March Third

February in Pictures...

In February new books came... I am reading The House of Reckoning by John Saul, very scary and suspenseful... In spite of the voices and bodies in the basement, I am more worried if the main character will ever get away from her mean foster parents...

Holly was able to enjoy a day of sunshine outside...

I made a pork roast with carrots, celery, zucchini, onion, red potatoes... I thought it was very colorful...

Morning Doves on the patio...

Those peculiar yellow birds came back again...

They don't eat at the feeders but enjoy singing in the tree...

Blossoms were blooming...

Pork roast and potatoes was very tasty...

Son3 discovered that we have Captain Underpants books and was very excited... He has started reading the first one, let's see if he finishes it...

I ordered son3 through his Scholastic book order at school... Today he brought home another book order form... I love Scholastic... I have already seen a few books to order... Son2 and I want the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series... Scholastic books however are not as cheap as they used to be and they sell the books more in groupings now instead of individuals... I rather buy one or two books for two to four dollars each then sets of five to ten books at fifteen to twenty dollars... plus in some of the sets there are books we already have...

I got the Fireproof movie, book and the Love Dare book... I really liked the Fireproof movie when I saw it... Besides Kirk Cameron most of the people in the movie are not actors... But you watch the movie for it's message... I am reading The Love Dare for Lent... I am not keeping up on it daily like I want though... But it is not something you can just read once, but over and over for renewal...

The seeds are growing like crazy... these are the sunflowers...

more sunflowers, cosmos, California poppies and zinnias...

The clouds come and go bringing rain... It is raining again today...

The birds have eaten over fourteen pounds of birdseed in the month of February...

The birds eating in the rain...

I got two Nora Robert's books in February... The Stephen King books came at Christmas... I am set for reading for a while..

More rain clouds coming...

Or are they going...

The seeds still growing...

Hubby bought these at the dollar store...

And one is coming up, since this picture two more came up...

More clouds and more rain...

The Snow Moon...

Sunset on the last day of February...

It is now 4:15 and I have been working on this entry since 1:00... But I have picked up son3 from school.. (ok now it's 4:45)... son3 and I did his homework... son2 came home... hubby came home... I made pork chops, beans, lima beans and mashed potatoes for dinner.... with leftover chicken and rice... and bread... son1 is at work... talked with hubby... hubby is now talking with son2 about doing homework to improve his grades... just passing the tests is not enough... I am regretting getting son2 an XBox for his bday... son1 has acted like he is five instead of twenty two... buying games and accessories for son2's XBox for himself to use... getting mad when we ask son2 to put the XBox in his room since there are no video games on school nights... son1 getting mad cause why can't he play... his room is the front living room and the XBox is blasting... besides it's son2's XBox not his... I feel he has completely canceled out son2's 16th bday with his selfishness... so what has he done now... he found an XBox with games for a good price on Craig's List and has now bought his own... so son2's XBox is now in his room and he is now watching son1 play his XBox.... I wish I never heard of XBox!
Son3 is watching Electric Company and not reading his Wimpy Kid book... Dinner is ready... hubby is still talking to son2... We have Cirque de Freak: The Vampire's Assitant to watch tonight... I have been looking forward to seeing it, hope it is good...
It's pouring outside... where is the thunder...
I'm off to eat dinner... It's 5:10...

February Twenty First...

Three Color Carnival entries in a row... that is not a good thing when blogging... I am always on the laptop and yet I always save blogging for last... and then there is no time left in the day... today I have to work til closing... since I no longer set up ads on Sunday, no reason for me to go in early... supervisor thought she would try it out and schedule me closing... she said she wished she could have seen the look on my face when she told me... I don't mind really except we usually close at 7pm on Sunday but today we are having friends and family night so we don't close til 9pm... how rude, lol... it is raining off and on this weekend... I have taken pictures for several entries I need to catch up on... I hosted the month of February at The Motivation Station so you can visit me there too... OK off to put my shoes on, grumble grumble grumble... I have lots of boxes to open, kids clearance to put out, regular stock to put out and then help clean the floor at closing, so the time will go fast... did I mention the supervisor has to close too, so not too bad then....

February Eighth...

What a day... it was a very long fast day... Son1 and girlfriend got back from the Superbowl Party very late or very early in the morning because his clutch went out and he had to have his car towed home... luckily his friend was following him so they weren't all alone on the freeway... He was able to get a new cable for the clutch but then something went wrong with the new cable so had to return it or get additional part but now it is finally all working at 9pm...
Work was crazy today... the schools were out so everyone was shopping with their kids and the kids were running and laughing all over the place... I got all the new hanging signs changed out today and others changed out all the sign holders on the shoe rows but we weren't shipped the right amount of signs so waiting for the rest of the sign holders to come so we can finish putting up all the new signs... We have a new district manager coming for shoes tomorrow so we trying to get ready for that too but the customers were making a big mess...
Son2 and son3 had a three day weekend and did nothing but play games and watch TV... well son2 did do some homework but still has a bit to finish and it is after 9pm already... and son2 did his Christmas and bday thank you cards... and son3 did his Valentine cards tonight for his class party... but son2 didn't any chores, he's still working on laundry... and son3 didn't read any books this weekend and only studied his 8x a little bit... if he doesn't pass them tomorrow then he's out of his group and can't participate in any fun class things this week until he passes them... and son3 didn't get a haircut this weekend, nor did I...
Getting ready to watch The Big Bang Theory and then Castle...

February Seventh...

It was a very fast day today... It was so nice going to work early and not having to set the ad... I reset the back wall of men's work boots... and stocked a lot of work boots... got a plan together for the new sign set up tomorrow... went to lunch... stocked more work boots... opened boxes and it was time to go home... once home I unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, paid the bills, made some rice and veggies to go with all the leftovers in the fridge, made out some bday cards for the month, made some Valentine cards, got son2 to do his thank you cards, son2 did his homework earlier in the day, son3 studied his 8x, and I played a bit on facebook... son1 is off at a Superbowl party still, son2 and son3 are in their rooms having quiet TV time and now I'm off to fold some laundry and see what hubby is up to... then time for sleeping... another early day at work tomorrow...

February Sixth...

We are watching Dune... Son1 is off with girlfriend... Son2 and son3 had pajama day playing video games... They have a three day weekend... Hubby and I went to Walmart for just a quick trip of a couple of items today... otherwise it has been a lazy day... It has been raining all day... I have a headache...

I have already been back to work a whole week since vacation... And I had to work 40hrs... Setting up the new spring shoe sets... Inventory is only three weeks away... Lots of Fall markdowns... All new signing setup to change out... and our ads have changed from Sundays to Fridays... I like it so much better... now I can get all the sale tables ready on Thursday and come in early on Friday to put up all the signs... So now Sunday I have a whole day with lots of floor coverage where I can stock the floor before the store opens and then catch up on opening the boxes and locating the stockroom... then I figure Monday, Tuesday will be stocking days and opening boxes... we'll see how soon before they change things again and mess up my plans....

Miss Holly is such a woman... meaning she is so mean, lol... she keeps attacking and biting lately... I just can't figure out what she is trying to tell me... she keeps going out but then wants back in cause it is cold and wet outside... she wants to be petted but then no... she just wants to sit on you for the body heat... she is totally addicted to the laser light... you just have to make the clicking noise with your tongue and she is looking everywhere for the light... right now she is asleep on the bed....

The bird feeder on the right is new... holds four pounds of birdseed... the birds love it...

They still love their old bird feeders too...

Last weekend hubby trimmed the branches from the lemon tree and harvested a ton of lemons... the neighbors benefit from the limbs that hang in their yard... we get two harvests a year, summer and winter... still lots of lemons on the tree and more limbs to trim but it was raining this weekend... We usually take a bunch to work and share... or make lots of lemonade... I want to make a lemon pie but have yet to find a recipe that uses whole lemons and not just a bit of juice...

I am loving the Google reader for reading blogs and have been keeping up... spending a bit too much time at facebook lately playing games though... I have lots of things around the house that need doing... and need to get back to writing in my own blog... I will be glad when the sun shines once again and these gray foggy hazy days of winter will be done... sucks out all my energy and makes me blah... should feel comfy cozy in the house but not so much... stress myself out with all the things not getting done...

The daffodils are blooming....

And the blossoms on the plum and pear tree with be opening any day now...

On Wednesday there were about twenty birds in the pear tree in the front yard that I had never seen before...

They had a yellow tint and a crest on their heads....

It was hard getting a picture of them because they would not sit still and kept fluttering from branch to branch... and they were very noisy, making a beeping chirping sound... when I walked out across the yard, they all flew away at once and did not come back...

The allysium came back and on the bottom of the picture one of the bulbs from last year came up... I planted many different bulbs in the backyard but can't remember what all now... I did have a map I drew somewhere in the kitchen...

Hubby had put pavers down under the bird feeders last September so the seeds wouldn't grow up everywhere... but then I remembered the other day that I had planted bulbs there too so had hubby quickly pull up the pavers and the bulbs were coming up under them... so it was just in time...

Only one week til Valentine's Day... need to make some Valentine cards tomorrow to get in the mail... and pay some bills... son2 needs to finish his Thank you cars from Christmas and his birthday... Son3 needs to get his Valentine cards ready for his school party for Wednesday... and memorize his 8x and read his library books... son2 has homework too... son1 has to work tomorrow... Only about a half hour of Dune left... wow I never made it through this movie before... I may actually see the whole thing... I still have a headache though... don't think I got enough sleep this week.... So I will be heading to bed soon....

The Motivation Station

Taking a moment to brag about The Motivation Station... A blog I co-host with some friends to help us get it all done... Our theme for February is Love, which I am hosting on Sundays along with my regular hosting day of Thursday... So if you haven't yet, you should stop by and check us out... Along with our weekly challenges we've started a new long term challenge that you will need a pedometer for... and then pick an imaginary destination, go to Mapquest and see how many miles to get there, convert the miles to steps: every 10,000 steps is 5 miles... and then see how long it takes you to get there by combining all your steps throughout the day from work to cleaning the house to walking on your treadmill or just through your neighborhood... I've chosen Disneyland, 508,000 steps... I have 471,818 to go...

Thanks for stopping by...
