made reference to wishing he hadn’t moved out to his own apartment again…

While he was washing the Jeep I gave hubby a heads up of his comment and should we let him move back in if that was what he was thinking… and how it would effect us and what rules we would enforce this time… and that we would empty out his old room so he can move in there instead of our front living room… or if we should not…

IMG_0019

Son2 came home from tennis, we had dinner, watched Hogan’s Heroes… son1 was still waiting for his clothes to dry and was supposed to go to girlfriend’s to have dinner… by 7:30 his clothes were still drying so he called girlfriend and told her it was getting late and he hadn’t gone home yet to shower so he would see her another time… so he had some dinner and was on my laptop for about an hour, looking up work boots and the military…

He has still been thinking about going to school to be a fireman, or waiting for his roommate’s connection to bring a company to our city so he can work there, or apply to the union for a job…. although he has still been seriously thinking of joining the military so they can train him to be a fireman or mechanic of some sort… So it was after 9pm by time we discussed his choices and he went home…

He seems more serious this time about the military but of course hesitant as it is such a big step… but he keeps feeling like he is getting old at almost 24, lol… of course he is seeing it as once he is finished with a four year tour, he will be almost 30… and of course girlfriend is a factor in the decision although this will be for her future too if they continue to be together… Meanwhile his roommate has gotten a job with PGE at just 20, setting up his future, which makes son1 feel he has to to something too…

IMG_0020

Now at almost 11pm I need to go to sleep so I can go to work tomorrow and actually get something done as I continue on my career, son1 ponders on his career of choice and hubby applies for his next career… so many different stages of our lives all at the same time…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you are a human being, not a human doing. Take time to just be, to breathe slowly, to feel your body that is the temple of your soul. No activities, no worries, no buzzing.

IMG_0001

Well I know you have been waiting as long as I have… Do you see it… the Bird of Paradise has bloomed… I’ve been waiting since Halloween…

And Yes, I got the footwear lead position!!

I finally found out Friday but couldn’t say anything until the other candidates had been talked to… of course when I got to work today, the news had spread through the store and most know now… It’ll probably be announced at tomorrow’s store meeting… Probably won’t be actually in the position til next week, well we’ll have to see when…

I have short hours this week as it is the end of the month, so I got off at 10:30 this morning… took some pictures in the yard, read blogs, and cleaned out and organized my work clothes as soon I won’t be able to wear my jeans anymore and wanted to make sure I still had enough twill work pants to wear that still fit, although some were too big and had to go…

IMG_0004

We’re watching Angel, almost done with season one…

The tulips are blooming…

It was raining most of the week… but now the rain is done and we are going to be having 70’s and 80’s this week… maybe rain again next weekend…

IMG_0008

The wisteria are blooming…

Yesterday, Saturday, was a fast day… we actually slept in til 9:30… hubby made egg and ham on English muffins… we had a long talk with son2 about communication and using his cell phone to call us… well he does call us but only five minutes before he needs a ride… anyway he had an away game on Friday for tennis that was postponed from Thursday… he left school at 1pm and didn’t call home til 7:15pm to let us know that the game was over… of course I had text him twice but he didn’t check his phone… so by time he got back to his school to be picked up it was almost 8pm… So by time we were done with the cell phone talk and please use it, it was almost 1pm…

So then I started in on the printer as the ink and paper I ordered came in the mail… although I had to send hubby to the store to pick up one more ink cartridge as I forgot to order one… after an hour and a half of fighting with the printer and laptop I realized the printer was not set as the default so each time I hit print the other printer kept coming up… so set the printer as the default and look at it’s printing… so got all the taxes printed for mailing and keeping for records… going out in the mail tomorrow and they are done!

Of course by then it was 5pm so just heated up some leftovers for dinner… watched Angel… hubby dropped son2 off to hang with his friends… I put away the laundry… watched a bit of nothing on TV… and then son2 called promptly on time to be picked up…

IMG_0014

Now we are going to watch The Simpsons… I already had the boys get in showers early and get their things ready for school… they have been pajama boys all weekend playing their video games… I just have to make son3’s lunch… and then we are going to bed early…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you will feel better if you notice the sweetness of life. Notice the smiles of children, the songs of the birds, the caress of the sun's warmth. This sweetness is for you. Allow it to soothe your soul and bring a smile to your face.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that you cannot free yourself from a problem by shutting your eyes to it. To free yourself from a problem you have to acknowledge it and face it with your eyes and heart open.

On this day, God wants you to know

March Twenty Third

angel_season_1_sm

We just had a big storm blow over… Rain, lightening, thunder… and it is so cold… I thought it was spring…

We also just finished watching The Best of the Best movies that I taped from ABC TV last night… we wished we would have heard of the voting that they did for the last year so we could have voted too… we agreed with most of the winners, but would have been nice to see the choices… The number one movie of all time~Gone With The Wind…

We have still been watching lots of Angel, still Season One and last night we watched Castle and Hawaii Five O…

Monday I stocked athletic shoes and worked on the sale tables… scanned the floor for missing displays, went to lunch and then opened boxes…

Monday son1 called to come over to do laundry… so he was over from 4:30-8:30pm… doing his laundry, catching up on all things computer and having dinner…

Tuesday I stocked men’s work boots, went to lunch and marked out men’s mismates…

The store manager stopped in to discuss some inventory numbers with us shoe associates and some changes to processes he wanted us to do and in doing so kinda directed them to me and saying when I was in charge and then tried to back track and say if, probably, I was the new lead… lol… so I’m thinking a bit more that I probably will be the new lead… still waiting til I’m officially told… the manager who is making the decision has been doing over nighters this week so that is why still no announcement has been made…

Tuesday son2 had a tennis match but since Yosemite is closed at the moment due to all the snowy weather  the match was cancelled due to the school that they were playing was Yosemite… he has an away match tomorrow so we’ll have to see if how much it will be raining…

Son3 has been having early days all this week for teacher conference… no conference for him though… his report card: Reading~B, Language~C, Spelling~C, Writing~B, Math~A, Science~B, Social Science~A… After next week they will be having state testing so the teacher said no homework… I am saving the paper she sent home just in case she sends home homework, lol… then they will be on Spring Break… so no homework for the month of April… that will be good so if/when I get the position we can get used to my new schedule… and then we will be ready for hubby to get something too… they are opening a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in the old Mervyn’s building right across from where he worked at Kinkos… so he is looking forward to applying there and hopefully hearing a call back…

Oh, which I almost forgot, Macy’s sent an email saying thank you but we have nothing that fits your needs at this time… so moving on…

Tomorrow I’ll be at The Motivation Station so be sure to drop by…

Now I’m heading to bed as I’m tired… I so enjoy sleeping lately, although no matter how early I go to sleep it feels like I just closed my eyes and it’s time to get up already…

Tomorrow have to count women’s shoes and open lots of boxes…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that tomorrow you will harvest the seeds you sow today. What kind of seeds do you need to sow today, so tomorrow turns into the dream you have always wanted?

On this day, God wants you to know

... that every time you pretend to love, you impoverish yourself more and more. Love has great potential to enrich your life. But if you are just playing a role, pretending to love, it's only going to poison you. Because you are teaching yourself that it's just a game, and slowly but surely you will lose the capacity to open in love.

On this day, God wants you to know

... that gratitude is good. The more you are thankful for, the more you will have to be thankful for. God responds to a grateful heart with joy.

IMG_0003

The pictures today are of son1’s Jeep from when he was over putting new lights on with yellow happy face covers and he built the stand for his jack on the hood of the Jeep…

There must be thirty little birds all fluttering in the yard from the ground to the fence to the tree and back… playing in the rain and foraging for the last of the birdseed that is left… I’ll refill the birdfeeders when the rain is done… although they are saying rain/showers all week…

I wasn’t able to see the super moon due to the clouds and rain…

IMG_0004

Haven’t heard from son1 this weekend… he went to watch professional bull riding on Friday…

son2 won his tennis match at his away game on Thursday… and then stayed home sick from school on Friday, head cold…

Son3 has been working on a practice test all weekend to get ready for state testing next month… 140 questions… he flew through the math section… but the English part is what takes him so long… not that he reads the accompanying stories… he tries to just guess at what the best answer is…

IMG_0002

I’ve been keeping busy at work, waiting for them to announce the new shoe lead… Friday I set the ad, changed out sale tables, made three athletic clearance tables, sorted the signs for Sunday’s ad, went to lunch, opened all the boxes, started some price changes and then went 25 minutes past my scheduled time talking to the supervisor when she came in as we are both wondering when they will announce the new lead so she can go to her new position…

Today I set the ad, it was a big take down mostly, went to lunch, opened most of the boxes and already time to go home…

Saturday I just did a few things around the house, the boys were on their games, hubby took Danny for a walk, hubby and son2 have been watching tennis with hubby give him pointers as he used to play and teach tennis, I did a ton of laundry and made chili dogs for dinner… I watched The Switch with Justin Bateman and Jennifer Aniston… It was ok… I think Justin Bateman did a better job than Jennifer Aniston or it was just a better movie for him… Then we all watched Unstoppable, very good, a very simple movie with just a bit of action and suspense… And an episode of Angel… the boys are now waiting as dinner is ready, lasagna, and we are going to watch two more episodes of Angel as the boys are hooked on it…

Yay!! Inventory is over for another year!! Yesterday wasn’t too bad… Actually I spent most of the day doing nothing as we had brought in more shoe associates then we had counters in our area… in the morning they announced everyone to take a break and my co workers looked at me and said what is Linda gonna do, she never goes on break, lol… we just went outside for a few minutes to look at the rain and then it was time to go back… lunch everyone was on their own and I did my regular read my book in the break room… I’m reading the third book now in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series… I’m enjoying it even more now then the first time I read it… The store finished inventory about 1:15pm which left us another forty five minutes to do nothing as we were off at 2pm… still haven’t heard how the numbers came out… and wondering if they will announce the new shoe lead tomorrow or on Monday…

luckyday

So today I was off… I spent the day reading blogs, visiting everyone on facebook and just relaxing… Son3 had to be at school an hour early to go on his mission field trip to San Juan Bautista… they had a a charter bus that played a Tom and Jerry movie and Monsters Inc… we’ve already picked him up and he said he had a good day… his homework from yesterday is not due til tomorrow so we don’t have any homework tonight, just reading…

Hubby had his Macy’s interview today… He was there and back in just over an hour… He felt good about the interview in that he is getting in practice on interviewing again… on getting a job, hard to tell… they are hiring for fulltime/part time/on call… and various departments… only asked him what departments he would like to work in… they will notify by email their decision…

colorleprechaun

I made corned beef today with potatoes and green beans… hubby is now making a lemon pudding cake… son2 is off on his first away tennis match… we are just waiting for a call to pick up when he gets back to his school…

we have been watching season one of Angel… It is so good… the boys love it too…

Son1 came over on Tuesday and Wednesday night to work on his Jeep… installed a stand on the hood to hold his jack… a lot of drilling and cutting and measuring and going back to the store before he was done… he’s proud of it though… so he ate dinner with us and raided the pantry for snacks in between…

Now I’m off to read with son3… we’re reading the second book of the Wimpy Kid… I’ve started a list or schedule of sort of how to get things done around the house… for lent I’m trying to break out of the routine I’ve established and get in a better one… this week was sort of on hold with inventory and hubby’s interview… now hurry up son2 and get home so we can eat corned beef and watch more Angel… and then Bones comes on tonight… work tomorrow will just be set the ad, open boxes from the truck that came today and reset the men’s shoes…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that decision is only wishful thinking until you take that first irreversible step. You can tell yourself that you have already decided, that nothing now can stop you, but if that step backwards is so much safer than step forwards, what will hold you true to your path when the going gets tough? Sometimes, the right thing to do is to take that first irreversible step, the one after which you cannot go back. And now, for you, is one of those times.

Above is the posting for today and below is yesterdays… Still so right on target with what we are dealing with… still waiting for them to make a decision/announcement on who got the shoe lead position… Inventory is Wednesday… will be so glad when that is over with… so I have Thursday off this week… which is good… cause it’s St Patrick’s Day and I can make corn beef… and son3 has his field trip to the mission… and hubby has his interview at Macy’s…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that tonight you can turn your worries to God, and have a good night's sleep. You've been worrying too much about the future lately. So tonight, go ahead, put your faith in God, and just have a peaceful evening and a restful sleep.

The pictures below are from when hubby and I went to feed the birds around March 9th… I have more that I will have to make a smilebox slideshow of… there were lots of seagulls being their greedy seagull selves…

I am so tired from having to get up at 5am this morning which was actually 4am old time… and I will continue to do this all week til I get used to the time change… but I am loving that it is 7pm and the sun is still up…

Son1 came over yesterday to visit for a minute… and then came over with girlfriend today to do his laundry and change her brakes on her car… and son1 was adding more gadgets to his jeep, lights and such… and he printed out his taxes… tomorrow I will apply stamps and get them in the mail for him… they stayed for dinner and just left a bit ago… hubby has gone off to get me gas for the week… and I am trying to get the boys, mostly son2 off the video games and into the showers… as the time change will effect them more tomorrow having to get up for school…

Last night we finally watched Life as we Know it… it was funny and sad and very good… we have one more Bones to watch on this disc tonight and they can go back to Netflix tomorrow…

A bird nest in our lemon tree…

Hubby changed the flow of the bricks from going to the fence to allow for drain off to rounding out the patio… the dirt area he will cement to finish off the patio…

IMG_0003

Looking at it from a different direction…

IMG_0004

The alyssum and bulbs are coming up…

IMG_0006

The non fruit bearing flowering pear tree is in full bloom…

IMG_0007

The left over bricks from redirecting the flow of the patio that hubby will use to trim off this part of the yard… he has since brought more from the front yard where he is changing the look of the yard border under the front window… since he got his unemployment extension and we are getting a bit back from taxes I have given him the go ahead to finish a couple of projects he had started that don’t cost much to finish… I may even have him get a couple of cans of paint so he can paint a bit in the house… it so needs it after eleven years of boy’s fingerprints…

Son3 is in the shower but not son2, so off to wrangle up some boys… I want to have a bit of ice cream, watch Bones and crash for the night so we can get up and do it all again tomorrow…

IMG_0015

Put a pork roast or any type of meat into the crock pot adding pepper, seasoned salt, ginger and nutmeg…

Pour cranberry/orange juice mixture around roast and cook in crock pot on high for six hours…

March Tenth

IMG_0058

These pictures are from Wednesday morning’s sunrise…

Facebook has an application called On this day, God wants you to know… I’ve been reading it on a couple of my friend’s pages and decided to finally sign up myself as it says something different for each person….

Below are the ones from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week…. So far they are perfect and fit accordingly with hubby not working right now…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that all is well. All is going according to plan. Trust that there is a bigger picture. Trust that life is unfolding as it should.

The radio station that I listen to one day was asking everyone to call in and pick one word to honor God… I think it may have been for New Year’s Day for the new year… Not that I called in but the word I chose was TRUST… the message above that appeared on the first day has been what I have been telling hubby since he lost his job…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that it's time you let go. Yes, of course, you want to control so everything happens in just the way you want it. But at the end of the day, we control nothing, - it's all in God's hands, - has always been, and will always be. So, do what you can, and then let go, and let God handle the rest.

And yesterdays was perfect too as I’ve been telling myself every day that every thing happens in God’s time…

On this day, God wants you to know

... that when you are feeling anxious, remember to breathe. Allow yourself to breathe in and out slowly. Allow your breath to bring you to a place of calmness. Allow yourself to be calm like the eye in the center of the storm.

And even though I had a good day today, today’s was just nice to hear…

IMG_0059

Yesterday and today were busy days at work getting ready for inventory… I forgot to wear my pedometer today but I’m sure I got in another 19000 step day just at work…

Yesterday son2 missed the bus again… and with the time change his split second timing in the morning will get worse before it gets better… son2 had a rough homework day yesterday, not that he had a lot just that he kept getting distracted too easily… so it took forever… son1 called while we were doing homework so hubby answered… son1 wanted to come over and do laundry… I was expecting him this weekend… hubby told him it was fine… I told him it wasn’t fine as it was already 6pm and we were still doing homework, I hadn’t fixed dinner yet and by time son1 got there and finished laundry it would be close to 9pm on a school and work night… so he called son1 back and son1 said he would do his laundry at the apartment complex… I felt bad but we have to learn that we can’t always tell son1 yes…

Today son2 did not have tennis so he hung out with his friends… I told him he could hang out but no spending the night… he got home on time and then asked if he could spend the night at his friend’s… Answer still no, he wasn’t happy… a little pudding cake and he’s fine now… reading his National Geographic Kids magazine…

We are watching The Mentalist… Had pizza and pasta for dinner… I’ve been doing good so far on eating less during lent… Stopping during the meal and not having seconds… I did have a brownie after lunch… so when I had some hot chocolate after dinner and then hubby fixed me some pudding cake, the pudding cake was too far as I was then full… but I only had one piece of pizza and a small bowl of pasta…

The big news of the week is hubby got his unemployment extension!!!!

Now The Mentalist is almost over, I’m taping Fringe and I’m ready for bed at only 9pm…

March Ninth

bf

I am off today so this will be an ongoing entry throughout the day… Although it is after 10am and the day is moving on without me…

I slept in til 6am, yes that is sleeping in when usually I am already at work at that time… Tried to get son2 out the door for the bus, but he missed it… our boys have trouble talking, listening and moving all at the same time… so I was trying very hard not to talk to son2 as each time I did he kept stopping from getting ready for school… plus he doesn’t understand that just cause the bus comes at a certain on most days that it doesn’t mean it won’t come just a smidge earlier on another day, as it did today… so hubby drove him to school and I got son3 up and me in the shower… son3’s morning ritual is get dressed, eat breakfast while watching Curious George, brush his teeth, study his spelling words on the white board in the hallway and get shoes on and out the door… he even got dressed on his own and picked out his clothes while I was in the shower and hubby was taking son2… however as much as son3 is starting to show independence, he is also showing the not so good side of independence and saying no to me a lot and arguing… but that’s an easy fix as long as he loves video games and I can threaten to ground him from them…

We are still walking son3 to and from school for the exercise… not that we like to cross the main roadway that only has stop signs and is the cut through for the freeway that everyone uses… the school has been very good about finally consistently having a crossing guard there but still once in a great while there is not, like yesterday and today… so of course every one barely stops even if you are in the crosswalk… so today we are almost to the middle of the street when the car that stopped in the left turn lane stopped just enough and then went… we were still a couple of feet from him but still what if at that instance son3 had decided to finally have a boost of energy, generally he is lagging behind us which is also not good in the crosswalk, and run ahead of us in front of the car at the same time he decided not to wait til we had crossed in front of him… so as his window was open I called him a bad name… he made no eye contact or retaliation as he knew he was wrong… and then of course all the way to school we had to explain to son3 why the man was wrong and why Mom was wrong for calling him a bad name… this town makes me so angry every day to walk and drive here, as I’m sure every town does… if only I had a helicopter…

Now hubby and I are home, have had breakfast, talked a bit and now he is outside working in the backyard~fixing fences and such… I have a list of things to do today and need to get busy… especially since lent has started and my goal was to be on the computer less and taking care of the things around the house I have been neglecting over the winter… I have started the laundry and now I am off to wipe down the boy’s bathroom and clean my bathroom…

aniset1b

It is now almost noon… both bathrooms are clean, vacuumed the bedrooms and hall, second load of laundry in… took pictures for my TMS entry and now I’m having a cola break… hubby did get a job call earlier but since they didn’t identify their company and only referred to the resume they received we’re sure it is from the online job websites however it is probably outside sales commission or work from home… if you love selling insurance of any kind and are extremely outgoing and love talking to people then there are a lot of jobs for you… however we would prefer an actual work place to go to and clock to punch… not rely on commission only and have your own cell phone and laptop…

Off to water the houseplants and then watch Emergency while I work on my blog entries for Motivation Station and Krazy Kitchen…

Untitled-100

Now it’s almost 5pm… We watched Emergency and I had some lunch… Finally finished my entry for TMS… I knew what I wanted to write about, just couldn’t get my thoughts in order in the entry… We walked to pick up son3 and took Danny with us… Son3 only had to write his spelling words in ABC order as he did his math homework at school… still need to test him on his words and read a bit later… he still didn’t take a test on the last book we read… Son2 had decided this morning that he wasn’t going to tennis practice as he had homework to catch up in: a lot of history and some zoology… he’s working on it now…

I put some pasta on the stove to boil and some meatballs in spaghetti sauce and proceeded to put the ink I bought in the old printer… I always just order the refill generic ink online where you can get 3 black cartridges for $20… I still had some generic color left… so replaced all the ink, proceed to print the taxes on the little bit of paper we have left and it won’t print… a pop-up comes up saying the printer had a part not working and to contact the dealer…. ARGH! always when I want to print… and I just got a new printer last year but did not want to spend the $60 to replace the ink in it… since it was new did not want to buy generic ink… so I went to my room to finish my chocolate bar from last night and hang up and put away the laundry… if hubby can’t get the printer to work tomorrow then guess I will be ordering ink and paper for the new printer… I know we are getting a refund but that is for hubby not working, not ordering supplies to get the refund, lol…

Just waiting for the last load of laundry to go in the dryer… and make some garlic bread and veggies to go with dinner… we got Bones Season 3, Emergency and Life as we Know it from Netflix today… Everything is a repeat again tonight on TV… Watched Glee last night…

Hubby is outside watering the backyard… I think the rain is done for the year and time to turn the sprinklers back on… Gonna finish fixing dinner and since I got a few things done today, I can relax for the rest of the evening…

March Eighth…

mardi-gras-6

Today was a nice busy day of getting ready for inventory… no time for thinking about the supervisor position… I cleared some clearance from the stockroom to the floor, stocked the kids and women’s hanging flip flops, cleared the garbage from the stockroom to the bailer, went to lunch, finished opening the boxes, no more boxes til tomorrow when they bring up today’s truck, put away the women’s shoes and put away the men’s work boots… I got in over 19000 steps on the pedometer…

Came home to talk with hubby about his day, he did a bit of grocery shopping… he’s been taking Danny for a walk when he picks up son3 from school… once son3 was home we did his homework… just homework for today even though he missed yesterday… and only ten spelling words… so just spelling sentences, write his words, a math page and finish reading his Spiderwick book…

Son2 was home from tennis, they had a scrimmage today but he lost his 3-8…

I just pulled out all the leftovers from the fridge for dinner… I had two chili dogs and finished the cranberry/orange roast… We’re watching a couple episodes of Twilight Zone and then son3 needs to get in the shower…

Glee is on tonight… I’m heating up some water for hot chocolate… and I think I have a Hershey bar still left from my Christmas candy stash… It’s Mardi Gras so chocolate is my gluttony of choice… Then tomorrow starts Lent, which I have a list for…

And tomorrow I have a day off…

March Seventh

Son3 stayed home from school today… He started getting a fever last night… and when I checked on him this morning as I was leaving for work, I could see him glowing from the hallway… his cheeks and ears were bright red… He was fine by time I got home and will be going to school tomorrow… so it was nice not having homework tonight but I’m sure we’ll have extra homework tomorrow… actually they started benchmarks again this week but it said they are practice for the ones in April…

Son2 is now home from school and tennis… both boys are showered and we are just waiting for the boneless rib shaped pork patties that we will have on buns to finish cooking so we can have dinner… we have Family Guy from last night that I taped to watch… all the Monday night shows are repeats tonight…

Which is good cause son3 and I have to finish reading his Spiderwick book so he can take some AR reading tests this week…

Well I’m 98% sure I probably got the lead position… only because I talked to my lead this morning and she told me about her discussion with her supervisor and the store manager last Friday… it did come down to me and one other person… so I’m glad for the competition… I’m sure it will still be a few days before they announce anything… and then next week is inventory… I will be so glad when it is over… still lots to do but we are way caught up with opening the boxes compared to last year…

Just a short update tonight… as it’s almost 7pm and we are finally ready for dinner… I’m working later this week to get ready for inventory… of course soon I may be working even later with the new position…
